"I'm sorry! Work just ran over today!" I yelled as he walked up to me
Me and my boyfriend of 2 years, Joel had an amazing relationship. He treated me like a queen and I loved him more and more everyday. Until a few weeks ago he started to act up, more scary shall we say. We have been living together for a year now because let's face it rents not cheap.
"Your always at that stupid little job of yours!" Joel yells as he grabs my hand and pulls me into the living room
"Joel" I pleaded, genuinely scared for my safety
"You know people like you get what's coming to them!" Joel yells as I felt his hand slap against my face
The rest of the night went by in a daze. He started on my face, making it back and blue however he possibly could. He then moved onto my lower body, giving me bruises all up my arms and leavening me on the floor to rot. It was the next morning and I had gotten up after spending a sleepless night on the floor.
"Come on, Pull yourself together" I said to myself as I slipped on my white coat
I'am the head of the ED at Lakeside hospital which is in LA. I touched up the last of my makeup making sure to hide everything that people would question. I then headed out.
"Good morning Dr. Ruzek!" The nurse adds as I walk in
Oh yeah did I not mention, Adam Ruzek is my brother. I moved to LA when I was 19 and 6 years later I'm still here.
"You can take trauma room 3!" The nurse orders as I put on my rubber gloves
When I walk into the room I see a swat officer sitting, she's beautiful and I simply smile at her
"Officer Alonso?" I ask as I read her chart
"Call me Chris" Chris replies as I smile
"Okay Chris and what brings you in?" I ask as I look at her
"I just need stitches on my arm, my boss insisted that I came in" Chris adds as she shows the nasty cut on her arm
"That looks pretty deep" I add as I touch her arm
I sit down on a seat across from her and grab the stitches
"I didn't quite catch your name" Chris adds as I start to clean her wound
"Ruzek, Y/N Ruzek" I reply as I start to preform the stitches
"Well thank you for fixing me up Dr.Ruzek" Chris adds as my sleeve rolls up showing some of the bruises
"And you all done Chris" I add as I notice my sleeve and calmly roll it back down
"If you don't mind me-" Chris adds before a nurse runs in
"Doctor, your needed in trauma room 6!" The nurse yells
I then shoot Chris a sympathetic look before running out.
*Chris's POV*
She was definitely one of a kind, and so were those bruises. They were fresh and looked a little repetitive. Something wasn't right and I needed to get to the bottom of it. I gathered my things together and walked out of my cubicle and stood with my eyes perfectly on Y/N
"Push another round of epi!" She yelled whilst doing chest compressions on an unconscious male
I then smiled at how tough she was before heading out. I arrived back at HQ to see Hondo and Deacon waiting for me
"So how'd it go?" Hondo asked, standing with his arms folded
"It went fine, all I needed was a few stitches" I replied
"Great" Deacon adds before they go to leave
"Uh actually!" I said, louder
"What's up Chris?" Deacon asks, as both him and Hondo turn round
"The head of the ED at Lakeside, you know her?" I asked
"Ruzek?" Hondo asks as deacons face lights up
"Adams sister" Deacon adds
"Adam?" I ask
"We worked a case in Chicago last year, with the CPD intelligence unit, Y/N is Adams sister" Deacon explains
"She had bruises up her arms, they didn't look like one time things. Can I pull a file on her? Just to be safe?" I ask, shooting them both puppy dog eyes
"Fine, but quickly" Hondo adds as he sighs
"Thank you!" I ask before hugging them both and running off
*Y/N's POV*
After a long, and I mean very long shift. I packed up my things and walked out
"Y/N!" Chris yelled as she jumps off the bench
"Chris? Right?" I replied as I stopped in front of her
"You know he's been to jail right? For drug dealing?" Chris explains
"What? Who are we talking about here?" I asked, knowing who it was
"Joel! He done 8 years Y/N! He only got out on probation! He's violated so many probation rules! I can arrest him! And he'll go away for life! Leave you alone!" Chris adds
"Why would he need to leave me alone?" I ask
"I've seen the bruises, someone is doing them to you. And an ex con fits that description" Chris explains softly
"Chris, you met me 4 hours ago! I can assure you I'm fine" I add as I start to walk away
"Is that what your brother will think when he sees your arms?" Chris yells as I stop
"You called my brother?!" I ask as I turn around to face her
"He's on a plane over here as we speak" Chris adds
"Thanks Chris, thanks a lot" I said sarcastically
"I'm only doing this to help you!" Chris says as she grabs my hand
"I don't need your help!" I said as I shoved her hand away
"Thats assault of an officer, I'm taking you in" Chris explains
Turns out that was all a part of her master plan....
