(this is now a story - combined with another one-shot - titled A Thief's Tale)
Last Part; "You're gonna need this again some day."
Days went by before you dared to leave that note again. It was only when the lady told you that she was going to a family meeting the next day did you think to leave the note. You climbed out of bed the morning of the meeting, making sure to shove the note in your pocket before leaving your room. Ever since that day, the triplets had started calling you 'Mama,' which warmed your heart even more than the joy they expressed after you told them their mother finally came around.
When you entered her room, however, lady Dimitrescu was already awake. She sent you a warm smile as you carried the bottle of wine over to her, pouring her a glass of wine. You handed her the glass, noticing how she had been watching you the entire time.
"Something wrong, my dove?"
"That note... Do you still have it?"
You chuckled and took the note out, holding it out to her. "Your daughters didn't let me get rid of it. And since you have a family meeting today, I was planning on giving it to you so you have something to keep you happy for that."
"Thank you," Lady Dimitrescu hummed as she took a sip of wine. "I already made sure the girls know to behave. We also have another maid on their way — they'll arrive while I'm gone—."
"They?"
"They're trans — told me their pronouns are They/Them. If anyone doesn't respect that, let the girls know. They already know what to do."
"I understand, my lady."
You walked with her to the front door after helping her get dressed, saying goodbye to her for yourself and the triplets. Once the door was shut, buzzing filled your ears, a shroud of flies surrounding you shortly after. You were lifted and flown to the library, the triplets setting you on the couch with crazed smiles on their faces.
"You three aren't going to keep your word, are you?"
"The new maid showed up," They giggled in unison. "They made us sweets while you spent time with mother."
"Oh no," You groaned as they dispersed into their shrouds. "Dammit!"
"I take it that was a bad idea?" A voice came from behind you, causing you to whirl around. "They just seemed so happy to have sweets."
"It's fine — the other maids, however, do need to be extra careful. You must be Isa, correct?"
"That's correct. You must be their... mama?"
"Ye-yeah," You chuckled out, ignoring the heat that rushed to your cheeks. "Their mother and I are... Starting our relationship?"
"Well then, congratulations."
You spent the day teaching Isa and trying to keep the triplets from going overboard. When their mother finally returned home, they immediately swarmed to her, whines about how tired they were leaving them. After they finished dinner, you followed lady Dimitrescu to her room, smiling at the flies on her — further proving that they were extremely clingy.
Once you were all in her room, you convinced the triplets to lay in her bed while you helped her change, rolling your eyes at their gags. You followed lady Dimitrescu into her bathroom, humming softly as you shut the door and began undressing her.
"How were they today?"
"They were given sweets," You chuckled. "But Isa helped me. I was surprised when the triplets listened to them, but I think they have a crush."
"Oh?" Alcina chuckled once you finished helping her change. "I can see why."
"What's that supposed to mean?" You huffed as she picked you up.
"That I can see how attractive Isa is, but my eyes are on you."
"Normally I'd be jealous, but as long as you know who you belong to—."
"What was that, pet?"
You giggled and kissed her cheek, letting her carry you to bed. Once she was settled, the girls curled up next to her — Daniela being the closest, followed by Cassandra and then Bela. You smiled as they immediately fell asleep, leaving you to be able to spend time with Alcina until you fell asleep.
"They were hectic, but also sweet," You hummed, resting your head on her shoulder. "Wanna hear what happened?"
"Indeed, but how about you tell me tomorrow over lunch?"
"Are you asking me on a date?"
"I am. What's your answer?"
"I'd like you to properly ask me," You huffed and sat up, locking eyes with her.
"Will you go on a date with me?" Alcina chuckled before pecking your lips. "Lunch?"
"Absolutely."
You spent the entire night sharing stories with Alcina until you fell asleep. When morning came, you were tucked into bed and realized how late in the day it actually was. You sat up immediately, letting out a surprised squeak when you noticed the triplets at the end of the bed.
"Fucking hell!" You exclaimed, ignoring their giggles as you tried to calm your racing heart. "You three... I love you, but don't ever do this again."
"You're not married to mother yet," They grinned as they spoke in unison. "We don't have to listen to you."
"Feral children."
"You have a date with mother. Get ready."
"Leave then."
"There's a bathroom."
You rolled your eyes with a smile, climbing out of bed and taking the pile of clothes from Daniela. Once you were in the bathroom, you realized they had started a bath for you — probably guessing you'd be up around this time. You climbed into the bath and let out a sigh of relief, enjoying how the warm water soothed your muscles. The last time you had a day off was so long ago, you were going to enjoy every moment of it.
The bath didn't last long — if you didn't have a date, you would've stayed in there longer. You climbed out and dried off, getting dressed almost immediately. Once dressed, you left the bathroom and tried to ignore the whistles from the girls. You weren't used to people complimenting you, so when they started telling you how gorgeous you were, you didn't know how to respond and stayed quiet.
"Is something wrong, [Y/N]?" Daniela asked when you stayed silent, prompting you to shake your head.
"I should go find your mother for our date," You rushed out, leaving the room as quickly as you could.
When you finally found her, she was exactly where you expected her to be — the opera hall. Whenever she had nothing important to do and her daughters didn't need her, she was there practicing so she didn't get rusty. What you didn't expect to see was Isa at the piano, playing along as Alcina sang. You silently watched their performance from the second floor, smiling as it came to an end.
"She should've been here by now," Alcina sighed, prompting Isa to look up at her.
"I'm sure she simply slept in a bit longer than expected," They hummed before glancing at the paper they were reading off of. "Do you mind if I keep this to learn it more? I'd like to not mess up next time."
"Of course. I think I'll go look for them..."
"No need," You called and smiled as they snapped their heads toward you. "Where are we having our date?"
Alcina smiled as you made your way down to her, letting her take your hand and guide you to the room. Once you were seated in the dining hall, Alcina took her seat across from you and Isa rushed out food for you both, offering a smile before standing off in the corner. You began with the stories of the day before, letting a smile take over your face as you told the story and Isa began playing the violin.
The date went perfectly — the two of you sharing stories while Isa played one beautiful song after another. You were convinced at that point that Alcina had set this up a while ago. When the date ended and you escorted her to her room, you decided to ask her about everything.
"You set this up, didn't you?"
"Of course," Alcina hummed as she shut the door behind you. "Now come here."
"Oh?" You chuckled when she picked you up. "Putting out after the first date?"
"In your wildest dreams. I do want a kiss, however."
"As you wish, my lady."
You immediately kissed her, humming when she returned it. It wasn't until gagging was heard did you both separate, turning your attention to the triplets on the bed. You buried your face in Alcina's shoulder, whining out of embarrassment as she carried you over to the bed, sitting down once she reached it. The girls nervously made their way over to you, refusing to meet your eyes.
"We're sorry about earlier," They whimpered out, shattering your heart immediately. "We—."
"No, no, girls," You cut them off and moved off of their mother's lap, pulling them in for a hug. "I'm just not used to compliments... I hope you three weren't upset about that the whole time..."
The three sniffled as they returned the hug, practically burying themselves against you. You placed kisses on their heads as Alcina placed her arm around the four of you, a soft hum leaving her. Once she repositioned herself, you were comfortably pressed between her and the triplets, earning purrs from the three.
"I love you girls," You whispered, smiling as their purring got louder. "Thank you for the compliments earlier, they did mean a lot."
"You're welcome, mama," They purred before nuzzling into you some more.
