Two years after the events of the college campus murders Jake wakes up in his apartment alone as he turns on the tv and sees that cotton weary and his girlfriend have been murdered
Jake: shit
(At moment later his phone rings and he answers)
Jake: hello
Detective Kincaid: is this Jake Robertson
Jake: yes
Detective Kincaid: I'm Detective mark Kincaid I'm asking if you have time to meet me
Jake: um yeah sure Detective I'll head over to the station
Detective Kincaid: that'll work thank you Mr. Robertson
Jake: of course (hangs up the phone)
Later at the police station in Los Angeles as Jake walks in and meets with Mark Kincaid
Jake: Detective Kincaid
Detective Kincaid: ah Mr. Robertson thanks for meeting with me
Jake: of course how can I help
Detective Kincaid: um well I'm sure you've heard cotton weary's murder
Jake: yes I have
Detective Kincaid: well since you and sidney Prescott survived this sort of attack before
Jake: so you're saying cotton was killed by someone wearing a Ghostface mask
Detective Kincaid: yep we checked his security camera's and a person was dressed up as Ghostface and left this picture (hands it to him ) have any idea who the girl might be
Jake: oh my God that's Maureen Prescott sidney's mother Detective Kincaid I think I know who can help us with this
Detective Kincaid: who
Jake: the woman who wrote the book on this Gale weathers with your permission Detective is that okay
Detective Kincaid: if she can help in anyway yes
Cut to later as a college that Gale just gave a lecture at as she with Jake and Detective Kincaid
Jake: hey Gale
Gale: Jake oh my God hi (As they hug )
Jake: this Detective Kincaid
Detective Kincaid: hi that's an impressive resume
Gale: thank you I assume you two aren't here for an autograph
Jake: no we're here because cotton weary's been murdered
Gale: someone killed cotton
Detective Kincaid: and his girlfriend and that someone left something else
(Giving her the picture of Maureen Prescott)
Gale: oh my God that's Maureen Prescott sidney's mom
Jake: we know that's way I told Detective Kincaid that you would be the best person to help with this
Gale: really um yes yes of course
Detective Kincaid: good you two meet me at sunrise studios on the set of stab 3
Jake: of course
Gale: absolutely
Next day Gale and Jake walk into the set of stab 3
Gale: you know not that I'm not flattered that you thought of me but why not sidney since it was her mother's picture that was found
Jake: I would have if I knew where she was
Gale: she hasn't tried to call you since she left
Jake: not even a fucking postcard
Gale: I'm sorry I didn't know
Jake: (sighs) it's fine
(As they look around the set)
Gale: Jesus
Jake: talk about deja vu
(As Gale sets up a camera in her purse)
As Jennifer Jolie the woman who is playing Gale in the movie came up to them
Jennifer: Gale weathers! Oh my God!
Gale: shit
Jennifer: listen I know we've never met and I don't mind you not returning my calls but I have to tell you after two films I feel like I am in your mind
Gale: that would explain my constant headaches
Jennifer: I'm sorry things didn't work out on 60 minutes two but total entertainment that's a pretty good fall back
Gale: thank you I'm sorry things didn't work out with Brad Pitt but being single that's a good fallback
Jennifer: gives more time for my work after all Gale weathers you're such a complex character
Gale: oh and to be played by an actress with such depth and range
(As Dewey walked up to them)
Dewey: uh Jennifer nick said you wanted to Gale Jake
Jennifer: Dewey

Jake: Dewey
Dewey: well surprise surprise someone dies and Gale comes running
Although I am generally surprised to see you here Jake
Jake: yeah well I was asked to work with the police on this they said they wanted my help with this
(As Jennifer walks up to Dewey standing beside him)
Jennifer: Gale I think you'll really appreciate my character work in this one someone's helped me understand the real you
Gale: (looking at Dewey) someone
Jennifer: your ruthless ambition your private self loathing and that lost and lonely little girl inside
Gale: lost and lonely what
Jennifer: you heard me (then looks at Dewey) thanks Dewey I'll return it
(As Jennifer walks away just leaving Gale Dewey and Jake)
Gale: lost and lonely what!
Dewey: little girl inside
Gale: I thought you were supposed to be in woodsboro
Dewey: well I'm surprised you thought about me at all
Jake: so you work here now
Dewey: actually yes the movie needed a technical advisor someone who went through the real experience knew the real people
Jake: exactly why Kincaid wanted me on this case
(As Tom Prinze who plays Dewey in stab 3 walks by )
Tom: hey Dewey
Dewey: hey Tom
Tom: hey! It's the real Gale weathers
Gale: real from top to bottom
Tom: and the real Jake Robertson
Jake: yes hi
Tom: hi Tom Prinze (shakes his hand then looks at Gale) watch your show all the time (then shakes her hand) you're so right pop culture is the politics of the 21st century
Gale: thank you
Tom: and that story that you did last month on me crashing my car wow was that ever powerful journalism
Gale: right um yeah
Tom: I especially liked the way you implied that it was caused by drinking and drugs and that the tire blowout was faked that was great
Gale: Tom sometimes in journalism you have to
Tom: are you parked in the lot I should check to make sure nobody's messed with the breakline
(As he walks off)
Gale: who's he supposed to be
Jake: really Gale you can't tell (motions to Dewey)
Gale: (chuckles) (looks at Dewey) he's playing you him (laughs)
Dewey: what
Gale: I did not come here to fight with you Dewey
Jake: cotton's killer left a picture
Dewey: of sid's mom the Detectives told me
Gale: does sidney know about it
Dewey: listen sidney doesn't need you and your camera in her life
Gale: do you see a camera
Dewey: (clears his throat looking at her purse knowing there's a camera in it)
Gale: right you bought me this purse didn't you
Dewey: yeah
Gale: it's a habit I walk outta the house
I turn it on and
(John Milton the films producer noticed Gale)
John: what the hell is this Gale weathers
Gale weathers: could I be more popular
John: no press no press on set get that woman out of here!
(As security guards drags Gale off the set )
Gale: wait a minute Jake tell them we're working with detective Kincaid
Where's detective Kincaid we're working with Kincaid Dewey
Dewey: rules are rules Gale but really it was great seeing you
Jake: look Dewey I know Gale is probably the last person you want to see right now believe me now how it feels but can we get coffee or something to talk about this
Dewey: sure of course Jake
Jake: thanks man listen I'll call you later to meet
(As Jake followed Gale outside)
That ends chapter one in this it's where Jake and sidney are broken up because when sidney leaves to live in hiding she left Jake and didn't tell him anything to try and keep him safe so let me know what you guys think in the comments
