"Why would I think about robbing banks?"
"I don't know just because, for the thrill" I shrugged taking a sip of my water
Jen and I lay on her bed watching good girls when the thought just randomly hit me well probably not randomly since the show was good girls and that was mainly about modern women robbing grocery stores I just thought about how was it possible that every single time they'd gotten away with it I wondered if I could to if I had the intention of robbing a bank not that I did though
Jen looked at me with a crooked facial expression tilting her head a bit to the side "are you having money issues?"
"If I were having money issues you think I'd be here with you right now?"
"I don't know, you don't really tell me much of anything these days," Jen said nonchalantly
"Now What's that supposed to mean?"
"I don't mean anything by it I just mean our schedules these days look different"
"Yeah I guess you are right" I really hadn't noticed that until Jen bought it up yeah we didn't really see as much of each other as I'd liked but it was only because I decided to stay and finish my college work online while she decided to go back plus with work and everything it has kind of has been a bit hectic between us but neither of us ever complained though that was good right?
"Honey I'm not saying it like it's a bad thing or whatever it's just what it is the fact that you and I could bounce back after well I don't know everything should show you how secure our friendship is I'm not saying it to make you feel bad or anything you and I have completely separate lives, yeah maybe under the same roof but that doesn't matter just knowing we're at a place that we could always get in sync with each other wherever whenever is enough for me"
Even after Jennifer explained all of that to me it still didn't help the slight guilt that I felt about what I was doing and not telling her I felt like I had to but at the same time, I was scared of how she would react. Would she see me as a slut? Or a creep? Think the only reason I'd been friends with her was because of hunter? I didn't want her to assume any of those things but if those thoughts ran around my head why wouldn't they do the same with her even if it sure as hell wasn't true the only safest option I felt I had at the moment was to keep lying to my best friend and hope it wouldn't catch up with me but I knew deep down sooner or later I'd have to tell her if I planned to have a future with hunter
"I guess you're right that is all that matters I still think it kind of sucks though but it's life eh," I said with a fake chuckle knots Tying in my stomach about sooner or later having to confront Jen with the true nature of her uncle and I relationship
"Hey guess what!"
"What's up?"
"The other day I was just feeling a little nostalgic cause of some old tv show that came on, on tv so I decided to just go looking through old stuff in a room we have for things we don't need anymore that we wanna keep for memories or some shit like that moms idea by the way I thought it was stupid at first but I guess not cause I started snooping around and you won't believe what I found" Jennifer got up from the bed and walked over to her closet and started going through a box that sat on the floor beside her shoes she pulled out a white and crop top next came a skirt it wasn't until she gave it a little fluff did I realize what it was and I wanted to laugh so hard yet at the same time cry
"No way you kept those girl!"
"I sure did!" She said looking at them proudly as if something good came out of it for her
It was our old cheer uniform from sophomore year I couldn't believe she kept it after all these years
Okay so here was the story
Jen wanted to try out for the cheer team cause back then she thought it'd get her to be respected and liked more by the students at school cause well back then who didn't love themselves a good ole cheer leader it ended up backfiring though cause, in the end, Jen was completely uncoordinated but even after learning that coach still kept Jen on the team because of her financial contributes never minding the facts that we were actually losing more competitions than basketball games I only joined the team with Jen to watch out for her I wasn't as bad as she was but she failed to see she was actually hurting the team rather than helping it and was too naive to know she was just being used for her financial benefits I mean like come on none of the girls had to pay for trips anymore or new uniforms hell we even rode fancy customized buses all at the request and manipulations of coach Sandra
I tried to let Jen know what was going on but she wasn't trying to hear none of it at the time which resulted in her saying that I was jealous of her and That she was a better cheerleader than I was that then led to us having a fallout and not speaking for 2 months straight by then I'd already quit the team not wanting to be involved with the advantage Jen was letting them take off her
It seemed though that Jen eyes finally opened when coach Sandra tried to manipulate Her into buying us the state championship trophy rather than actually earning it she came up with all this bull shit that if the team were to lose it'd be her fault cause she had all this money and resource but didn't help out when she knew she had the chance
Yeah you could say Jens's eyes were totally wide open by then thank god cause if they didn't open then there would absolutely be no point in getting her to see the light then
Thankfully Jen came to me and voiced out her concerns and expressed how sorry she was for what it was she said I let her know how sorry I was for lashing out on her when things didn't immediately go my way we talked strategy on how we would expose coach Sandra for her harassment and exploitation we'd gotten Jens parents involved and they ended up suing her for every penny that she was worth and more coach Sandra also had to pay back every cent shed made Jennifer spend and more whatever happened after that Jen and I didn't know but it must have been pretty bad since after that day coach Sandra was never to be seen or heard from again obviously shed gotten fired afterword about what she did got out but even then no one ever seen or heard from her
There were crazy rumors going around that shed gotten into some pretty huge debt that she couldn't pay and took off also rumors that she married rich and took off with her new husband even crazy ones that she'd been murdered plenty of rumors none of the witch that had ever been confirmed matter of the fact though was that nobody knew what happened to the woman
Most tea we ever got from the story which was confirmed was that she went away and left her 8 and 15-year-old daughters behind without a trace
After that, we don't really know anything else and never asked questions we didn't want the answers to sure I felt bad for the two girls but none of that was any of our business she must not have been a good mother anyway if she could just up and leave her daughters like she did Jens family did what they could once they found out about the girls and their predicament but they could only do so much
"Why did we keep those after all those years? gosh they should have been thrown away long time ago"
"Yeah I should've but I kind of just kept it to remind myself as a way to never be as gullible and as trusting as I was back then after a while I guess I just kind of forget about it when I didn't need it anymore" Jen explained with a shrug still staring at the uniform with a slight small smile on her face
"That's pretty smart" I commented "but why do you have mine though I'm pretty sure I threw it away
"You did but I picked it up in case in the future you would end up needing it for other activities to satisfy a fetish your future man might have," Jen said so casually too casual it would have made me believe she wasn't joking if she didn't start to laugh
"Okay girl you are seriously messed up for that give me those," I said not completely objecting to the idea with a smirk on my face
"Dirty bitch" jen said throwing my uniform towards me
I caught it waving the uniform in the air with my tongue stuck out causing Jennifer to burst into a fit of laughter
In the midst of Jen and I goofing off I began to hear my phone ring startling me
I moved towards the dresser and collected my phone I saw the caller id named as my brother dave so I swiped to answer
"Hey bro" I answered casually getting comfortable on my stomach
"Heaven you need to come home now," dave said frantically I shifted now alert at how dave sounded on the phone
"Dave? Is everything alright?" I asked now worried
"No time for questions girl just bring your ass home pronto," he said rushed I could hear distinctive yelling in the back my mom and what sounded to be another man but I could quite make out what they were saying
"What's going—" not letting me finish getting my word out the phone was shut on my face
"Hey is everything alright?" Jen asked worriedly
"I don't know but I have to go ill be back when I get a chance," I said hurriedly trying to get my things together
"Do you need a ride?" Jen asked
" n-no it's fine," I said remembering I still had my brothers truck

I reached the house in a span of 20 minutes cutting down to 10 minutes as my usual arrival time I parked the truck then got out quickly running towards the doorway of my house I used my key to unlock the door then slammed it shut letting everyone, anyone know I was here but I didn't hear anything though
The lights in the kitchen and living room were closed. It was as if nobody was here. What the hell was all that noise when Dave called me then?
Confused I made my way into my bedroom but stopped when I heard slight shuffling going on in the dining room
Thinking that was where everybody was I made my way towards that direction
I opened the door to find everyone there well my mom brother aunt and an unknown man
My mother sat there looking pissed and like she wanted to be anywhere but here my aunt looked like she was ready to fight while dave sat there quite just looking back and forth between the man then back at my mother and aunt
I'm so confused. What is this? Family reunion? Neighbors? I don't understand what the hell is going on ?!
"Good heaven you're finally here! Girl, what took you so damn long?" dave asked standing up looking so relieved to see me
"Wh–what's going on?" i asked still looking around confused
