Toh mai uske pass ruka tha aur Monami jaane hi waala thi jab Nikhil ne Monami ko bhi rok liya. Toh hum dono waha hi rukh gaye. Unjaane mai hi Nikhil ne mera haath Monami ke haath ke upar rakh diya. Aur patah nahi kab meri aankh lag gayi. Lekin sach batau uss dinn mujhe pehele baar koi nightmare nahi aaye. Itne salo mai peheli baar mujhe sukoon ki neend mili wohbhi Monami ke wajah se. Monami ne meri zindagi mai wapas sukoon laaya tha.' Karan said.
'Aur uss dinn ke baad dheere dheere mai Monami ke pass jaane unjaane khicta chala gaya. Lekin mai Monami ke liye meri feelings ko lekar denial mai tha. I knew something was going on but maine kabhi pucha nahi.' Sid informed them remembering how Karan's mood and face had changed when he said that Monami wouldn't be attending the NYE's party.
'Lekin phir Monami shayad wapas aagayi. Yeh baat mujhe Faizi ne batai kyuki mujhe har jagah sirf Monami hi dikhai de rahi thi. Isliye jab maine Rani Saheba ko baaki sab ke saath dance karte huye dekha mujhe laga ki I was just hallucinating her.' Karan said coyly.

'Uss din jab Monami ke jaan ko khatra mehsoos hua na mai bohot ghabra gaya tha. Aesa laga ki koi mujhse meri saanse cheen raha ho. It was like as if I was just one step from loosing her forever aur yeh khayal mujhe digest ho hi nahi raha tha. Tab mujhe realise hua ki mai Monami se kitna pyaar karta hu. Isliye jab Faizi ne mujhe aankhein bandh karne kaha tha tab mujhe Monami dikhai di, dhadkane mehsoos karne jaata toh tab bhi Monami dikhai aur Sunai deti thi. Mai denial mai tha apne feelings ko leke lekin uss ek haadse ne mujhe yeh bata diya ki life is too short to be angry be it with someone else or yourself. Uss din Monami ne mujhe zindagi jeene ki ek nayi ummeed di. Lekin bhale hi mai kitna bhi aaj khush hu woh incident ko yaad karke aaj bhi meri rooh kaanp jaati hai.' Karan said his voice quivered a little.
Monami was flabbergasted listening to Karan, she never expected this from Karan. Param and Barkha were happy that their brother was finally accepting his feelings.
'Toh Karan tune Monami ko New Year ke dinn propose kiya.' Param asked
'Finally Karan tumne Monami ko propose kar daala.' Barkha exclaimed all excited for Monami and Karan.
'Kaha bhaiya bhabhi, jab mai Monami ko propose karne hi waala tha tab Monami ka so called friend aagaya Dr. Aneesh Malhotra.' Karan said bitterly whilst everyone who knew Karan just twisted their face at the mention of Aneesh.
'Iss Aneesh ki toh aese ki taesi.' Param cursed Aneesh.
'Arrey Param bro Aneech toh college ke dino se hi Monami ke peeche pada tha.' Sid said with a weird expression on his face.
'Aneech?' Barkha asked 'Uska naam toh Aneesh hai na?'
'Naah bhabhi naam toh Aneesh hi hogo us doctor ka lekin uski harkate katai neech thi, Isliye uske laane Aneech naam hi theek hogo.' Sanju said she so badly wanted to punch that so called doctor in the face.
'Aneesh was like you know the perfect guy shayari banata tha, dance karta tha.' Karan said damn he had gotten irritated and jealous of Aneesh from the moment he stepped his foot into the academy.
'Aur janabji ko unse jalan hone lagi.' Faizi said while glancing at his best friend who was shooting glares at him.
'Shayari banane se aur dance karne se koi acha insaan nahi ban jaata Karan.' Barkha said.
'Sahi kaha aapne bhabhi, lekin woh kya hai na janabji ko unke Monami ke pass Aneesh bilkul acha nahi lagta tha, ek baar toh subah ke breakfast ke liye cupcakes aur kya kya nahi arrange karvayi thi. Aneesh ko laga ki woh Monami ke saath shanti se breakfast kar payega lekin Aneesh hamare janabji yaane ulti Khopdi ko pehechante kaha hai. Hum jaa dhamke waha pai aur Aneesh ke pure breakfast plan pai paani phir gaya.' Faizi said snickering he hadn't just enjoyed those yummy cupcakes but he had also enjoyed the look on Aneesh's face.

'Bhaiya woh Aneesh na hamesha Monami ke saath time spend karne ka mauka dekha karta tha, like hamesha aur Monami ko agar aap jaante hai toh woh kisiko muh pai mana nahi kar sakti. Matlab Rani Saheba usse apna dost maanti thi lekin Aneesh hamesha flirt karta tha uske saath.' Karan said getting irritated remembering Aneesh's behaviour.
'I swear Karan sir woh Aneech toh Monu pai college ke time se try maar raha tha lekin Monu ne kabhi bhaav nahi diya and mai mostly Monu ke saath hi rehta tha so it was tough luck for him to get to date Monu.' Sid said he never liked Aneesh's constant flirting with Monami it was hell lot of annoying.
'Yeh Aneesh toh Monami ke peeche haath dhoke hi padh gaya tha.' Param said drawing to the conclusion that Aneesh's intentions though were harmless at the start would get harmful later, so was the human psychology when attraction turned to obsession.
'You know ek baar toh Faizi sir ne na Karan sir aur Aneech ke beech push-ups ka challenge bhi karvaya tha. I swear itna maza aaya tha na tab Aneech ko haarta dekh, by god.' Sid exclaimed happily.
'Aur phir ek baar toh aesa hua ki Aneesh ki kisi success ke wajah se woh Monami ko bahar party ke liye le jaana chahta tha, lekin humara Karan bhi koi kam nahi hai usne Aneesh se kaha ki kyu na woh hum sabko party de aur ek aur baar Aneesh ka Monami ke saath waqt akele bitaane ka plan flop hogaya.' Faizi said triumphantly.
'Lekin waha bhi Aneesh ne koi kasar nahi chodi mere aur Monami ke beech misunderstandings create karne ki, usne Monami ka drink spike kiya tha aur jab yeh baat Monami ko batai Aneesh ne woh spiked drink exchange kar di normal drink ke saath. 'Mujhe Karan ki baat par vishwaas kar lena chahiye tha, I should have trusted him but mai toh Karan par gussa hogai. Aur phir mai aur Aneesh kahi aur chale gai' Monami said with a sad sigh.
'Aur issi tarah Aneesh apne maqsad yaane Monami ke saath akele time spend karne ke plan mai kaamyaab hogaya.' Faizi said disinterestedly, like Sid and Karan he too never liked the way Aneesh would tail around Monami.
'What Aneech ne aese bhi kiya tha?' Sid questioned Monami.
'Tum kaha the Sid tum party mai nahi the?' Barkha asked.
Sid later went on to explain all the things that had happened with Sanju and Kundan and how he had taken a leave from the academy for a few days. He also said how he had later gone to Bundelkhand to stop Sanju from marrying Kundan. And how in the process Sid had found how Kundan was human trafficking girls from his village and the entire mission.
(NOTE: To all the Sidsa fans if here any, no offense I like Sidsa as well but I'm gonna be truthful the Bundelkhand track sucked like for real. I was so mad at Sanju every time she demeaned or didn't trust Sid, like common on just listen out to the dude's suspicions. And to be honest I think Sanju never put an effort to understand Sid the way Sid did. But again that's my opinion your opinion can differ and I respect it. Okay enough of my rant let's continue.)
'Aur phir uss raat Monami aur Aneesh ko aate aate subah hogai. Subah dekha toh patah chala ki Chola Ghat ke raste pai ek land slide hua. Meri toh paero tale zameen hi khisak gayi. Kyuki jaha hum gaye the waha se academy wapas aane ke raste pai hi Chola Ghat ka raasta lagta hai.' Karan said somberly 'Mai iss baat se zyada darr gaya tha ki kahi Monami ko kuch hua na ho isliye mai uss sight ke liye turant nikal gaya aur Faizi ko kaha baaki ki team ko lekar rescue operation ke liye aane. Waha gaya toh Monami ka naamo nishaan nahi tha, mai logo ko help karne busy hogaya lekin mere mann mai sirf Monami ka khayal tha kya woh theek hogi usse kuch hua toh nhi hoga. Tab maine ek aadmi ke haath Monami ka scarf dekha woh aadmi medical camp ke andar se aaraha tha. Aur phir Monami bhi bahar aai woh patients attend karne mai busy thi aur mai usse dekhne. I swear usse dekhti hi meri saanse wapas aane lagi.' Karan said heaving a sigh.
'Monami aesa lagta hai tum Karan ko aese pareshaan karke apne aur dusre cadets ke upar huye joh Ulti Khopdi ki training ka torture uska badla le rahi hu.' Param said snickering but he was somewhere also worried as to how Monami kept getting in danger.
Karan and Faizi later went on to explain how they had conducted the rescue mission. And how Aneesh kept getting on Karan's nerves the whole time. How Monami was worried to death thinking that Sid had probably been severely injured or might have lost his life due to getting hold of his possessions at the rescue operation site. And how Monami had returned to the rescue site despite the rescue operation being called off due to the deteriorating weather conditions and the darkening night. Later on Sid had called claiming his possessions had gotten stolen but he was safe and Monami shouldn't worry about him. And how everyone was returning back to the academy.
'I swear Kamine Ganju tune aesa dobaara kiya na by god itne thappad maarungi ki tere gaal laal hojayenge aur mai teri first aid bhi nahi karungi baad mai.' Monami huffed in anger her best friend Sid could be really reckless and careless at times.
'Offo Kaminee mujhe kuch nahi hoga and agli baar se tujhe bataye bina kahi nahi jaunga bas. Khush?' Sid said while putting his arm around Monu's neck and kissing her head.
'Bohot khush' Monami gave a cheery smile.
Barkha and Param adored their bond. This duo was a literal definition of friendship in their opinion. And also that a boy and girl can very be only best friends and not fall in love but maintain a soulful and beautiful bond altogether.
'Mai peeche rukh gaya kyuki mujhe Aneesh se baat karni thi isse peheli ke woh mere aur Monami ke beech aur misunderstandings create kare. 'Tum dono na bohot bade bewakoof ho seriously.' Barkha said exasperated where as the dono in question just stood there with their heads down in a lil embarrassment.
'Bilkul sahi kaha Barkha, Monami ka toh samajh mai aata woh commando in training hai lekin Karan tu tujhe patah hai in cases of natural calamities one should always have a back-up team on stand by.' Param shot at Karan.
'Bhaiya ab maaf bhi kar dijiye na. Aur aage badte hai mai shocked tha ki Monami mere peeche peeche cave mai aagayi thi maine usse kaha tha ki woh uss cave se nikal jaaye. Kyuki honestly bolu the cave was looking sketchy and land slide disasters ke time caves are at a higher risk of collapsing. Lekin Rani Saheba meri baat mane toh na isliye hum sambhalte sambhalte andar gaye.'
'Aur jaise jaise hum cave ke deeper jaane lage waise waise cave ke ceiling se rocks and all girne lage aur Karan mujhe shield kar raha tha un sab se. Lekin iss baar he was more worried about me than he was any other time. 'Aneech how could he do this I'm pretty sure he was trying to kill you Karan sir. Woh itna kaise gir sakta hai usse laga hoga ki agar aap nahi hoge toh Monu usse pyar karega. Agar uss din Monu yaa aapko kuch hota na I swear woh nahi bachta.' Sid said angrily.
Param was right in his suspicion when he had guessed that Aneesh's infatuation for Monami had turned into a deadly obsession which turned into a fatal thing for not only Karan but also Monami.
'Aur mai panic hogai. Kyuki aesa mere saath peheli baar ho raha tha. Lekin Karan ne mujhe samjhaya ki panic karne se kuch nahi hoga sirf hamari problems badhengi. And I calmed down listening to Karan. And he started to build a bonfire with the the dry leaves twigs and all to keep ourselves warm kyuki bahar temperature drop ho raha tha and plus weather bhi kharab se bohot kharab hote jaa raha tha. Lekin bahar baarish ke wajah se aur cave ke ceiling mai cracks ke wajah se woh bonfire bhi extinguish hogaya. And I started shivering aur mujhe bohot thand ke wajah se hypothermia ho sakta tha.' Monami said giving the details of the facts she vaguely remembered.
'Maine Monami ko brandy di coz it helps with cold and uske hands ko rub karne laga friction ke wajah se uske haath warm ho rahe the. Lekin Monami buri tarah se shiver karne lagi aur jitni meri medical knowledge theek thi I knew ki hypothermia ke liye skin to skin contacts helps best to keep the person warm, so maine Monami ko hug kiya. Aur Monami ne kaha ki woh hamesha se hi mujhe aese hi hug karna chahti thi.' Karan said softly.
'Par tab Karan nahi chahta tha woh toh tab bhi mujhe majboori mai hug kar raha tha. I knew ki woh tab bhi mujhe hug karna nahi chahta tha' Monami said sadly.
'Maine Monami se kaha tha ki mera kabhi bhi mann nhi kiya tha kisiko ko kass ke zor se hug karne ka lekin ab mann karta hai. Mann karta hai ki tumhe ziitna zor se hug karu ki tumhe apne aap se dur na jaane du. Kyuki jab maut saamne khadi hoti hai na tab zindagi ki ehmiyat samajh mai aati hai aur mai sabse zyada zinda tab hota hu jab mai Monami ke saath hota hu. Tumhaare pyaar ko thukraana meri sabse majboori thi Monami aur meri sabse badi galti bhi. Lekin aaj mai uss galti ko theek karn chahta hu.' Karan said softly but his voice was filled with nothing but love he took hold on Monami's hand again 'Mai tumse bohot bohot zyada pyaar karta hu. I really-really love you.' He completed while kissing their clasped hands.
'Finally chotte tune confess kar diya. Yesss!!!!' Param exclaimed happily.
'Finally janabji.' Faizi whooped his arm in the air.
'Monami tumne kya reply kiya? Kaisa laga tumhe Karan ka proposal?' Barkha asked ecstatic.
'Bhabhi woh actually Monami mere proposal sunne ke thode mins ke baad thand ke wajah se behosh hogai thi.' Karan informed everyone.
Faizi later said how he, Ustadji and Bala had come searching for Monami, Karan and Aneesh the previous night but weren't allowed to go to the rescue site due to safety reasons and how they had saved Karan & Monami the next day. He later went on to explain how Karan had questioned to Aneesh about where he was when he had said he had gone to get the back-up team and not returned and how Aneesh had ran to Monami when she gained consciousness but was low-key insulted when the first name that Monami said was that of Karan's. And how later he had prepared noodles and coffee for Monami. Also on Dhanu's return and possible attack on the academy.
'Arrey waah yeh acha hai Monami ke liye Karan Shergill special coffee. Tum bohot lucky ho Monami, Karan ne shayad hi itne saalo mai mere liye coffee banayi hogi.' Param said dramatically.
Karan rolled his eyes at his elder brother's antics he had made coffee for Param albeit only once.
'Mai under impression tha ki Monami ne mera confession sun liya tha. Lekin phir Monami ne aakar kaha ki usse cave mai joh hua woh bilkul yaad nahi tha. Mai disappoint hogaya lekin phir Academy mai Republic Day ke celebrations ke preps chaalu the. Aur maine socha ki mai baadme Monami ko ache se propose kar dunga. Lekin iss baar security uptight thi aur cadets ko hum involve nahi karna chahte the and humme aesi information mili thi ki Dhanu mujhse badla lene ke liye academy ko target karegi.' Karan said solemly.
'Ussi dauraan hamare academy mai naye naye loge aarahe the for organizing the Republic Day celebrations. Aur ussi waqt humare academy mai ek pregnant lady ka disguise lekar Dhanu aagayi as an event manager.' Faizi said angstly.
