chapter seven;
the one with the letter
FOURTH YEAR started and the as of right now, the Marauders were waiting for Aven to come down from her dorm. She has never been the type to be late for breakfast, so this was a little bit unusual for them.
"Hey why are you guys doing here? And where's our favorite girl?" Gideon Prewet asked
During the whole three years of attending Hogwarts, the group has grown close with the twins, they would set up pranks together. Whenever they're together, you know shit are about to go down.
"We don't know" Sirius replied with concern on his voice
"You don't know where she is?" Fabian furrowed his eyebrows, obviously confused
"No, we know" James said before pausing
"We know where she is" Remus completed James' answer
"We just don't know why she's late for breakfast" Peter shrugged, his leg bouncing up and down
"Okay well if you see her" Fabian started
"Tell her that we have new products that we think she'll like" Gideon continued
"Well than bye boys" They bid their goodbye in unison and walked away
The four of them sat in the common room, their legs bouncing up and down because of how anxious they are.
"Okay we need to get her" Sirius stood up and ran his hand through his hair
"Yeah okay let's go" Remus replied but just as the four of them were about to go to Aven's dorm, Aven came downstairs with a smile that is obviously fake.
She can fool anyone with that smile, but she can't fool the them or Lily, Dorcas, Alice, Sofia, and Marlene.
"Hey boys ready to have breakfast" Aven said with a smirk on her face
"Star are you okay?" Peter asked
"Yeah Wormmy, i'm good" Aven nodded with a huge smile on her face
"Are you sure?" Sirius asked walking closer to her
"Yes Pads, i'm sure" Aven replied pushing his face with her hands and Sirius just huffed
"Stupid question, but why are you late?" James asked
"Yeah, you're never late when it comes to food" Remus continued
"Jeez what is this? Getting interrogated by Sherlock Holmes or something" Aven raised her eyebrow and the boys just looked at each other with a confused look
"Holy shit you guys don't know Sherlock" Aven gasped
"Well then, if you must know i was writing a letter for my family" Aven explained but when she reached the word family, the lump on her throat came back, she she felt like she needed to scream.
"Oh well okay then" Peter shrugged
"Well that's a relief" Sirius added
"Well come on, i'm hungry and we have quidditch practice today so i need food" Aven pulled them with her hand and they all walked to the great hall.

"As you all know we're going against Slytherin, we need to win this time so do your best alright?" John Bell the captain of the quidditch team asked
"We're gonna win Bell!" Sirius exclaimed
"Hell yeah we are" James agreed
"Let's make minnie proud boys" Aven smirked, the seeker and the beater smirked back
"Well then let's practice" John Bell continued
They all walked to the field and Sirius put his arms around Aven's shoulder. Aven is a chaser of the Gryffindor quidditch team, she has always been a very talented chaser.
"You gonna make us win again Star?" Sirius smirked looking down
"You know i will Pads" Aven replied cockily
The Gryffindor team practiced untill it was an hour before dinner. They all took a shower and went straight into the great hall.
"Hey ave, isn't that your owl?" Sofia questioned
"Why is he here at this time?" Dorcas asked confusion filling her face
"Probably just my siblings" Aven replied
Aven thanked Beu, her owl, before she opened the envelope. She read the letter, and she couldn't believe her eyes. Everything became muffled, she felt dizzy.
She knows that the her friends were all looking at her. She couldn't move, she was having a hard time breathing. She shut her eyes close before opening it again. She put the letter back into the envelope before putting it aside.
"What is it Star?" Remus, who was sitting in front of her asked
"Yeah. what is it Ave?" Lily furrowed her eyebrows
"You look like you just saw someone getting murdered" Marlene pointed causing Sofia to glare at her before Marlene muttered a quick sorry
"Marls" Alice glanced at Marlene before she smiled looking at Aven
"Anyways, back to the question, what is it Ave?" Dorcas repeated
"It's nothing, it's just my sister telling me that she's moving out" Aven answered with a scoff
"Well good for her then" James said before eating a roasted chicken
"Yeah, good for her" Aven agreed before playing with her food
"Why are you playing with your food Star?" Sirius who was next to her asked as he touched her hands to stop her
"I ate a sandwich before dinner while i waited for you and James so i'm not hungry" Aven explained, she's obviously lying
"What kind of sandwich was it Star?" Peter asked, the both of them like to talk about food, so Aven knew that they all believed her
"It was a chicken sandwich and it was really good Wormmy" Aven replied with a smile and Peter just smiled back at her
"Well then, i'm gonna go back to the common room" Aven told the group before standing up trying to walk away but she was stopped by Sirius softly grabbing her wrist.
It doesn't take a genius to see that Sirius really cares about Aven, everyone knows it, even Mcgonagall herself like to tease Sirius about it.
"Why are you going back early?" Sirius pouted
"Aww is the Sirius Black gonna miss me" Aven snickered
"You know i will, Cross" Sirius winked and their friends looked at each other smirking
"Oh i'm sorry princess, but this queen needs her alone time" Aven scrunched her nose and Sirius stood up before bowing down
"Well then my queen i am sorry for the inconvenience, i hope you have a great alone time" Sirius said causing the whole Gryffindor table and some people from other houses to look at him and Aven
They laughed in amusement and even Mcgonagall and Dumbledore chuckled
"GO GET HER BLACK" Emillio yelled with a thumbs up and a huge smile on his face
"SURE I WILL CROSS" Sirius yelled back and practically the whole school's attention are on them now. Aven just rolled her eyes laughing at her best friend's and brother's behaviour.
"You always seem to have an idea to have people's attention don't you pads?" Aven asked smiling
"Always will Star" Sirius said before ruffling Aven's hair. Aven shook her head before waling away with a huge smile on her face.
