chapter thirty-one;
the one with the golden egg
THERE STOOD Aven with the golden egg. Everyone in the common room cheered for her as the twins picked her up. The Marauders laughed at the sight. Aven threw the golden egg to Sirius so it didn't fall.
"Yes Aven!" Gideon exclaimed
"I knew you wouldn't die.Lose a leg" Fabian said
"Or an arm" Gideon added
"Pack it in altogether?"
"Never" The two of them said in sync
"Go on Aven what's the clue?" Regulus asked as Sirius gave Aven the golden egg
"Who wants me to open it?" Aven asked
"Yes" They all yelled
"Do you want me to open it?" Aven asked again
"YES!" They all cheered
Aven twist open the top and the golden egg let out a shrieking noise causing Fabian and Gideon to put her down as everyone covered their ear. Aven quickly closed the egg touching her own ear.
"Well i guess you won't know the clue then" Aven rubbed her ear
Considering it was already 10 pm, the students decided to go to bed. Well except for the group.
"I still don't understand how you didn't get killed" Emillio looked at his sister
"Bitch do you want me to get killed?" Aven asked pretending that she's offended
"Oh shove off" Emillio flicked her head
"Are you serious?" Aven touched her head
"No i'm Sirius" Sirius chimed in and Aven playfully roll her eyes

"Hey Aven" Four third graders greeted
"Hello" Aven smiled and the four boys blushed before walking away
"Merlin Padfoot don't hurt the pancake" Peter told Sirius who's holding onto his fork so tightly
"Shut up Pete" Sirius whined
"Padfoot look" Aven nodded and there they saw Alice and Frank laughing together
"Shite they're actually getting along" Sirius laughed
"We are an amazing matchmaker" Aven said proudly
"Yeah amazing matchmaker but kept denying their own match" Remus muttered
"What's that Remmy?" Sirius questioned the boy
"Nothing" Remus smiled innocently as Peter and James tried not to laugh
"Okay anyways" Aven looked at the three suspiciously
"Hey did you get to open the egg?" James asked
"No but i have an idea to open it" Aben answered
"What is it?" Sirius questioned her
"Water" Aven replied
"Just water?" James asked confusingly
"Yeah it makes sense,water can prevent sounds" Aven shrugged
"Fair enough" Peter nodded
"Did you hear about the ball?" Remus asked his friends
"What ball?"
"I don't know there's a rumor that there's going to be a ball" Remus shrugged
"I reckon it's just a rumor"

"Everybody sit girls you sit here and boys sit there" McGonagall instructed
As Aven were about to sit next to Sofia,someone grabbed her wrist.
"But Minnie we want to sit with Aven" Sirius whined
"Merlin Pads it's not the end of the world" Aven laughed
"But it is for Padfoot" James muttered covering it with a cough
"Come on V sit with us" Sirius pleaded
"No" Aven replied and McGonagall laughed looking at the boy who frozed
"I'll sit with you later Pads" Aven smiled dragging him to sit next to James before walking away sitting next to Sofia
"The Yule Ball,has been a tradition of the Triwizard Tournament since its inception" McGonagall informed
"On Christmas eve night,we and our guests will gather in the great hall for a night of well mannered frivolity"
"As representatives of the host school i expect each and every one of you to put your best foot forward. And i mean this literally, because the Yule Ball is first and foremost....a dance" As soon as the word dance came out of the Professor's mouth everyone started chattering
"Silence!"
"The house of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the respect of the wizard world for nearly 10 centuries. I will not have you in the course of a single evening, besmirching that name by behaving like a babbling bumbling band of baboons"
"Try saying that ten times faster" Fabian told Gideon
The two said the word ten times faster not knowing that everyone were listening and laughing
"Now to dance, is to let your body breath"
"Inside every human no matter what their gender is, a secret swan slumbers and a lordly lion prepared to prance"
"Lily is going to look so beautiful" James daydreamed
"Mr.Potter?"
"Yes?"
"Will you join me please?" McGonagall asked
"Come on Prongs don't disobey your mother" Peter teased
"Yeah come on James" Remus chuckled
"I hate you all"
"No you don't" Sirius smirked as James walked towards the Professor
"Now place your right hand on my waist"
"Do i have to do this" James whined like a baby
"I'll give you a biscuit if you do" McGonagall replied knowingly
"And i'm doing it" James quickly respond
"Mr.Filch if you please" Filch played the song
"One, two, three, one, two, three" The professor counts as the two of them danced
"Now everybody come together" Everyone stood up picking their partners
Sirius walked to Aven who's still sitting
"Would you like to dance Miss Cross" Sirius offered his hand
"I think i would" Aven replied laughing
The two of them danced and they saw that Alice and Frank were still sitting. They looked at each other before nodding and walked away.
"Frank how are you?" Sirius asked the boy
"Wel-"
"Great that's amazing lets dance" Sirius cut him off dragging him to stand up
"Alice let's dance" Aven dragged Alice
Aven and Sirius pretended to bumped each other
"Ah Sirius didn't see you there" Aven smiled
"Aven there you are, would you like to dance?" Sirius asked
"Yes i would love that"
"Oh but i told Alice that i'd dance with her" Aven frowned
"I told Frank that i'd dance with him too"
"Well then i guess you two need to dance together" Aven points at Frank and Alice who glared at her and Sirius
"That's a good idea, right Frank?"
"Right, well have fun you two" Sirius and and Aven walked away
"They're never going to stop are they" Frank chuckled
"Yeah" Alice laughed
"Would you uh,would you want to dance?" Frank asked the girl
"I would love to" Alice blushed
The two of them danced together Alice would laugh once in a while because of the jokes that Frank told her.
"We're the best!" Sirius exclaimed
"We really are" Aven agreed dancing with Sirius
The two of them danced in silence feeling the connection between them. They felt like as if they were in a movie. Just the two of them dancing with the world watching. The two were the last one to stop dancing which caused everyone to look at them. The Marauders, the girls, Frank, and Emillio could only smirk knowing that the two of them are lost in their of thoughts.
"Excellent foot work you two,you both danced flawlessly!" McGonagall exclaimed making the two startled in shock
"Thankyou Minnie" The two of them blushed noticing that they were the last one to stop dancing
After McGonagall told them to leave the room, Aven and Sirius walked together holding hands. It's not unusual for them to hold hands so they didn't care.
"Oi" Frank called stopping the two
"You both need to stop setting me up with Alice" Frank said, though his heart told him otherwise
"Hmm" Aven and Sirius looked at each other
"Yeah no" They shrugged running away still hand in hand
