If I thought Julia was nosey I hate to say it but so was Mia. I couldn't properly hide anything, always getting caught in making preparations during the rest of our break. When I finally got back to my office I was going to make a reservation for this nice restaurant that she liked. But it seemed everything was all booked against my wishes.

It wasn't until a week later when work started up again that I'd seen some availability. But it was weeks, maybe a month from now and I wasn't one for waiting, "Could you just hand the phone to the owner."

"Mrs. Write, Davidson isn't here right now but I could take a message for you."

"Drop the mrs and tell that man to call me when he gets there," I hung up the phone, already irritated at nine in the morning. I had this major pounding in my head and I haven't even been drinking, making me even more furious.

I turn in my chair, opting to look out the window instead of my bright ass computer screen watching many of my workers coming into the building. I hear my door open and I groan not feeling like taking on any requests to sign this or that. You know it always seems like people come when you least want them to.

"Could I not be bothered right now? In fact , go to Saura instead."

I take my glasses off my head, putting them back on the brim of my nose. I hear crackling noise and turn around seeing Mia place a bag with a container inside it onto my desk. She catches me staring standing upright again, "Sophia said you were in a mood but I thought that just meant you were hungry. I tried being quiet but you know how bad that goes especially with styrofoam and plastic."

"I don't mind if you come in and actually stay, it'll ease my mind."

"Only for a bit since my coworker bully isn't here yet. Don't want her to think i'm 'slacking'"

"Huh?"

"You know, like Saura, when she didn't like you. I just find it hilarious, especially since I'm not afraid to threaten her job with you."

"You'll tell me if it's getting out of hand right?"

"Actually, I would have to go to HR about this," I am HR but fine let her do what she wishes.

"I actually have a question to ask since a few things came up,"

"I'm all ears"

"What restaurants do you like other than Dci Vu. Like somewhere special that we went together to."

"You don't know yourself? What about where you took me first?"

I could feel the crease between my brows as I tried to think about an answer. I've taken her to many restaurants since I couldn't impress her with cooking so how was I supposed to remember which one?, "I'm sorry honey could you just refresh my memory please," By the look on her face I knew I just fucked up.

"It was the first place you took me to and I even tricked you into driving," I can't believe how blank my mind is right now.

"Seriously?," She stands up then and I do too hearing the hurt in her voice.

"Wait i- um Mia"

She holds her hand up moving slowly over to me, "Mh mh no you stay here and think about that. Cause I sure as hell remember. And don't you dare think of asking Sophia for help."

"I didn't want to make you mad honey," She leans over kissing my cheek with her own breakfast in hand now.

"I'm not mad, more sad really and while I understand people forget that place was like the start of everything for me. I'll see you later and bring you something for lunch, love you."

"I love you too,"

"Don't be sad, it's fine but I bet you're gonna slap your head when you do recall it."

Watching her leave I wait a moment before jotting down the question onto a ripped piece of paper and leaving my office to find my new assistant. He really isn't anything like Mia but she set my expectations too high otherwise I'd think he was good, "Finn I need you to go down the floor and hand this to Sophia and bring it back to me."

"Didn't Mia say not to ask her? I didn't know I'd have more common sense than my boss."

"Ok smart alek this is why i keep my door closed especially with your hearing. And I'm not asking her myself, you are."

"Ma'am it's out of my paygrade to have Mia on my bad side. You do know when the nice ones get mad it's way worse right?"

"Will you just go? I'll give you a paid two hour break."

"Make it that for this whole week and you got yourself a deal."

I roll my eyes shaking his hand and after he gets straight to leaving hoping he wouldn't get caught but there's no chance of that happening.
