"Seriously Mary. Outta all the people in the world you ended up fuckin with Carmen?" Lani laughed as she ate
"I don't even remember seeing that girl at the party. That's the crazy thing"
"Well I guess y'all did see each other and decided to y'all own lil scissor party" she laughed before taking a bite of her food
"Oh bitch fuck you. Shit up and eat cause I worked hard on that food"
Lani looked up from her food "oh you really cooked this?"
"Yeah. It's good ain it?"
The look on lani's face was beyond priceless and funny as hell
"I'm just fuckin witchu" I laughed "but I worked hard finding all the right shit Ari put on the list so I could get her to cook it. I feel like that was more work than her cooking it. Them culinary people don't play bout specific foods and seasonings."
"Oh Ari cooked it. Can you tell her I said thank you"
"It was nothing really. I was able to get a good laugh at her and Meechie going back and forth about the baby's apparent big ass head"
She shook her head "that shit ain no joke when that head start coming out. And I went natural so I felt everything. I still be feeling that pain just looking at her head"
"Yeah and you was tired as hell when I came to see her"
"Was? Bitch I'm exhausted now. All Kaleia do is cry and I'm here alone tryina clean up, fix bottles, do laundry, cook.. it's just so much. That's why I'm so thankful you came over here today"
"You know I gotchu girl" I let her know while I put the dishes up that I washed for her earlier
I knew lani was struggling and tired because she was basically a single mother right now since scooter seemed to care more about work than his family so I closed up the shop early, came over here and helped her out with Kaleia until she went to sleep, brought her something to eat and cleaned up so she could get a break
"Where the hell is scooter anyways? He should be off work by now"
She kissed her teeth "that boy at his mommas house right now. He FaceTimed me right before you got here so she could see him, talkin bout his momma needed him to do some stuff for him. And when he come home he get her for like an hour or two then go to sleep"
"So he can get off of work and go help his momma instead of coming home to his family and help with his newborn child?"
"Mj I choose to not argue. I'm just too tired"
"That's still fucked up milani. His priorities all fucked up and that's not cool. If this was gonna happen you could've just came to my damn house after you left the hospital and I would've been more help than your own nigga"
"It's cool mj. I just know that this is my first and ONLY child. I can not do this again"

I could hear the door close in the living room and eventually scooter came in the kitchen, sitting his keys down
"What's the conversation?" He asked and lani sighed
"Nothing"
"No! It's not nothjng. The conversation is why your family seem to be at the bottom of your to do list?"
Scooter looked at me some type of way

"Scooter I shouldn't have to be over here helping your wife clean and take care of a baby or a house that's not mine"

"She don't have to ask me to! Nigga a stranger on the street can look at lani right now and tell she's exhausted and need help. But you not here"

"Mj just.. please" lani begged but I wasn't hearing it
"Okay cool! Whatever. You WORK. But when you get off where are you?"
He looked at lani and she just looked down at her food
"Oh so y'all having conversations bout me?" He asked while sitting down beside her "say whatchu gotta say. Go ahead"
"It's not even lani so don't do that"
"So you the one with the issues?" He asked me
"Yeah. And I said what I said"
"What we got going on ain none of yo business"
"The minute I had to step in to help out with yAlL buSiNesS, it became mine"
"Help out with what?!" He started getting loud. "Ain shit to help out with. Kaleia what? A week old, and you talkin like she months old"
"And in the week alone the most lani slept was when I came over here today to help out with my niece while she took a nap"
"Mj... scooter. Y'all please let's not argue" lani pleaded and I sighed
"You know what. Only for you lani. But after today. I can't fuck witcho nigga nomore cause this ain cool and this should show you how he really feel"
"How I really feel about what? You tryina start some shit. Should've known yo ass was just as corny as them other people she been hangin round" he waved me off while walking out of he kitchen and Kaleia started to cry. Lani let out a breath while she got up, holding her stomach which she already complained about hurting earlier and went to go get her from her swing in the living room
"See this ain my nigga or my house do I'm not about to deal with this" I walked into the living room and grabbed my phone and keys seeing lani sitting on the chair holding Kaleia "I'm bout to go. Ima call you later"
"Thank you mj"
"Don't thank me. You know I gotchu" I told her before leaving and closed the door behind me

"I swear I can't stand scooter dirty, manipulative, evil, bitch ass. And lani need to wake up before he bring her down even more" I ranted to benji while I laid upside down in one of my chairs as he sat on the other one smoking a blunt. He looked over at me
" you really called me over here to vent bout a nigga I could care less about?"
I sat up correctly in the chair "no. I'm venting to you about the fact that your sister in law is in a mentally abusive relationship and she don't even wanna acknowledge it"
Benji just blew out smoke while looking at me and I sucked my teeth

"Look, ion fuck with scooter and I'm down to beat his ass but I'm not gone just blame him. Lani was trying so hard to prove a point that she let him set her up like this. That nigga knew what he was doing and as strong minded as lani always been, she let a nigga, a lame ass one, be her downfall"
"You right but we all love lani too much, no matter how mad y'all are at her"
"Me and lani go way back, before Kay came into the picture so yeah, ima always have love for her. That's my sister. But still wrong is wrong and she gone have to take accountability for the shit she did and said to people that actually cared about her"
" I think she learned that because she actually been on an apology spree. She even apologized to Bree and Dena"
Benji rose his eyebrow
"Yeah. And now all that's left is Kay but Kay standing on what she said"
"For the first time in forever" he shook his head
"I just want them to talk or something. We all need to get this shit together. Be cool how we all used to be"
"If Kay ain letting up then that shit dead"
"That's why you need to talk to Kay"

"Cause you know Kay listens to you"
Benji let out a laugh while hitting the blunt again
"Kay listen to who?"
"You. Don't do that"
"I love my baby but she only hear what she wanna hear. I could tell Kay to do something and she'll start running her mouth tellin me she grown as hell or that even her daddy don't tell her what to do. But lemme tell her some bout sex. She be quick to bust it open like a can of biscuits" he said with a straight face before looking over at me "some kfc biscuits sound good as fuck right now"
"Benji bye" I couldn't help but laugh
"Nah forreal though. Dip it in some of that gravy they put on the potatoes.. shit kinda nice" he told me while nodding his head then laughed as his phone rung. He reached in his pocket and pulled it out, answering it and FaceTime connected
"Hendrix.. whatchu doing witcho momma phone?" He asked and I laughed
"Hi daddy" I could hear Hendrix say and I poked out my bottom lip
"Awee my nephew sound so innocent"
"Wassup son" Benji smiled
"Daddy. I want shiken nuggets and fries. And apple juice"
"So you called me for some damn McDonalds" he asked and Hendrix started laughing
"You better get my nephew some shiken nuggets" I mocked how Hendrix said it and benji looked over at me then back at the phone
"Auntie jay gone getchu some McDonalds"
"Yayyyy!" He yelled and sounded like he was running
"Mommy. Mommy. Jay get me shiken nuggets mommy"
"Jay?" Karma asked "where you talk to jay- Hendrix! Why the hell you playing on my phone"
"Cause my son hungry" Benji told her and she sucker her teeth
"Hungry my ass. Your son just ate"
"Ima get my nephew some nuggets" I yelled for Kay to hear me
"See y'all got this boy spoiled as hell. Ima beat that damn chicken nuggets out his ass if he don't leave my phone alone"
"Touch my son and ima beatcho ass" Benji told her
"Whatever.. what time you leaving from over there?"
"I'm bout to leave in a minute"
"Okay... mj ima call you. After he leave"
"Okay" I replied
"The hell y'all gotta talk about while I'm not around"
"Grown woman shit" Kay told him and he made a face
"Bet. Witcho rude ass"
"I'm not rude.... I'll see you when you get home. I love you"
"I love you too" he spoke back before hanging up the phone and shook his head "my damn family"
"But y'all so perfect though... y'all remind me of the family on cocomelon"
Benji's smile went away and he threw one of the pillows at me
"Fuck you Mary" he cursed and I laughed, throwing it back
