Ever since the Grand Magic Games, your boyfriend Rufus has been having, what you call, a dramatic fashion crisis.
He calls it an identity crisis.
Why he was acting this way is pretty stupid. You don't even understand why he's like this.
Rufus had heard several people commenting about how he and Freed from Fairy Tail look similar. You could see it, but just because they had similar tastes didn't mean it was a bad thing.
Because your boyfriend has been acting up, you decided to hang around Orga or Yukino for a sense of normality.
"(First Name)! I need you to come with me right now. It's important!"
Of course, you couldn't distance yourself from him at home.
Setting your book down, you saw Rufus standing there with a serious expression.
"What is it, hun?"
"You're going to help me get a new wardrobe. Today is the day I am going to change my look!"
"Rufus, you shouldn't care what others say about your appearance."
"I care! Now come on. I need your opinion."
Sighing heavily, you got up and left for the shopping district with your boyfriend.

Flipping through a magazine, Rufus grabbed many clothes to try on.
You personally thought Rufus was perfect the way he was, but the guy was really on edge about looking similar to Freed.
Casually, you'd look up and give the disapproval of the different styles he tried on. If anything, only Sting could pull off open shirts, not that you didn't mind seeing your boyfriend with his chest exposed.
Hours on end went into the bin just shaking your head in disapproval.
"Okay, how about this one?"
You looked up and groaned.
Rufus was wearing a floral shirt.
"Put that back where you found it. Let's just go get food. I'm hungry."
He sighed and went to change back into his regular clothes before catching up with you.
"Was it that bad?"
"Nothing here suits you. It's a turn off to even see you doing this."
Rufus became silent as you both found a place to eat.

After eating in silence, you slammed your spoon down in irritation.
"(F-First Name)?"
You looked at your boyfriend.
"Why are you so quiet?! You're always talking, then your complaining about looking like Freed, and now you're quiet!"
Rufus blinked several times.
"Well, you said that I was turning you off...and I'm afraid that being similar to Freed will make you leave me for him."
You held your head and sighed.
"Why would I leave a handsome guy like you for a fanboy?"
"Excuse me?"
"I fell in love with you and only you. Just because you and Freed look similar doesn't mean shit. You're fine with the way you look now. Stop trying to change yourself when you're perfect the way you are."
Rufus gave a soft smile and held your other hand.
"I'm glad to have a strong woman like you in my life."
"I did come from Fairy Tail before moving to Sabertooth."
"Wait, what?"
"Did you forget? And here I thought you remembered everything."
"Then you had a thing for Freed!"
You twitched.
"Like hell I would! He's too gay for Laxus anyways."
Rufus blinked before laughing.
"Then I'm a lucky man Freed is the way he is. Otherwise, I wouldn't have you."
"Even if he was straight, the guy has too many rules."
Finishing your lunch, the two of you walked around town.

"Are you two okay now?"
You were drinking with Orga.
"Yeah, but he still asks me every morning if he looks good. I feel like the roles are reversed."
"They pretty much are."
Rufus was out of town at the moment for a job, so you decided to wait for him.
He had toned down his sudden change, but it still showed that he was bothered by it. The fact that he was still bothered by it bothered you!
"(First Name)! Rufus is back with a friend!"
You raised a brow and turned your head mid-drink before spitting it out on Orga.
Rufus stood there with Freed.
"Alright, now who is better looking?"
Twitching, you couldn't believe your boyfriend brought Freed here just for this.
"The hell do you think you're doing?!"
"This is just reassurance that you're not attracted to this man!"
Freed sighed.
"I'm irritated by this as well, (Last Name)."
"I told you, Rufus. I love you. Freed...he looks like someone stuck a stick up his ass and left it there except he pretty much takes it out and begs Laxus to put it back in when he's around."
Freed glared at you.
"The hell are you saying?!"
Orga roared in laughter as you and Freed started to argue on how unattractive you both seem to one another.
"Your girlfriend sure has a temper."
Rufus looked over to see a grinning Sting.
"I do. Just seeing this is enough for me. My doubts are gone...but I do need to get new clothes."
"You look fine, Rufus!"
"Unlike you, you immature brat!"
"What did you say to me, Sonic the Hedgehog?!"
"What the hell is that?! Did you make that up, moron?!"
"Shut up and go crawling back to your stupid brute!"
"Laxus is no brute!"
Rufus chuckled.
"I shall remember this for the rest of my life."
He continued to watch as you argued with your former guild mate.
You glared at Freed, but noticed how calming your boyfriend was. It seemed that he was fully over his dilemma.
Deep inside, you were happy that it was over with, but seriously seeing Freed here only brought back previous arguments the two of you had seven years ago.
"Okay Freed. You can go home. I think I've seen enough."
Freed groaned and left without a word.
A small kiss was placed your temple, calming you down.
Rufus held you his arms.
"I love you."
Sighing, you leaned into him.
"I love you too, you dork. Next time you have a fashion crisis, don't go through this Freed this again. I'd rather not see that prick."
Rufus smiled and kissed you lovingly.
