Cerberus stretched out his hand and the another door inside dungeon opened.
"Welcome to the Tombs of Horror" he said and a strong wind passed by us. It was strong enough to make us step backward.
"Where did that wind came from?" I asked
"Just inside, this dungeon hasn't been open for a hundred years after al" he replied
"The hallways are too narrow" Lance said
We decided na ipasok muna namin sa summoning circle ang mga guardian namin. Cerberus was leading our way papasok ang believe me or not, it was damn scary and creepy.
"You said this was not opened for hundred years right? So someone came here before us?" I asked
"Well, I did met some humans but they were not strong enough to defeat me so they went away. Just after a couple of days, the Emperors of Hell visited along with some prisoners from hell to complete this dungeon" Cerberus replied
"And no one came back alive?" Aqua asked
"Obviously" he answered
"But why are you helping us?" Lance asked
"Because Emperor Asmodeus asked me to assist you" he answered
We continued walking straight and I still don't see any signs of another hallway.
"Cerberus" I called
"Do have any idea why this scroll was hidden?" I asked
"No but as far as I know, the scroll in this dungeon is not actually hidden, this dungeon is actually protecting it" he answered
Protecting from what though?
I continued walking and the moment I stepped , the brick that I was stepping on moved forward at nagtinginan kaming lahat.
"Adios" biglang sabi ni Cerberus and he vanished along with his dogs
We heard noises from behind us at dahan-dahan kaming lumingon.
"The bricks that we've been walking from behind are falling!!" Prince Dylan shouted
"RUN!" Lance shouted back at tumakbo kami
The hallway was still straight filled with darkness but we have no choice but to run. Sa di kalayuan, I noticed a wall.
"Dead end???" I exclaimed
We stopped right in front of the wall at napatingin kami sa likoran na. The bricks were falling so fast and approaching us. Below these bricks are also lava which is a very bad news to us.
"G-guys?" Velvet said at napatingin kami sa kanya
"I think I just touched another trap" he said softly with fear and then the bricks behind us vanished
"You've got to be kidding me!!!" I shouted at nahulog kaming lahat sa trap na nabuksan ni Velvet.
"A slide???" I shouted
Yes, the bricks behind us led us into this slide. To be honest, I can't see any thing. But what I'm sure of is that whatever is below this slide is another trap.
"Where the hell is Cerberus???" reklamo ko
"WHO KNOWS!" sigaw naman ni Velvet
"OHH! A TORCH!" sigaw ni Aqua
I stared down at the torch and I noticed that right below this slide was spikes with rotten bodies on it.
"Diablo!"
"Seraphiel!"
"Maria!"
"Aquarius!"
"Lynch!"
Right, we summoned our guardians and they were just in time catching us. We were all catching our breath as we stared down on the bodies. Napahawak ako sa damit ni Diablo dahil sa kaba. I really thought I was gonna die. And also, watching these bodies made me remember my past life.
Right, I died just like them. I don't wanna die now.
"Lotus" he called and that snapped me back into reality at napatingin sa kanya
"Are you okay?" he asked and I nodded
Our guardians landed us away from the spikes at napaupo kaming lahat whila Aquarius and Aqua were doing their thing on healing us and bringing our stamina back.
Tumayo kami and this time bumalik na ulit si Cerberus.
"Why did you leave us just like that?? I thought you will assist us!" reklamo ni Velvet
"Well, if you guys died there then you're not worthy of getting the scroll." he explained which made sense as well. I mean he can't just give the scroll to anybody, right?
This time, were not in the hallway but we were in a cave so our guardians stayed with us.
Nauna silang maglakad habang ako ay naglalakad sa likoran with Diablo beside me.
"What's wrong? You've been spacing out" he said
"Nothing really, just thinking about something" I replied at yumuko ako
I mean, I was just thinking about death. Normally, I don't really mind but now that I saw those bodies, I just can't help think about it. I can't die yet. I have to become the strongest demon tamer in this country. I promised papa. Also, I have to find Harley and defeat that dark angel. I still have a lot of things to do. I even need to find the connection of that lullaby to everything that has happened. I can't die.
Now that I think about it, I even remember how scary death was when I faced Cerberus for the first time.
"Lotus, they're too far already" biglang sabi ni Diablo at nataohan ako. I lifted my face and yes, they were far from us already.
"Y-Yeah, let's catch up" sagot ko naman
"Lotus!! Diablo!! Come one!!" sigaw naman ni Velvet
"Yeahh coming!!" I shouted back and we walked in faster pace
"Something's wrong, right?" Diablo asked and I shook my head.
He stopped me from walking by grabbing my wrist at napatingin ako sa kanya.
"I have a part of you so I can still something is bothering you. Lotus, we don't have time for this. We need to finish this mission as soon as possible." he said coldly
"I know, I just... you know.. I mean you can't understand because you can't die" I said
"I may not die but my master's death is my death as well so what the hell is your point?" he asked irritatedly
"I really like your will on doing missions and saving people but today? the will inside you is fading, what the hell are you thinking?!" he shouted and I glanced on the other direction, the others were not there already.
"Diablo, we should go. I can't see them anymore." I answered at naglakad
He appeared in front of me with irritated facial expression.
"I can't serve you of your acting like this" he said coldly
"Then don't" I answered and he transformed into his demon form, the demon form with a long hair.
"I'm gonna ask you again Lotus. What the hell is bothering you!?" he asked coldly
"What does death have to do with it?" he asked again
"FINE! I was just thinking I can't die for now okay? You see, this dungeon can basically kill us all and I can't die like those bodies. I have to get out and be the strongest demon tamer! I have to defeat that dark angel! I can't die now, and you don't understand because demons like you can't die!" I shouted
"Demons like me?" he asked and he grabbed me by my collar
"Lotus" he called coldly
"Stop acting like you're human" he said and my eyes widen
"because you're not anymore." he added
"Let me remind you, you're one of us now-- you know, demons like us, just like you said" he added again at napalunok ako. He's right.
While grabbing me by my collar, he lifted his thumb and touched my lower lip with it.
"And just so you know" he said softly and leaned forward
"You can't die easily" he added
He stopped touching my lower lip and leaned more. Our lips meet.
My eyes widen out of shock. I mean, we do kiss and even do more but not in dungeons.
Our eyes were still open as he was kissing me. Our tongues intertwined at napahawak ako sa damit niya while he was grabbing my collar closer to him than before.
We heard footsteps na papunta samin and voices calling our names form the other direction, I bet it's them and noticed that we were not behind them, kaya bumitaw si Diablo sa halik namin. He licked my lower lip before freeing my collar.
"Your half demon Lotus. " he said
"Stop thinking like a normal human" he added
Right. I'm not human anymore.
