4 months later

I was sitting in my room in the Malfoys manor getting undressed from a mission that I had just come back from, my back was hurting and I was extremely tired.

I just wanted to sleep, the bags under my eyes were darkening and my eyes had become dull, no longer the bright colors that Hermione loved.

Slipping on a black shirt and jeans I stretch ready to take a nap, but the sound of the door slamming open with the sounds of someone struggling against someone else stops me from falling asleep.

The sounds of multiple voices not bothering to be hushed.

I grab my wand and hurry out of my room, but I'm stopped by Draco.

"What are you doing?" I asked him as he dragged me back into my room.

"You do not want to go down there," He says calmly, not giving me any context.

"Why?"

"You just don't," He says.

"You have to give me a reason, I don't have to stay here," I growled.

"I don't have to do anything," He was cut off by the door behind him opening with Narcissa Draco's mother standing there, a frightened but stonewalled expression on her face as she peeked her head into the room.

"Draco we need you downstairs," she said solemnly.

"Alright," He said, his mother left back down the way she came and he turned back to me yet again his grey eyes full of fear and regret.

"Draco...what are you not telling me...?" I ask him, my voice shaking from the feeling of the unknown.

"Stay here...I have to go," He says, leaving me alone.

Despite what he told me I decided to follow him once I was sure he had left and was far away enough.

My feet padded softly on the mahogany floors, the cold of the manor causing me to shiver the cold increased with the confusion and uncertainty that I felt as I made my way to where I believed Draco went.

I paused outside of the main hall, my back up against the wall as I listened to the conversation inside the room.

"Is that him?" His father was saying.

I had no idea who he was talking about...

"I-I'm not sure if it's him," I hear Draco say to his father talking about whoever they were...But then it hit me: Him the only him would be Harry Potter.

That would mean that Hermione is in there, she had to be, I knew she was with him, there were reports of three in the group Harry Potter was in.

Ronald Weasley.

Harry Potter.

And Hermione Granger.

I wanted so badly to go in there and embrace her, but I knew that was impossible, not only would I get killed but so would Draco and his family as well as my father...and Hermione...she would as well.

"Then go get Y/N, she's much smarter than you anyways I'm sure she isn't dimwitted enough to not recognize Harry Potter," Lucius sighs.

"Oh, c'mon why can't we just bloody hand them over!" I hear Bellatrix screech impatiently.

"Don't be stupid Bellatrix, if we call him here and this is not Harry Potter-we are dead, all of us no matter what we are dead," Lucius says heatedly steadily growing irritated.

"Draco, go get Y/N to please my dear," I hear Narcissa say to Draco.

"Yes Mother," I hear his footsteps pad towards me with the click of his heel as he turns the corner.

Quickly I apparate, the darkness consuming me and taking me to my room, I end up on my bed my wand in hand twirling absentmindedly as I waited for Draco to reach the top of the stairs and make his way down the hall to the room I stay in.

The door opens and an eerily calm Draco stands there hands in his pockets looking at me, his stony gray eyes rough but frightened.

"Come on," He says to me before turning back around expecting me to follow him behind.

"Where are we going?" I ask.

"Oh don't be bloody stupid, I know you came downstairs I'm not dumb, I know you did, I know you way too well to think you would stay up here," He growled through his teeth.

"Draco why didn't you say-"

"Say what?" He says stopping abruptly.

"Say that it was Potter?" I asked.

"...because it isn't...I don't think it is..." he says through his mouth, but his eyes tell me a different story.

"You're lying," I said, astonished.

"No I'm not, bloody hell we need to get down there before they murder us for taking too damn long," He said stomping away.

Reluctantly I followed him composing myself.

We entered the room together, there were a lot more people than I had originally expected, there were bounty hunters each grasping onto a teenager.

There was Narcissa, Bellatrix and Lucius.

Then there was Harry Potter.

On his knees Bellatrix holding a knife to his throat.

"My dear Y/N, please come here," Lucius says smiling at me, his hand beckoning me towards him.

I nodded and walked over to where he was standing.

Hermione was in my line of sight just behind Bellatrix, the man holding her rather tightly as she was silently watching me and every move that I made.

It was the first time in four months that I had seen her, and she was at her worst, her eyes were darker, and there was dirt smeared on her cheeks with tear tracks cleaning through them.

Her face was hard, cold even as it watched me.

"Is this...Harry Potter?" He asks pointing at the mess of a teenager in front of me.

His face was extremely boiled up to the point that it almost made me think twice of whether it was truly Harry Potter-but only if I hadn't seen Ron and Hermione.

I knew it was Harry Potter, even with his face all blown up I could make out the line of a lightning bolt scar on his forehead.

"No. I do not believe that is Harry Potter, I believe that these idiots of Bounty Hunters made a mistake and decided to waste our time like the last time," I growled cruelly as I backed away from Harry Potter.

"This sword, where did you get this! This was in my vault!" I hear Bellatrix screech at one of the bounty hunters, in an instant, a flurry of action erupted, the woman flicked her wand, and immediately the men were fighting for their lives.

Ron and Harry are thrown to the side and immediately they are grabbed onto by other death eaters who hold them fast as Bellatrix shoots bolts of energy toward the bounty hunters.

They of course fought back.

I cast a shielding spell as I was used to the death eaters in general freaking out over the smallest of absurdities.

Bellatrix especially.

Within a matter of minutes, the bounty hunters were dead on the floor, Bellatrix stepping over their bodies giggling as she picked up the sword from the tallest bounty hunter.

"Where...did you get this sword...when did you go into my vault? This was in my vault!" Bellatrix screamed at the three teenagers, her eyes dangerously observing each one of them.

None of them said a thing, not a single thing instead their eyes were locked on a spot on the ground and their mouths were shut.

"Oh...not going to talk?"

Bellatrix said this so sickly sweet that I was amazed she wasn't genuinely nice.

"Take the boys to the dungeon, I want some...girl time with this lady here..." Bellatrix says pulling out her dagger and tracing it along the side of Hermione's face.

A pit deep inside my stomach was filling with dread as I felt that something bad was going to be happening soon and I wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

The boys were dragged away from the main room Ron protested his eyes watching mine as they were both dragged down to the dungeons.

Hermione was pushed onto the ground by Bellatrix.

"Now...where did you get the sword?" She asks.

"I don't know," Hermione answered.

"You're lying," Bellatrix hisses, she withdrew her wand and pointed it at Hermione.

"CRUCIO!" She screamed.

I clenched my fists, shut my eyes, and gritted my teeth as I listened to her screams of pain and horror, I couldn't even begin to imagine the pain she was going through right now.

That's the thing about the crucio curse, it was unique for everyone; not only did it target physical pain specifically for you it also targeted the emotional pain built up inside foreign and familiar.

Suddenly her screams stop and I struggle to open my eyes.

Bellatrix was looking at me.

An eyebrow was raised as she observed me.

It's as if she made the immediate connection between Hermione and me and was going to take that to her advantage.

"Y/N my dear...come here please," She said smiling.

I knew I had no choice but to go to her.

"You know her, yes?" She asks me.

"I met her last year..." I say lying through my teeth.

"Ah-ha... did you now," Bellatrix smiled gruesomely, then she turned her head back to Hermione. "Tell me where you got the sword from or I will do something that I will regret-well not me exactly but this precious girl right here."

She said, placing her hand on my shoulder.

"I...I already said I don't know where we got the sword," Hermione said crying.

"Alright...you forced me," Her eyes turned to me with a sadistic glint within them. "Imperio!"

My body began to move on its own, as much as I tried to restrain it I couldn't. It was moving and soon enough I was straddling Hermione, reaching for the dagger Bellatrix was handing to me.

And I began to carve.

Tears started falling down my face as my body kept moving, my hand carving something on my arm of Hermione.

Her cries killed me.

Bellatrix was making me go slow, I couldn't hurry up or stop.

I hated myself more than anything.

I knew once the first letter was done exactly what word I was carving into the beautiful skin of Hermione.

After what had seemed like forever I had finished carving the last letter blood staining the ground as well as my hands.

When I was released from the trance I collapsed onto Hermione's torso my sobs racking through my body.

I closed my eyes so that I didn't have to see that awful word etched into her beautiful skin.

"Mudblood...such a lovely job there Y/N," Bellatrix said giggling.

The sound of her body being thrown across the room makes me jerk and look at Bellatrix, she was on the ground already struggling to stand up and pull out her wand.

I look over and I see Ron and Harry standing there: they began to make their way towards where Hermione and I were but were stopped by blinding flashes of energy from death eaters nearby.

I feel someone trying to pull me off of Hermione.

"No! No!" I say crying. "No!"

I look to see Draco pulling me away, my body was weak from being under the imperius curse so I couldn't exactly fight him off as much as I tried to.

As he dragged me away I watched Hermione, as weak as she was- her eyes met mine while a weak hand struggled to reach out to me.
I try to grab my wand to blast Draco off of me but something hits me hard in the head and everything goes black.
