JONATHAN

KENT

~~~
'What did Jordan want?'
Jonathan ran his hands through his hair.
'It wasn't like he had wanted to follow me around unnecessarily again, well maybe it's not so unnecessary'
'... With Edge still around and all.'
'God, I should have told him'
'But I don't what to worry him'
Jonathan from his place laying in his bed.
Thought back on the time when he had told Jordan about his unfinished work from school that had been stock piled over the summer holiday back in sixth grade and how it had sent Jordan into a panic.
Leading to his brother bothering Jonathan about getting it done for a whole week, before there parents had found Jordan curled up under Jonathan's bed with all of his homework done, in messy scribbles, for his brother.
So Jonathan decided not to tell his brother, for now.
Jonathan knew he couldn't tell Jordan.
Just like that sixth grade summer.
Jordan would find a way to get whatever Jonathan was keeping from him.
Out of Jonathan.
As it was just the question of sooner or later, not really whether or not Jordan was going to find out.
So Jonathan shook the thought of Jordan and his ever inquisitive mind wanted, away.
Going back on his previous actions earlier that night.
'Did I make the right decision?'
Jonathan had thought so at the time, writing in swirly handwriting, leaning up against his grandfather's car.
Sharing a part of what Edge had done to Finley.
'What did Edge even want? With him'
'Doing all that shit. Finley said something about a "science experiment". But for what outcome? His own pleasure?'
Not that he knew the full extent of it.
Providing information to his grandad would not only allow for leniency from his grandfather.
Who above all valued compliance and knowledge when the time came for Finley to be exposed Edge's wrongful actions to the world.
Well maybe not the world Jonathan.
Jonathan was just being overly dramatic.
And had seen second hand what being a Magor celebrity could do to a person that didn't have the same will power as his dad.
'I know grandad can be harsh, when protecting humanity and all'
'He'd do the right thing. Right?'
Jonathan didn't have time to deliberate his actions any further.
As he heard the fimmler rush or wind from behind his bedroom door.
The same as he had heard that morning.
His dad was home.
And not slowing down?
Jonathan turned from his place on his bed.
Getting up and reaching for his door handle.
CLARK
KENT
~~~

Clark was still held up in his wifes car outside of Chrissy's office building.

Smiling slightly at passers-by every couple of minutes with the foil sheet covering his superman uniform from neck to toe.

For the first time since meeting 'the voice' ... No ... he had a name to place on the figure now.

For the first time since meeting 'Edge'.

Clark had time to himself.

To go over his own thoughts.

To go over all that had happened in the long day that was still not over with yet.

Pushing his glasses up more higher on his nose bridge.

'A key to his heritage?'

Clark had once hoped in milliseconds between coming to Edge's fortris and seeing the decaying red headed woman.

Before his dreams had been shattered by Edge's plans for world domination.

'No I already have a home here on earth ... With my family.'

Between the pauses in Clark thoughts he had heard a noise he'd had become familiar with over the years.

Looking out for it even when he was on Superman duty.

A sudden intake of breath.

Wheezing and panting.

The sudden rush of a heartbeat.

It was the wheezing and panting of Jordan.

Clark hadn't hired it since they had moved to SmallVille.

He thought that part of Jordan's life was behind them now.

Looking around seeing no-one on the streets around his Clark dashed home.

Leaving an empty seat of foil sheets behind in the Car.

Its door slightly opened in his wake.

Behind him.

JORDAN

KENT

~~~
Jordan after watching Jonathan go up stairs made his way after him.
Not to talk or anything just to linger around his door for a little while.
Opening his mouth to speck before his courage was beating down.
Jonathan was always better at facing situations head on then he was.
Before huddling to his own room in defeat.
Even standing outside Jonathan's door thinking of all the possible things he could say.
Made Jordan breath in sharply.
The air in his throat rushing into his lung but never quite finding its way out again.
Leading to Jordan breathing in more times then he would breathe out.
Forcing his chest into weird and abnormal puff motions.
Jordan was quiet.
Even to his own ears his breath only appeared to sound like harsh whispers.
Jordan tried to go along with his past therapist advice for panic attacks like this.
Slow repetitive breaths.
Counting to six breathing in.
Then four breathing out.
It helps a little.
Allowing for Jordan to take a step back from his thoughts.
Only now focusing on the heavy feeling in his chest like a pile of rocks in his stomach.
Weighing him down.
Jordan dropped to the floor.
Using his hands at the side of his bed to cushion his fall.
The saliva in his mouth was growing nonexistent.
Leaving his mouth feeling really cold and dry.
Jordan flipped his body.
Smacking his lips together.
Jordan couldn't help but notice in his panic that his lips had grown chapped.
His back leaning up against the side boarding of his bed.
Head in hands.
Looking at his room between his own knees.
From was dusted on the carpet below his feet.
How hadn't he noticed?
The air was stiff and friggid.
White wisps whispered in the air.
'What have I done?'
A fimmiler echo of red and blue appeared ammunsed the snow lining the air in his room.
CLARK
KENT
~~~

Clark flew into his home stopping short in his living room.

At the long dissipated burnt smell that garnered his attention.

Looking towards where the small was coming from.

The couch.

Its cushions were chard and burned.

'Jordan'

Looking up towards the second floor of his house.

Clark heard Jonathan in bed, which at that he quickly turned his attention away hearing Jordan gasping heavily.

Clark ran upstairs.

JONATHAN

KENT

~~~
As Jonathan stepped out of his room he was met with another gust of wind flowing past him.
Upending his shirt and hair.
He went to follow his dad.
His breath became visibly cold.
Stopping in front of Jordan's room door that he father had left open in his hast.
~~~

Jonathan was confronted by the image of his brother on the floor cradling his head.

With his father hugging Jordan into his chest, tucking his head under his chin.

With cold bursts of freeze breath coming out of his mouth visibly.

It looked quite the same as when Jonathan had seen his father on the news.

As Superman, stopping the Hoover Dam from flooding into Boulder City thar was below it.

Jonathan went to say something.

Opening his mouth slightly.

Before his dad looked up from his attention on Jordan and shook his head.

Jonathan stilled and hesitated for a moment before turning away from Jordan's room door and heading back to his own.

Jonathan had never wished more in that moment then to be able to call himself -

'Superman's son.'

~~~
JORDAN
KENT
~~~

Jordan hadn't noticed his father's presents in his room until he was swaddled in the man's arms.

Rocking back and forth.

Being told to calm down.

To breathe more consistently then he already was.

Gulping several times.

Hiding his eyes in his hands.

Jordan didn't see Jonathan's silent stare.

Or walk away.

If he had it would have sent him into more of a frustrated state then he was already in.

His dad placed his hands in the air between Jordans mouth.

~~~
CLARK
KENT
~~~

His fingerprints were covered in frost and ice.

Clark held in a wince.

The cold was biting.

'So that's why my mom had alway been insist that he wore a coat in the winter months'

Clark used his other hand to gently peel Jordan's hand away from his face.

Holding up his cold hand to Jordan's eyes.

Shocking him out of his trepidation.

JORDAN

KENT

~~~
"Dad?" Jordan looked up from his father's hand to his face.
"Ya Jordan." Clark smiled slightly, hiding his worried frown.
"Your home" Jordan stated.
Jordan stared bewildered at his father's hands.
"You wanna tell me what this was about?"
Jordan shook his head.
Pulling himself up from the floor and sitting on his bed.
Clark followed him.
Sitting beside me on the bed.
"Sure?"
Jordan sighed.
Looking at his dad.
Knowing that his silence would have been more telling then not.
Jordan racked his mind.
'School?, no to generic'
'Homework?, to basic ... I haven't stressed about that since like three summers ago'
'The trip, ... it's believable and easy to explain rather than you know talking about ... Jonathan'
"I guess ... It's the ... Football trip ... I've never played a proper away game before ... And with it against Jonathan's old team ... The evidential animosity is just getting to me ... Is all''
'Please believe me'
Jordan crossed his fingers behind his back.
He had always had been a terrible liar.
"Well I'm gonna be there ... If that makes a difference and Jonathan was always really close with his teammates I'm sure it's going to be fine ... And if you wanna you know sit this one out I'm sure coach will let you sit out"
Jordan chuffed at that.
"And become Jonathan ... Superglue to the beach ... Absolutely not"
Clark only half smiled at that and patted Jordan on the back.
"Well well just see how things go"
'Had Jonathan really not gotten any field time recently?'
Clark thought back on the last few weeks.
'Jonathan had practised some drills last Wednesday'
'Then was on the bench for the rest of practice'
'There had been that time when Jonathan had caught me going through his stuff ... No he had come back early because he wasn't on the field'
Clark frowned out of view of Jordan who was still curiously looking over at clarks hands staring at the quickly melting frost that covered them.
'With Jordan powers and with him practically all over the pitch recently I guess I haven't had time to watch Jonathan at all'
FINLEY
EDGE
NIGHT : TWELVE O'CLOCK
~~~

After parking the offencive blue truck in a discreet location that had no affiliation with himself or Jonathan.

Finle, whos body was now fully healed, dissipated his body turning into black smoke licking at the molecules in the air.

Until he got back to his rundown apartment.

Thankfully it wasn't too cold that night as Finley didn't want to have to light a ridiculous number of candles to keep him somewhat warm during the night.

Laying back on his bed on top of the sheets, Finley sighed the day away in a pitiful gust of air.

'We kissed ... Oh and the whole confessing to kill someone thing'

But Finley knew he couldn't do anything about how Jonathan may proceed with the knowledge that he granted him.

So he lifted his hands and smothered his face, rouling and hiding face down in his sheets.

'What does that mean? ... Well he kissed me but I was crying my eyes out so it could have been out of pity ... But I kissed back. So I like him? ... He likes me? ... I like to think so anyways"

Finley knew however that no matter what, his self appointed mission of staying out of edge radar was far more important than any feeling he harboured for the Kent boy.

But it was a nice thought to have.

Though.

To be with Jonathan.

While Edge still thought of him dead.

Finley thought in his position meny others would want Edge dead or castrated, preferably both.

But Finley was tired.

So tired of everything.

Edge's antics.

Of having to give in to his own desire to quench his own hunger.

It had made him sick at first.

So ill at thought of blood or being around others.

The fear that he would cause their death rattled in his mind with every time that he saw the passing glance of another.

Seeking out the depraved and perverse to settle the ever thrust that scratches at his bones.

But over the month after his death.

Finley had grown so tired.

That he no longer cared much for anything but his own life.

Secluding himself from the hope of ever being reunited with humanity.

Then he met Jonathan that warm wooded night.

The meeting had allowed that once forgotten hope to spark up again within him.

Along with Edge's claims for world domination that Finley knew would never happen.

As clearly his 'little experiment' had failed.

Finely didn't have superpowers.

And was inhabited by a kryptonian.

So it was going to be fine.

Just fine.

'I hope.'

Finley thought as he let his hands curl around his stomach.

Vote?

If you liked.

Also were done with this day, can you believe the last like five chapters' have just depicted one days events?

Don't worry the rest of the storey I plan to be more fast paced.

But this days events in the story are really important for all the characters so I wanted to spend a lot of time on it.

Updates will probably go back to being more spread apart as i'm back to school, doing more exams.

Soss.
