Cody opened his eyes to see he was now in front of the mystery ladies again.
They looked at him with worry and he tried to figure out why.
Cody then remembered what happened at the Stadium,he was going to fight Leon when they were interrupted by Rose saying he would start the Darkest Day.
Those dreams he had in the past really were warnings telling of another Darkest Day to come...
But he never would have thought that the Chairman would have been the one to start something like this in the first place.
Cody looked at them again and they showed him another piece of paper with a message.

But Cody felt unsure about him being able to do it so he cried.
The two ladies then hugged him and kissed his head,Cody then got sleepy and closed his eyes again.
This time he woke up for real and saw he was in his bed at his house.
He sat up and shook his head.
Cody:Oh man. That blast took me out hard.
He saw he was still in his uniform,so he quickly changed and exited his room.
When Cody entered the kitchen he saw his mom,dad,sister,friends and Pokemon standing around the table.
Cody:Everybody?
They all turned to him.
Cody's family:Cody!
His mom and dad hugged him tightly.
Martha:Oh,I'm so glad you're okay!
John:Are you alright,son?
Cody nods and hugs them back.
Cody:What's happening?
Martha:The chairman's causing havoc all over the region!
John:Yeah,he's causing a storm of some kind and it's making Pokemon Dynamax all over the place!
Victor:He's causing another Darkest Day.
Sonia then walks up.
Sonia:They caught me up on what's happening. I was just researching the Slumbering Weald when they told me you were passed out.
Cody:Yeah...But...
He notices someone missing.
Cody:Where's Leon?
Hop:He's at Hammerlocke Stadium,he's trying to stop the chairman.
Martha:Don't worry. The Champion will be able to handle everything,won't he?
Cody shakes his head,this was a whole lot bigger than anything he faced,he needed help.
Sonia:Well,the Darkest Day is what brought Galar close to ruin back in the ancient times.
Cody:And that's exactly why Leon may need help.
Martha:Wh-what do you mean,baby?
Cody breathes in then exhales.
Cody:...I need to find those Pokemon me and Hop met in the forest.
Sonia:I suppose if the legends are true,then the sword and shield Pokemon should be able to prevent the Darkest Day from coming to pass...
John:Yeah...they do sound pretty strong. If they stopped it once they could do it again.
But Martha wasn't so keen on this plan.
Martha:What!? No,no,Cody you can't go back to those woods!
Cody:But mama,I have to. It's the only way to stop the Darkest Day.
She grabs onto his shoulders.
Martha:Cody,I can't let you do this! It's too dangerous!
Cody:But Leon won't be able to do this by himself. I can help him along with Hop.
Martha:Cody! I can't let you do this!
Cody:Mama,please! I'm just trying to help!
Martha:What if you don't come back to me?!
The poor mother then breaks down in tears.
Martha:I-I can't afford to lose you,I love you too much.
Cody wells up and hugs his mom.
Cody:Mama... I took a risk when I decided to do this journey. And you protected me when I was bullied by everyone as a kid.
Martha looks into his eyes.
Cody:So it's time that I protect the people I love the most. I want to protect you.
The boy's parents are surprised when he says this.
John:Wow...
Martha:When did you get so brave?
Cody looks at his Pokemon.
Cody:When you have a responsibility of your own...it changes you,I guess.
John nods at this as he knew that better than anyone.
Cody then gives his necklace to Martha.
Cody:Here...In case you get worried while I'm gone.
She takes it and nods.
Martha:Okay...I trust you. I love you so much.
John:Me too...You can do this,son.
Cody nods then turns to his Pokemon.
Cody:Alright,I'm gonna need some of you guy's help.
He then chooses some Pokemon to take with him which were...
Ima,Ferna,Talis,Bracer,Shula and Tiana.
Cody:Zolta,Cassius,Petra,Zego,Klax,Enigma and Meltson.
They all turn to him.
Cody*Spongebob Voice*:Stand guard and protect my parents,I'll be back soon.
They all cry in confirmation.
Cody:Come on,Hop.
He nods and right after Cody grabs his bag and puts on his jacket,the two rush out the door and enter the Slumbering Weald,once again.
Martha and John waves them off.
Martha:Do you think they'll be,okay?
She asks her husband.
John:Our son handled his journey...I'm sure he can handle this. They'll have each other's backs.
The two are now in the forest and are ready to look for the two heroes.
Hop:Ready for this,Cody?
The boy nods with a smile on his face.
Hop:I wonder if we're gonna head into a wall of fog again...
Cody:Not that it's gonna bother us,since we've got strong teams now.
Hop:Righto.
The autistic boy looked around the forest.
Cody:It feels good to be here again now that I think about it.
Hop raises his eyebrow.
Hop:I thought you hated foggy areas?
Cody:Yeah,I do. Except for this place's fog...it just adds to its sereness,I just felt a bit uncomfortable at the time.
Hop:Well,let's add another page to our tale!
Cody thumbs up at this and they run off down the path.
After running through the woods for a while,they eventually saw the fog getting thicker.
Hop:What's with this fog?! It's even worse than the first time we came here...
It then got even thicker as it covered everything.
Cody:It's closing in.
The two heard footsteps and they turned to see the ladies again.
They then transformed into the wolves from before.
Blue wolf:Woooo.
Red wolf:Awooo.
Cody smiles gleefully.
Cody:I had a strong feeling about you two being the same thing...And I was right!
Hop:They really are here...The sword and shield Pokemon,I knew it!
The fog then covers them and pulls back,the two wolves mysteriously disappearing.
Cody:No,wait!
Hop:Hey! Where're you going! We need your help over here!
???:You two...What in the world are you doing?
They turn to see Sonia.
Hop:What?! Come off it,Sonia! You've probably seen that,right?!
Cody:The..the sword and shield Pokemon! They were right in front of us!
Hop:But then they disappeared into the forest...
Sonia:Hop,you sure you haven't lost the plot? There was no one here but the two of you..
Hop:Wha? Were they just illusions or something?
Cody:Maybe. But what are you doing here?
Sonia:Listen! I dug into some literature from other regions,and I finally found something!
Cody bounces up and down,excited to hear what it is.
Sonia:It mentions the name of the sword and shield Pokemon,they're called Zacian and Zamazenta.
Cody(Thoughts):So that's their names! After all this time.
Sonia:The writing said that those two Pokemon were born somewhere beyond the Slumbering Weald sometime long,long ago.
Hop:Did they really? Ta,Sonia. Thanks for digging into it.
Cody:Even if it was an illusion,we still managed to find that Pokemon again...
Hop:Maybe the sword and shield that those two carried are still here,too!
Hop then runs off down the fog filled path.
Cody follows him and is ready to see what's on the other side.
The boy tip-toes his way through the forest getting a fuzzy feeling in his stomach.
He looks ahead and sees an old stone shrine,the same one he saw in his dreams.
Cody:It is real.
He stands next to Hop.
Hop:Well,would you look at that,Cody! Now,that's something you don't see everyday...This place definitely feels like the stuff of legend.
They then run up to the shrine.
When they got closer,Cody saw the sword and shield from his first dream.
Hop:See that,Cody?
The boy nods and gets closer.
He then picks up the shield which gives him a feeling of protection and warmth.
Cody then hugs the object like a plushy.
Hop:That settles it! I'm taking the sword! Though...wow,would you look at the state of this thing?
Cody:They have been here for a long time.
Hop:It seems like it might fall to pieces if you so much as look at it funny.
His best friend snickers at that comment.
Hop:I don't know if these rusty old things will really be able to stop the Darkest Day,but...
Cody:It wouldn't hurt having them along,maybe we have to do something with them.
Hop:Let's hope they bring us good luck!
He then picks up the sword.
Hop:Maybe the Pokemon themselves really are still asleep somewhere. Seems,we're on our own if we want to help Lee.
Cody:No time to waste!
He then throws out Talis.
Cody:Talis,can you take us to Hammerlocke?
The ghost nods and places the two on his shoulders.
He then morphs his body into rocket boosters and flies off to the Stadium.
They finally arrive and see Raihan outside.
Raihan:Well,if it isn't Cody and Hop! It's a real shame,the way things have turned out.
Raihan:You make it all the way to the Championship Match,then something like this has to happen! The Chairman,thinking that the energy pouring from the Darkest Day would somehow be the key to saving Galar's future?
Cody:And that's why we're here!
Hop:I don't care if it's up against the Darkest Day or the chairman or whatever!
Hop:I'm going ahead! I'm off to help me brother!
He then runs inside.
Cody:And there he goes.
Raihan:That Hop never changes. Always in a rush about something,isn't he?
The dragon master turns to Cody.
Raihan:Key thing is,no one got hurt. We Gym Leaders have worked with the Pokemon to get everyone evacuated. I figure you're fixing to help the Champion.
Cody nods and salutes.
Raihan:Go on then!,our great challenger! Into Hammerlocke with you!
Cody:Thanks.You be careful,now.
Cody then goes inside and sees Oleana.
Cody:Hey!
The woman turns to him and runs up.
Oleana:G-Gym Challenger! You must help me! I-I mean,please,help me!
Cody:What?
Oleana:My Pokemon suddenly Dynamaxed for some reason and started running amok in the stadium...Raihan...I mean,Mr.Raihan was able to subdue the Dynamax Pokemon in the stadium,but...
Oleana:If other Pokemon also Dynamax and go on a rampage...the underground power plant would collapse! Mr.Rose is down there right now!
Oleana:I know this is selfish of me,but I must beg your assistance!
Cody:Say no more...I have to deal with Rose,anyway.
Oleana:Mr.Rose has awakened a Pokemon known as Eternatus...Apparently,the energy emitted from its body is what causes Dynamaxing.
Cody(Thoughts):So all this time,we were using this thing's power?
Oleana:At this rate,all the Pokemon in the Galar region will Dynamax and go berserk!
Cody balls his fists up and feels his knees shake.
Oleana:Please,save Mr.Rose! You can take the lift over there to reach him.
Cody turns to the lift and enters it as he gets ready to stop the chairman.
He zooms out of the elevator the moment it opens and runs to the opening.
Cody then sees what looks like a giant black orb,once again from the dream he had in Hulbury,but it was now broken suggesting that something may have come out of it.
Cody ran forward to Hop.
Hop:W-what is all this! We need to help Lee!
Cody:I'll catch up with you,Hop! Help Leon!
Hop:Are you sure you can handle the Chairman,by yourself?
He nods with a determined face.
Hop:Okay,I'll heal your team.
Hop heals Cody's team,then hugs his friend for good luck and goes to help his brother.
Cody rolls his shoulders and walks forward.
Cody:Rose!
He turns around.
Rose:And what do you plan on doing,Gym Challenger?
Cody crosses his arms and says...
Cody:I think the answer is pretty obvious,Mr.chairman.
Rose:I'm afraid I can't allow that. The Champion is the one who needs to control Eternatus.
Cody:Why though...Why do all this,when you knew you couldn't control this?
Rose:Must I explain myself? From your perspective,I suppose it must seem that I am doing something terrible. I don't expect you to understand.
Rose:But I must provide the Galar region with limitless energy to ensure endless prosperity. It is my purpose,my duty,my destiny!
Cody glares at him.
Cody:No...It's not.
Rose gains a serious expression.
Rose:That's why we've been giving the Wishing Stars to Eternatus! Surely you remember the red light that caused a ruckus around Hammerlocke. That was all part of our experiments to awaken Eternatus!
Rose:You must understand. I can't let you interfere with my plan to protect the future of Galar!
Cody:But chairman,your plan is hurting the region more than helping it! Pokemon are Dynamaxing all over the place!
Cody:And eventually,they're gonna destroy Galar!
Cody:I trusted you! But what you're doing is hurting everyone!
Rose looks upset at first but he still seems headstrong.
Rose:I know,Cody. But sometimes we must make difficult decisions for the better.
He then pulls out an Ultra Ball.
Rose:If you're not with me...you're my enemy.
Cody*Obi-Wan Voice*:Only a blind man deals an absolute...I will do what I must.
Cody tosses his ball,sending out Shula.
Rose throws his ball,sending out Escavalier.
Cody:Shula,Flamethrower!
The fire-dog blows a stream of flames at Escavalier and one-shots it.
Rose:You're pretty tough...Yes,entirely too tough. Don't you think that's unfair?
He then brings out Klinklang but Shula takes it down with Bulldoze.
Cody:Nice,Shula.
He trades her for Ferna while Rose releases his Ferrothorn.
Ferna boosts herself with Calm Mind and dodges the Ferrothorn's Power Whip.
The flame ape then defeats it with Flamethrower.
Rose then brings out Perrserker and Ferna uses another Calm Mind.
The metal cat uses Metal Claw but Ferna blocks the attack and takes it out with Flamethrower.
Rose:Oh,oh? Down to my last Pokemon...Hmm,this isn't looking good...
He then brings out his Copperajah and it brings back memories to Cody.
The brave boy returns Ferna and Dynamax's her.
Rose:I'll show you a move that'll hit so hard,you'll be speechless!
Cody:Bring it!
Rose Dynamax's his steel pachyderm and reveals its Gigantamax form.
Cody:Let's finish this! Max Flare!
Ferna uses her entire will power and fires a large amount of flames at the steel type,taking it down.
Cody wipes some sweat from his head.
Rose closes his eyes but gains a smirk then claps.
Rose:I'd forgotten how great Pokemon battles are! It's been so long since I battled...That sure was satisfying.
Rose:Most impressive,Cody! I wouldn't expect any less from a Challenger endorsed by the strongest Champion ever to grace our beloved Galar region!
Rose:I really do wish I could have seen the Championship Match between you two. And I'm terribly sorry to have ruined the whole Gym Challenge and everything!
Cody:Should've thought about that,huh?
Rose:It's too bad,but it can't be helped...In order to solve the energy issue as soon as possible,we awakened Eternatus. But we couldn't control it.
Rose:The Champion came to aid me,even at the cost of abandoning the match. Indeed,just like a knight in shining armor coming to rescue a princess from a dragon!
Cody(Thoughts):You sure do talk a lot.
Rose:I do tend to ramble on,I know. I love to make speeches. But I think I can stop talking now.
He says while walking back to the broken orb.
Rose:I think the Champion should have captured Eternatus by now. If you're curious,you can take the lift up.
Cody doesn't say anything else as he just walks to the lift.
Ima then comes out in her human form and checks on her trainer.
He looks at the water-woman.
Cody:Hey,Ima.
Ima nods then hugs him.
Cody:*Sigh* Thanks...I just don't know why he would see this as the best option...makes me feel a bit stressed.
Ima brushes his hair which calms him down.
Cody:Not only that,I'm scared about this monster on the roof.
Ima makes a 'me too' gesture.
Suddenly his Pokemon came out as well.
Cody:Hey,y'all...You ready for this?
They all nod even though Cody sees they all are scared.
Cody then signals for a group hug and all of his Pokemon comfort him and each other.
Tiana,in her human form as well,offers him a cookie.
He takes it and splits it with Bracer.
Cody:Let's help Leon.
They all nod and Cody returns everyone except Ima then heads for the lift.
The two then run out once it stops but when they reach the stairs they see something terrifying.
In front of them was a giant Pokemon that resembled a dragon's skeleton,it was purple and red,with a power core in the middle of its chest.
Cody:So that's Eternatus.
He then scans the large creature.
Eternatus The Gigantic Pokemon Ability:Pressure
"It was inside a meteorite that fell 20,000 years ago. There seems to be a connection between this Pokémon and the Dynamax phenomenon. The core on its chest absorbs energy emanating from the lands of the Galar region. This energy is what allows Eternatus to stay active."
Cody,Ima and Hop walk up to Leon.
Leon:You came to help me in spite of the danger? Thanks,Hop. And you,Cody. You two really have grown tremendously!
Leon:But no need for you kids and lady to worry. It seems like some power of Eternatus was keeping my team from Dynamaxing,but...we've had a champion time all the same!
Leon:Charizard and the rest of my champion team members have worn Eternatus down.
He then pulls out a Master Ball.
Leon:Now if I can simply catch it in a Master Ball,we should be able to get this madness under control! Then everything will go back to normal.
Leon:So watch this! It's going to be a real champion catch!
Eternatus roars as Leon throws the ball at it and keeps it contained.
It lands on the ground but everyone keeps their guards up.
The Master Ball rolls once but afterwards,begins to cackle with red energy.
Leon signals Charizard and Ima covers Cody with him as the ball explodes.
Leon falls to his knees from exhaustion,as the giant dragon lets out another roar.
Cody,Ima and Hop get ready as the dragon charges at them.
Ima fires a water shot at its chest,pushing it back.
Cody and his Inteleon steps forward and gets ready.
Eternatus roars as it sets its sights on them.
Cody:Ready,Ima?
She transforms and nods.
Cody:Use Ice Beam!
She fires cold ice at the Legendary and it shoots back with Dragon Pulse.
Ima dodges the attack and keeps going for Ice Beam around the dragon's body.
Eternatus attacks with its head but only pushes the water-type back and she shoots it in the face with another Ice Beam.
Cody returns Ima to him and sends out Bracer.
Bracer roars as he uses Iron Defense while Eternatus attacks with Cross Poison.
Bracer does his namesake and braces the attack,holding onto the energy dragon's head while doing so,he then upward chops its face with Brick Break getting it on its back.
Bracer then uses his signature move,Clanging Scales and makes a loud banging sound which turns into dragon energy.
Eternatus then flies into the air and its core begins to glow as it also uses its signature move,Dynamax Cannon.
Bracer grabs Cody and jumps out of the way of the attack then uses his previous move again.
Eternatus falls onto the ground hurt by the attack.
Cody and Bracer breath out in relief but are shocked when Eternatus rockets into the air.
It flies up into the stratosphere and explodes into a vast amount of energy causing objects to start flying around and a huge purple storm to generate.
Cody breathed fast as he looked around the rooftop as it reminded him of the dream with the giant Dynamax monster and those storms he saw.
He then looks at Eternatus and sees that it has grown to an even bigger size and changed into the form of a giant hand.
Cody scans this new version.
Eternatus-Eternamax Form
"As a result of Rose's meddling, Eternatus absorbed all the energy in the Galar region. It's now in a state of power overload.Infinite amounts of energy pour from this Pokémon's enlarged core, warping the surrounding space-time."
Cody*Whisper*:Oh my goodness.
He then returns Bracer and switches to Shula and Hop brings out his Dubwool.
Hop:Wow..It's huge! Let's take it on together,Cody!
He nods.
Cody:Shula,Agility!
Shula tried to use Agility but it wouldn't work for some reason.
Hop:What? I can't use any moves!
Cody:Shula,try Dragon Pulse!
She tried again but it wouldn't work.
Cody:Come on,what do we do?
He then looks through his bag and stumbles across the shield.
Cody pulls it out and shouts to Hop.
Cody:Hop! I got an idea! Get the sword!
Hop:I forgot! We found the sword and shield in the Slumbering Weald!
He pulls out the sword.
Hop:It might be old and rusted,but there's gotta be some use to it!
The autistic boy pleas into the air...
Cody:Zacian,Zamazenta! Please come to our time of need,we need your help!
He shouts while holding the ancient weapon.
In the Slumbering Weald Shrine,two stones in the lake began to glow,then exploding into mystical energy.
Out of the energy arose the two ladies,now known as Zacian and Zamazenta from their long slumber having heard the call of their special one in need of help.
The two then teleport to where they are needed.
Eternatus had gained enough energy and was about to attack until two lights appeared from behind it.
They slam into the ground revealing Zacian and Zamazenta in the human flesh.
Cody:You're here!
Zamazenta looks at him and smiles then she begins to glow.
The rusted sword and shield release from Hop and Cody's hands,floating upwards and then combining together.
It emits a light that connects to the two ancient heroes,making them change form.
Zamazenta lands on the ground,now covered in a golden crown,elbow braces,shield and breastplate that spread like wings.
Zacian adorned golden armor pieces as well as with a crown and small golden wing-like protrusions on her back,she also wielded a sword.
The blue hero stood in place as her hair and adventurer's hood wiped with the wind she and her sister created.
They transformed into their lupine forms and let out their respective cries,preparing for battle.
Eternatus,furious by seeing its mortal enemies again,roared at them.
Cody:I've got a good feeling,now! Let's do it,you all!
Zacian and Zamazenta gain a boost from their abilities,Intrepid Sword and Dauntless Shield.
Zacian then supports everyone by using Howl,boosting their attack stat.
Zamazenta then sets up a Light Screen and Cody has Shula use Agility,which she can now use.
Hop has his Dubwool use Double-Edge,doing nice damage.
Hop:Hey,looks like we can use our moves now! Thanks to Zacian and Zamazenta,that is!
Cody:Mhm,we got this in the bag! Shula,use Dragon Pulse!
The dog fires the dragon energy from her mouth and takes out some more of the monster's health.
Zacian then raises her sword and covers it in blue energy as she uses her move,Behemoth Blade.
She jumps toward the dragon and cuts it down,doing great damage.
Zamazenta then glows as the flaps on her shield align and she lets out a roar as she uses Behemoth Bash.
She jumps towards Eternatus and crashes into it,causing an explosion.
Eternatus then uses Max Flare on her but she takes the attack due to Light Screen.
Dubwool once again uses Double-Edge.
Zacian uses Behemoth Blade again and Shula follows up with Dragon Pulse.
After Zamazenta and Dubwool attack,Eternatus uses Max Wyrmwind on Dubwool.
Cody:It looks weak,guys! Let's rush it down!
They all nod and begin to trample on the giant dragon with powerful moves.
Energy bursts from Eternatus and Hop turns to Cody.
Hop:This is it! Hurry,Cody! Try to catch Eternatus NOW!
Cody pulls out an Ultra Ball,Dynamax'd it and then launches it forward.
Eternatus resists capture as much as it can but fails as it gets sucked in and the ball lands on the ground.
It shakes three times then shrinks down but hesitates for a second...
...But it clicks in afterwards.
Cody:Yes! Yeah!
Hop jumps as he shouts as well.
Cody picks up the ball as he sees the objects begin to fall and the black storm starts to dissipate.
He sighs then sees Zacian and Zamazenta come up to him.
The autistic boy smiles at them and they seem happy as well.
Cody:Thank you.
They howl into the air then run forward and jump into the horizon as the sun rises up,bringing a new day.
Cody waved to the two as he shouted...
Cody:Bye,Zacian and Zamazenta! I hope to see you both again,someday!
Afterwards,he started to cry as he then realized that he was able to save the day with his friend,never thinking he would become what he thought was only fictional
