"Listen up!" Boden yells
"What's up chief?" Herrmann asks
"My daughter Y/N, she's starting this shift. She has just qualified as a firefighter and is filling peters spot on truck!" Boden orders
"You have a kid?" Cruz asks
"I bet she's hot!" Otis whispers
"Smoking" Cruz replies
"ANOTHER point! She is off limits! I know half of you in here are playboys and only want her to sleep with her! If I catch any of you flirting or trying something with her then you will be 5 foot deep! You hear me??" Boden yells
"Got it!" They all shout
"Dismissed" Boden orders
"Your so gonna try something aren't you?" Otis asks
"Please! Have you met me?" Cruz adds as they laugh
Your sitting outside the firehouse in your car. You have butterflies in your stomach. What if they didn't like you? You had worked so hard to get here. Your dad always told you it was in the Boden blood to become a firefighter. Your mom had left 4 years ago. She chose drugs and sleeping on the streets over you and your dad. You always blamed yourself and so did your dad. You got out of the car and walked into the firehouse
"Ahh you must be Y/N?" Stella asks
"Yeah that's me!" You answer
"Boden has told us great things about you!" Stella adds
Stella takes your around the firehouse. Introducing you to everyone you pass. You stop when someone catches your eye. He was the most beautiful man on the planet. He seemed sweet and genuine
"Who's that?" You asked pointing at this man
"Oh that's Casey, our truck captain" Stella explains
Well that's that idea out the window. Your dad always told you to never date your boss. He said that was the rules of 51. But surely rules were made to be broken once and a while.
"Earth to Y/N?" Stella says as she frantically waves her hand in front of your face
"Yeah sorry!" You reply
"Y/N!" Boden yells
"Hey dad!" You say as he gives you a hug
"That's chief to you now!" Boden says firmly
"So this is the famous Y/N Boden?" Casey asks as he stands right next to you
"Truck 81, ambulance 61, Single Vehicle RTC, Oakland street" The Intercom Says
"Ready for your first call?" Boden asks as you nod before running out
They all suit up and jump in the truck, you sit next to Stella. You arrive on scene to see a car that has collided into the side of a wall with its bonnet on fire.
"Stella get the hoses on that fire!" Casey orders as you take a closer look at the car
"No! Don't do that!" You yell
"Candidate?" Casey asks
"With all due respect Captain! Your going to boil them alive if you put the hoses on that! Not to mention how flammable the car is! It's an electric car! Even if we were the flash we couldn't get them out out in time!" You state
"Are you going against my judgement?" Casey asks slightly annoyed
"Yes! I am!" You shout
"Okay we'll have it your way!" Casey shouts angrily
They do it your way and get the victims out in half the time if you had done it Casey's way. You know your fucked. Your a candidate who just disagreed with your captain. Casey glares at you from the ambo and you load back up onto the truck.
"How was her first call?" Boden asks as Casey sighs
Casey fills Boden in on today's events
"Y/N Boden! Get your ass in here!" Boden yells
"Shit!" You mutter
You make your way into your dads office. He has the same facial expressions as they day you came home drunk at 5am. Your literally shaking and you open your mouth to speak but he stops you
"When do you disagree with someone of a higher rank than you?!" Boden yells
"Never" You mutter
"That's right! What the hell did you do that for! Out in the field today!" Boden shouts
"Casey was going to kill the couple in the car by putting out the fire on a god damn electric car! That's rule number 1 of firefighting you asses every situation! And Casey didn't do that! That would have been a murder case! So your welcome!" You scream
"Get out! I'm sick of the sight of you!" Boden yells as you walk out slowly
