"You have got to be kidding me," Damon said.
"Why would they attack again so soon?" Stefan asked.
"They aren't with Katherine," I said. "Only a few of them went with her."
"Why are they attacking?" Elena asked.
"They want revenge," Stefan said.
"For what?" Jeremy asked.
"They blame us for them getting locked up in the tomb," Stefan said.
"God," Damon said. "You'd think they'd be over that by now."
"I know," I said. "It's been, what, 145 years?"
"People these days," Damon said, shaking his head.
"How can you guys joke at a time like this?" Caroline asked in disbelief.
"Worse things have happen," Damon said.
"Like that haircut Stefan had in 1983," I said. "Do you remember that?"
"Hard not to," Damon said, wincing a little. "It was horrible."
"I know," I said, faking a shudder.
Everybody looked at us as if we were mental. Well, everyone except Stefan. He just glared at us.
"Moving on," Damon muttered.
"When will it happen?" Lexi asked.
"Tomorrow at sundown," Shadow said.
"How did you guys find out about this?"
"They're hiding out in a house on the outskirts of Mystic Falls," Shadow said. "We over heard them planning."
"How did you manage to get close enough to the house without them finding you?" Damon asked.
"Vampire hearing,"
"How did Marni hear them?" Damon asked.
"Yeah, about that," I said. "I have the senses of a vampire."
"How the hell did you manage that?" Damon asked.
"I ate some weird mushrooms I found in the forrest and they gave me mysterious powers," I said. "Lol jokes. Shadow did this wierd magical thing and bam! I have vampiric senses. Though the mushroom thing would've been cool,"
Damon stared at me for a second. Then suddenly he pegged something at me.
Using my vampire skills, I caught it. It turns out it was a book.
I glared at him.
"Just checking," he said.
"You're not going to run around and start eating people, are you?" Stefan asked.
"No Stefan, I'm going to run around and eat all of the squirrals, just to piss you off," I said.
He glared at me again.
"Relax, I'm joking," I said. "I'm only attracted to human blood, animal blood's disgusting,"
Shadow must have known I was up to something because he didn't say anything.
"What?" Stefan asked sharply.
I didn't answer, I just stared at Jeremy. I gave him a look that said, Roll with it.
I lunged at Jeremy, and bent his neck to the side. Everyone shouted in alarm and jumped up, except for Shadow and Damon. Damon obviously knew I was up to something too.
Instead of biting Jeremy, I kissed his neck and pulled back, laughing.
"God you people freak out easily," I said. "I don't actually drink blood. And I'd never hurt Jeremy."
Jeremy started laughing too, and Damon had an amused expression on his face.
Stefan glared at me, Lexi shook her head, looking a little amused and Elena laughed a little bit. I looked over at Caroline. She just looked extremely confused.
I smiled up at Jeremy and he put his arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him.
"How many are we up against?" Damon asked.
"Around twenty," I said.
"Do you think we can take them?" Stefan asked.
"It'll be hard, but we'll manage," I said.
"Are you going to tell them who their main focus is?" Shadow asked.
I glared at him. "No, actually, I wasn't."
"Who's their main focus?" Stefan asked.
"Marni," Shadow said. "They think she's the weekest link because of what happened the other day and they know it'll distract you and Damon if they hurt her because you guys care about her."
I glared at him more ferociously. "Thanks for sharing Shadow."
"Why wouldn't you tell us this?" Stefan asked me.
"Because I don't want you to worry," I said, "You're already worried enough about me even though I'm fine, and now you're going to be even more worried about me, but the truth is I'm absolutely fine!"
I heard Damon let out a laugh.
"You are far from fine Marni," he said. "You can barely walk."
"I'm fine Damon," I said.
"Okay, jump up and down and tell me if it hurts," he said.
"Fine then," I said.
I jumped up, then landed on my feet. I ignored the pain that shot through my legs.
"See? I'm fine." I said.
"Then why did you wince when you hit the ground?" he asked.
"Oh my God!" I said/yelled. "You know what? I'm not fine! Yeah, my whole body hurts like hell whenever I move, but there is nothing I can do about it! You want to know why I say I'm fine? So you will stop worrying about me. I don't like to be worried about and I don't need to be worried about. There is a whole house full of vampires that are going to attack us tomorrow, that is what you should be worrying about! Not me!"
Without waiting for a response, I turned and stormed out of the room, going upstairs into my bedroom.
Damon was standing by my bed, waiting for me.
"What do you want?" I muttered, brushing past him and sitting on my bed. I unzipped my boots and took them off, wriggling my toes.
"Why don't you want us to worry about you?" he asked.
"Because it's not needed," I said.
"Well, considering the fact that your the main target of twenty phycopathic vampires out for revenge, I'd say it's needed," he said.
"Not helping Damon," I said.
I sighed and flopped back on my bed, looking at my ceiling.
Damon layed down beside me.
"Why are you so against people worrying about you?" he asked.
"Because it makes me feel helpless," I said. "Like I can't take care of myself, when I can."
"We know you can," he said. "It's just that you were seriously hurt, and we're worried about the effect that will have on you."
"Did you just, show concern for me?" I asked. I looked up at him, worrying about his mental state.
"Never speak of this again," he said quickly.
I laughed.
"I told you that you guys have the same sense of humor," a familiar voice said.
Damon was up in a flash, standing protectively in front of me.
I stood up and looked at our intruder.
"What the hell are you doing here Katherine?" Damon asked.
"I want to help you," Katherine said, a grin on her face.
"Yeah, and I want a sandwhich, but hey, we don't always get what we want," I said. "Now get out of my room, I don't like you, and the only people who get to come in my room, are the people I like."
"Someones in a bitchy mood," she said.
I sighed. I so didn't want to put up with this right now.
