Eddy wasn't sure who was drunker, Todd or Ian, but they were both pretty far gone, he knew that much. And for a moment he thought they were simply going to fall asleep like that, like two tree branches from the rain forest earlier, leaning in on each other. But then, slowly, but very surely, Todd lifted his face to Ian and looked right into his eyes.
Eddy must have taken some breaths, or he would be passing out by now, but he wasn't moving, not an inch, he couldn't pull away, he couldn't intervene, or say anything.
I mean, what the fuck was he supposed to say?
Then Todd leaned over, and as his audience watched on in shock, he kissed Ian.
"Oh!" Brett breathed next to him.
I mean, Eddy had seen this happen a thousand times. Boy meets girl, girl likes boy, they both drink, they wind up snogging on the dance floor. In fact, he had seen Todd do this, too, to at least a dozen cute boys he had met while they were out. He had seen him do this, and he had seen him sneak out to some room, somewhere, or go with the guy. But this, this was different. This had the power to destroy him, to destroy their friendship, to break everything up that Todd loved. What the hell was he supposed to do now?
But before he could decide to do anything either way, Ian groaned softly and pounced. Suddenly there were lips, and tongues, and they were all over each other, kissing passionately, sucking, panting.
"Oh fuck!" Todd mumbled as he doubled down and deepened the kiss, their tongues together, the kissing slowing now, becoming hotter, sexier. The kind of kissing that lead to something else.
"Okay." Eddy said as he sat up with a shock.
There was nothing he could do, he could see Todd's hand going down already, he could see him stroking Ian's belly, Ian reacting. Ian was hard in his sweats, he couldn't help but notice, and Eddy was guessing that Todd was about to find that out, too.
They needed to leave.
Brett got up at the same time and they both scrambled from the room. The kissing boys behind them didn't even notice, he was sure.
"Oh my fucking God." he managed as Brett closed the door behind them.
"What the fuck just happened?"
"I have no idea."
Eddy sat down at the foot of the bed and held his head in his hands. He knew full well what, approximately, would be going on in the other room by now. He also knew Todd must be very good at that particular thing, based on how much success he had with the lads.
But what would Todd find, after he woke up in the morning? And what would Ian?
Brett sat down next to him and put his hand on his shoulder.
"There's nothing you could do, Eddy, you know that. They're both grown adults."
"Yes, but you know what this could mean. I don't want to know what will happen to Todd if Ian decides he never wants to see him again."
Brett was quiet for a moment, before squeezing his shoulder lovingly.
"Then you'll be there for him. We both will. But we're not responsible for what they do when they drink too much."
Eddy nodded.
"Yeah."
"Alright, come on. Shall we get to bed? We need some sleep, we're rehearsing in the morning."
Eddy smiled and tried to put all thoughts of their friends out of his mind. Brett was right, of course. And he was here now, with his love.
"Absolutely."
