Talon's POV
It didn't feel long till the sun had woken me.
I opened my eyes and released my wing was under Kai's. To be honest his whole wing was on me. I shook my head as I rose it.
I yawned and shook it again. My eyes where starting to adjust but the sun wasn't actually fully up.
The sky was just the mix of blue with a deep red at the horizon. Pink clouds lined the mountain range.
Kai was also starting to wake and he moved his wing off me. Allowing me to stretch mine.
I stood up and did a small cat stretch as Kai rose his head and shook it. I started forward to the cliff opening and felt the chill morning air on my light yellow scales.
It reminded me of the first time I released most dragon Dragonborn have different shaded scales to there Dragonborn counter part.
Kai came up beside me. "You feel like a fly?" He asked. "I think I'm getting the hang of being a dragon." He chuckled.
I smiled. "Of course." I said taking off. He followed my action.
Lloyds POV
We had stayed at the hospital all night but no one showed. Jay and Cole didn't call to say they found anything so we where definitely confused.
Zane tried to add it up but all we came to was that they moved there "attack" time.
Pixal had stoped by with a water bottle and some snacks. "Anything?" Shed asked. We shook our heads and she drove back to the monastery.
"Anything from Jay or Cole?" I suddenly asked Zane. He shook his head again like he'd done ever other time I had asked.
Finally the sun had broke the horizon and Zane suggested I head back and get some sleep.
"No...Kai...needs some talking to.." I said. "And I can do that. And I do not require sleep." Zane replied.
"I have already informed Pixal. So you will be heading back." Zane order. To be honest after this whole situation started he had been starting to be almost more agitated. I sighed.
A few minutes later Pixal had dropped off my car. "I will hold your place until tonight." She said. With that I was off back to the monastery. But not before making a detour to the library.
Talon's POV
The fly was nice but not long. It was more of a wake up fly and once we where both awake we landed back at the cliff cave opening.
"I just released how hungry I am." He said looking over the cliff to the small forest below.
"We could go hunting." I suggested. "Sure." He said diving off the cliff.
We land in a clearing and waited. "Invisibility would help." I told him. He nodded before going invisible.
I did the same and it only took a small amount of time for the forest to come alive.
I heard a large rustle and a heard herd of deer came out of the bush.
I didn't miss a beat and jumped on two of them. I then snapped there necks for a quick death and became visible.
Kai became visible and grabbed one of the deer. I started eating but he seemed to just smell it.
"It's fine. You can eat raw meat while in this form." I said. "I know I just....doesn't look appetizing." He said sniffing it again.
"Just try it." I said biting one of the legs off mine.
He finally built up the courage and took a bite. It didn't take long for him to finish.
"I have to admit...it did taste ok." He said. I bumped my shoulder into his.
I then took off and he did too.
Lloyds POV
The library was quiet when I entered. There weren't many people around but the few that where where reading.
I then spotted two familiar body's slumped over a pile of books and scrolls.
I walked over to them and shook them a wake. "You guys look worse then me." I chuckled and Jay sat up and stretched.
"I feel worse." Cole said stretching his back. "Find anything?" I asked shuffling through the scrolls.
"Most we could find on brain washing was that the affected person would drink something. But his dragon girlfriend thingy..." I glared at him and as he stoped mid sentence.
"Well I didn't mean it in that way." He said shrinking a bit. "Anyway.." Cole picked up for Jay. "She wasn't carrying anything. But she could have been feeding it to him whilst they where in hiding." He finished.
"We all need sleep...Pixal dropped off my car, I can take you guys back with me." They nodded as they gathered the scrolls.
We all crammed into my vehicle and drove back to the monastery.
Talon's POV
We landed back at the opening of the hidden temple cave thing.
"So what should we do now?" Kai asked. "Our best bet is to go tonight...then I can remove that scale." I said.
"As much as I don't want it gone..." "It's for the best." I finished for him and he nodded.
"In the mean time...I could tell you how I got my name." I said remembering that part of my life.
"You mean your name wasn't always Talon?" He asked. I shook my head and laid down. He followed.
"It is sacred to have a different name per form. Like our dragon for would have a different name then our Dragonborn form. But it was slowly dumb down to one name to be changed once you figured out you where part dragon...dragon."
"My name for my Dragonborn was Talia..." "Talia? That's pretty." Kai said. I nodded. "My parents liked it two but I couldn't pronounce it...so it go changed to Talon once I had my dragon form."
"So what your saying is...is that I need a dragon name." Kai smiled. "I guess...if you want to but I don't know if it'll be used." I said. "And mine was more shortened as I had a dragon form....Kai can't really be shortened." I stated.
"But it can be made longer." He said standing. I didn't stand but I watched him walked around.
"Imagine....I swooping in." He spread his wings to the fullest. "And Kairain comes flying in." He finished with a little jump.
I snickered. "Kairain? Sounds like migraine." I laughed. "Well do you have any ideas?" He asked walking back over to me.
"How about....Kalahan?" I said looking up at him.
He laid down beside me. "Kalahan...I like it." He said nudging my snout. "Knew it." I said smiling.
"Well are we gunna sleep all day?" He said placing his head on the ground.
"How about a fly. See how long you can really hold your invisibility." I said cocky.
He smiled. "Your on." He called running off the edge. I shook my head and followed.
Lloyds POV
It was a short ride to the monastery.
We walked in and looked around. "Guess I'm not used to Kai not fighting the dummy's." Cole said walking forward. I nodded.
Usually when Kai was left alone that's what he did. We walked in and sat at the main dinning area.
"So what else did you find?" I asked as Cole dropped the scrolls. He started to spread them out.
"Turns out brainwashing is not that hard." He said pointing to one scroll. "Huh." I said as I started to read the quite simple tea you could make.
"Weird...you think master Wu ever did any of these teas?" Jay asked.
"If not him Mistakei probably." I stated.
"Should we ask him?" Cole wondered. "I'll go talk to him." I said.
I walked over to where he usually mediated and walked in. "What troubles you Lloyd?" Wu asked opening one eye.
"We where wondering...." I didn't know if I should tell him about Kai.... "Have you ever tried brainwashing someone...like with tea?" I asked.
He sighed. "There is a tea that allows one to do that...but no I have never attempted it....your father..has tried to usher me to do so but I have never done so." He said.
"Ok." I said as I started out the door. "Oh Lloyd?" He called me. I looked at him. "Don't always assume that people are really there to do harm." He said. I shook my head. "You speak in riddles uncle." I chuckled and left.
Wu's POV
I sighed as he closed the door. I closed my eyes and tried my smoke. This time for Kai.
I knew Lloyd and the others had found out about him..but I did not think they had thought he was brainwashed.
I moment later an image popped into my smoke.
It was of a map. Then a temple that seamed to be under ground. It then was the map again.
I took a mental photo and stood up. I gathered my thing and walked out.
It was simple enough to get past the team without Zane or Pixal. But even Kai and Nya, the two Smith siblings where good at sporting things out of the corner of there eyes.
I finally left the gates and started down the mountain...what was that temple was the only question in my mind.
And why did it seam so familiar...
Talon's POV
"I WON THAT TIME!" Kai called doing a loop in the sky. "Ya ya...only because I let you." I said with a smile. "Oh come on. Invisibility is my thing." He said flying above me.
I rolled my eyes. "But flying is my thing." I said with a quick barrel roll dive.
I then steadied out with a glide. "Ya ya." He said rolling his eyes. "Wow we wasted...15 minutes?" I said looking up at the sun.
"You can tell the time by the sun?" Kai asked coming to a glide beside me. "That's why we use 24 hours. It's easier with the sun." I said.
"But how?" He ask looking at him. "The same way you know what the sun looks like on a digital clock. When you look at a clock and it says 12 you know the suns ruffly in the centre of the sky. That's the same for me...just backwards."
"I know I've only spent like three or four days with you but I feel like I've known you for longer. Then you pull this crap and I remember." He said with a laugh.
I laughed as well. "There's a river down there if you want to take a brake?" I said spotting a small line of water. "Race you." Kai said hurdling down to it.
"DEAL!" I called back diving after him.
Wu's POV
It did not take me long to get there. But it was a large cave. I started forward into it.
The cave was long but with a bit of a walk I made it to the end wall.
My lantern showed nothing around me. But above me...was a different story.
"I'm to old for this..." I said to my self. I put down my lantern before I started up the hole in the ceiling.
After a long time of climbing I made it to the top.
There was a many torches lit up. Around 12 or so smouldering.
The thing was they where all smouldering around the same amount. So what ever lit these torches did it in one go. A human could not do so.
"Kai...what have you gotten yourself into." I whispered as I walked down the lit hallway.
Another round of walking put me in front of a large door. With boulders that seamed to be just moved. In all my years of living I can see when someone tried to hide something.
After a while of moving them out of the way I revealed a door. With what little strength I had I pushed it open.
I was just able to squeeze through before I heard something. I peered out of the door and could see two large figures coming toward the door.
WOOOOOW Omg this is my longest chapter yet. Over 2000 words. Definitely love this book and definitely love this story to the fullest.
