It wasn't much that started the spark in Ryan's chest. He couldn't decipher right away if it was the start of a crush or just his anxiety. In reality, it was probably both. He sat in his backyard listening to Chad talk, seeing him barely through the mostly set sun. He spoke with his hands a lot, this wasn't something Ryan had ever noticed in class, maybe because his hands were always gripped around a basketball.
Ryan couldn't help the smile that spread across his face, regardless of what this was, it was nice. No one had walked out here with him before, much less someone quite like Chad Danforth. He won't admit that he has a crush on the jock, how cliche would that be? No, not a crush, just a little bit smitten.
