does love hurt?

love is not supposed to hurt, is what i heard 

now i can't help but wonder what is this mental dance the two of us keep doing

does your love for me begin when i open my legs then end once they are closed? am i hurting because this isn't love at all? do i hurt because i am alone in love, because i was waiting for someone who was never there to catch me when i was falling?

making love to you was never supposed to leave me with so many unfamilar emotions and heartwrenching confusion

if love is not supposed to hurt, then why am i hurting like this?
