Cody:Kezia?
She turns around quickly,making the boy flinch.
Kezia growls and gets on all fours.
She tightens her fists and then charges at Cody,which causes his knees to shake.
Cody:No,no,no! Kezia,stop!
She keeps going and is ready to smash him until he's saved by Tiana in her human form.
The disguised Duraludon holds her Trainer in her arms as she looks as her friend attempts to attack the others as well,while she begins to tear the surrounding area apart.
Cody:I don't know why this is happening!
He looked at her with a nervous look.
Cody:What do we do?
Tiana rubs his head then looks at Kezia.
She pumps her fist forward towards Cody and runs toward her friend.
Kezia punches Flare away from her then goes for Cody once more,but is stopped by a kick to the stomach from Tiana.
She lands like a heroine then waves her hand across the air dramatically as the wind makes her tailcoat fly like a flag.
In the overgrowth,the mystery group feel proud of their success.
???:The target has been hit. Excellent work. That should teach the boy about who he's dealing with.
Uila heard this with her cat ears,so she charges up electricity in her paws then launches it through the ground,this was her signature move,Plasma Fists.
The energy burned away the cover revealing the people responsible.
The people were dressed in black outfits with a stylized letter 'P' on their vests. They all had ginger hair and blue eyes. Over their faces were black face coverings.
Cody saw them and recognized them.
Cody:It's Neo Team Plasma!
Out of every evil team he heard of,Cody always saw them as the most scary when they went for a second takeover in Unova.
Cody:What're you doing here? What did you do to Kezia?
A female grunt,who Cody guessed was the leader,stepped forward.
Female Plasma Grunt:So,you must be the boy trying to foil our plans. To answer your other question,your Pokemon now belongs to Team Plasma!
Cody:What are you talking about?
Female Plasma Grunt:You see,this device we have allows Pokemon to be under our control. We've been using it to gather an army of Pokemon to our cause.
Cody:And what would that be exactly?
Male Plasma Grunt:Ha! Like we'll tell you,kid! But it's gonna be something big,that's for sure.
Female Plasma Grunt:Now,destroy him! Show him that we will not take his actions against us lightly!
Kezia then charged at him again,which led him to roll out of the way.
Cody:Kezia!
She turns to him with bared teeth.
Cody:Calm down,please. You're not like this!
Female Plasma Grunt:Save your breath. It can't hear you in its current state.
Kezia jumps at him again,making him jump to the left.
Cody:I don't care,I'm gonna try anyway!
Kezia then attacks him using Grassy Glide.
However,the move is blocked by human Tapu Bulu,who Cody named Tierra.
Cody:I got an idea. Ferna,Ima,Flare,Bracer and Senshi!
They all looked at him.
Cody:I need you to hold her down,but don't hurt her.
They all nod as Cody approaches her.
However,he's stopped by a blast of dark energy and looks behind to see the grunts come into his campsite with their Pokemon out.
Female Plasma Grunt:You're not doing anything,boy.
Cody:Come on,I don't have time for this!
Male Plasma Grunt 2:For the glory of Team Plasma,we will crush you!
Cody called Tiana over to his side and she turned into her original state.
He also brought out Phoenix and Suicune to help.
The grunts brought forward Golbat,Garbodor,Sneasel and Seviper.
Cody:Four against Three? This just got interesting.
Cody told them all to set up.
Tiana uses Light Screen,Suicune uses Calm Mind and Phoenix uses Swords Dance.
Golbat hits Tiana and Suicune with an Air Cutter while Phoenix dodges it.
He swooped in and hit Golbat with Acrobatics,knocking it out.
Suicune then went after hitting all of the opposing Pokemon with an Ice Beam sweep.
Sneasel then hit Tiana with Sucker Punch which made her hit it with Mirror Shot.
It launched the dark type all the way into a rock close by.
Cody:That's gonna sting.
Garbodor then hits Phoenix with Sludge Bomb,causing him to get poisoned.
Seviper then came in with Crunch and hit Suicune.
Both Pokemon countered with Flare Blitz and Hydro Pump respectively which were able to knock out both of the Pokemon.
Golbat went after Phoenix from behind since he was low on health.
It flew towards him while charging up a Wing Attack,but before it could hit him...
Roger got in the way and took it right in the face.
The big Pokemon stood motionless with an annoyed expression,then uppercutted the bat with Thunder Punch.
Cody:Good job,Roger!
He nods with a smile.
The boy turned to the grunts with a devious smile.
Cody:So...How did that butt-kicking feel?
Male Plasma Grunt 3:Arghhh! I'm so super annoyed!
Male Plasma Grunt 2:How...How did he beat us?
Female Plasma Grunt:Grrr. You're strong for a child.
Cody nodded then gained an agitated expression.
Cody:Now...
He snaps his fingers and Tiana fires a Thunderbolt at their feet,making the grunts back up.
Cody:I recommend that you all take that machine there and leave before me and my Pokemon smash it to pieces. And tell your boss to leave. Me. Alone.
They gain nervous expressions and the three male grunts collect the machine and run with the leader following,but not before the leader says one more thing.
Female Plasma Grunt:You may have won this time. But trust me,you'll regret going against Team Rainbow Rocket and Team Plasma.
She leaves with the other grunts while Cody calms himself from the moment that just happened and went to Kezia.
His Pokemon managed to keep her still while she was berserk.
Cody walked to her slowly,making her try to grab him.
Cody:Hi,Kezia. It's me,Cody. You remember me,right?
Kezia roared at him and breathed hard while looking at him.
Cody:Come back to me,you're not like this. If you remember me,try to think of something we did together.
Kezia's breathing seems to calm down a bit as she remembers something.
*Flashback*
In Wyndon,Cody had just finished a battle against Raihan and went to relax after his last match of the day.
He went all the way to the ferris wheel by the Battle Tower and got on.
Cody was enjoying the ride until Kezia came out of her ball in all her human form glory.
She waves with him waving back.
Cody:Hi Kezia. Great job today!
Kezia smiles at him.
Cody:It's nice to see you all work hard for me. I hope I'm doing the same for you all.
She nods and pats his back.
He then dug into his bag.
Cody:I got a surprise for you.
Kezia looks at him curiously as he pulls out something.
He turns around and shows it to her.
Cody:Ta-da!
It was a wooden bracelet.
Cody:I found it at a boutique,so I got it for you.
Kezia takes it and puts it on her wrist,seeing it fits perfectly.
Overcome with happiness,Kezia grabs her Trainer and hugs him tightly.
Cody*Strained*:Kezia,too tight!
She lets go and nervously rubs his head.
Cody:It's okay.
The boy grabs her hand and looks at it.
Cody:It fits like a glove. You look even more amazing with it.
He then takes her hand and intertwines it with his.
Cody:I got that bracelet to show how much I care about you.
Kezia blushes and twirls her loose piece of hair.
Cody:If you ever feel down...just look at the bracelet and you'll feel better,I promise.
Cody then hugged Kezia who gently hugged him back.
*Flashback End*
Kezia gradually calms down then looks at the bracelet like her Trainer said before in that moment.
She stares at it for a few seconds then looks back at Cody's worried face.
Cody:Are you there?
Kezia then breaks free and jumps on top of Cody.
The boy closes his eyes waiting for pain when suddenly he feels a warm sensation of two arms around him.
He looks to see Kezia sitting on the ground with him in her lap tightly hugging him.
Cody:Kezia.
Kezia looked at him with her now normal red eyes,they were filled with tears and she had a sorrowful expression.
Cody hugs her real quick and then looks at her.
Cody:Don't worry,it's okay. Team Plasma got you while you weren't looking,you didn't hurt me.
The boy runs his fingers through her green locks.
The grass woman feels his hand then rubs his cheek with her free hand.
Cody:It's alright,Kezia. Come on,everyone. I think it's time we head back.
Cody held one of Kezia's hands while Tiana held the other and the group began to walk back to town.
The next day,Cody reported all of the legendary Pokemon he found.
Peony:Looks like that's about all the reportin' you've got to report just now! Huh? Well,how 'bout that,Chief! Looks like that was the last bit of the grand Peony Adven-tour that I had for you!
Cody:I'm surprised I was able to get them all.
Peony:Whoooo! Now this is an occasion! What's the word? Ultra-mega-epic! Your passion for all this caught me off guard,Chief... This whole Adven-tour thing was built out of a load of rubbish I scraped together. Even I had my doubts about the whole thing.But you? You went at it with a ton of energy!
Peony:You don't s'pose those Pokemon you caught were really the ones in the legends,do you?
Cody:Yeah,they are. I can tell you about them.
Peony:Nah,actually,never mind. You don't have to tell me anything! A look at your face tells me everything I need to know,Chief. I can tell that you must've done some ultra-mega-epic explorin'! And whatever you discovered on your way...that's a special treasure just for you!
Cody:I'm glad that you let us be a part of this,thanks.
Peony:Nah,thank you. I want you to have this. Consider it my way of sayin' "thank you"!
The big man gave him his rare League Card.
Cody:Cool.
Peony:Hmm...But I can't shake the feelin' something I'm forgettin' somethin'...
???:Ugh. Daaad! People can hear you all the way outside,you know!
They saw it was Peonia who came in.
Peony:My darlin' Nia!
Cody:Hi,Nia.
Peonia:Huh! This place isn't bad! So this is where you're staying?
She asks while looking around.
Peonia:Oh hey,Cody! Fancy meetin' you outside the Max Lair for once!
Cody:Uh huh. It's been a while.
Peonia:Hehe! You're really on my wavelength.So you actually kept my old man company! Cheers,I owe you one! I've had my fill of the Dynamax Adventures now...So I thought I may as well try one of those what-d' you-call-'em tours my old man was going on about.
Peony:Oh...
Cody awkwardly looked at the floor.
Peonia:Huh? What? Why'd everyone suddenly go quiet?
Peony:H-hold on! Gimme just a mo! I'll come up with some new legends straightaway! You'll have your adventure,Nia! A nice father-daughter expedition! Finally!
Peonia:Whoa,whoa,whoa! Wait one second! You'll "come up with" legends? Also,that's way too close! I need some personal space here!
Peony:R-right! First things first! I've got something for you,Nia...
He pulls out a golden expedition uniform that glows brightly.
Cody:Ah! It's too bright and beautiful!
Peony:Here! I made this brilliantly shiny explorer's outfit for you! You can get changed while I come up with somethin'.
Peonia:What in the world?! Are you trying to turn me into a disco ball or something?
This caused Cody to laugh.
She takes it but says...
Peonia:Why have I got to wear this golden one when yours is normal?
Peony:Gahahaha! Isn't it obvious? You're my darlin' daughter!
He does his signature pose.
Peony:I want you to shine so bright that everyone notices you!
Peonia:Ugh! It's things like this! I've changed my mind! Here-you can have this!
Peony:Hey! But why?!
Peonia gives it to Cody.
Cody:You're too kind.
Peonia:I'm heading back to my own adventure! Time to catch some more Dynamax Pokemon!
She yells while leaving.
Cody*Funky Kong Voice*:Bumma.
Peony:No! Come back,Nia! No need to be so rebellious! I know you really love me! Don't you?! Agh! Sorry for the sudden commotion,Chief! It was a blast explorin' with you!
Cody:Same here,pal. It was really cool.
Peony:You all are free to use our base camp,of course! Anyway,time for me to go spend some quality time with my darlin' daughter.
Peony ran out with Cody waving him off.
Peony:Hold on,Nia! Wait for me!
Cody smiles seeing how funny they were.
He then thought about someone and brought out Tapu Koko and Tapu Lele.
They were stretching,happy to be out of their balls.
Cody:Hello,you two. It's been a while,hasn't it?
They both nod.
Cody:I was thinking about you both. I wanted to give you both new names,but first I wanna see what you look like,please.
They nod then begin to glow brightly.
Afterwards,Cody sees their new forms.
Tapu Koko was a woman with brown skin and light blue eyes,much like Tierra and Anela.
She had short orange hair with a small ponytail behind it and was around the same height as Cody. She wore a black bodysuit with an orange skirt around her waist,in her hair was a yellow hair piece shaped like her bird head tiki.
Her upper eyelids had white eyeliner while her lower ones had yellow.
On her feet were some yellow sandals.
Cody:That never gets old. Also,you're amazing,so I'm gonna name you Lyn.
Lyn happily claps her hands.
Cody looks for Tapu Lele,but sees they've disappeared.
Cody:Huh? Lele,where'd you go?
He felt a tap on his shoulder,but when he looked back he didn't see anyone.
Cody yelped when he felt he was being picked up from behind by mystic energy.
The boy looked behind and saw Tapu Lele was the one making him float.
She was a brown skinned woman who was shorter than the other Tapus.
She had long pink curly hair that was covered by a magicians hat which was also pink. She had on a pink midriff and a pink skirt wrap based on her tiki with it being a butterfly.
On her feet were pink sandals.
Cody:There you are! You look very pretty. I'm gonna name you Aziza.
Aziza smiles and brings him to the floor as she stops making him float.
She then helps him up and tosses her hair into his face.
Cody:Playful one,you are. Now that that's done,why don't we check on my parents? They've been in the Max Lair since eight thirty this morning.
Lyn and Aziza nod and follow him to the cave.
Inside,he sees his dad in a corner tapping his foot on the ground.
Cody:Hey daddy,are you okay?
John looks up to see his son and he runs up to him.
John:My little king! Son,I need your help.
Cody:W-what happened?
John:It's your mother,she was going into the Max Lair to raid,but she's been gone for so long. I'm starting to get worried.
Cody seems confused.
Cody:But you have to be in a group for these kinds of raids.
John:That's the thing....
He steps aside to show a group of people.
John:That's the group she was with,and they all came back except her.
Cody holds his hand over his heart,getting worried about his mother's wellbeing.
Aziza and Lyn look at him worriedly.
Cody:Did they say anything?
John shook his head.
John:Unfortunately,not. But we ain't just gonna stand here and do nothing.
Cody:Right. Maybe she's still in there.
John nods and they go inside the Max Lair after informing the scientist of their problem.
They were in the caves looking for Martha and fighting and Dynamax Pokemon along the way.
Cody:Mama! Where are you? I hope you're alright!
John:Honey? If you're down here,say something!
They listen out for her some more but still don't hear her.
Cody:Let's keep looking.
John:Okay. I hope she's okay.
They continue one their way until they reach the end to fight another Legendary.
This one was a gray dragon with red eyes and black scleras and had huge black wings.
It was Giratina,another legend from Sinnoh.
Cody sent out Midnight Lycanroc while John sent out Whiscash.
Lycanroc inflicted a Taunt making it unable to use Scary Face and John hit it with Bounce.
Giratina hit Lycanroc with Dragon Claw.
Cody uses Dynamax then uses Max Darkness.
Giratina uses Max Wyrmwind hitting Whiscash with Dragon energy.
The fight goes on for a while,but eventually Cody catches it in a Dusk Ball.
Afterwards,they kept looking for Martha when they suddenly heard a scream.
Cody:Huh? Mama?! Are you there?!
He then runs after the screams while his dad follows him.
They then see Martha running away from someone behind the rocks.
Cody:Mama!
She looks at them in relief and runs to them.
Martha:Cody! John! Help me,please!
Cody:Don't worry,we're coming!
Martha keeps running towards her son and husband,the boys doing the same,however she gets hit from behind and is wrapped up in a web.
Martha:Cody! John!
John:Honey! Don't worry,I'll get you out!
The builder man runs to his wife but is knocked back by Take Down,making him land on his back.
Cody:Daddy!
He runs up to him with a worried look as he sits his father upward.
John:I'll be fine,son. Hurry,save your mother.
Cody:But what about you? I-I can't-
John:I'll be okay. I'm not going anywhere,but your mom needs you,now. You can do this,you're my little king,who's strong just like his father.
Cody nods and hugs him then pulls out a Luxury Ball.
Cody:Here,it's a gift for you. I'll save mama.
John smiles at him and watches his son run to his mother.
Martha looks to see Cody dash towards her as quickly as he could.
Cody:Mama!
Martha:Cody,sweetie! Hurry!
She wriggles closer to him,but a Pokemon forces him and her back with Shadow Ball.
Said Pokemon looked like a common house cat that was rotund and basically was the Pokemon equivalent to Garfield.
Cody:Purugly? Those aren't in Galar,though.
???:That's right,but we're not from around here.
He looks to see a woman with a Rainbow Rocket grunt and three Team Galactic grunts,who has wrapped up Martha with a spider-like Pokemon named Ariados.
The woman had spiky red hair and wore a space suit with a 'G' on it,signifying she was with Team Galactic. However,her suit was more like a dress since it had a skirt. She had fair skin and red eyes to match her hair.
Cody looks at her with a cautious glance.
???:Looks like catching your precious mother was too easy.
She says while walking up to her.
Martha struggles trying to escape.
???:Don't even try it,that web is too strong to escape from. Besides,we need you for something.
Martha:Well,I won't give up. And who even are you?
Cody:Yeah! In what world do you just kidnap an innocent person's mother?
???:Who am I? Well,since you two asked I throw you a bone. My name is Mars,one of Team Galactic's four commander's.
Cody:It's noticeable since you're wearing that uniform. Now,what are you trying to do with my mom?
Mars:The boss has ordered me to take this woman to try out something,along with that some of our associates want you out of the way.
Cody(Thoughts):So all these evil teams are here. But where did they come from,and what do they want?
Mars:I hate to do it. But orders are orders. Purugly,Shadow Ball!
Cody's eyes widen as he watches the ghost energy ball fly towards him.
He jumps out of the way.
Cody:This woman's crazy!
Martha looks conflicted but knows what must be done.
Martha:Cody!
Responding to his name,the boy looks to his mother.
Martha:Take your father and run!
Cody gets nervous as he sits up.
Cody:No! I gotta get you out of there!
Martha:No. I'm sorry,but you have to go! It's not safe!
Cody:I don't wanna leave you,though!
Martha gains tears in her eyes as she says...
Martha:I know. Cody,they're coming after you so you must leave without me! It's gonna be hard,but I'll be content knowing you're safe from harm! You can save me,but now's not the time...If you want that chance,you have to go! Just know,I'll always love you and your dad,okay?
Cody has tears in his eyes as he gets up and then begins to run.
He turns to his mom who smiles at him.
Cody:I love you,mama. I'll save you,I promise.
He then ran to get his dad.
Mars:Don't let him escape! Take the woman back to base.
She says to the Rainbow grunt who places her on Ariados and runs away while the Galactic grunts give chase.
Cody runs up to his father and quickly pulls him towards the exit.
However,he's confused as to why they're leaving with Martha.
John:Son,wait! We gotta get your mother!
Cody:There's no time! We have to get out of here and hide. Those people I told you about are coming after me!
John:But what about-
Cody:Dad...She told us to leave her.
John is shocked as they come close to the exit.
They were home free until a group of Golbat's blocked their path.
Cody:They've caught us!
John looks behind to see the Galactic grunt have caught up.
Cody and his dad press their backs to each other.
John:Time to try out that Pokemon you gave me.
He throws the ball out and sees his son got him a Luxray.
Cody sends out Lycanroc and gets ready.
Male Galactic grunt:Golbat,hit them with an Air Cutter and Shadow Ball!
They all fired at them but Lycanroc made a large wall of rocks via Stone Edge.
Cody then told him to use Throat Chop as one was flying toward him.
The wolf jumps up and chops its head,defeating it.
John was taking care of some more Golbat's with Luxray using moves like Discharge,Crunch and Iron Tail.
He defeated another one making him pump his fist in victory.
John:Nice work,Luxray! I gotta thank Cody later for getting me a Pokemon,it sure has been a while.
They were fighting off the bats left and right,eventually leading them to victory.
Cody:Whew...We did it.
John:Uh huh. No wonder you're the champion.
The grunts returned their Pokemon while John turned to them,arms crossed.
John:Now,my wife. Where is she?
Male Galactic grunt:You're too late. We've already sent her to our base,and we're planning on doing an experiment with her.
This made Cody whimper and John furious.
John:YOU WHAT?!
Male Galactic grunt 2:That's right. We hope to take over this region,and this experiment may help us do just that. We'll be so powerful,no one will be able to stop us!
John growls and tightens his fists.
John:I won't let you hurt this beautiful place! This is my son's home! We won't let you!
He runs forward but one grunt pulls out a Smoke Ball and throws it in front of him.
John sputters and fans the smoke,afterwards he sees the grunts had disappeared.
John wildly looks for them but he can't find them anywhere then kneels down in devastation.
John:...No...No...Martha.
He begins to cry knowing his wife,his joy,his everything has been taken from him.
Cody:Oh,dad...I'm sorry.
He runs up to his dad,who hugs his son to comfort himself.
John:I'm so sorry,Cody. If only we could've done more.
Cody:I know...It hurts,too. She wanted us to leave,so we could be safe. We'll get her back and we'll stop Team Rainbow Rocket,whatever it takes.
The boy said while shedding tears as well.
John stands up with his son and then they wipe their eyes.
Cody:Come on,let's head back. We'll come up with a plan.
John:Right,we'll find their hideout and take 'em down then save your mother.
They nod at each other with small grins and exit the lair.
Meanwhile with Martha,she was being placed in a black helicopter with the Rainbow Rocket logo.
Once inside,Ariados plopped her down on the floor while Mars and the grunts went in as well.
The red haired woman pulled out an earpiece and held it to her mouth to speak into it.
Mars:This is Mars,come in.
On the other end was a male voice that oozes confidence.
???:Ah,Mars. I assume that you completed your mission?
Mars:Sort of. I was able to catch our target but the boy got away.
???:Oh,such a shame. It looks like you partly succeeded and failed all at once.
Mars got angry at that remark.
Mars:Quiet! I know I was supposed to defeat him,but he ran with encouragement from his mother.
???:In any case,we finally begin preparations on the project. But since the boy escaped,he will no doubt try to reclaim our test subject.
Martha's eyes widened at the "Test Subject" and began feeling panic in her mind.
Mars:He can try. We're heading back to base now.
???:Good. I can't wait to get started.
The other end cut off as the helicopter began to head into the air.
Martha(Thoughts):Cody,John. Be careful,they're up to something. I hope you two are ready.
Back with the boys,they were in the Max Lair,talking about their plan.
They would look for where they might have gone using Phoenix to fly around the tundra,looking for any suspicious characters.
Cody called Leon to inform him of the situation,which made the former champion determined to help him,but said it would take a while for him to come.
In the meantime,Cody had gone around the vast tundra looking for clues on the ground with his dad.
They searched for hours but couldn't find anything.
They almost gave up hope looking for the organization...
...until two days later...they found something.
