"Oh, I can tell your super happy underneath your grouchy exterior! N/n, this is gonna be the best! I can't wait!"
"Okay."
"Y/n! Hurry up and drive your sister to school. You'll both be late!" Your mother's voice rang out through the hallway, kicking the two of you into overdrive.

You had almost all of your classes with Andy, just as in the past years.
You suspected that her father had something to do with it.
You looked across the room to see Andy entering with Camryn trailing behind her. "Andy, wait! You know, it'll only be an hour or two. We can all hang out at the mall...or maybe the--"
The brunette cut himself off when you came to stand in front of him, fastening your blank gaze to his face.
"Fuck off."
You considered that enough and moved to take your leave, but it seemed, to Andy, that it wasn't.
Your friend elbowed you in the side, giving you a strained smile.
You subtly rolled your eyes. "Andy has plans with me. She doesn't even like the fucking mall."
You glanced to the side to catch Andy's expression, heaving a sigh of relief when your eyes met her brightly approving ones.
Camryn took a moment to stare at you in shock, before his eyes narrowed into a glare. He moved to stand between you and Andy protectively. "I know what you're doing to her!" To Andy, he said. "She's not healthy for you!"
You found that statement ironic.
"You're manipulating her and iso...isolating her!"
Andy stared at Camryn incredulously. She herself knew that his words were utter bullshit, but she couldn't help but want to use him to her advantage. She then looked to you, giving you a secret smile that you knew meant shit was about to go down.
"And Andy, you don't even realize it, but every word Y/n says has an ulterior motive! She's probably even a... uh, y'know those people who lie about everything? She's probably one of those!" Camryn was certainly on a roll now...
Andy suddenly broke out from behind Camryn and embraced you. Her head landed at your neck, as she was quite a bit shorter than you. "She is not!" Andy's eyes watered. "She just has a hard time expressing her emotions, but we're really good friends, and she would never do something as horrible as manipulating me!"
Your classmates who had been witnessing the spectacle, all began to murmur amongst themselves, staring at you judgmentally.
Camryn looked at Andy's cowering form with pity. "Andy...she's no good for you." He softened his voice in a way that you couldn't help but consider patronizing.
Andy shook her head and hugged you tighter, subtly pulling your head down so she could whisper to you, "Don't you want to defend yourself, Darling?"
You sighed again. It was obvious what she wanted you to do, and when it came to Andy, it wasn't like you had much of a choice in the matter.
Your arms came to wrap around Andy, and you gave Camryn your best attempt at a glare. "We never asked for your input on our friendship. Leave us alone."
Just as Camryn went to answer you, the teacher came into the classroom, ending the showdown.
The look he gave you, however, promised that it wasn't over yet.
