It took the pair a full fifteen minutes to arrive at the bakery. Granted, they took multiple detours, but seeing as they had all summer to use, what was the hurry?
After deciding on two doughnuts, a strawberry vanilla cupcake and mocha each, they paid and left the bakery to find a peaceful place to sit.
Watching the gorgeous summer morning, the waves crashed down against the burning sand, and the birds flew overhead; Nana and Zane ate their breakfast/morning tea on a beach which faced the beach.
"If there were an option to have a breakfast like that every morning, I'd definitely take it," Zane said, draping his right arm over Nana's shoulders.
"Can't argue with that," Nana said, returning back to the bench after throwing out their rubbish in the nearest bin station, sitting down and shuffling closer to her boyfriend.
"I actually thought that Japanese-made sweets wouldn't taste so good, y'know because they invented sushi. But it wasn't so bad. Reminded me of your sweets."
"What can I say? Mrs Oates comes from a long line of Japanese ancestors, she then passed on the recipes to me. They're all quite similar, don't forget Japan invented anime, as well as Sembei, Yokan and the Yatsuhashi you like," she pointed out.
"Seriously? Yatsuhashi, you've gotta be kidding me."
"Definitely not. As if I'd lie about something involving sweets, right in my element. So! Should we head back to the house, to drop off Twi and get our towels for the water park," Nana decided, pulling Zane off the bench.
"I don't see why not. Twi you in?" Twilight happily yapped in response, trending her paws as she trotted in a circle across the grass, "Wait. We need to get some yatsuhashi first."
"As you said, why not. Twi definitely doesn't mind now, does she?" Nana said with a grin.
The pair ran off to find some signature yatsuhashi, then headed back to the beach house. Once they released Twilight from her lead and grabbed their towels before headed back downstairs.
