Gulf's POV:
the school break has begun. It's summer Season now. It's so hot here in batangas. and also because of the heat of the weather there are also too many tourists. and because there are a lot of vacations and outings, mama and uncle Mild are just as busy.
uncle Mild is a CEO of a large company where he runs resorts and hotels. just like Dada. Mama is also busy because he is uncle's secretary.
uncle champ is an engineer. he is also busy because the new branch of his wife, uncle mild's hotel is being built. so we are always the only ones left here at home.
Prim, on the other hand, only came home once because she was always with uncle Champ's parents. uncle's only child.
and she is the only granddaughter in the her both parents family. So all the attention and love is on Prim.
a month ago since that day. Meow has already forgotten about me. and that night he texted. he didn't even say who he was and how he got my number but I didn't answer that. I blocked him and changed my number so he couldn't message me.
a few weeks ago I heard they had left and flew to the states. so I was even more sad. I regretted that we had not had a chance to talk. because I ignored him those times. but I can do nothing. maybe I need to forget him too.
we live in a subdivision but we are just close to the sea and surrounded by resorts. and when we found out one of the newly built resorts was Dada's.
we were so excited because we had a chance to see each other. Mama didn't ban us either because he said we had the right to know our Dada.
but I could see in him the trace of concern. he thinks maybe that when we see Dada we will just leave him and go with him. that's not going to happen.
so he also often dreams and cries. and he says we will leave him when he sleep. so we were even more scared and worried.
I feel sorry for him because he didn’t like everything that had been happening over the past seven years.
I couldn't stand it so I told everything I read in mama's diary to Kira and Grace. except for Gab for being too talkative.
and even though we wanted to go to Dada’s resort and introduce ourselves as his children we didn’t. because we can't bear to see mama that miserable.
why? because he thinks that we will leave him, but there is a possibility that Dada he might take us away to mama. I know I Dada is a famous businessman and has many connections.
and even though he is my father I am still not sure of him. the pain that mama experienced was enough. so we even heard that he was at the other resort. especially during the grand opening of his resort we were forced not to go even though it was itching for us to show up.
and now mama and uncle Mild are leaving and going to baguio because one of uncle mild's company branches has a problem, so they have to go there and fix it. since last night mama has been restless, I asked her but she said she was fine. I just agreed even though I knew and I didn't. maybe he's worried that when he comes back here we'll be gone. he heard from uncle mild that Dada is here in batangas. so I knew this was what he was afraid of.
They were leaving and me and my siblings took them outside. I saw that he feel like restless. He could hardly let go of our hands.
I was just looking at them for a long time when Gab suddenly squeezed his nose so his thoughts returned to reality.
"Mama, what are you thinking? Don’t you say that you’re not used to being separated from us? do you always go to faraway places? once a whole week yet?" As I said.
Grace was crying again. so my youngest sibling teases her.
"And again... with the best actress. the always cry baby of all, goes to Grace Kirigun. like a fool, Mama is just going to Baguio, not going abroad. don't you say that you want be with him?" he teased.
"Mom, I want to come with you." said Grace. so Gab laughed out loud and imitated his sister's crying.
"Mom, I want to come with you." then laughed again so i hit gab.
" is that funny? your sister is already crying, are you still laughing?" I said as Gab just scratched his head.
"you are really such panget ka-bonding kuya. tsskkk ... Mama, be careful there. It's very cold there. please bring the dew here in batangas, it's too hot." and he handed me a jag.
so we laughed even more. this my sibling of mine and his antics.
"Just a joke Mama. you need to leave, or else your daughter here might flood of tears" said Gab.
"Don't worry mama and uncle Mild, I'll take care of them. and to Gab who is so naughty. I will tie it to the tree not to be reprimanded. And don't forget our souvenirs. even the strawberry jam and sundot-kulangot." smiling Kira said.
He hugged us again and got in the car. He looked at in the side mirror of the car until the car he was riding in was farther and farther away.
when mama left, we immediately went inside. the weather is so hot. it's nice to swim in the sea. but I remembered that my favorite soccer team had a game so I immediately went upstairs.
while I was watching, Gab immediately entered my room.
"Kuya, Techno and I are just going out. we'll just play. do you like mango? I'll take you to aling marites tree." said Gab.
I just nodded as response.and he immediately ran closer to me and hugged me tightly. even though Gab was naughty and reprehensible. he is very tender brother. of our four siblings, he is the most showy and not shy to show what he is and being a loving brother.
they came out and left me in my room again. After I watched, I went down to help Ate Kira in the kitchen and it was getting late. I first looked at the clock when I met Gab who was in a hurry and in tears. kuya. he said and hugged me at the same time. I hugged him too and stroked his back.
"What happened? did you fight again?" I asked him. he just shook his head and said
"I saw dada with his son." Kira and Grace immediately left the kitchen. They hear what Gab said. And i saw their faces in surprised both.
"really? aren't you mistaken?" said Kira. Gab nodded.
"What happened? how did you two meet?" ask by ate Kira.
and Gab told the whole story. my forehead frowned because what Tar what he did.
"Kuya, you know. Dada is really handsome in person. we are still alike." Gab replied smiling.
we are currently at the dinner table while eating dinner. Nanay Glo left because her grandson is sick. And he is needed because his son is also just leaving going to Saudi. So there is no one else to take care of but her.
Ate Kira just smiled and said
"So much baby. in fact, you really share what you got from mama and dada." we just smiled at what she said.
we know that ate kira is not a our real sister. mama didn't hide it from us. and even so, we love Ate Kira so much like a real sister.
Gab also didn't go out for two days because he said he didn't want to see Tar. and he might not control his self and just punch Tar because of what he did to him. and he said he didn't want Dada to see him like that.
in the extreme heat of the weather I was just in the bedroom and sleeping. I was shocked to hear someone crying. I was suddenly bored because Gab made Grace cry again because I heard her screaming from up here.
I go down the stairs while speaking. "can you be quiet? the weather is so hot already , you added more noise...."
When I see the person I want to see.
He stood up and approached me while crying. I was so shock staring at him and I can't believe what i sees. I was furrowed, but I felt that my tears were already flowing. Dada immediately hugged me tightly.
" Gulf, my son. How are you? Do you know me?" Dada said while holding my two cheeks. I just nodded and hugged me tightly.
"sorry if Dada only saw you now."he said. While caressed my back while I crying quietly, and he kissed my head head.
I moved away from him a little so we could stare at each other. I just smiled and kissed him on the cheek.
"thank you for finding us." I said sparingly and I went to the kitchen. I could not believe what I saw. I finally saw Dada. I immediately went to the kitchen and helped my sister serve lunch on the table.
