Hunters pov
The room was quite again. Edric finished wrapping my back before sitting down next to me, careful not to make eye contact.
Did he hate me now? Ugh why did i have to make things weird.
"Hunter-" Edric started before stopping himself.
"yeah?"
"nevermind." Edric said, "Em says the reason i keep scareing my crushes away is my dumb questions so-"
"Crushes?" I blushed, "haha i mean whats the question?"
"Sorry, you dont have to talk about it but you have a lot of scars on your back- everywhere for that matter."
"yeah," I chuckled, "I was raised in the emperors coven -i think you know that- but things there were brutal."
Edric looked over at me with his pretty golden eyes. "im sorry.."
"Uh nah its nothing." I said, brushing it off.
"Dude that one goes down almost your entire spine!"
"Well what do ya know?" I tried laughing "It was just a scuffle i got in with some demon. It was pretty big i guess. Never saw anything like it."
I felt a warm hand on my shoulder. I looked over at Edric who was listening intently.
"Um..." I said, suddenly overwhelmed.
Before i could try stop them tears began falling down my cheeks. "Shit im sorry Edric."
"What for?" He looked horrified.
"I showed up randomly and you let me in, now you have to deal with my dumb crying."
"Would you say you feel like a burden?" Ed asked, my ears priked up.
"Yeah."
"I may have never dealt with the emperors coven, but i do know a bit about insecurity." Ed gave me a weak smile. "Your crying isent dumb, and honestly i would like you to show up randomly more often."
My tears began to fall faster and i beagan to quiver a little.
"Ahh shistshitshit im sorry- i made it worse didnt i.."
My throat was to choked up to speak but i managed to shake my head. I still wasent used to people being nice to me i guess.
I want to hug him so badly. I suddenly thought, feel his probly very soft face pressed up against my chest. Wrap my fingers in his soft green hair-
Hunter no! I told myself. Stop thinking weird things. Besides my back is all burnt up so he couldent hug you anyway.
I wiped my eyes and took a deep breath. i was so wrapped up in my thoughts i hadent nodiced that edric had gotten up and fetched me some water.
I took it from him my hands shakeing.
"Thank you." I took a drink and felt much better immediatly.
"Yeah anytime." He smiled back. Sitting down again.
"Ahem- ill leave as soon as the rain clears up." I said, checking out the window.
As if on cue a clap of lightning lit up the sky and the rain beagn to pour down harder.
"I guess thats going to be a while." Edric smiled sheepishly, "Want to head upstairs?"
