"Why are you here so early in the morning, Takemitchy?" Mikey asked, one of his eyes still closed.
Draken, as usual, went to his house and woke him up. But this time, he encountered Takemichi on his way. The smaller thought that maybe he could talk to Mikey so he went with the other.
"Mikey, 10 AM is never early. Get up, we're going to school," Draken said, used to this routine.
"I didn't get enough sleep, Kenchin," Mikey whined. "And I'm asking you, Takemitchy. What brings you here?"
"Let's talk about that inside so you can eat your breakfast too," Draken pulled Mikey out of his bed.
Manjiro dragged himself to wherever Ken is going. Takemichi tagged along, calming himself down so he could pursue his friend to cooperate with him.
Once they settled down, with Draken giving Mikey a piece of bread to eat for breakfast, Mikey looked at Takemichi, showing a curious expression. Draken went out to get uniform for Mikey, leaving the both of them to talk in private. Well, not totally private.
"Mikey-kun," Takemichi sighed. He doesn't know what else to do. It's not like he should just kill Izana. "What would you do if Izana-kun goes missing?"
Mikey slightly choked because of the sudden question. "Why are you asking? Is there something wrong?"
Takemichi immediately shook his head, lying. "I'm just curious. There's just something that bothers me."
"This taste good," Mikey chewed his food. "Try it."
The other blonde sighed. Has he been too serious? Why does he feel like he's just stressing himself? Everything seems fine but it's actually the opposite.
"I'd be a detective if that happens," Mikey grabs another bread. "Did you go back to the future yet?"
Shaking his head again, Takemichi tries not to tell him everything because a part of him doesn't want to completely go against Izana. "I can't go back because... my mission is not done yet."
"To make us stay?" Mikey asks, filling his mouth with food. "We promised!"
"Mmm, I just... I don't know why I can't go back," Takemichi reasons while lowering his head.
Manjiro observes his friend's actions. He feels— no, he knows something is up and Takemichi knows it. He knows that the other is lying but he doesn't want to pressure him. It's Takemichi and if he ever needed help, he would always ask Toman.
"Why didn't you go to school yet?" Mikey asks, eating his third bread. "Are you skipping school?"
"No, I— I wasn't feeling well earlier so I thought I should just stay home. I felt better after a couple of hours of sleeping," Takemichi isn't lying this time.
He felt nauseous and headache after skipping sleep. He waited for Izana to come back and this time, Izana took too long. He was always meeting with Kakucho and they just seem to be hanging out. Takemichi still doesn't have any idea what they were talking about.
"What should I do, Takemitchy?" Mikey shifts his mood into serious mode. He ate all of his bread so it's time to get to the point. "I know you are keeping it from me, so just tell me what to do."
"Mikey-kun..."
Manjiro waited for Takemichi to speak. Instead, he showed his teary eyes, like usual, and sighed. He stands up and bows, startling Mikey with his unexplainable actions and mood swings.
"I promise you, Mikey-kun. I will fix everything. I will do my best... so... don't go away. If ever Izana-kun goes missing, I'll help you find him," Takemichi wipes his tears and smiles.
"Okay, but I still don't get you," Mikey narrows his eyes. "Be careful, Takemitchy. I'll be watching you. You can't keep a secret from me for long."
"Mikey!" Draken calls, just in time. "Are you not done yet? Hurry up!"
"Thank you, Mikey-kun. Thank you Draken-kun," Takemichi bows again before going out of there.
The semi-private conversation was heard by the last person who should've heard it. Izana feels nervous and anxious. He starts thinking if Takemichi knows what they're plotting. He knows well that Takemichi can ruin his plan so he needs to handle this as early as possible.
Izana immediately goes to his room and locks it. He texts Kakucho to meet him at 8 PM later. He could just meet the other right now but he has plans.
After waiting for the right time, he goes to Mikey's school and bothers his brother. Mikey looks at Izana, furrowing his eyebrows. He is purposely showing a suspicious face.
"Why?" Manjiro asks, walking away from his classroom.
"Just give it to me, don't ask," Izana replies. "I'll buy my own bike next month."
"No, I'll use it," Mikey refuses. "Kenchin and I are going around the city."
This makes Izana groan. He didn't want to go anywhere without a bike so he needs to convince Mikey. Meanwhile, the reason why Mikey doesn't allow him to borrow is because of Takemichi. As much as possible, Izana shouldn't disappear, especially with his bike.
"Can't you just ride with him?" Izana is forced to fasten his pace because Mikey tries to get away from him.
"No, I don't want to."
"Come on, Mikey!" Izana is close to punching his brother and stealing the keys. "I can't go to (Y/N)'s school without a bike!"
Manjiro then halts, making Izana bump into him. He wore a mischievous smile before turning to face his older brother.
"Here you go," Mikey gives the key. "Take care of babu." Then he walks away.
Although confused with Mikey's action, Izana doesn't pay attention to that anymore. It took him time to borrow the key so you might not be in the school anymore. He needs to hurry.
On his way, he sees you walking with Yumeri. This makes him double think. He doesn't want to be bothered by Yumeri but he really wants to talk to you.
Unfortunately, Yumeri spots him when she turned her head. She waves her hand and runs towards him. You follow her, putting your hands behind your back.
"I knew I heard Mikey's babu," Yumeri smiles.
"Curse this sound," Izana says under his breath.
Once you step closer to Yumeri, she immediately pushes you near Izana. She's excited. You look at her with confused face, then, you remember that she wasn't aware with what's going on between Takemichi and Izana.
"Here you go," Yumeri says. "I can walk on my own. Enjoy your time with him, bye!!" then she runs away.
You think that maybe this is a good idea. Maybe you could talk to Izana about his plans and stop him? Maybe you can work it out with him. You just wish that you wouldn't feel awkward with him or he wouldn't feel you're being cautious around him.
"Hop in," he simply says, trying to be cool.
You sigh. "Where are we going?"
"Anywhere."
"Last time, I almost fell off. I don't want to ride—"
Izana parks the bike and gets off. He pulls out the key, putting it in his pocket. "Should we walk?"
You chuckle. "Is there something you want to tell me? Or you just want to spend time with me?" you teased.
"Both," you got startled by his response. You didn't think that he would be straightforward with his answers.
"What is it?" this time, you ask seriously.
"Walk or Ride?"
Groaning, you put your bag in front of your body. "If you don't have any idea where to go, let's just go to a playground."
Izana agrees and gets on the motorcycle. He puts the helmet on your head and knocks on it three times, again. You pout your mouth before riding it.
"Aren't you gonna hold onto me?" he asks. "I'll be fast."
"Do you even know where we are going?"
"Oh, yeah, no."
"Just head straight at your home. There's an old playground in the vicinity."
He looks at you first and nods before starting the engine and driving away, fast, just like what he said. You immediately place your hands on his shoulder.
Both of you are silent throughout the ride. Izana pays attention to the surroundings if he could find an old playground so he doesn't notice you being quiet.
Once you arrive, he parks the bike on an empty space while you go straight for the swing. You sit down on the rusty swing, waiting for him. He takes the seat beside you after parking the vehicle.
No one starts a conversation so you decide to speak. "Is anything wrong?"
"If you were to reincarnate, what would you change in your life?" he asks to which you respond with a light laugh. "What?"
"Why are we talking about reincarnation?" you ask back, pushing yourself so you could enjoy the swing. "First, you want to become a king. Next, you want to reincarnate. How far is your childishness?"
"I'm asking seriously."
"I'm not gonna die yet, which means I am not gonna reincarnate soon."
"Just answer it!"
"Why are you mad?" you look at his annoyed face and sigh. "Fine. I don't really think about it so I don't know. But, I surely want to meet you again."
Izana is flustered with your words. He doesn't know why and he denies having to feel a different sensation in his stomach but his ears show it all. Deep inside him knows it's called butterflies but he really doesn't want to admit it.
"Yumeri, Emma, Hina, Mikey and the whole Toman, you and Kakucho. I want to become friends with all of you again," somehow, this makes Izana disappointed. Like, why do want to meet them too? Can't it be only him?
"If you are to choose a parent, what kind of parent would it be?" he changes the topic.
"How about you?" you look at him and smile, tilting your head to the side.
"I am asking you, not myself."
"I want to know your opinion first."
Izana sighs. "I just want a complete family. With parents who won't abandon me."
"Siblings?" you ask. "Want Mikey and Emma to be your siblings again?"
"Of course, not," Izana refuses aggressively. "I don't want any more trouble."
"You face says the opposite," again you made him frown. "Anyways, if only I could choose my parents, I'd still choose them."
"The fuck?! Why?"
"I'd rather change myself than change them," you say, looking away. "I told you, they were best when I was the best."
Izana looks at you with curiosity pasted on his face.
"They gave me more than what I need. They supported me wholeheartedly. They gave me happiness. All they want for me is the best, to be the best. I just couldn't."
"Because of Yumeri?"
