"We desperately need our boundaries back baby"...
✰✰✰
The sun had risen by the time Jasper Hale had gained the courage to walk back into the apartment taking in the broken glass and dried blood on the carpet and door...
"Where'd you go?" Jasper actually jumped at the sound of Addison Cullen's barely audible voice as came out from the bedroom, a fluffy gray blanket wrapped around her body, the very same blanket from their bedroom in Forks Washington...
Jasper jammed his hands into his jean pockets as he awkwardly swayed from side to side, "I just went out for a walk, cleared my head... What did you do other than survive a hurricane?" he mumbled taking in the broken cups and plates along with the spilled orange juice carton filled with blood that was staining the flooring...
"Hurricane Addison"...
"I don't wanna fight anymore Addison"... His voice was a barely audible whisper sensing her unsure gaze as he closed his eyes, unable to look her in the eyes, her emotions were all over the place making it hard to pinpoint just one...
"I-I know that sounds stupid coming me because I started most- all of the fights but I really just don't want to fight with you anymore"...
✰✰✰
Addison Cullen pulled the fluffy gray blanket tighter around her body as she leaned against the kitchen counter unsure what to say as she studied her husband, he just seemed really tired...
His normally soldier perfect posture was slack, his shoulders had sagged with exhaustion, his honey blonde hair was unkempt, locks moved in every which way from running his hands through it... It seemed everything had taken a toll on her husband as well...
"I really just don't wanna fight anymore Addison... I'm tired of fighting with you"...
"Good because I don't wanna fight with you anymore either... I just wanna talk"... Her voice was just as quiet as she slowly sat down on the wooden stool pulling the blanket tighter around her body...
The Husband and Wife sat there in complete silence neither one of them knowing what to say nor how to say it so they just sat there staring at the oh so interesting floor.
Addison's leg bounced up and down chewing on the inside of her cheek until finally Jasper got the courage and finally broke, "I- I am really sorry Addison"...
Addison's golden eyes flicked away from the floor with shock and finally Jasper peeled his eyes away from the flooring staring at his wife with regret swimming around his iries as her nerves grew tenfold...
✰✰✰
"You were right this whole time... I haven't been the best husband in months- maybe even years... I was a horrible husband during Bella's pregnancy, and I'm sorry... I'm sorry for talking behind your back with Alice, and I'm sorry for making you think I was cheating with Alice"...
"I'm sorry for calling you delusional when you weren't... I'm sorry for accusing you of wanting Bella dead when you were just trying to be a good friend- you are a great friend"...
"And I am so sorry for breaking your heart when all you wanted was a baby... All you wanted was a baby with me and I- I broke your heart... B-But I swear I wasn't calling you the monster I was- I was talking about m-me... But I want- I wish I could take everything I said back- And you're right I left you alone- and worse I left you alone and took Alice with me"...
"To protect me?" Addison's quiet voice sounded more like a question than a statement as she tugged the blanket tighter around her body for comfort and all he wanted to do was wrap his arms around her body...
"I- I no... It was for a more selfish reason, I didn't want you to get hurt so I left you behind thinking you'd be safe but I ended up being the one hurting you"...
"You're right Addison... I should have taken you with me, I should have taken your side, I should have been an actual husband, and I shouldn't have tried to apologize over a damn letter like some coward... I just don't want to lose you- I'm fucking scared to lose you but you don't deserve someone who constantly starts arguments, you deserve someone else... Someone better"...
✰✰✰
Addison watched as he hung his head, words fading away as his body started shaking and her mouth fell open with a slight pop, she had only ever seen him cry once or twice, he wasn't a crier and when he did he normally tried to hide the tears but she always hated seeing him cry and hearing his uneven breaths as he tried to calm himself down, tore her hearts to shreds...
She stepped forward the blanket falling to the floor as she reached out to him not stopping as he turned around quickly trying to hide his tears but she walked around him gently grabbing his face and forcing him to look her in the eyes, her grip tightening when he tried to pull away from her...
"If you want this work you have to stop hiding from me- which means" she continued as he finally stopped trying to move away allowing her to loosen her grip, "stop trying to hide your tears"...
"I didn't think marriage was supposed to be this difficult"... Jasper sniffled as Addison's thumb gently wiped away the fallen venom tears lightly chuckling remembering Fred's and Leah's words of wisdom. "It's just the harsh reality of soulmates"...
"I think that if marriage was easy we'd be doing it wrong, you know? I mean marriage itself is messy and complicated, it's probably one of the most complicated of all relationships because it actually consists of more than one relationship. It's like a rope of several interwoven strands; each strand helps or hinders the marriage".
"A marriage is both as strong as its strongest strand and as weak as its weakest, the more the partners have in common the stronger their band. And to keep the marriage healthy, they both must do their equal share, and do so by working together- not by running away" her last words were pointed towards him as she lifted his chin with a small smile...
✰✰✰
"Marriage consists of several different primary relationships and to grasp the height, depth, and breadth of a marriage, each dynamic must be understood- In the briefest terms; number one is friendship, the partners need to be best friend instead of jumping straight into a relationship, that means above all they can share and communicate freely".
"These elements have to be in place for a friendship to prosper, trust, honesty, loyalty, faithfulness, consistency, confidentiality, commitment, respect, understanding, and sensitivity also need to be in place".
Jasper never understood how she stored so much information in her brain when she went into therapist mode or in this case couple counselor mode...
"The second one is physical- this refers not only to the sexual but the physical relationship as a whole, the way the partners kiss and hug, their frequency of touching, their sensitivity, and pleasure in each other's body, those significantly affect martial satisfaction".
Addison's hands were moving around as she talked trying to get her point across.
"Number three is extended family or the in-law outlaw relationship while neither can ask nor expect their spouse to love any of their family members they can ask that they treat their family with kindness and respect which isn't really a problem for us because we all live together- but the big thing is avoiding forcing their spouse to choose between their family and the marriage and avoiding taking your spouse's twin sister's side and vice versa"...
"And number four is recreational, the couple must play as well as work together, they need shared as well as individual interests to have proper balance".
"A relationship has three important components, they need to love each other with the same love and the same extent, they need to have a common set of values and they need to be committed to each other"...
✰✰✰
Addison moved her hands back to Jasper's face as she spoke, "I don't want a divorce, love- and I don't want someone different or- or better I want you- that's all I ever wanted, why can't you understand that? Why can't you understand that you are not going to lose me, no matter how many times you piss me off"...
"But we need some boundaries, somehow we lost those during Bella's pregnancy and we need them back- a lot of people think boundaries are there to keep us separated and while that's true to extent, they are also a way for us to become closer and fully united with our partners, because then we're able to have a healthy sense of self and an ability to communicate our needs/boundaries".
"This way we can have the relationship we both desire. A relationship that makes us both happy"...
"Boundaries are crucial in a relationship Jasper, they help keep us differentiated, boundaries enable a person to embody their self-worth and know what is necessary to respect and protect their own desires, needs, and beliefs".
"Without boundaries, people can easily become enmeshed or interact in ways that create unhealthy dynamics, ultimately boundaries help couples avoid issues like codependency, anger, anxiety, conflict, and more-"
Addison took an unneeded breath stopping her rambling as she messed with his shirt collar. "We desperately need our boundaries back baby"...
✰✰✰
"I think we both agree that our biggest boundary is we can't just run away from each other without letting the other one know or taking the other one along"...
Jasper quickly nodded in agreement feeling Addison's emotions spike with hope, this was all she wanted for them to agree on things like they used to... Get their boundaries back in place...
"And the second one is no taking Alice's side when we're fighting- that's a respect thing, we can still have different opinions, and you two can be best friends, I am perfectly okay with that- but you can not gossip about me behind my back with my sister, and I can't either, to any of our siblings"...
"And the last one is more of a request but I'd really like that vacation I was promised"...
Jasper chuckled at his wife's words as her mood brightened, even the sun seemed to brighten with her giggles...
"I'm serious, we need some space by ourselves and not separated from each other, we need a vacation to re-strengthen our relationship"...
✰✰✰
"I can definitely do that... Any more requests?" Jasper asked as Addison stepped closer wrapping her arms around his neck feeling like a relief was lifted off her shoulders, the world shifting back to the right balance...
"Yeah there is one more thing" her words were playful and teasing making Jasper raise an eyebrow.
"Kiss me please" her words were suddenly a soft whisper as she stared up at him through her golden lashes as he didn't wait another second before his lips gently pressed against hers, his hands pulled her flush against his chest by her waist as her hands messed with the scuff of hair at the base of his neck...
They both felt the tension slip away with every kiss... "I love you" he mumbled in-between each sweet kiss making her smile, "I love you too- Oh and happy late anniversary".

Oh also I need some help from y'all with two important things. One where should they go on vacation for the next chapter.
And two: Should they actually adopt a baby or maybe just a dog being Fred is now their kid?
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and please feel free to leave any comments or criticism. <3 Jade
