The Cullen Family and Their Witness Friends were all gathered in a large-snow covered field waiting for the Volturi to arrive… Bella Cullen and Edward Cullen stood next to a nervous Addison Cullen who was vigorously tapping her fingers against her thigh, her movements coming to a halt when Bella laced their fingers together… “Are you scared?”
Addison awkwardly chuckled at the question trying to avoid the concerned look Bella was sending her way, “would you think less of me if I was?” Bella quickly shook her head at the question, “of course not Addie, I’d never think any less of you”...
“Then to be honest, yeah… I am a little scared, I’d kinda feel better if Alice and Jasper were with me- And if Freddy wasn’t here with me-”, “yeah that’s never going to happen”, Fred suddenly interrupted from his place next to Addison making the girl roll her eyes before softly smiling at her vampire bestie, “how are you feeling Bells?”
“I’m uh good- a little more worried than anything” Bella replied making Addison nod opening her mouth to speak when Renesmee Cullen suddenly injected herself into the conversation, “we’ll be okay, just like you said before Auntie Addie, don’t be silly”, her voice was strong as she clung to her aunt’s legs making the small group smile at her young optimism.
“Yeah- Yeah you’re right dove, we’re gonna be okay”...

“The redcoats are coming, the redcoats are coming!” Garrett chanted as he bounced on the balls of his feet making Addison sigh with uneasiness, “Garrett I love you, I really do but please shut the hell up”...
Aro and his army became visible and it was very very clear that they outnumbered the Cullen’s and their witnesses, making Addison release a shaky breath pulling Renesmee closer with one hand while her other free hand grabbed Fred’s arm, his cold fingers wrapping around hers…
“Aro’s looking for Alice” Edward spoke never tearing his golden eyes away from Aro as his sister sarcastically chuckled “well then he can keep looking, she’s not here, I’m the only Cullen Twin on the battlefield today”...
As Aro and his army drew even closer the wolf-packs emerged from the woods to join the Cullens and their witnesses, Jacob and Leah in their wolf-forms moving to stand next to Bella, Edward, Renesmee, Addison, and Fred…

Aro and his army stood in a line across from the Cullen Family and their friends, Carlisle stepping forward to address the guards, “Aro let us discuss things as we used to, in a civilized manner”. Addison really couldn’t see the so-called redcoats ever being civilized and if they ever were, what had changed?
“Fair words, Carlisle, but a little out of place, given the battalion you’ve assembled against us”. Addison almost scoffed at his words, his army was ten times bigger and he wanted to talk about a battalion? “I can promise you, that was never my intent, no laws have been broken”.
“We see the child, do not treat us as fools” Caius’ voice was harsh making Carlisle hold back the urge to roll his eyes, “she is not an immortal” his voice was filled with authority as he glanced around the field looking at the members on both sides, “these witnesses can attest to that, or you can look, see the flush of human blood in her cheeks”.
“Artifice!” Aro held up his hand cutting off the blonde who huffed like a child, “I will collect every facet of the truth, but from someone more central to the story… Edward as the child clings to your lovely sister and newborn mate, I assume you are involved”. Aro spoke, slowly stepping forward with his hand outstretched...
Edward placed his hand on his daughters head gently stroking her hair as he glanced down at Bella and Addison who both stared at him with unsure glares before Addison slowly nodded, pulling her niece closer to her body…

“I’d like to meet her” Aro spoke in a gasp-like tone after he had finished reading Edward’s thoughts, and Edward slowly turned around making his wife sigh looking at her friend who sadly nodded…
“Ah, young Bella” Aro creepily added emphasis on Bella’s name, “immortality becomes you- oh and lovely Addison, I was so sad to see that Alice and Jasper weren’t here… What’s this the second time they’ve left you behind?” Addison clenched her jaw at his words holding back the urge to start a literal war as Emmett placed a firm hand on her shoulder, keeping her grounded and out of trouble.
Aro smiled before shrieking with laughter making Addison cringe along with Bella as he heard the thumping of Renesmee’s heart beating, “I hear her strange heart”... He once again held out his hand and Renesmee glanced over at her mother and then to Addison for some reassurance and Addison slowly nodded even though she didn’t fully or at all trust the man, and the little girl stepped forward… "Hello Aro" her voice was strong and polite.
Aro further outstretched his hand as an offering but Renesmee ignored it, placing her hand on his cheek instead and using her powers on him, and he became transfixed by what she had shown him, just like the witnesses had done before him…

“Magnifico!” Aro slowly straightened and Addison reached forward pulling her niece closer to her body and away from the redcoats with a dark glare. "Half mortal, half immortal, conceived and carried by this newborn while she was still human"...
“Impossible!” Caius shouted, making Aro turn around, “do you think they fooled me, brother?”
Bella and Edward slowly turned around guiding their daughter back towards the group of witnesses, as Jacob snarled and growled, “Jake!” Addison practically snarled grabbing the russet brown werewolf by the scruff of his neck making him huff as he was forcefully turned around, “you wanna get your shit together before you start a war buddy?”
“Bring the informer forward”. Irina was brought towards the front with Caius and Aro, Tanya and Kate’s golden eyes softening at the sight of their sister, “is that the child you saw?”
Caius pointed at Renesmee who backed closer into the comfort of her auntie who was getting really sick and tired of listening to everyone call Renesmee child instead of by her name…

Irina shook her head glancing down at the snow-covered ground, “I’m not sure” her voice shook as Caius looked over at Jane calling her name with venom… “She’s changed! This child is bigger”...
“Then your allegations were false”, Irina sadly nodded, “the Cullen’s are innocent, I take full responsibility for my mistake” Irina glanced over at Addison and Bella, “I’m sorry” her voice was a soft whisper making Addison’s golden eyes soften, “I’m sorry too”...
Addison saw the fire of a torch light her eyes widening as Edward moved forward shouting at the blonde, “Caius no!” and Addison quickly fell to her knees pulling her niece into her chest as Felix snapped Irina’s head off, her last words being a scream as the orange flames licked her body…
Tanya screamed as her sister burned, breaking into a run towards Aro and his army as everyone sprung into action, Garrett grabbing a hold of his mate who used her power making him groan and scream in pain but he never once let go…
Addison couldn’t manage to peel her eyes away from the sight of her cousin's burning body as she held her shaking niece close, “we’re okay, we’re going to be okay” and she was sure if the whispered words were reassurance for the eight-year-old or for herself as Jacob stood close…

“Blind them” Edward ordered Zafrina who almost instantly used her powers on the two Denali girls making them both pause their attack, “give me my sight back” Tanya ordered as Edward dropped his voice to a low whisper, “Tanya this is what they want, if you attack now, we’ll all die”.
Addison slowly stood back up on jelly-like legs as the blondes fell calm carefully lifting Renesmee on top of Jacob, her hands shaking from her nerves as her brother began to walk back towards his wife and daughter when he fell to the ground with a grunt of pain, “Edward-” Addison stopped herself from rushing forward when Jane glanced over her way, her fingernails dug half-moons into her palms keeping herself out of trouble, Bella had a new and improved shield, her brother would be okay…
Bella concentrated thinking of all the times Addison and Kate had helped her train, managing to bring up her shield that managed to cover the whole group as Edward stood back up to his feet, “it’s working”...
Jane grew less and less confident as her red eyes flicked to every witnesses her power worthless, as Bella grew more and more confident, a small smirk tugging at the corners of her lips making Jane grow angry, stepping forward when her twin stopped her…
His deadly mist began to seep from his palms only to be stopped by Aro making Addison let out a relieved puff of air through her nose…

“Aro, you can see there’s no law broken here”...
“Agreed but does it then follow that there is no danger, for the first time in our history humans pose a threat to our kind, their modern technology had given birth to weapons that could destroy us, maintaining our secret had never been more imperative”.
“In such perilous times, only the known is safe. Only the known is tolerable, and we know nothing of what this child will become, can we live with such uncertainty? Spare ourselves a fight today, only to die tomorrow”...
Aro suddenly let out an excited gasp as two figures emerged from the nearby woods, Edward furrowing his eyebrows as he glanced down at the eldest Cullen Twin, “Alice”...

A/n~ I have been trying to post this for two or maybe even three days but the internet's been really slow cons of living in WV...
Anyway, I think the way I've written this there should be three parts of the battle, this one, then the vision, and then the outcome, so beware of cliffhangers like this one...
Also random note but why didn't anyone shield Rensemee from Irina's death? I know she lives with literal vampires and is a hybrid but come on she's still only a child. Thank God for Auntie Addie.
