"Kyran you not gone smile?" I asked as I tried to take a picture of Yasmine with the kids now that her graduation ceremony was over
Kyran continued to just look like he wasn't paid enough to be here. I eventually gave up and just took the picture with him being the only one not smiling and she put both Kyran and kinsley down
"Oh my gosh how do y'all hold them both at the same time?"
"We don't" I told her and she laughed while kinsley went straight to benji
Even though Yasmine was smiling, I could tell she was annoyed. She was probably ready to get out of that robe
"Did you find your father yet?" I asked her, tryina be funny and she shook her head
"He didn't come"
"What?" Benji spoke up and I was beyond shocked, not knowing what to say
"Why?"
She shrugged "I don't know. He told me this morning he wasn't gonna make it so he gave me a check and told me to call him after"
"Are you serious?"
Yas nodded, turned her head and I could tell she was about to cry. When she looked at me the tears were already falling and just in time, London walked over to us, finally finding us in the crowd of people. I pulled yas into a hug as she cried and London looked confused
"What happened"
"I already don't have my momma kay. And you would think he would care. I swear I hate him"
"Yasmine, this is YOUR day. We ain bout to let him ruin it. We got you and we gone make sure you celebrate your day okay!"
She nodded, wiping her eyes
"And if you don't wanna go back there, that's fine! I already told you that you welcomed to stay with us"
"And if you don't wanna stay there you can come to my house" London suggested making benji suck his teeth
"Don't nobody wanna stay at yo lame ass shit"
London made a face at benji and I laughed before looking at Yasmine again
"It's up to you"
"You ain got no friends you wanna chill with or nothin?" Benji asked her "this yo graduation night"
"I don't have friends here. All of my friends two hours away at my old school"
"Why won't you go see them?" I asked her "I wish I could've hung out with my friends after graduation. I had to go home and celebrate with my parents"
"Graduation night was one of the few times I was given permission to keep azaria so I spent my night with my baby"
"Shitttt" Benji laughed, scratching his neck and I glanced at him
"And what did you do?"
"The question is WHO did I do?"
I gave him a stank face
"I bet so witcho nasty ass.. anyways Yasmine. If you wanna go see your friends go ahead"
" just do be out there being grown" Benji told her making me roll my eyes
"That girl is about to be 18"
"And?"
"Didn't you JUST say you don't even remember who you did your graduation night?"
"I got one even better" London said "how old was Kay when y'all first got together"
"This is not about me" I pointed at myself
"Ion do none of that Kay and benji been doing" Yasmine laughed "I ain even kiss nobody before"
"Good" Benji spoke again while putting kinsley in the stroller and did the same to Kyran "kissing causes std's"
"Really benji" London laughed
"Whatchu sayin really benji for? Yo ass probably had a couple"
"Don't listen to him" I focused on Yasmine"you go ahead and go spend time with your friends and enjoy yourself. And whenever you come back this way just call me and let me know what you gonna do"
"Okay.. and thank you Kay" she hugged me and I hugged her back
"No problem yas. You my baby sister. I already told you, I got you so smile. It's you day, your hair is laid and you look beautiful"
"But you still ain grown" Benji just had to say causing yas to laugh

"Ma look!" Hendrix yelled while he slid down the slide of the swing set in the backyard.
"Okay! Why you won't show your brother how to slide?"
Hendrix stopped climbing back up the steps to get back on the slide, looking at Kyran while he played with some toy as he sat on the ground by himself away from kinsley then shook his head "no"
Benji shook his head, laughing a little
"Both of yo sons rude as hell"
"I wonder where they get it from" I muttered while sitting down on the steps beside benji "so... I was talking to ari yesterday"
"I bet so. Cause that's all y'all do. You, Ari and Bri. Just talk"
"You get on my damn nerves. But listen."
"I'm listening"
"I'm thinking about leaving my job for a while" I bluntly said making him look at me "I just need a break cause it's been a lot going on"
"Kay... I been told yo dumbass you ain had to go back"
"Why I gotta be dumb?"
"Cause you don't listen. I don't ever just tell you shit for no reason. You ain a single mother, we way past financially straight and you got the luxury of not having to work but you chose to go back and now you come home stressed out, complaining and shit"
"I do have it good and I don't even realize it. Meanwhile I got one sister that had to fight to be able to prove she was on a good enough track to get her child and the other sister a whole single mother"
"Who a single mother?"
"Milani. She said scooter moved out over a month ago... how come I could forgive London so quickly after what she did but it's like, I just can't let up off of lani easy"
"You don't expect the ones you closest with to switch up on you. You could expect that kinda shit from somebody like London cause you barely knew the girl but lani was yo best friend no matter how y'all look at it. But you know what Kay, life is full of lessons"
"So you saying I should forgive her"
"I ain tellin you shit. Ain nobody bout to blame me for nothing"
I laughed and sucked my teeth, grabbing his arm
"Forreal Dimitri. Im asking you"
Benji sighed "I say forgive her cause whether you believe it or not, she been learning her lesson. Forgive her but don't just jump back into shit like everything so cool cause it ain't. At this point all y'all can do is start over. Especially since it's just more than y'all involved. You saw how Hendrix was when he saw her"
"I love when you talk so mature. I wish I could get you pregnant"
Benji straight faced me and I smiled
"You always on some shit man"
"Cause I love you" I grabbed his face and kissed him repeatedly "you know what. Tonight we gotta put all three of them to bed by 9. In THEIR OWN ROOM. Cause I'm tryina have sex tonight. I'm talkin bout real NASTY type shit"
Benji couldn't help but laugh, smiling a little "oh forreal"
"Yeah forreal. Me and Bri was talkin bout that last night now that I think about it"
"You and Bri talk about a whole damn lot"
"That's my other half. Whatchu mean? Shit, honestly bri probably seen my ass and titties almost as much as you too"
"Well damn. I guess it's just fuck me and shy ain it?"
"Boyyy" I burst out laughing, jokingly nudging him

I sat on the floor of my bedroom packing up my things, which really didn't take long because I never really got comfortable enough to unpack everything since I've been staying here
"I can't believe I finally have my son" I could hear him say from downstairs, talking to that weird ass pregnant girlfriend of his that's supposed to be his employee.
I rolled my eyes and continued to pack my things. Once I was done I started to stand up and saw him now standing in the door of my room
"And where are you going?"
"I don't wanna stay here anymore"
He sighed as he put his hands in his pockets "what did I do now? It's always something with you Yasmine"
"It's always something with me?" I repeated
"Yes. You've been nothing but disrespectful, disobedient and ungrateful since you got here. And yes! I understand you lost your mom but eventually you need to learn to handle all of these emotions because you're taking it out on the person that's doing the most for you"
"I wish I knew the right words to describe you right now.. but all ima say is karma was right" I said to him with a laugh and he looked at me some type of way
"Karma? Is this what this is about? Karma putting stuff in your head because everything was good until you started communicating with karma"
"Of course everybody is the problem but you" I slapped my hand down on my thigh "You only do stuff when it's necessary or when you tryina save face! Nothing you ever do is genuine and whenever you do it, you'll eventually throw it back in my face! You evil, narcissistic and an all around bad person. My sister shows me more love and loyalty than the man that gave me life! BENJI has done more for me than all the money you've spent on me. I came from a household where I was genuinely loved and cared for and ended up in rich hell. You left me here so many times alone to go on trips when you're supposed to be helping your grieving daughter and you skipped out on one of my biggest accomplishments to do what? Because you've been here all day with that lady"
"You are being unreasonable Yasmine"
"No im being real. And you told me when I graduate that I have to get a job or get out, so ima do both"
"And go where? You don't have anybody else Yasmine"
"TO MY SISTER"
He nodded, scratching the bridge of his nose
"So I guess it's your turn to move on to the hood, go and get trapped with some drug dealing felon who can barely get by. Raising a bunch of kids until he decides he wants to settle down"
"Says the big shot lawyer that cheated on his wife multiple times and had not one, not two... but three kids outside of his marriage. And don't try to talk down on them because one thing I guarantee you about benji, he did more for karma in the few years they've been together than you EVER did for her. Talking down on them but you tryina start over for a fourth time, having a new baby while you already got 4 grandkids. But you know what, enjoy FinAlLy haViNg yOuR BoY"
He looked at me like he wanted to say something but instead he just moved out of the way and let me through
"Fine. Go.. but just know when that boy gets tired of you and tells her you gotta go. You can't come back here"
I rolled my eyes, clutching onto all of my bags so I wouldn't have to make a second trip, and headed downstairs so I could leave
