Lisa took the box out of curiosity. The box seemed familiar.
‘Very familiar’ Lisa furrowed her eyebrows as she observed the box carefully. She is so curious and her heart says it otherwise.
Her hands began to tremble when an image appeared her mind.
The same red velvet box.
The bracelet.
Lisa shook her train of thoughts. It can’t be those. This can’t be. She bit her lower lip recalling that time.
“Stop being delusional, Lalisa. This might be something else,” Lisa said to her self and placed the box inside his drawer again. She was about to close the drawer but she halted and stared at the said box.
The urge to take it and look at the thing lying inside the said box became stronger as she stared at it. There is something about the box that’s telling her to take a look.
‘It won’t be that big if I take a look, right?’ she asked herself which of course, she answered, ‘Of course!’ and that made her realize how much of a creep she might look like right now.
She shook her head and hesitantly reached for the box. She breathed a sigh and took the box.
Her heart started to beat rapidly again when the box landed on her trembling hands.
“Alright. You’ll just have a look to have your own peace of mind, Lalisa.” She told herself and nodded firmly before slowly opening the box.
Lisa froze when the bright light shone and reflected to the jewelry inside.
The bracelet.
The pendant shone that blinded her. Goosebumps suddenly appeared on her delicate soft skin, body trembling, lips quivering and her eyes started to water.
Lisa trembling and sweaty hands took the pair of bracelet and lifted it out from the box. She placed the box on the bed and separated the two bracelets from each other.
The bracelet. The blue heart-shaped pendant and the silver heart-shaped metal that fitted the pendant. The bracelet swayed and she saw the engrved single letters at the back of each bracelets. L and J.
Lisa’s tears streamed down her cheeks and she sobbed as she looked at the pair of bracelets.
“I wanna give you something, baby.” Jungkook said then took out a red velvet box. He opened it that made her gasp.
It was a blue crystal heart-shaped pendant bracelet and another bracelet which fitted the said pendant on the middle.
“I want to give you this, as a sign of our long lasting love.” Jungkook said and took it from the box and placed it to her wrist.
“I will always love you, Lalisa Bruschweiler.”
“I love you too Jeon Jungkook and will always do.” Lisa said and teared up. She then kissed him lovingly which he responded with an equal affection and passion.
Their bracelet shone through the sunlight as their lips moved against each other.
Lisa covered her mouth and cried even harder.
On the contrary, Jungkook was so engrossed in his pile of work. Jungkook squintted his eyebrows as he looked at the files he was holding.
His eyes darkened and he stared fiercely at the said files before contacting his beloved secretaty.
“Sir?” Sehun’s anxiousness and nervousness was evident in his tone of voice. Of course, he would be scared. Jungkook would only call him if something dissatisfied him.
“What the fuck is this file? I told you to do your job properly, didn’t I?” Jungkook became scarier as he stated those. Sehun’s forehead started to sweat coldly and goosebumps appeared in his skin.
“I’m s-sorry, sir—”
“Arrange this. Do your job properly and fix this! Send this to me tomorrow morning. ASAP.” Jungkook growled that resounded his whole study room. He hung up frustratedly as he placed his phone down. He pinched the bridge of his nose and leaned back on his chair as he shut his eyes tightly.
After cooling down, he stood up and decided to look for Lisa instead. Her face is the only thing that could cheer him up at this point.
He walked outside the said room and headed to his room to go and look at her from the terrace. At this time of hour, Lisa usually goes to the garden to stare at her favorite flowers, Lilies.
He went inside silently and closed the door when he heard a sob coming from inside. It was a female’s sobs.
Lisa.
That alarmed him and so he hurriedly went inside only to be stiffened. He did not dare to walk close to her. He just stayed there, standing as he looked at her with wide eyes.
“Lisa, why are you—” he froze even more the moment she lifted her face to face him. His eyes went to the thing she was holding. The bracelet.
His eyes then darted to her teary ones.
“Lisa,” his throat went dry as well as his lips. He licked his lips before continuing but his throat did not seem to cooperate with him. He could not speak a word.
“How?” Lisa asked him, “H-How did this—so you were the owner, am I right?” Lisa asked him that made him silent and just stared at her.
“You were the owner of the hotel, right? You were the guy I saw at the small cottage that day,” Lisa stated but he remained silent, she nodded as she took his silence as a yes.
“Why?” her voice cracked as she asked him. He was taken aback by her question and his expression showed confusion.
“What?”
“Why? Why are you doing this?” Lisa cleared and swallowed her sob, “Why, Jungkook? Why are you doing all of this? Why are you even helping me?” Lisa’s tears streamed like a river to her cheeks.
“What do you mean, Lisa?” he asked as he gave her a perplexed look.
“You are supposed to hate me, Jungkook.” Lisa said that made him furrow his eyebrows.
“I don’t understand you,” he said then Lisa bit her lower lip and placed the bracelets on the bed and stood up.
“I divorced you, remember? I broke you. I broke everything—”
“That’s why you wanted me to hate you, is that it?” he asked that made her look at him. Jungkook took a step forward that alerted her and she recated immediately by stepping backwards.
“Stop. Don’t!” Lisa said to stop him which he did.
“Two years ago. You told me that you don’t love me anymore. That you fell out of love. Was that true?” he asked bringing back their past.
Lisa got silent after that and did not dare to meet his blazing gaze.
“Look at me, Lisa.” He demanded lowly and huskily but Lisa remained her head hanging low.
“Was that true?” he repeated his question again but Lisa still remained silent as she sobbed.
He took a step forward and so she took a step backwards. Jungkook was quick to strive longer and in one step, he was now standing in front of her without her realizing it.
He lifted his hand and placed it to her chin. He gently lifted her chin but she was stubborn.
“Look at me, baby.” as if the ‘baby’ made her obey in an instance.
Lisa lifted her gaze and looked at Jungkook.
“Answer me.” He again demanded her. She bit her lower lip ans sniffed and was about to lower her head, luckily, he was quick to hold her chin in place.
“Lily,” he called her that made her cry even more.
“Was all of what you said true?” he asked again. Lisa bit her lip again before answering.
“All of it…” Lisa swallowed a lump of saliva before continuing, “…was true.”
After her statement, Jungkook’s aura became dark and that left her utterly perplexed.
“You’re lying.” He said with his deep voice that sent shiver through her spine. She trembled when she saw how his eyes flickered with anger.
“W-What?” Lisa asked. Her eyes trembled as she stared deeply in his eyes. His eyes showed nothing but anger.
“Stop lying.” He said firmly that made her surprised at his sudden tone.
“I am not—”
“Stop Lisa. Stop lying.” He said and shook his head.
“I am not lying!” Lisa shouted angrily at him, he locked his eyes on her sharply as he clenched his jaw.
“I said stop, Lisa.” He said trying to remain calm and collected.
“No, you stop, Jungkook!” she said angrily before wiping her tears harshly from her eyes.
“Why are you even forcing that I am lying huh?! Can’t you just accept the fact that I don’t love you any—”
“I said shut up! Stop being a liar, Lisa!” he shouted back angrily that made her shocked. He never shouted like this to her not until when she broke him and decided to divorce him.
Lisa looked at him in horror that made his gaze soften.
“Lisa, I’m sorry—” he tried to reach for her but she refused his touch.
“No.” she refused and yanked his hands away that made him hurt.
