Jimin took a deep breath. "Okay, my mother's name is Mi-jeong, my father's name is Pil-woo and I have a younger brother, his name is Ji-hyun." You smiled at him, encouraging him to go on.
"I have two favorite colors, black and blue." He closed one eye trying to remember the other questions you shot his way. "I don't have any pets personally. And it's hard to pick a favorite band, I listen to all kinds of different music. Having a wide taste in music is what gives me an edge when making my own. I do like art, even though I don't think I'm good at drawing. And as for drinks, I like Coke and many juices."
You smiled brightly as you absorbed all the new information. Questions from then on were casually brought up as they came to mind. You asked him some things and he asked you some in return. You learned he was top of his class when it came to Contemporary dance. He told you a little bit about Busan, his hometown. Jimin mentioned that they have great festivals there and that the two of you should visit one someday soon.
"I already told you about my mom and older brother. I didn't mention my father though. He's actually in jail, he's very mentally ill and violent. I try not to talk about him too much.." You trailed off, looking off in the distance past Jimin. He picked up your hands and held them. "I'm sorry. We can change the subject." Jimin offered a sweet smile.
Then an idea popped in your head, it might have been a long shot, but you wanted to ask anyway. "Are there any videos of you dancing? I really wish to see you dance." You were leaning towards him again, in anticipation. You were hoping he would say yes. Jimin giggled to himself. There were thousands of videos, but not that you knew that. "I'll see if I can find one." Jimin said and pulled up Youtube. He had to be cautious. He found the video from 'SBS Gayo 2016' and opened it to full screen so you couldn't see the title.
He held it out for you to watch and observed your face intently. You face lit up like a firework, your eyes sparkled as you watched him dance. You gasped at the flip he did effortless and covered your mouth at his perfect landing.
"Jimin!" You yelled, thoroughly shocked. "You dance so elegant and beautifully! It looks so fluid! You make it look so easy; dancing must be like breathing to you!" You were gushing over him. "The girls were screaming when you started dancing, you must have been the favorite. Was this some sort of competition?" You were curious, the crowd sounded like it was large. Jimin scratched his neck nervously. "Something like that." He said vaguely.
"I really hope I can see you dance someday Jimin, you dance truly marvelously." Jimin looked down at your hands that he was holding and rubbed the back of your hands with his thumbs. "There's better dancers than me." "Not that I saw." You disagreed with him immensely.
You leaned forward and placed a sweet kiss on his soft cheek. He smirked at your action. "You're really sweet." Jimin whispered. You shook your head and jostled his hands. "No, I'm speaking the truth. I've never seen someone dance that perfectly. I can easily see why you were the top of your class!" He gave you another shy smirk.
Jimin stood up and shoved his feet back into his boots. "It's getting late, I've got to be going." You almost pouted but stopped yourself. You didn't want him to go, honestly. Something about his company is soothing. Maybe it was his soft voice that was so calming, almost like ASMR. And his smile just threw all your worries out the window.
Jimin grabbed your hands again and pulled you up next to him. He tucked your hair behind both your ears and kissed you so softly, lovingly actually. You melted immediately. You smiled against his lips, and he then kissed the tip of your nose barely.
"I have to tell you something." He said out of nowhere. "Hm?" You were curious. His demeanor changed dramatically after your talk. "I've been kind of testing you." He looked down at his feet, feeling guilty. "I wanted to see if you liked me for me. Most girls I talk to throw themselves at me, the attraction is all physical, so I've built some walls. I'm usually the guy people are drawn to most but then forgotten almost immediately after someone better comes along." You swallowed deeply at his words.
"I had a feeling you were different, but I had to be sure. So, I tested you tonight, I wanted to see if you just wanted to just sleep with me and that be it. But then you wanted to get to know me. You reassure me, comfort me, and make me feel special. I really like that about you. I really like you." He finished the last sentence quietly, almost hard to hear. "You've been hurt a lot?" You whispered, it was more of a rhetorical question, a realization. He nodded slowly.
You wrapped your arms around his waist and rested your head against his chest. His heart was calmly beating. "I really liked getting to know you and I want to continue to." You squeezed him before letting him go. Jimin smiled softly at you, staring deep into your eyes. He seemed to be fighting some conflict inside himself. He had shared a secret but seemed to be hiding more. You wondered what all was going on in that head of his.
He leaned down slowly and planted another gentle kiss against your top lip. You kissed him back with the same softness. "I'll text you when I get home." He promised and headed for the front door. You followed him out. "Please be careful." He grabbed his sunglasses from the table and waved bye to you. And he was gone with the shutting of the door.
You sat down on your couch and stared at the wall, zoning out. Replaying the night in your head. You remembered how strongly he came onto you. He was testing you. If you hadn't stopped him from kissing you in your bedroom then it surely would have gone far, all the way. And after that he would have been done with you it seemed. You felt guilty about wanting to give in to him, but you're glad now that you didn't. You truly wanted to know more about Jimin, and you're glad you made the right choice.
Jimin seemed to have trust issues, but you could understand where he was coming from. He had been burnt too many times. It takes a while for a person to learn the difference between love and lust. Once you knew the difference, you are on the right track onto finding the right person for you.
Jimin was gorgeous and sexy, that was for sure, his muscular legs drove you crazy, but he was more than that. You knew that from the sweet moments he had shown you. Ultimately you were very glad you made the right choice. You decided from this moment forward that you would give Jimin a chance. You wanted to be exclusive to him, whether it was official or not. You wanted to see where this was going to go. He seemed worth it.
"I'm home, goodnight, sleep well." Jimin had informed you he was safe, you smiled at his consideration.
"Goodnight Jimin."
You crawled in bed, wanting to get some sleep but Anna seemed to be knocking on your door. "Come in." She entered. "Jimin left?" She asked looking around your room. You nodded. Anna sat on your bed. "You look like your mood is heavy, did something happen?" She knew you well.
You decided to tell her the truth. You told her about the test, and about how once you started asking him personal questions his attitude changed. He wasn't being seductive from then on, he was being sweet and open. You told her about the video of him dancing, you were dazzled constantly by this man.
"I'll have to see if I can find it and show you tomorrow." Anna had been anxious to see it herself. "Take your time with him, hon, he seems worth it." Anna gave you advice, but you didn't need it. You had decided the same thing. You nodded at her smiling and hugged her briefly. "Let's get some sleep." Anna left your room and you tried to get some sleep.
It was Friday now, you had only one class today, you were excited to get it over with. Anna wanted to have your double date this weekend, so you were needing to ask Jimin if he was up for it.
After classes were over, Anna texted you asking if you had asked Jimin yet. You hadn't. It made you nervous, you were starting to get to know him. You weren't sure how he'd feel about a double date. But at least Jimin had met Anna already, so that made things a little less awkward. You decided it wouldn't hurt to ask.
"Would you want to go on a double date? Anna is seeing this guy and brought up the idea. You can say no, it would be okay." You nervously twirled your hair in between your fingers while you waited. It was a nervous tick you had.
"If you're there, then yes." Jimin responded after a bit. You grinned at his response. You were glad he wasn't offended. He truly seemed like such a sweet guy.
"Would tomorrow be too soon?" You hoped it wasn't too soon. You texted Anna while you waited on the response, you told her he agreed.
"No, that's fine, I can make it work. Text me the details. :)"
