Fabian's POV
Fabian" Where is Nina?"
Then Nina then comes running in.
Nina" I am here, I couldn't get Gran off the phone she is going on a ghost walk, so has Victor gone to the meeting"
Fabian" Yeah we saw him leave half an hour ago"
Nina" Okay, let's do this, Sibuna"
We all chorus Sibuna, with a hand pressed over our eye.
We make our way down to the tunnels through the oven passage way, thank god for this, with Victor locking the cellar out night, we would have never got anywhere. Amber and Alfie go first to have their amulets scanned and then it was mine, Nina and Patricia's turn. Me and Nina get through successfully and then it starts scanning Patricia but the beam doesn't scan the amulet and instead the light heads upwards and Patricia screams.
Patricia" Hang on guys!"
Nina" What happened, why didn't the amulet protect her?"
Patricia" Guys, I can't see, I can't see!"
Patricias then starts panicking and grabs Nina and I don't blame her, I would definitely panic if I was suddenly blind.
Nina" It's okay Patricia I have got you"
Fabian" What happened, she is wearing her amulet why didn't it protect her"
Patricia" Guys, I can't see, I can't see!"
Amber" It's horrible isn't it, totally blind, bat blind, three blind mice blind"
I look across at my fellow sibuna members now sporting a very worried look.
Fabian" Do you think they have a time limit on them, maybe that is why the spirit keeps saying watch the timepiece"
Alfie" But ours worked fine, didn't they, aren't they all the same?"
Patricia" Well, you see guys, I have something to tell you"
Fabian" What is it?"
Oh no what had she done, she couldn't possibly have done anything wrong.
Patricia" Well you see mine is the spare I may have borrowed it from the dollhouse"
Nina" Why, where is your amulet?"
Patricia" Okay, don't kill me but I lost my amulet okay I'm sorry"
Nina then glances at us all. I could tell she was worried and I think we were all thinking of the same thing. Victor.
Nina" What if Victor gets his hands on it?"
Patricia" I know. I know. I'm so sorry."
Alfie "Where did you lose it?"
Patricia "I don't know,"
Nina"It's okay, Let's just get you upstairs."
Patricia" No I'll be okay, you guys go"
Nina" Patricia I am not leaving you"
Patricia "I promise I'll be fine."
Nina "Only if you're sure."
Patricia "I'm sure. Go. Seriously."
So we reluctantly left Patricia in the study to put our practise to the test. We just needed not to touch any of the strings.
Nina" Okay, so we can do this just remember nice and slow"
I took a slow intake of breath and prepared myself for this, I mean this may look like fun and game but if we did touch the threads we were almost guaranteed a sting and probably worse. I have to admit the bells were a nice touch since it helped us remember the patterns.
Fabian" Okay, so me and Alfie will go first"
Nina" Just remember there is no need to rush"
Amber" And don't step on the threads, any of them"
Fabian" Slow yeah"
Alfie" Threads"
Fabian" Okay, we have got this, don't worry I aced it in practise"
I place my hand on Nina's shoulder to assure her that it's okay. I then start to weave my way through the threads, being very careful not to touch or hit any of them along the way. After a few near misses I manage to reach the end as does Alfie.
Amber" So what is with the hooks?"
Alfie" Yeah there is a silver one here"
Fabian" Yeah, yellow one here and red one there"
Amber" What about the gigantic spider?"
Fabian"It doesn't seem to go anywhere,"
Nina "So that must mean we put something in it,"
Alfie"Patricia, what are you doing here?"
We all look around and then see Patricia carefully but quickly making her way along the wall. Wait, she managed to get here blind and across the crocodile bridge. I think I would be way more impressed if it wasn't under such desperate circumstances.
Patricia" There is someone in the tunnel, we have got to hide"
Amber"Who is it?"
Nina"She can't see, remember?"
Nina grabs Patricia arm and holds her in place so she doesn't fall over.
Amber" What are we going to do, there's nowhere to hide"
Nina"Okay, guys, forget that whole thing I said, about going slowly. Just get back here as quick as you can."
I took another deep breath again as now me and Alfie had to get back not only very carefully but also quick. I wouldn't be surprised if either of us burnt ourselves on these threads. The other start to yell out telling us which threads to avoid and to be careful about how we move ourselves in the threads.
After nearly being caught by who ever was in the tunnels we had squashed ourselves into the vent where Nina had found the lever.
Amber" Fabian, will you get your elbow out of my face?"
Nina "Okay, who was it?"
Patricia "Uh, I don't know, I can't see, remember?"
Alfie"This is really bad!"
Nina "Come on, let's just get you out of here."
Charlie's POV
I was sitting on the bath with Jerome while my twin was on his back trying to unscrew the sink with some pliers.
Jerome" Are you sure, you know what you are doing Miller?"
Eddie" Hey, I have seen it on tv how hard can it be?"
Then Eddie pulls a pipe off and it sprays him with some brown gunk. Me and Jerome just sat on the bath laughing.
Charlie" You have seen it on telly have you?"
Eddie" Worlds Worst Plumbers"
Me and Jerome share a look at Eddie.
Eddie" Okay so maybe it wasn't exactly the right programme but I still got the pipe off didn't I"
Jerome" Nearly off, it's still attached Miller"
Eddie" Shut up"
Jerome" Yeah and you also have something on your face"
Eddie" What is it?"
Charlie" We don't know, I mean it came out of the sink, so its disgusting"
Then all three of us are startled as Vera comes into the bathroom, she jumps when she sees us. She is smiling but once she catches sight of Eddie with Victors tools her face changes to one of her concerned look.
Vera" Oh, Eddie, Charlie, Jerome you startled me, what are you up to and what are you doing with Victors tools?"
She eyes all three of us now very suspicious.
Charlie" I think you are going to have to come clean Jerome"
Jerome*sighs* I lost something down the drain and I was just trying to get it back"
Vera" Well I wish you had come to me first, never mind I can have a look for you"
Jerome" Okay"
Vera" Why don't you three go I'm sure you have things to do"
Charlie" Actually me and Eddie have some things to do"
Jerome" Oh yeah, that's okay, you two just leave me"
Charlie" Sorry Jerome"
Eddie" Sorry Jerry"
Nina's POV
I was standing in my room with Amber after the incident that Patricia had with the beam of light making her blind, it was course temporary like it had been with Amber. Well we hope it was temporary. I looked up as Fabian and Alfie had joined us.
Fabian "How's Patricia?"
Nina"She's okay, so what's going on?"
Fabian"Well, we need to find three things, to hang on the hooks, and some sort of large spider to put in the hole."
Amber "Come on, Sarah, throw us a bone here."
Nina"I'm more worried about who chased Patricia down the tunnel."
Fabian" Right, that someone was down there, so she didn't hear anything? No voice? Deep breathing? Any clue at all?"
Nina "Nothing. Just footsteps."
Amber" Someone with feet, well, that narrows it down."
Nina"Well, it must've been Victor, right?"
We all then hear a crash and Fabian opens the door to see Jerome pretending like he is not up to something.
Jerome" Fabian, you scared the life out of me"
Alfie"Hey, buddy, what's up?"
Jerome "Just waiting to use the girls' bathroom."
Fabian "Rather than the boys' one downstairs?"
Jerome" Well, I am so bored at that one, aren't you? I just fancied a change of scenery."
Alfie"I get that"
Fabian closes the door and him and Alfie look around at us.
Amber"Suspicious much?"
Fabian"You don't think it could've been Jerome down there, do you"
Nina" I don't think so but I am sure that he's hiding something"
Charlie's POV
It was nearly time for lights out so I was just heading down to see my brother before Victor gave his whole speech. I knock on the door before I enter and of course it's just Eddie, Fabian is never in their room
Eddie" Hey sis, what's up?"
Charlie" Just came to see you before lights out, you know you didn't have to help Jerome today, I mean after what he did to me"
Eddie" I know and I'm still mad at him for that but I thought I should help considering Jerome was failing miserably at it"
Charlie" Well you didn't do great, though it was better than Jerome"
Eddie then shifts closer and puts his hand on mine.
Eddie" Do you still like him?
Charlie" I don't know"
Eddie" Do you like him?"
Charlie" Yeah I guess I do, do you still like Patricia"
Eddie" I guess, I mean we have fun together but sometimes I'm never sure if she really likes me"
Charlie" I feel like that with Jerome, I mean this whole gem business has had us together a lot but we haven't really spoken about us"
Eddie" Relationships ay, who would want them?"
I chuckle leaning on my brothers shoulder and stay there for a while. We both then look at our bracelets and they are glowing.
Charlie" Eddie, why are our bracelets glowing, they have never glowed before has yours glowed before"
Eddie" No mine has never glowed before"
We sit there for a minute just watching the bracelets glow and then we realise that when we sit closer they glow brighter.
Charlie" This is so cool but also so weird at the same time"
Eddie" Yeah I agree, why are they glowing what does this mean?"
Charlie" Okay, hold on let me try something"
I hop up from my brothers bed and then start to slowly back away from him until I hit the door. The bracelet has got slightly dimmer, I move closer again and it glows brighter and brighter.
Charlie" It reacts when we get close to each other, it's like its connected to something"
Eddie" Maybe it's because we are twins"
Charlie" Yeah that could be it, I just don't get it why are they glowing what are they trying to tell us"
Eddie" I don't know, I mean I just got this bracelet from my aunt"
Charlie" I got mine from Jason, I never really thought it meant anything"
Eddie" We should keep an eye on this"
Charlie" Definitely"
Victor" It's ten o clock you have 5 minutes precisely and then I want to hear a pin drop"
Charlie" I better go"
Eddie" Night sis"
Charlie" Night bro"
Story Notes
So The Twins help Jerome to try and get his gem back, The Sibuna's put their practise to the test and find out there is someone else is the tunnels. Also The Twins find out their bracelets have started glowing.
