Edas pov
Poor kid. I though, shutting the door to the guest room.
I sat down on the couch with a sigh. Titian i was tired but i couldnt sleep, i wouldent sleep. I had to make sure that hunter wasnt going to run off again. or do anything stupid.
Suddly there was a knock on the door. I had taken down the barricade scince the spell had been compleated so hooty was asleep.
I looked out the peephole. It was darious raine and eber.
"What do you want?"
"Weve been looking for hunter since we saw him run off. and then eber spotted you bringing him inside."
"If you want to take him to the emperor you can fuck right off cus thats not happining."
"No we just want to know if hes ok."
"Sure darius." I rolled my eyes.
"No really eda."
"I dont trust people who work with belos." I said indignantly.
". . . Were not working with him eda." Darius said. "Who do you think gave you that potion?"
I opened the door. "Come in."
Once they were all inside i shut the door and locked it.
"Hunter is ok. I think. I found him laying in the woods freezing and. . . he didnt seem to want to get rescued."
"Thank titan you found him." Raine spoke. "Thank you eda."
"Raine..."
The room lapsed into scilence.
"Raine do you really not remeber me?" I asked. Raine looked down guiltily.
"Thats not what were here for."
"Its a yes or no question raine."
"What went on in the emperors mind? Do you know?" Raine asked.
"And your really not working with belos?"
"Were not."
"Then you lied to me..."
Darius and eber looked uncomfortable.
"Eda, can we talk about this later?" I nodded.
"Alright, so heres what i know. . . "
I told them everything luz had told me. And after we had checked on hunter raine declared that it was time for them to leave.
"Im not going. Hunter is like family to me and im not leaving until im sure hes going to be alright" Darious said. "Eber can you make something up?"
Eber nodded.
"Darius i trust eda will take care of him for now. I think your absence will make the emperor suspicious." Raine warned.
"Its a risk im willing to take."
"So what your just gonna sleep on the couch?" I asked.
"Sounds good to me." Darius flopped down.
"Goodbye raine, eber." I nodded as they walked out.
"Goodbye." Raine replied almost wistfully.
As soon as they were gone i sat down on the chair across from the couch and pulled out my reserch.
"Eda you look exausted. You should get some rest."
"No."
Darius rolled his eyes and rolled over. "Suit yourself."
"Darius... did raine really forget?"
"Why did i see that question coming?" He mumbled. "And i think they should tell you that themself."
"I see..."
"They did mention you once or twice though..." Darius said after a pause
"Really?"
"They just want to protect you Edalyn. So when you do have that conversation dont be too hard on them for whats happend."
"I- I think i will go to bed." I said standing up. Tears welling in my eyes.
"Good."
