Hol Horse only laughed at me as If I was some joke, he then steadied his gun but didn't point it at me yet. It seemed like he was hesitating, but for what reason?
"What are you waiting for huh? They're out of your range eh?" I yelled at him and he gave a grumble of annoyance in return.
Thankfully the car got away just far enough where Hol Horse's bullets wouldn't cause any major damage if they managed to even reach. And I separated the two buddies so it's easier to take on Hol Horse now.
"Listen," He said with a cigarette in his mouth, "I don't like hurting women that much so if you would be a doll and just let me shoot you really quick, I promise I will make this swift and painless."
"You're joking right?" I laughed sarcastically, "Dio sent you here to kill us all didn't he?"
"Eh, he only paid me to kill you specifically. The other's just got in the way." He eyed Avdol's body.
"You bastard, I'll never forgive you for what you did!" I shouted and pulled a radio from my bag.
"Listen, lady, I don't care. You let your friends escape but chose to fight me alone, that's kinda hypocritical if you ask me. You were just yelling at poor Pol Pol about not doing this alone!" He mocked my voice and tried to get under my skin, but I only gave a menacing smile.
"Me? Alone? The others are lucky that my ego isn't as big as Polnareff's." I replied and then began to speak to the radio I held in my other hand. "I'm two streets down from the restaurant, come here quick."
"Roger." Jotaro's voice immediately responded from the radio, and I was slightly happy that everything was going as planned. I'm glad that before I left the restaurant with Kakyoin, I gave Jotaro a radio to communicate.
"Grr." Hol Horse grumbled and spat the cigarette out of his mouth as if he was getting serious. "You think a little backup will help you out?! I told you, I'll take you out before they even show up!" He steadied his gun and pointed it at me.
I began to walk slowly, just so I would have a better chance of potentially dodging the bullet if he fires it, and began walking towards him, with my stand right behind me.
When I faced off against Polnareff, it was harder to fight back because he was a professional swordmaster, but I'm at quite a disadvantage right now because of Hol Horse's gun...
Hol Horse fired a shot but Y/N quickly dodged it. She then produced some kind of armor that wrapped around her whole body. Hol Horse could only laugh at her expense.
"You think some dumb armor is a match for my bullets?! This is no ordinary gun missy, it's my stand!"
Y/N only kept nearing closer and closer and waited for an opening to show up, trying to stay careful if Hol Horse tries to sneak in any headshots. Then she started to run.
She began to run as if her life depended on it and charged toward him catching him severely off guard, he fired two more bullets and one of them hit Y/N's leg, but she wasn't even fazed.
Something grabbed Hol Horse by the back of his neck and held him in place as Y/N grabbed his wrists and Half&Half punched him repeatedly in the face, yelling, "DURARARARARARARA-RA!" preventing him from summoning his gun in time and leaving him all bloodied and bruised.
Hol Horse stood up once again and attempted to launch a counter-attack, but then Y/N began to flex them muscles in intimidation which sent him running for his life. Hol Horse was the guy who was only in it for the money, just like Yellow Temperance. He was too cowardly to dedicate his own life to kill a girl he didn't know.
"Yea!" Y/N cheered as she gave a high-five to her helper, Jotaro. He gave her a confident grin back and then turned to see Joseph trailing not too far behind him.
"Oh my god!" Joseph panted as he ran towards us and noted my pretty bloody leg. "DID YOU GET SHOT?! GET AN AMBULANCE IMMEDIATELY! JOTARO COME ON!"
"Mr. Joestar!" I shouted to bring him back to his senses, "I'm fine, see?" I erased the armor I was wearing which was actually a pretty sturdy bulletproof suit. "There's no puncture wound, it's only bloody and bruised because of the impact of the bullet. I'll be fine."
Seems that the closer the items are in close proximity to Half&Half, the more sturdy and stronger they are. But my range is pretty big, to be honest, maybe even a little bigger than Hierophant Green's. Even then the items don't disappear if they are out of range just become a little less stable. Which is why my bulletproof armor protected me so well back there.
"I see-" He replied but was cut off by the sight of Avdol lying motionless on the street. "My old friend!" He yelled and held him in his arms, his hands becoming stained with red by the second.
"Oh my god! What happened?!" He turned to look at me and then glanced back at Avdol. I held my tears back as I replied, "We were too late to save him. He was shot in the head by Hol Horse and stabbed in the back by Centerfold."
"Dammit," Jotaro growled as he picked up a bloody bandana that Avdol wore, gripping it tightly in his hand to hold on to at least one piece of memory of his friend.
But while everybody was blinded by the pain and tears of losing Avdol, I noticed something mind-blowing.
"Wait, Mr.Joestar. Since you're holding him right now, tell me is he still warm to the touch?!" I yelled and Joseph quickly checked by touching his hand.
"Y-yes." He mumbled eyes widened at what I was trying to imply. I quickly bent down towards Avdol and grabbed his wrist to check for a pulse.
I could not believe my eyes, ears, or brain. Avdol was...
"HE'S ALIVE! He still has a heartbeat!" I yelled. We then all scrambled to check for the headshot wound, which was only a slightly grazed forehead!
"Quick we need to take him to the hospital!" Joseph yelled and picked Avdol up. Meanwhile, I quickly summoned a car to take us there faster.
Luckily the shot wasn't fatal, but we still needed to treat the stab wound caused by Centerfold...that reminds me, Kakyoin and Polnareff must be fighting him right now! Oh god, I hope they're alright.

After we left Avdol in the hospital, we headed back to our previous location in search of Kakyoin and Polnareff. Joseph warned me not to say a word to Polnareff because Avdol needs a chance to rest and avoid any possibility of him being taken out by another enemy because of Polnareff's big mouth.
"Oh come on, he was the most affected by it, we gotta tell him!" I tried to protest on Polnareff's behalf but even Jotaro backed up the old man telling me, "He can't know, but you should tell Kakyoin since he knows how to keep his mouth shut."
"Keep what shut?" Kakyoin and Polnareff suddenly appeared from the corner of a building and I gasped in surprise. I then ran to go hug the two as tight as I could, happy that they were okay.
"W-woah!" Polnareff chuckled as he returned the gesture. "I didn't know you were that happy to see us." I gave him a swift bonk on the head at the remark. "You big dunce! I was worried!"
And even though it looked like a sense of relief washed over Kakyoin, he refused to make eye contact with me and it almost looked like he was scowling.
"What's wrong?" I turned to face him, and his face soon began to display a mix of fear, anger, and worry on his face as he replied, "Y/N, that was absolutely reckless! You left yourself with a stand user who could shoot you in the head within a second! I was...I was worried too!"
"Kakyoin..." I muttered not knowing what to say, and then I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"She wasn't alone, I made sure she had help." Jotaro backed me up, which seemed to put Kakyoin more at ease as he replied, "I see, thank you."
"Anyways" Joseph coughed, "I heard about Centerfold, did you defeat him?"
Kakyoin nodded and Polnareff clenched his fist and looked up to the sky as if to tell the whole world, "I got my revenge, Sherry can be at peace now...but Avdol..." He began to sulk at the supposed memory of his friend dying.
I wanted to say something, I really did! But I knew that it was best not to say anything. The whole group fell silent either from the sadness, or to restrain themselves from not telling the other about the news.
"Don't worry, we gave Avdol a proper burial, we need to move on in his memory." Joseph tried to console Polnareff and he gave a look of appreciation back.
He then took in a breath and was about to say something until a certain someone showed up. AGAIN.
"HA! GOT YA KNOW SUCKERS!" Hol Horse showed up out of nowhere and in pure desperation raised his gun at us and was near seconds from pulling the trigger. But he was swung down immediately by Silver Chariot who was about to kill him.
"You! The stab wound may not have killed him, but your headshot did! Hope you're ready to repent for your sins in hell, just like your buddy Centerfold-"
A sudden breeze picked up from the corner of where we were standing and tackled Polnareff with all their might, it was...a girl?!
"Please run Sir Hol Horse! I don't know what's happening, but I will protect you with my life!" She cried letting the damn bastard get away again!
He ran faster than his feet could carry him and tipped his hat at her. "Thank you, and remember I'm only running away because I love you!"
"Get off me bitch!" Polnareff growled and tried to chase after Hol Horse but she wouldn't let go. He tried to fight her off but only ended up dragging her across the dirt and gravel making her arms bleed...pretty bad.
"Polnareff! You're hurting her, it doesn't look like she's a stand user!" I pushed her away from him so she would no longer get hurt.
"And you!" I bent down to her level and wrapped her arms in some gauze that I summoned, "You're being manipulated, he's a bad guy!"
She pouted and her face twisted into a very stingy scowl, "My Hol Horse is the love of my life, I would do anything for him!"
Joseph being the gentlemen he is, helped her up to her feet but somehow, even though I wrapped her wound with gauze, a tiny speck of blood went on his hand. But I didn't think too much of it.
"Listen..." Polnareff muttered as he caught all of our attention, "Avdol made me realize that not asking others for help would only bring the impending doom of others. And with that, I apologize, to Avdol and everybody else. I'm sorry, and I'll keep on living for everybody else. That is a promise."
"We'll make it to Egypt together. We will defeat all evil and save the ones we love, that is my promise." I smiled and glanced at everybody's expression which was that of comfort and confidence that we will all make it. Together.
"Good grief." Jotaro gave a faint chuckle, "Let's all head to Varanasi for now."
Everybody nodded in compliance and set out for the journey ahead. Varanasi hm? That's the city where the Ganges river is, I heard it's essential to Hindu culture and the public living there in general. I guess I just have to look at the upside, for now, I've always wanted to explore different places physically, rather than just reading about them from my books.
Walking along a dirt path I caught a glance at Kakyoin and he seemed to notice.
"You're not mad at me are you?" I muttered under my breath, "I had a plan, I'm not that careless you know?" I silently hoped that he didn't actually hear me, but he gave a solemn smile and shook his head.
"Why would I be mad at you? It was just a spur of emotions kinda thing, I'm sorry if it looked that way." He apologized, "I was just really worried about you. You are my best friend and I couldn't stand to see you hurt."
"Honestly I'd feel the same way even if I knew what you were doing. I make a best friend promise to you that I'll never do something reckless like that again unless I absolutely had to." I stuck out my pinkie and he did too, making a pinkie promise to ourselves that we will stay safe.
Heading towards a bus station, the mood was more upbeat now that everybody could get their apologies and priorities set in order. Joseph kept scratching his arm repeatedly for some reason, and I barely noticed the girl from before trailing behind us.
"All aboard!" The bus driver yelled as we got to the station. "Next stop, Varanasi!"
