nini stirred in her sleep at the sunlight peeking past the curtains and into the room, opening her eyes slowly as she felt something on her stomach.
she looked down and smiled to herself when seeing ricky's head of curls laying on her, the boy fast asleep as he snored softly.
this was something she could get used to.
nini brought her hands to his hair and ran her fingers through his curls, "ricky," she whispered "ricky, babe, wake up."
the boy groaned sleepily as he lifted his head and buried his face in the crook of her neck, causing for her to giggle softly
"ricky!" she exclaimed
"five more minutes." he mumbled, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her close to him
"i have to be at the studio in fifteen minutes." she reminded him
"they don't start without you, so stay." he replied, keeping his eyes closed as he exhaled deeply
nini turned around to have her face inches away from his, smiling when he soon opened his eyes for them to meet hers.
"hi." he whispered as a faint smile creeped its way onto his face, the boy closing his eyes for a split second as she giggled
"hi," she replied softly, feeling him near his face closer for their noses to touch
nini's smile brightened up as she closed her eyes for a second or two before taking a deep breath and sitting up
"hey!" ricky groaned with a pout, making her laugh
"i have to get ready!" she exclaimed, making her way off of the bed
"is this what married life is going to be like?" he asked jokingly with a raised eyebrow
nini rolled her eyes playfully as her cheeks heated up "speaking of..."
she sat on his side of the bed as he sat up against the headboard, the girl taking a deep breath
"do you...think we should wait until we tell-like...jenn and benjamin...?" she asked cautiously
ricky nodded "yeah, they won't be super supportive will they?"
nini shook her head "not really."
they both chuckled and ricky took ahold of her hand and brought it up to his lips to place a light kiss, making her smile "we'll just not tell anyone, then."
"but you were serious right?" she asked hesitantly "about the whole marriage thing."
ricky nodded "of course, you are too right?"
nini beamed at him, nodding too "without a thought."
"good." he smiled with relief as nini leaned towards him to place a kiss on his cheek before pulling back
"i'm going to get showered-"
ricky raised his eyebrows with a grin forming on his face before nini whacked his arm
"ow!"
"alone, richard." she warned him as he let out a laugh
"fine, i'm going back to sleep."
she chuckled as she watched him lie back down and pull the covers over his body before shaking her head with a small smile as she made her way into the bathroom to get ready.
nini left the apartment content, tucking the strands of her hair back and adjusting her braids as she made her way out of the building and towards her car
the phone ringtone came through inside of the vehicle, nini answering it as she took a deep breath and started the car
"hello?"
"nini, hey."
"oh-hey ej..." nini said in slight surprise as she cleared her throat "um-if you're looking to talk to ricky, he's not with me, i'm headed to the studio right now-"
"actually, i need to talk to you..." ej told her
nini knit her eyebrows together, stopping at a red light as she leaned back against her seat "is everything okay?"
"yeah-yeah, it's just-um-it's complicated...can we meet up later when you're free?"
"...i guess, sure?"
"okay-you okay with coming over?"
nini nodded "yeah, i'll be there at about six?"
"okay, thanks." ej said, distressed
"hey, ej," nini called before hanging up "i'm sure whatever it is, it'll be okay. alright?"
ej exhaled deeply, waiting a few seconds before he spoke up again "maybe...thanks."
"bye," nini said as she hung up and felt confusion wash over her "what happened to you ej?" she muttered as she continued to make her way to the studio.
