"This is why you should've taken your car!" Steve says, speeding off to the house. I shake my head, continuously trying to reach Eddie through the walkie-talkie, but I still get no answer.

"Eddie! Eddie!" I scream through the walkie-talkie, but he doesn't answer, and I sigh, giving up on it. There's no way that Jason found him already, there's no fucking way. As soon as Lucas told us we came here, and there's no way Lucas told them where we found Eddie.

"I was lying so I wouldn't have to drive." I shrug, and he looks at me through the mirror. "Yeah, I'm aware." He says, and I roll my eyes, looking over at Max to see that she was already looking at me with the same look on her face.

"Can you hurry up?!" I yell, and Steve slams on his breaks, stopping completely in the middle of the road, sending all of us forward. "What the hell?" Max yells, sitting back in her seat while we all look at Steve crazily.

"Are you insane?" I yell at him, fixing my hair and sitting back in my seat.

He turns around to look at us, and we look at him confused. "Listen, I'm the one who's driving you to save your little boyfriend, so spare me the yelling! I knew I should've gone with Nancy, but once again, I'm the God damn babysitter." He rants, letting out a sigh and waiting for a reply.

"You done yet Steve?" I reply shortly, looking away from him and out the window. I'm not going to deal with him and his random spurts of anger.

"Dude, you're in the middle of the road!" Dustin yells at him, motioning for him to drive, and Steve turns back around and begins driving again. Dustin looks at me sympathetically, and I give him a small smile, looking back out of the window.

As he drives, we sit in silence, and I'm shaking my leg, trying to figure out what I'm going to do if I run into Jason here. I understand his reasoning, but what happened to people letting the police do their job?

Jason isn't going to do anything but get in the way of what we're trying to do. He's just in the way, and the last thing we need right now is him finding Eddie. Steve slows down as we pull up to the house, and my eyes widen when I see a car in the driveway.

"Whose car is that?" Dustin asks, and I shrug, being just as confused as him.

"Shit, just- wait for five fucking minutes so I can make sure he's okay. Jason is literally on a manhunt." I say, frantically looking outside for Eddie, or whoever is in that car. "What? No, you're not going alone." Steve says, and I ignore him. He might be right, but I really don't want him trying to act like a superhero right now.

"Max, come with me. Stand at the door, and if anything happens you'll be there." I say to her, and she rolls her eyes, opening the door and getting out. "That's still a dumb idea."

"I can protect myself. And if all else fails, Max and I are just confused girls who got lost. We'll be fine." I say to him, and he rolls his eyes before replying, "God. Fine- fine go!" Steve says, rubbing his face in defeat.

"Wait, he needs something to protect himself," I say, throwing stuff around in his car and looking for any type of weapon that could be here. You would think after saving Hawkins a couple times that this guy would keep weapons in his car. I spot Steve's infamous bat, and he immediately begins to shake his head no. "No. Sam, absolutely not."

"He needs something!" I argue, and he continues to shake his head, not wanting to let me take the bat. "Not my bat!" He argues back, and I groan. If I had the time I would literally take every piece of hair out of his fucking scalp.

"It's just a bat." I say, and Dustin groans, knowing that we're going to continue to argue about it.

"It's MY bat." He replies, crossing his arms across his chest. "You're a toddler."

"Find something else." He shrugs, and I close my eyes and take a deep breath, trying not to curse him out. "Do you have anything else? I'm not leaving him here with nothing while Jason pretends to be a fucking vigilante, and we don't have time to take him back to the motel."

"No."

I stare at him, and he stares back. We both don't blink, waiting for each other to give in, but I refuse to let him win. I could tell that Dustin and Max were looking at us like we were crazy, but I continue to wait for Steve to break.

The silence is extremely loud, but I could tell that Steve was close to giving in. He squints his eyes, and so do I as I wrap my hand around the bat.

"Fuck. Fine, fine, but if he breaks or loses my bat, that's on you." He finally breaks, and I smile, getting out of the car and walking towards the little shed. Max follows slowly behind me, and I tell her to stop as I walk into the shed.

It was empty, too empty. I look at where Eddie was sitting and I see the walkie-talkie that he is supposed to keep on him at all times. I sigh, trying not to get too worried about it, and I pick it up, walking back out of the shed and handing it to Max.

"He's not in there?" She whispers, and I shake my head no, looking over at the unrecognizable car. I think about what to do for a second, turning my head to look back at Max. "Go back to the car."

"What? No, I'm not leaving you alone." She argues, and I groan, throwing my head back. "Max, please, for once, just listen to your older sister." I say back, and she doesn't budge.

"I am fine. If I'm not back out in 10 minutes, then you can come in." I say, and I can tell she is thinking about it for a second before she finally gives in. "9 minutes, 58 seconds and counting." She says, looking down at her watch, and I nod, walking away from her.

I walk to the back door of the house, trying to peek in any window, but they're all covered. I try to open the door, but it's locked.

Shit.

I try to remember what Hopper taught me about picking locks, but honestly, my mind is blank.

"Promise me that you won't use this kowledge for anything stupid, kid." Hopper says, and I laugh at him. "I promise, it just might come in handy one day."

"Hopefully, you won't ever have to do this." He says as he explains the different objects that I could use to pick different types of locks. "See this knife? It serves multiple purposes. If a boy ever breaks your heart, I'll use it to break into his house, and then use it to stab him." He says seriously.

I giggle at him as he stabs the air, pretending to stab someone. "I got it, Hop, I believe you."

I walk to the front of the house, looking under anything that might have an extra key hidden under it. I cover my face in frustration, trying not to yell.

Everyone has a spare key hidden somewhere, and just becuase this guy is a drug dealer doesn't put him out of that list. I look at the car again, trying to remember where I've seen it before, but I look away, trying to focus on finding the key.

I look under a nearby rock, and I hear a jingle. I look down to see that a key had fallen on the ground. I pick it up, rushing to the back door again, sticking it in the lock. I struggle, but I eventually get the door open, and I walk in, scanning the room for Eddie, or anyone else who might be in here.

"Eddie? Eddie?" I say frantically, and I look over to see him standing behind the kitchen counter, and I look at him confused. I open my mouth to speak, but I glance over to see a girl standing there pointing a gun at me. I frown, putting my hands up, but Eddie puts his hand out to stop her.

What the fuck?

She looks at me for a moment, then she looks back at Eddie, lowering her gun. "Are you okay?" I ask, and I fully open the door, walking into the kitchen. I set the walkie-talkie down on the table, and Eddie looks at me confused as he walks over to me. "It hasn't been that long, are you okay?" He questions and I glance over to the mystery girl, trying to get him to understand that I can't say anything in front of her, whoever she is.

"Can you give us a moment?" He asks her, and she hesitates, but nods, walking out of the room and into another one, shutting the door behind her. I look at him weirdly, but I shake it off, beginning to talk.

"Who is that?" I ask, and he looks at the door, and then back at me. "That's Jackie."

"Who's Jackie?" I ask, confused as to why when I was about to have a heart attack to find him, he was sitting in the kitchen with some girl I'd never seen in my life. He smiles at my question, and I look at him even more confused. "My dealer's sister. Speaking of, I have an idea. What if we stay here, instead of the motel? It's free and it's still hidden." He says, and I blink, still trying to process everything.

"Do you know them well?" I ask. Why does he expect me to sleep in his dealer's house with his dealer's sister?

"I trust them. It's fine." He replies, and I sigh, running my fingers through my hair. He changes the topic, trying to go back to why I'm here. "What happened though?"

"Jason and the rest of those basketball freaks are looking for you. He's angry about Chrissy, and they're on some sort of manhunt for you." I say, sitting down on the couch, and he sits down next to me. I'm glad he's okay, but I'm still pissed he didn't keep the walkie-talkie on him.

"I'm not worried about Jason and his friends." He shrugs, and I keep the same serious look on my face. "What's wrong? I'm not worried about those assholes."

"I'm not saying you should be, but you should be." I say, trying to get him to understand what I'm saying.

"What, you don't think I can take them?" He asks, jokingly flexing my muscles, and that's what finally makes me smile. He smiles as well, and I just shake my head at him. He's good at turning bad situations into good. "Have you ever been in a fight?" I joke back.

"Plenty." He replies, and I look at him in disbelief, there's no way he's been in a fight. "When?" I ask.

"I've had many fights with my uncle.." He trails off, continuing to joke around. I laugh at him, but I know he's just trying to change the topic. "Tell me what really has you stressed out." He says, putting his hand on my leg which nearly makes me scream.

"Lucas is with them, and he says they're crazy. I just don't want him to find you and try to do something crazy or call the police or what if these people aren't trustworthy and they tell the polic-" I ramble, and he cuts me off, pushing my hair behind my ears and placing his lips on mine. At first, I'm shocked, but I couldn't help but kiss him back. He pulls back, looking at me, and I nearly melt in his big, brown eyes.

I know we shouldn't do this, but I can't stop myself.

"Can I kiss you again?" He asks, and I nod, and he immediately crashes his lips into mine, gripping the side of my face with his hands. I smile, continuing to kiss him, not wanting to stop.

I put my fingers in his hair, pulling him as close to me as I could.

He grabs my waist, pulling me over to sit on his lap. His hands on me sends chills down my spine, and the feeling is euphoric. I have to control myself though, we can't keep going, we can't go too far.

I can't get attached.

I begin trying to talk, but he kisses me in between all of the words.

"We."

Kiss.

"Should."

Kiss.

"Stop."

Kiss.

A sigh escapes my lips as we both pause for a second, resting our foreheads on each other's, trying to catch our breath. I giggle, biting my lip as I look at him. He licks his lips, smiling at me. "Okay, I have to go." I say, remembering that at any moment Max could be coming through the door, thinking I'm dead.

"Woah, Woah, Woah- Where are you going?" He asks, standing up and blocking me from walking out of the door. "Steve, Dustin, and Max are in the car. They're waiting for me, I was just supposed to come to check on you and warn you." I reply, and he groans.

"Can I come? When are you coming back?" He questions me, and I giggle at him. For one, things were getting really steamy really fast, and for two, I really have to go.

"No, you cannot come. I'll be back in a few hours." I say, "What are you going to do?" He asks, frowning at my answer.

"Oh shit. I forgot to tell you. We got the keys to get into the office of that shrink at your school. We're going to try to see if Fred and Chrissy had any similarities in what they said." I say excitedly, knowing that we're getting closer to figuring everything out.

"So why can't I come?" He asks, and I laugh at the look on his face. "Because we're breaking and entering, and you already probably have a warrant for your arrest." I reply.

"But-"

"No. I'm going to come to get you when I get in my car again, we can get the stuff from the motel and come back here, okay?" I say, giving him a smile. I don't exactly trust staying here, but it's free, and he claims it's safe. He moves out of the way so that I can walk out of the door.

"Fine." He finally gives in.

"Fine." I reply, walking out and back towards the car. I'm trying to hide my face, which I'm sure is bright red. That kiss keeps running through my mind, and I keep smiling about it. I try to contain myself, I don't want anyone to know anything.

Robin is going to freak out.

Wait- no. I can't tell her, it was just one kiss, and it probably won't happen again, he was just trying to calm me down. I get back into the car, and everyone is looking at me weirdly.

Shit, shit, shit. They know.

"What?" I ask, closing the door and fastening my seatbelt. My heart was racing, and I was trying to calm down before they say anything to me. "You left the bat outside." Dustin says, and I look over at the bat, trying not to laugh. I completely forgot about the bat. I was so focused on him.

I get out of the car again, walking to the side of the house where the bat is. I grab it, walking over to the door and knocking on it softly. "It's Sam!" I yell out, trying not to have another gun pointed at me.

Eddie swings open the door, looking down at me smirking, "You just can't resist me, huh?" I look down, blushing, and I reach my hand out with the the bat in it. "What is this?" He asks, grabbing it from my hand.

"It's um, for protection. Just in case Jason comes." I say quietly, suddenly feeling shy around him. "It's cute that you think I need protection." He replies, looking at the bat, analyzing it.

"You made this?" He asks, and I shake my head no. "Jonathan did." I reply, and he looks at me confused. "You remember Jonathan from high school," I say, and he looks like he's trying to remember.

"Steve's ex's new boyfriend?" He asks, and I nod my head yes, and he laughs. "Wait, so Johnathan knew about all of this shit before me?"

"Did you forget that Will is his brother../" I trail off, and he laughs again, "Oh my God, I forgot that the kid who went missing was a Byers." His laugh makes me laugh, and I smile, looking up at him.

"You haven't met him, I forgot. You'll see him at graduation though, I'm sure they're coming to see Nance."

"Is he as weird as the others?" He laughs, and I playfully roll my eyes at him.

"You mean as weird as you?" I joke.

"I see you have jokes for days, Mayfield." Eddie says looking down at me, then licking his lips and looking at my lips. His eyes meet mine, and my joking demeanor instantly fades away. I look away, looking back up to see that his gaze hasn't left mine.

We both jump, hearing the horn of a car, and I sigh, "I have to-" I stop, pointing towards the door, and he nods, understanding.

"Yeah, no- go." He says, and I nod, turning away. "See you.." I start.

"Later." We say in unison, and we both smile. "Bye." I say awkwardly, and he just laughs as I make my way back to the car again. Why did I say bye like that? I actually want to punch myself. Dustin looks at me weirdly through the window, and I look away from him, opening the door and getting in again.

"Finally." Steve says, putting the car in drive and pulling off. "Sorry. I was literally at gunpoint." I say, and Max snaps her head towards me.

"What?!" She yells, and I look over at her. "Apparently Reefer Rick has a sibling. His sister was there with Eddie. They thought I was a robber or something." I say, telling them the story like being held at gunpoint is normal, but with everything that happens here, it is normal.

"You know what that means..." Steve says, laughing, reaching his hand out and Dustin slaps it. "Uh, what does it mean?" I ask, sitting up in my seat to listen.

"He's staying in a house, with a drug dealer's sister, who is probably hot." Steve says, and I'm still waiting for a better explanation than that. "She's cute, but I'm confused."

"Dude, they're definitely going to bone." Steve says, and him and Dustin laugh while the idea of Eddie sleeping with that girl runs through my mind. "Why do you think they're going to have sex?" I question, trying to hide the annoyance in my voice.

"If you know, you know." Steve answers again, driving towards the school. I roll my eyes at him, and I sit back in my seat, trying to avoid eye contact with everyone. I can't be mad, he has every right to sleep with anyone he wants to, and kiss everyone he wants to.

Did he kiss her?

Are they kissing right now?

"What's wrong?" Max asks, touching my shoulder, and I look at her, putting a fake smile on my face. "Nothing. It's just been a long day." I say, and she gives me a look. I know my sister, and I know she knows me, so she can tell if something is off.

"Talk later?" She whispers, and I nodm and she turns the other way. She knows I want to be left alone, and I'm thanking her for doing so. Steve pulls into the parking lot of the school, parking his car quite far so that it doesn't look suspicious.

"Dustin do you copy?" Robin says through the walkie-talkie, and Dustin picks it up, talking back. "Yeah, I copy." He replies as Steve opens the door, letting all of us walk in after him.

"So, Nancy's a genius. Vecna's first vitcims date back all the way to 1959. Her shot in the dark was a bull's-eye." Robin says, and I hear rustling, she must be walking outside.

"Okay, that's totally bonkers, but I can't really talk right now." Dustin says as we quickly walk through the halls.

"Wait- what are you doing?" Robin asks, and Dustin groans before answering, "Breaking and entering school to retrieve some confidential and extremely personal files."

"Can you repeat that?" She questions, and I grab the walkie-talkie from Dustins hand.

"We're breaking into the shrinks office to get some information, can you just get your ass over here? We'll explain." I say, handing the walkie-talkie back to Dustin and following Max to the office, flashing my flashlight so she can unlock the door.

She puts the key in, unlocking the door, and we all follow her. I look around the dark, dusty office, getting an eerie feeling. "It's like a mini watergate or something." Dustin says as we all shine our flashlights around the room.

"Holy shit." Max says, flipping through the files. "You found it?" Dustin asks, and we all walk over to her so that we could see it too.

"Yeah. And you were right, Fred was seeing Ms. Kelley too." She says, pulling out his file, and I grab it from her hands, setting it down on the desk. I begin to scan through it, seeing the usual things that someone would talk to a therapist about. There was nothing that stood out, or seemed unsual about their visits, they seemed like normal sessions.

"Let me look." Max says, and I slide over so that she could sit in the chair and look. I pick up Chrissy's file, immediately getting flashbacks upon seeing her face in it. Her's consisted of the same thing, except her's included the hallucinations that she was seeing.

"I don't understand. These seem like normal things. Chrissy complained about a headache, and not being able to sleep, nightmares and shit, nosebleeds, but that's not out of the ordinary." I say, continously flipping through the pages in her file. Maybe Ms. Kelley was right, nothing Chrissy said could help us.

Max turns to look at me, worry on her face. "What?" I ask, and she's not listening to me, she's thinking about something. "Let me see Chrissy's file." She says, and I hand her the file, and she lines it up with Fred's. She reads the files, going silent, and staring off into space.

"Max? What is it?" Dustin asks, but she doesn't answer, she just continues to daydream. "Max, seriously. What's wrong?" I ask, but she doesn't answer.

"Max, come on, Max!" Dustin yells, and fear washes over my body, getting deja vu from Chrissy.

"Peaceful bliss, just moments away." I hear him say as he's walking down and back into the living room. I quickly sit down to pee, trying to be quiet so I could hear their conversation. "Chrissy?" I hear him say.

After I finish, I stand up to wash my hands, and I hear him continuously repeating her name. What the hell are they out there doing? I dry my hands, walking out to see Chrissy standing still and Eddie waving his hand in her face.

"Chrissy! Hey Chrissy wake up!" He says loudly, and I look at her confused. She seemed to just be stuck there, almost as if she was in a trance. "What is she doing?" I ask, and he looks back at me with the same confused look on his face.

"I have no idea." He replies and he continues to wave his hand and snap his fingers in her face. "Chrissy. Hello?"

I walk closer to them, seeing her face, and she really seemed to be out of it. I shake her body a bit, also saying her name. "Eddie what the hell was in that weed?" I ask, and he looks at me like I'm crazy.

"There was nothing in the weed. That's like the lightest shit I got, she just be on something else." He replies as he begins to say her name again and the lights begin to flicker. My heart drops as they flicker, and flashbacks from the previous things in Hawkins begin to race through my mind.

"What the hell?" Eddie says, and my heart begins to race from fear as I look around the room at all of the lights flickering. "Eddie.." I trail off, and his head snaps to look at me, "What? What the hell is going on?" He yells

"Something bad. Something bad is going to happen I feel it!" I yell back at him, and he looks at me with wide eyes before looking back at Chrissy. "Chrissy. Wake up, Chrissy! Chrissy, wake up! I don't like this, Chrissy! Wake up!" He frantically yells.

"Eddie.. EDDIE! Her feet!" I yell, and he looks down and we both watch in disbelief as her feet began to rise from the ground. "What the fuck?" He whispers in shock, and I get closer to him, softly grabbing the arm of his jacket.

He doesn't move, I don't think he cares that I was gripping onto his jacket. We were both watching Chrissy fucking levitate into the air. We're both silent, in shock at what was happening in front of us.

We both watch as her legs snap, along with her hands, and her jaw. We both let our piercing screams, holding onto each other, as her eyes pop out of her head, and her body falls to the ground. Tears fall from my eyes as I rush over to her body, I scream again upon seeing her again.

I look at Steve with tears in my eyes, and he begins to shake Max to wake her up. "Max! Max!" He yells, and I start to shake her along with him.

"Max!" I scream, trying to calm myself down and think of what to do.

"Max, wake up!"
