'Rin could take down that guy alone. And could possibly beat All Might before he retired.' Kaminari thought.

'I wonder what her life was like before coming to UA?'

I guess I should start from the beginning.

A meteor struck the earth causing a great explosion to kill all the Dino-

Not that far back!

A child born with black and white hair crawled on the ground at just 5 months. Her mother cheered proudly from right next to her.

I guess this'll do. Ever since I was a child there were very high expectations I was meant to achieve. I guess I set those expectations for myself when I said my first word at 5 months.

The woman smiled happily while picking up her baby and sitting on the luxurious couch. She had long white hair tied into a side ponytail, resting on her shoulder. Her eyes were sparkling light blue. The tips of her hair were dyed redish orange, a white sweater, as well as a black skirt.

That there, is my mother. Bless her heart, she only wanted a child to pass down her legacy, and have her child tell stories about her to their children. She was a hero known as Nightlight. I know, and she knew the name was tacky but she always wanted to be the bright light during other's darkest times. Also her quirk was the ability to manipulate sunlight.

The woman gasped and looked towards another room where a man shouted angrily into his phone and abruptly hug up. He had black hair and dark blue eyes that could beat the deepest part of the ocean. His black tux suited his defined face and slicked back hair.

My father on the other hand. He wanted a child who would continue his legacy exactly. Be the next Shadow Walker. That was his villain name. Self explanatory, he can control shadows and travel through them. Unlike my mother, he wanted the strongest and brightest child instantly, and one that could wield both light, and darkness. He doesn't understand that people don't come out of the womb brilliant. I'm not a good example since I was learning a lot faster than any other baby my age.

The man turned towards his wife and smiled. It wasn't a loving smile however, it seemed diabolical. He walked over and picked up the baby before walking into a different room that had literature books and a small whiteboard. He then shut the door and tried teaching the baby how to speak.

My parents used to love each other. At least that's what my mom said. I always wondered what happened, the story she told me always sounded like a fairytale. Hero falls for the villain and vise-versa, not caring how opposite they were, they get a lovely house and work together as a business owner and housewife. I always thought I was the one who ruined that fairytale love life.

~•~

The dual haired kid now knows how to talk perfectly. Now it was just to perfect her fighting skills. Anytime she did something wrong, there would be a one hit punishment. She dawned many bruises since her power never showed itself. Every day it was early rising and late to bed. Only for three hours, she would have free time. Most of that time she would beg her mother to go to the park. Sometimes her begging worked but other times it would be too risky.

One day, she met her very first friend.

"Have fun. And remember to be back here on time." The white haired woman instructed to her daughter.

"Okay, mama." The kid responded before running towards the swings. It wasn't a well known park, it barely had anything in it, just swings and a sandbox. The swings were by far her favorite playground equipment. The higher she got, the more free she felt.

As she was starting up her momentum she saw another group enter the park. It was a woman with light purple hair and a kid holding her hand. Rin thought the kid was male due to the short hair. I mean, she has short hair but her father wants to keep it short for training. Anyways. Rin watched the two for a second before resuming her feeling of freedom. She got so high that for a brief few seconds, the chains holding her seat would go slack.

"How did you get so high?" A voice asked and the girl looked over to the swing next to her. It was the boy with light purple hair. Rin didn't know if she should talk or not, but it was only them so she didn't see the harm in trying to explain.

"Y-you just, push all your weight to, preferably your shoulders when you l-lean back." The dual haired girl said shyly.

"Sorry I couldn't hear everything?" The boy said. He was now seated on the other swing and Rin had to slow down for him to hear her. The girl held onto the chins and moved forward to dig her feet into the sand beneath the swing. On the first attempt she slightly slipped out of her seat. But her grip held strong and since her feet were still dug into the sand, she stoped completely on that first attempt.

"I s-said you have to move your weight to your shoulders w-when leaning back." The girl finally advised but the boy didn't care about getting that high into the air anymore. He was amazed that the girl could suddenly stop herself after swinging at her height.

"That was so cool." The boy said with excitement. Rin was a little taken back but his choice of words and happiness...in her?

"W-what was so cool?" Rin asked while twirling a piece of her hair around her finger.

"You stoped yourself mid swing from all the way up there." He said and pointed to where she was previously. Rin finally realized he was complimenting her.

"You...really thought that was cool?" The girl asked and wanted to hide her face in her shirt.

"Yeah. Oh, my name's Hitoshi Shinso by the way." He said and stuck his hand out. The girl slightly moved back but saw he didn't advance any closer to her.

"R-Rin Valcary." The girl said and shook his hand.

From that day on the two would meet at the park every day. Shinso and Rin's moms started talking and became good friends. Rin finally knew what it felt like to be happy. And she wasn't scared to show it.

But when everything seems like it's going great. Life throws a curve ball.

"So your quirk is brainwash?" Rin asked Shinso who was excited over his new found quirk.

"Yeah. I can control anyone I want." The purple haired boy said.

"Cool. A kid in my school can make his sweat explode." Rin said as she remembered the ash blonde in her class showing off his quirk.

Seeing how my father acted, no one would expect me to go to a public school. I was shocked too but somehow mom convinced him the social encounters would be good for my training. However my free time dwindled down to only an hour.

"What about you? You should be getting your quirk soon, right?" Shinso asked the girl who swayed in her swing.

"Yeah. Papa's taking me to the doctor tomorrow to see if I'll get one. So I won't be here tomorrow." Rin explained with a smile.

"Oh yeah. Aren't you turning four tomorrow?" Shinso asked. Remembering that her birthday was the next day.

Yep. You heard that right. Kids get their quirks during the age of four. But my father isn't patient, so he's asking the doctor why I don't have my quirk yet. One sentence shattered my world.

"I'm sorry but your daughter is quirkless." The doctor answered from his seat. Both the father and kid looked at him with wide eyes. One of fear and the other of anger.

"No this can't be right. My daughter has to have a quirk." The man argued with a scowl.

"We'll there's not much to explain. Her X-rays show two joints in her pinky toes. This feature has very commonly been seen in people who don't have quirks." The doctor explained.

"But there's still a chance she could get a power?" The man asked while the kid was still petrified.

"Not likely." The doctor answered. Not knowing he would ruin the child's life.

That night back at home wasn't a fun one. The dual haired girl was tossed to the ground with a visible black eye. The daughter looked up at her father with pure fear. Meanwhile the wife was behind him and had tears threatening to fall. That was the start of the girl's tortured year. Her life was like walking on egg shells. Any wrong move her father would beat her for it.

My mother truly tried her best to keep me safe. But the verbal abuse what's a whole other ballgame. I was called a mistake, disappointment, a lot of other words that no father should ever tell their daughter. But the one that hurt me the most was...

"You're a monster!" The black haired man yelled while the girl had a solid punch to her face. Knocking out a baby tooth and her cheek split from his ring. The only thing that showed the bond of his marriage. When he was done the girl put a bandage on her cheek and went to sleep, waiting for the next day of hell.

The next day she was finally able to go back to the park. Shinso was already there and sadly swaying on the swing. Rin saw him and felt a sense of security around the boy. She soon ran from holding her mom's hand to hugging the boy. He was shocked by her sudden appearance but when he saw the black and white hair he quickly returned the hug. He then gently pushed her away and saw the bandage.

"Where have you been?" He asked with worry. The last time he saw her was two weeks ago.

"I...got into an accident. But I'm okay now." Rin lied. What happens in her house stays in her house. As ordered by her father.

"Oh, hello Rin. I'm glad to see you're back. Shinso was worried night a day about you." His mother giggled as she walked up to her son.

"Mom!" Shinso protested. Rin's mom walked up as well and chuckled along with the purple haired woman.

The two women got to catching up while Shinso and Rin continued playing together. Rin's mom looked over at the two kids and the purple haired boy was giving her daughter a piggyback ride. She nudged the woman next to her and they both agreed this was a perfect picture moment.

"Hey guys!" Rin's mom said to catch their attention. When the two kids looked over they saw the phone camera pointed at them.

"Smile." Shinso's mom said and the two obligated.

None of them knew that the two wouldn't see each other for ten years.

Four weeks after the meet up with Shinso, the abuse gradually got worse. It went from verbal to physical, then the punches went to kicks and once in a while, whipping. No one outside the house knew about the events inside. Rin's mom would bandage her back and Rin would give the perfect fake smile in school. She eventually had to mentally train herself not to flinch when someone raised their hand near her.

A month into finding out Rin was quirkless. Her mother had enough. Rin was getting hit by her father again but as he raised his hand another grabbed his wrist.

"Stop it!" The white haired lady shouted. Bad idea.

"Do you want her pain?!" The man shouted and hit the woman. He was only blinded by rage a continued to hit her. No matter how much she pleaded or how many bruises grew on her arms and face.

Rin huddled against the kitchen counter in fear. She saw her mother's pain and wanted to change that. Rin suddenly stood up and ran in front of her mother, with raised arms to defend her.

"I'll protect mama as long as I can stand!" Rin declared. The man's intimidating aura darkened and it made Rin tremble. However he simply scoffed and turned away to a different room. Rin fell to her knees and her mother pulled Rin into a hug.

"How was I gifted with such an amazing daughter?" The woman questioned and ignored the pain to give the child a warm smile.

"But mommy, I'm not an amazing daughter...Daddy said so himself." The child said sadly and she wanted to cry. But she felt her eyes were out of tears to cry.

"Sweetheart, you're amazing because even if you know what lies ahead, you sacrifice yourself to save me. You will always be my hero...and I have a feeling, you're gonna become a hero to others as well." The woman smiled and let her daughter nuzzle their face into her neck.

"Okay mommy, I'll be a hero for you...I promise." Rin said. Rin's mom pulled away from the hug and gave a small peck on her daughters forehead.

The two separated and Rin was in her room. She took the bandages off her upper torso and looked at her raw and bloodied back in her mirror. Rin sighed and grabbed new gaze to wrap around her.

'Would they be happier if I wasn't here?' Rin asked herself in her mind. She finished wrapping her wounds and climbed into bed.

10 months passed and the same things happened. Rin's back was scarred from all the attacks on her back and no matter how many times her mom got hurt, she would step in. Today however was going to be different. Rin was packing a black backpack and had a black hoodie on. Rin forced her window open and looked back at the door of her room before leaping out.

Her room was positioned on the second floor. But as soon as her feet touched the ground she pulled her shoulder forward and rolled over her back. The girl hissed in pain but it was better than her legs taking the full shock of the fall. She quickly picked up the backpack she tossed out before her and ran into the streets.

At this point she didn't care what happened to her. Live or die, it didn't matter to her. This was the closed she felt to any freedom. But the image of her mother continuing to get beat is what tugged her heart back. Her legs kept a steady running pace though. A man stepped out of an ally. He had baggy black sweatpants and a light greg hoodie. He watched as the kid zoomed past him and continued down the street.

I'd keep that guy in mind. He's kinda important.

The child continued running past many buildings and she couldn't keep track of how many left and right turns she made. Rin was exhausted but her fathers training kept her legs strong during her running. She finally stopped and curled up in an alley. She would have cried if she didn't feel so...unworthy.

"Hey, you okay kid?" A kind voice asked. Rin didn't get to see who it was before she suddenly sprinted back onto the street. She zigzagged through alleyways to make sure the...whoever they were weren't following her. Rin didn't hear footsteps behind she so she briefly looked back. Only to slam right into a hard but soft surface.

She looked up to see a man with brown hair, black sweatpants and a grey hoodie. Rin pushed herself back, it was 50,50 either this guy is an ally of her father or truly just some stranger who wants to help.

"Are you okay? I can help if you want?" The man asked and offered a hand to help the girl up. She slightly flinched and just stared at him for a good minute before accepting the gesture. Rin had to get the events off her chest. And what better way than to tell a stranger who she's probably never going to see again...right? Besides, he asked.

"I-I'm not okay." Rin stuttered out and fiddled with her hoodie sleeve.

"Where are you going? Do you have a home to return to?" The stranger asked with care laced in everything he said. It was a nice change of pace for the girl. Rin shook her head.

"I'm running away." The dual haired girl said and the man didn't respond. He simply sat down against the alley wall and patted the space next to him.

"Do you wanna tell me what happened?" He asked while the kid took her spot next to him.

She couldn't do it anymore. The lies, the fake emotions, the pretending. All of it, she was done. So she told what happened. Her abuse, the background knowledge of the abuse, and how much she missed her mom. Rin didn't even realize some tears slipped out her eyes. All he did was sit there and listen, often times looking at her with eyes of pity. Then a simple question was going to, unexpectedly, fix her life.

"Do you want the power to fight back?" He questioned and the kid wiped her tears away before looking at him in confusion. "You have a strong spirit, and clearly a strong will to bear through such times for so long. So you deserve the power to fight back, and protect yourself, as well as your mother."

He stood up and extended his hand as a handshake.

"So do you want the power?" He questioned and Rin silently debated her options. Well, she's got nothing else to loose so why not?

Rin nodded her head and stood up to shake the man's hand. Suddenly both of them were screaming in pain and a black color connected both their hands. The color connecting their hands disappeared and the man fell backwards.

"H-Hey! Are you okay?" Rin asked and quickly ran to the man to check his pulse. She didn't feel a beat and shuffled away from him in fear. There were quiet sounds of police sirens in the distance and the girl looked around fearfully.

We need to get you back home.

An unknown deep voice said and it caused Rin to slightly yelp and stumble back. She suddenly started running away from the sirens and was running faster than she was earlier. A black tendril shot out her hand and imbedded itself into the side of a building. It retracted an Rin was suddenly launched into the sky with a terrified yell.

"What's going on!?!" The kid shouted over the rushing wind.

Told you that guy was important. I didn't know this at the time but the guy I was talking to was Eddie Brock. The previous host of the simbiyote that currently lives inside me.

Rin made it back home, having nowhere else to go. And she had a gut feeling something bad was gonna happen to her mom. As soon as the girl stepped back into her house she looked up and felt her heart hit the floor. Her mother was laying not far away.

In a puddle of blood.

"M-Mommy." Rin said and dropped her bag to run over. She fell to her knees and shook the woman's shoulder."Momma...why aren't you moving?" Rin asked with tears welling up in her eyes."Come on momma this isn't funny." Rin said with a small chuckle. The only thing that this could be was a joke. At least that's what she thought. She still didn't get a response and her hopeful smile turned. "Don't leave me. Please...DON'T LEAVE ME!!!" Rin shouted to try and get a response but she didn't get anything so she held the body close to her. Not caring if she got blood on her.

"Don't you get it?" Someone asked and Rin's head spun around to see her father leaning against a wall with a bloodied knife. "She's dead because of you."

"No, nonono." Rin doubted.

"If you never left, she wouldn't have died." The man said and started walking closer to Rin. "Everything you do will only end with someone getting hurt. He squatted next to the kid while she cried into her mom's bloody white hair.

"T-That's not true." The kid cried. Deep down she knew he was right. She's been blaming herself for everything ever since she found out she didn't have a quirk.

"You know it's true." The man said and griped the knife while having a murderous glint to his eyes. "A monster shouldn't belong on this planet." He concluded and raised the knife up, pointed at her back.

Rin's head lifted up but she was still looking away from him. His hand moved toward her back but a sudden black tendril pressed against his neck. His eyes widened in surprise while he let go of the knife to try and remove the inky substance. Before Rin could process what happened, her body had black ink surrounding it. The black tendril held up the man by his neck and the black ink formed into a tall figure. The figure slowly turned around and it held up its arm so the tendril was now it's arm.

"I've only been allowed to eat bad people. And you, are most certainly a bad person."

Venom growled and glared with his milky white eyes. The man was terrified until a smile tugged at his lips. If he was gonna die then he was gonna leave Rin with a sentence that will never leave her.

"Everyone will only think of you as a monster." The man grunted out. Venom didn't react but the girl hidden within him had wide eyes. "They'll hurt you, over and over again. And feel no remorse for a creature that can't feel-" his sentence was cut off by a snapping sound. His head went limp and Venom grabbed his leg to dangle him upside down.

"W-Wait! What're you-" Rin's question was cut off by Venom bitting off the man's head and Rin would have covered her mouth in fear. Venom dropped the body and licked the blood off his teeth in satisfaction.

"He deserved it."

Venom said and sunk back into the girl's body. Rin finally covered her mouth in fear and the tears were pouring out here eyes. Three people died, all around her in less than half an hour, and she believed all their deaths were because of her. Normally when she would have intruding thoughts she would curl up with her mom and cry.

The only thing Rin could think of would be exactly that. The little girl walked over to her mom's body and sat next to it. She pulled her knees closer to her and cried into the crook of her legs. Venom felt bad for his new host so he formed out her back and went over to the phone. He dialed the number for 911 and they answered.

"911, what's your emergency?" The receptionist guy on the other end of the line asked.

"There's been a murder at the Valcary residence."

"The police are on their way but I need an exact addre-" Venom hung up the phone before they could finish their sentence. He then sunk back into Rin's body and decided to give her time to accept her situation.

Not long after there were red and blue lights outside the building. A police man kicked the door down after getting no response and was mortified by what he saw. The police man and woman standing behind him were also shocked.

A headless body bleeding out and a woman already bled out with a child crying into her legs with blood on her. The police woman walked into the building and gently tapped on the kids knee.

"Let's get you out of here." The officer said and Rin nodded before refusing the officers help and standing up in her own.

What an origin story. Genius prodigy, kills her parents, and makes a deal with the devil. Honestly, if you where to tell me what happens next...I would have thought you were legally insane.

The kid sat at the police station with her head practically glued to the crook of her legs. Her arms held her hunched up legs like they would run away if she were to loosen up. It was uncomfortable sitting in the position on a flimsy chair. But she had no care in the world at the moment.

Any police officer who tried getting a word out of her failed dismally and only received silence. They couldn't blame her thought. Witnessing her parents deaths at such a young age. And they didn't even have a clue that she was the one who killed them. Even the simbyote inside her knew to keep his mouth shut and let her proses things.

The only person who got a word out of her was a visitor in a red white and blue outfit.

The blonde man walked into the police station and at first didn't notice the child. He just walked up to the front desk.

"Good evening. I'm here for Rin Valcary." The male asked the officer at the desk.

"She's right over there." The officer pointed behind the man. He turned around and noticed the child peeking over her knees but quickly hid her gaze. The only reason she looked up was because she heard her name mentioned. The male gently walked over to the girl and kneeled in front of her.

"Hello young one. Are you Rin Valcary?" The man asked. He wanted to make sure he was talking to the right person and wanted to start the conversation off slow. The kid peeked above her knees and nodded. "My name is Yagi Toshinori, better known as All Might. Your mother wrote a will before dying. Do you know what a will is?"

His question gained a nod from the girl.

"Well, I'm a friend of hers. Before she died she wanted me to take care of you." All Might explained with a kind smile. Rin didn't give the desired reaction. Her tears welled up again and tucked her face back into her knees.

"N-no." The girl squeaked out. It was barely louder than a whisper.

"No?" The blonde questioned.

"I-I...I'll hurt you." Rin muttered as her eyes released a few tears. All Might's smile quickly softened into a frown. One minute of meeting the girl and he can already tell she has the mental trauma no child should have. He didn't respond and instead wrapped his arms around her to give the girl a kind hug.

"It's fine now." All Might kindly whispered.

"W-why?" Rin whimpered with a hiccup.

"Because I am here." With those words, Rin's tears couldn't be held back. She let go of her legs and swung her arms around his neck. She's never felt such a warm a safe embrace in a long time.

That phrase would become a sentence of hope for the entire world. No one would know that the first person it gave hope to, was me.

Soon afterwards I met the Avengers. You know the attack of aliens in New York? Guess who was there. Yep little traumatized me killed a few aliens and got recognized by a certain overzealous tin can. That same moth, my new dad had to go back to Japan to reach his dream of becoming the Symbol of Peace. But before he left we had to solve a difficult decision for me.

"Okay. We need to figure out the legal maters." All might said to Rin while she sat on the couch. The male sat down next to her and wrapped a comforting arm around the girl. "Since I'm taking care of you now, you can choose to have my last name."

"B-but if people correlate you last name to my last name, they would want me to take your place. And, I-I don't think I'm worthy to become a hero." The little girl muttered the last part so he couldn't hear it and pulled up her legs to hug them.

"Exactly. So...do you want to choose your last name?" All Might hesitantly asked, not wanting to leave the girl with such a difficult decision to make. But it had to be made. He didn't know that she already came up with a resolve.

"I think...I want my last name to be, Kaibutsu." The girl said and felt confident enough to stop hugging her legs. All Might was shocked by her answer and looked at her with wide eyes.

"Are you sure?! You are aware that the English translation for Kaibutsu is monster?" All Might asked. He was aware of what the girl's father has said to her. And how much those words affected the young girl.

"I'm sure. Besides, it was momma's last name before she married papa." Rin smiled to herself. She knew this is what she wanted. To keep her mother's legacy alive.

I stayed in New York for about 9 years and continued training to become an Avenger. Toshi would come back and see me whenever he could, which was easy since the Avengers had private jets for quick travel. The way I show my emotions got a lot better, but what I did still haunts me to this day. I'm proud of my last name, besides Rin Kaibutsu has a nice ring to it.

After I turned 11 I got a lot of chances to go with Toshi to Japan and meet a lot of new heroes. As well as get sneak peeks into UA.

At 15 I moved back to Japan since Toshi got an offer to work at UA to look for a successor. He asked me if I wanted One for All but I declined because I didn't want so much expectation on my shoulders. And the little problem of not believing I was worthy of being a hero. A week after we moved I saw Shinso again on wild chance. I was a little emotional, he was a lot emotional, to be honest it was hilarious. Exentually I had to go back to school- even though I already learned everything they were teaching- coincidently in the same class as Izuku and Bakugo.

So Denki. To answer your question, even thought you're not gonna know any of this.

I had a fucked up childhood.
