Song: Darte un beso by Prince Royce [Denisse Crosta Cover]

P.S Bold font is the translation.

...

After a long day at school, it was finally time to head back to the dorms.

Walking alongside Bakugo and his friends, you remained silent, just enjoying the presence of others. Ashido and Kaminari were talking about possibly recruiting someone to tutor them in math after the shit ton of homework Ectoplasm assigned.

On the side, Kirishima was showing Bakugo something on his phone, probably some hero news that they missed out on while being in school.

Next to you, Sero bumped your shoulder, nodding his head towards Bakugo. "Y/n, why don't you sing us something." It wasn't exactly a question, more like a suggestion. And even if he did just quietly say that to you, the Bakusquad must have bat ears because they all managed to hear Sero's words.

Clapping their hands together, the chaotic duo- Ashido and Kaminari- began to show you their puppy eyes, begging you to sing something- anything really! They just wanted to hear your voice.

It was one thing to hear it through a machine, and then another thing to hear it live.

Since you found out Bakugo was your soulmate, you had refrained from singing. Mostly from embarrassment. Before, you were just singing to your soulmate, a blank image in your head. But now, there was a face replacing the 'blank image' and you felt shy, knowing it was Bakugo.

Looking up to see what Bakugo had to say, he gave you a nod.

He wasn't your boss or keeper, you could do whatever the hell you wanted. But you were looking for some encouragement, and the nod was enough.

"Amarte como te amo es complicado

Pensar como te pienso es un pecado

Mirar como te miro está prohibido

Tocarte como quiero es un delito"

The group continued to walk ahead as they jumbled together, not wanting to miss a single thing coming from your mouth. Bakugo's eyebrows were furrowed in confusion, trying to understand what you were saying. Jokes on him- and the rest- they didn't seem to be fluent in the language.

"Yo solo quiero darte un beso

Y regalarte mis mañanas

Cantar para calmar tus miedos

Quiero que no te falte nada"

Originally walking with your hands clasped behind you back, you reached up to gently swipe your thumb across Bakugo's lips before returning to your previous position.

That action alone was enough to cause him to grumble and look away, a blush on his cheeks. Whatever you were saying must relate to what you just did and he disliked not knowing what you were saying.

"Falar en portugués

Aprender a hablar francés

O bajar la luna hasta tus pies"

Grinning at his reaction, you seemed to grow more confident as the lyrics flowed out of you freely. Looking away from Bakugo, the rest of the members were just as captivated by your voice.

Someone began to hum the chorus, joining your singing. Turning, it was Sero who was doing so, a knowing smile on his face as he winked at you.

"Yo solo quiero darte un beso

Llenarte con mi amor el alma

Llevarte a conocer el cielo

Quiero que no te falte nada"

As the song ended, they all applauded you. It was decided- it was obviously better to hear your voice in person than through a machine.

Before they could launch any questions about the song and what you were singing, your curiosity won as you spoke to Sero.

"¿Sabes español?" [You know Spanish?]

"Sí, mi mamá es de México y tu?" [Yes, my mom is from Mexico and you?]

Shrugging your shoulders, you gave him a small smile. "Aprendí el idioma. Tenía mucho tiempo libre y no duele aprender algo nuevo. Sin embargo, nunca he tenido el placer de hablar el idioma con otra persona." [I learned the language. I had a lot of free time and it never hurts to learn something new. Either way, I've never had the pleasure of speaking it with someone else.]

"Bueno, ahora me tienes. Podemos hablar en secreto sin que nadie nos comprenda." He gave you a wide grin, enjoying the fact that he had someone to speak his native language with. It was getting a bit lonely, having no one to speak Spanish with. It didn't help when he felt homesick, he missed his chaotic household and his mother's embrace. [Well, now you have me. We can talk in secret without anybody knowing.]

"Por eso le canté esta canción sabiendo que no entendería." [That's why I sang this song, knowing he wouldn't get it.]

"¿No quieres que sepa que lo amas?" There was a teasing tone to his words, a knowing look in his face as he raised an eyebrow pointedly. [You don't want him to know that you love him?]

You only shook your head, "Es muy pronto para hablar de amor. Solo al verlo tan feliz y relajado, no pude evitarlo." [It's too soon to talk about love. But just seeing him happy and relaxed, I couldn't help it.]

"En ese caso, juro no decirle de qué trata la canción. Sin embargo, viendo lo enojado que se ve, esto te va a costar." [In that case, I swear not to tell him what the song is about. However, based on how mad he looks, this is going to cost you.]

Turning to look at Bakugo, you noticed the pinched expression on his face, causing you and Sero to snicker. Which only made Bakugo even more pissed off.

"¿Cual es tu precio?" [What's your price?]

"Tienes que tomar mis turnos para cocinar." [You have to take my cooking shifts.]

Not bad, you thought as you nodded your head. "Eso no es tan malo mientras prometas no decírselo. No importa cuánto te moleste, promete que no dirás nada." [That's not so bad as long as you promise not to tell him. No matter how much he annoys you, promise to not say anything.]

"Lo prometo." [I promise.]

Wearing matching grins and feeling reassured, you both turned your attention back to the group who had been silent as they watched the exchange.

"It was in Spanish hu!" Ashido exclaimed as she wagged a pink finger in your direction, "Sneaky Y/n."

You shrugged unashamedly, having chosen the song in another language on purpose. Even without having to look at him, you could imagine the smirk on Sero's face, happy that he was the only one that really knows the truth.

"You know Japanese, Spanish and English?" Kirishima asked in an awed tone. He was barely remaining afloat in English, and yet here you were, fluently singing in another language.

"Yeah. When you're locked up, you either sit around and do nothing, or you pick up a book and learn something."

Bakugo mumbled under his breath, "Pikachu and Raccoon Eyes should do that."

However, Kaminari heard his comment. Offended, he pointed a finger at himself, "I've picked up a book before. Don't know about Mina though." He shrugged at the last part, leaving Ashido to sputter and punch the boy in the arm, a whine escaping Kaminari.

"Last time I checked, you were both at the bottom of the fucking class," Bakugo said, adding more fuel to the flame as Ashido pointedly looked at Kaminari, not caring that he was essentially talking shit about them both.

"See! The only books you pick up are those video game magazines!"

"No, I actually read books books. Plus, it's not my fault that the homework is never similar to the tests!"

"He has a point there," Kirishima piped in with Sero nodding in agreement. Bakugo merely rolled his eyes, clearly fed up with the idiots.

And to his rescue was the view of the dorms.

They began to walk ahead, with Bakugo taking a step back to walk next to you. The idiots were too caught up in their conversation to notice either way.

"Still want to hang out in your fucking room? You never explained why."

"Oh right! If you're not busy, I thought it would be nice to hang out, get to know each other and... stuff."

His eyes narrowed in suspicion, but he must admit that you had a point. He didn't even know that you spoke a third language. In fact, he barely knew anything about you.

"Fine, lead the way nerd."

Placing a hand out, he stopped and stared at you in confusion, wondering why you weren't walking ahead. That was until a blanket began to fly in your direction, landing on your outstretched hand.

"What the fuck."

Hugging the blanket close, you walked towards the door leading to the courtyard that was in the center of the building. "Maybe we can spend some time outside? I'm not the biggest fan of being locked in."

Shrugging, he followed you out the door. In the time that he's been at the dorms, he's never seen anybody voluntarily step outside on the courtyard. It was just some grass, nothing special about it.

"Why don't you like being indoors?"

Shaking the blanket, you gently placed it down and dropped your book bag on a corner, so the blanket wouldn't fly away. "I like being in the sun; after escaping Overhaul, I made a small promise to myself that I'll spend every minute I can outside. It's easy to appreciate something as simple as the sun when you've been locked away your entire life."

Understanable.

The weather was tolerable in Bakugo's opinion. It was still early enough where the sun was shining brightly above, casting a warm glow on his skin. It wasn't too hot either, where he would be sweating uncomfortably in his school uniform. Plus, there was a breeze going around. The only part that truly bothered him were the glass doors. Anybody that walked by would catch a glimpse of him like this, which sounded like the worst possible thing ever.

He preferred to stay in the comfort of his room, away from nosy eyes.

Understanding that in order to spend some time he was going to give up some privacy, he dropped down on the blanket, stretching his legs out as he leaned back on his arms.

"Now what?"

"How good are you at designing hero costumes?" The random question caught him off guard as he furrowed his brows.

"Why?"

Taking a sheet of paper out of your book bag, you hand it over for him to read. It's a hero costume application, your name and quirk written at the top, followed by a blank space for your hero name.

Aizawa Y/n. Quirk: Psionic. Hero name:______

"So you want my help then? Can't do this shit on your own?"

His words came out harsher than he intended but you didn't flinch away. Instead, you gave him a firm nod, confident in your decision to seek his wisdom.

"What, too much of a challenge? Can't design a decent costume? Hm, looks like I was wrong about you then." The way you spoke nonchalantly irked him, how can you insinuate that he sucked ass at designing. Have you seen his suit? It was easily better than everybody's in the class. He was talented like that.

Grumbling, he took a pencil out of his bag as he began to sketch something quick.

"Any in particular you want? Colors or support items?"

Moving positions, you were now laying down on your stomach, having a blank notebook in front of you, ready to sketch something so that Bakugo didn't do all the work. Pursing your lips, a slight frown was on your face. You never actually gave it much thought. Having the application in front of you suddenly made it much more real. This was a real, authentic hero costume.

If you were to do hero work, this is how people would identify you.

"Not really. Maybe purple and black? Dark colors would be preferable. Besides that, I have no idea, sorry. Go crazy though, I trust your taste."

Bakugo shook his head at you. How could you be speaking so lightly about it. His own hero costume design process was different- he had spent his entire childhood dreaming of his costume and when the time presented itself, he was more than ready with an awesome design. On the down low, he had maybe also asked his parents for an insight. But it was all still him.

It was a big deal.

The fact that you trust him with a big decision made him slightly nervous. He felt flattered, that you trust him enough to not come up with something hideous, but it also made you foolish. How could you trust him so easily? Whether soulmates or not, you were both strangers, classmates at most.

The undivided faith you had was refreshing, the way you blindly sought him out made him grin inside.

It wasn't the same from his side. Bakugo wasn't the type to rush into all of this- it wasn't his thing. Yeah okay, maybe in fighting scenarios he was a bit too hot-headed and would rush, but this was about his personal relationship with you.

Being soulmates wasn't something to approach lightly.

At one point, you would get together, share intimate moments together, get married- even have kids. His future included you, and fuck- deep down he was looking forward to it.

His thoughts were jumbled up with you being the main focus. Sighing, he tried to visualize a hero costume for you, sketching a costume that would look good on you and look good next to him.

Pausing his pencil, he stared at the page in horror.

He was subconsciously visualizing you next to him, fighting right by his side. Taking into account his own hero costume, he had drawn a similar 'X' on yours, that without a doubt, would connect you to him. Is that what he wanted? Is that what you wanted? Would it be such a bad idea to publicly announce the bond you both shared?

No, it was too much of a risk, he thought as he erased the mark, settling for a different design. Your costume was about to be fucking badass, just as awesome as his- not better but close enough.

While Bakugo focused on the application, you tried to come up with something on your own, but failed as your thoughts wandered. Being out here, soaking up the bright sun and laying with your soulmate, it felt surreal.

Back in the warehouse, as a mental distraction, you had entertained yourself with fantasies about your soulmate. What they looked like, who they were, what they liked, what type of person they were, etc.

But Bakugo...

He completely destroyed those fantasies. Set them on fire and watched them burn.

Because he was nothing like you imagined. And you were glad about it.

From the moment he first spoke, snarling those words in anger and a 'I'm-better-than-all-of-you' confidence, you had been intrigued. Everybody around was pretty passive, very charismatic and polite.

But him?

He reminded you of a gremlin, or a troll. A very angry troll.

You shouldn't want a gremlin as a soulmate, but their confidence? Their attitude? Their passion? It left you in awe. You liked the way he captured everybody's attention without trying. You liked how he stood his ground. You liked how his eyes narrowed in a challenging way.

He had a goal. A purpose. Something to look forward to.

And you wanted something like that.

That was him. He was full of passion, of courage. He was driven by a particular will, something you lacked. And you understood then, that this boy would help you feel something.

Placing down your pencil, you instead leaned on the palm of your hand, watching the boy work. His face was scrunched up in concentration, a wrinkle on his forehead as his tongue slightly stuck out of his mouth. When he wasn't snarling or scowling, Bakugo actually looked pretty calm... and handsome.

The last thought set your cheeks on fire, but you couldn't look away.

Unknowingly, a few members from Class 2-A were passing by, heading to the common room to work on some homework, only to pause when they spotted you both outside. Uraraka nodded towards the courtyard, a curious tint to her eyes.

"Who would've have thought that Bakugo had a soulmate. And who would've imagined that his soulmate would be someone as kind and patient as Y/n."

Todoroki's eyes glanced away from the sight, turning his head to look at his green haired friend. "Midoriya, did you know he had a soulmate?"

Puffing his cheeks up, he nodded as his shoulders sagged. "I've known since the bond appeared. I always wondered who Bakugo's match would be."

They turned the corner, making sure to be out of Bakugo's line of sight. But from their position, they still had a clear view. Bakugo reached forward to flick your forehead, causing you to burst out laughing as he grumbled, shoving a piece of paper in your face. They had never seen Bakugo look so... comfortable with someone. There was no tension in his posture, no anger reflected in his eyes.

Midoriya had never seen you look so carefree. The few times he's visited you, your body was rigid with discomfort, feeling out of place. But as you nodded to whatever Bakugo was saying, a smile gracing your lips, you finally seemed at home.

He took out his phone to take a few pictures of you both, as your friend (maybe best friend) it was his duty to capture sweet moments like this. Making a mental note to send it to you later, he beckoned his friends towards the common room, "Let's stop staring now."

Sitting up and fixing your skirt, making sure to not flash Bakugo, you leaned forward as he began coloring in the sketch he made. It was better than anything you would've come up with. After briefly explaining what your quirk was, and realizing that you had about little to no weaknesses, he stuck to basic support items such as pockets for first aid and any weapons of your choice.

Similar to your previous mask, you felt more comfortable with something covering your face and so he made sure to include a type of mask that protected you against gases and simultaneously changed your voice.

"Besides anger being your default emotion and that your hero name is Ground Zero, there's not much that I know about you."

Briefly glancing up from the sketch, he stared at you for a second before focusing again.

"I'm not angry all the fucking time. Sometimes these idiots just get on my nerves."

"Right," you drawl out sarcastically. "Don't worry, I won't tell them that you actually care about them."

He tsk-ed in annoyance, not bothering to look up, already picturing the smug look on your face.

"My birthday is on April 20th, I'm an only child and my parents are fashion designers. Many claim I look like the old hag which is pretty fucking offensive to me because she's annoying as fuck. My favorite food is probably spicy curry, emphasis on the spicy part. I'm going to be the number one hero, better than All Might himself. Early in my first year, I realized I was losing my hearing. During my free time, I enjoy rock climbing and like you, I prefer being outdoors. Even though I like spicy food, the only sweet stuff I can tolerate is strawberries. Anything else?"

Grinning, you made a mental note of everything he said. This wasn't so bad, you thought you were going to have to squeeze the information out of him.

"I'm willing to take whatever you give me Cherry."

"What's up with the nickname? I get that your sister says it because of my eyes, but you?"

Leaning back on your shoulders, you glanced up at the sky, noticing how the sun was going to be setting soon. "Cherry like the fruit makes sense. But it's also like 'cherry bombs' you know? Those round, red powerful fireworks? I think it fits."

"My nickname is better."

"Right, because calling me Scarface based on the scars on my eyes is super sweet."

Sputtering, he paused to stare at you with wide eyes, afraid that he had actually hit a nerve with it. But then he caught the shit-eating grin on your face.

"Really Katsuki, I'm not going to go cry about it. I probably would have punched anybody else who dared call me that, but I know you don't mean it in a rude way."

Thankfulness bloomed in his chest as he nodded. There was a question that was making him hesitant, but he decided to ask you either way. "What's the story behind the scars?"

The change in your attitude was painfully obvious. Gone was the carefree posture you had as you visibly shifted away from him, almost like he had physically struck you. Silence followed his question as you purposely looked away from him. "It's... not the best memory. I'll tell you someday, just not right now... please."

Whatever it was, it clearly weighed heavily on you and Bakugo knew better than to pressure you into sharing, not after everything you've been through. Instead, he nodded and dropped the topic.

After minutes of comfortable silence, fingers brushed the side of his jaw as your hand cupped the side of his face. Sitting rigidly, he waited to see what you would do. Still looking down at the paper on his lap, he felt you shift forward from your sitting position.

Soft lips touched his cheek- they lingered there for a second or maybe it was two, who knows.

The only thing Bakugo knows is that he may or not may be on fire based on how hot his body felt. The back of his neck, along with the tip of his ears, were flushing red at the kiss you gave him.

"Thank you Katsuki," the words were softly spoken by his ear before you sat back in your original position.

Coughing to clear his throat- and get a grip on his emotions- he responded, thankful that his voice didn't crack. "Don't mention it Scar." His gaze was averted, too flustered to even look at you, but from the corner of his eye, he could see the soft smile on your face which set his body ablaze again.

Never would he have imagined someone looking at him like that- like they actually want him and are happy with him.

Having a soulmate may have been the best thing that's ever happened to him.

...

Once the sun began to set, you both parted ways, each heading in opposite directions. But you considered the day a successful one, in the end you managed to learn some new things about Bakugo, which was exactly what you were looking forward to.

As time passed by, you found yourself back in the common room after showering and relaxing in your own room, this time sitting with Tokoyami. The boy was there doing some homework with his headphones on, and after gaining some courage, you brought your own work and took a seat across from him.

The conversation flowed naturally between you both, in which Tokoyami had the habit of knowing boundaries and not overstepping. He asked more about battle strategies, asking you for ideas on how to increase his hand-to-hand knowledge after the eventful training exercise.

The once empty common room was beginning to bristle with life, shattering the quiet atmosphere that enclosed you both.

With the pile of bodies coming in, Tokoyami bid you farewell as he left the room, thanking you for your help and reminding you that you can always come to him for any help.

Standing up and stretching your body, you picked up your notebooks, deciding that maybe you should head back into your room as well. Pushing the chair back in, you turned ready to head up to your room.

As you walked across the room, you glanced up to greet whoever was there already, "Hey guys," you said towards the Bakusquad who were each (except for Bakugo) grinning widely.

"Y/N! Come hang out with us!" Sero exclaimed, in which the rest of the members excitedly nodded and beckoned you to sit with them.

Shrugging, you thought why not?

Placing your stuff on the coffee table in the middle, Kirishima moved to the side, leaving a space for you to sit between him and Bakugo. You glanced at the blond boy, raising an eyebrow.

He merely nodded, crossing his arms.

Eagerly, you took a seat next to him. "What are you guys up to?"

"We were thinking a movie, some bonding time."

"What movie? I've watched a couple, but that's about it."

Kaminari gasped almost like he was offended. "Just a couple? Oh man, we really have to catch you up."

"Dude lets go get snacks."

Kirishima and Sero stood up, heading towards the kitchen to grab said snacks. Ashido claimed that blankets were a requirement and headed up to her room to grab the extras that she had. She ended up stumbling into other classmates, "Hey Uraraka! Deku! We're about to do a movie night, invite the rest!"

And just like that, the rest of the class ventured down with their blankets and pillows, excited for some bonding time.

"What movie?"

"Horror! I want to see who gets spooked out the most."

"We both know you can't handle that Denki."

"Comedy? Something lighthearted?"

"Or the classics, a.k.a the Disney movies duh."

"Let's hold a voting session, everybody who wants horror, raise your hands. Okay, now comedy? Okay, now Disney. Looks like the class went for the third option."

Uraraka and Ashido high fived each other in victory. While they debated what movie specifically, you grabbed the blanket Ashido, or Mina she insisted you called her, gave you and brought it up to your chin, getting comfortable.

Somebody tugged the blanket, pulling it over their body and you turned to see Bakugo staring ahead, a small smile on his face.

You leaned in, whispering lowly so that nobody could hear the conversation. "Share the blanket?"

Gold star Y/n, bold as fuck of you.

Bakugo shrugged his shoulder, trying to be nonchalant about the entire ordeal. Still, he lifted his arm up so that you can nestle of his side and covered you both with the blanket.

The rest of the class settled into their respective spots, in which Deku and Todoroki shared the couch with you both.

The lights were turned off, with the only light coming from the t.v in the common room, displaying a movie that started with a kid attending an illegal robot fight and getting rescued by his brother?

It seemed interesting enough, and you paid attention eagerly, excited by the swirl of colors.

Bakugo had seen this movie before, so his attention wasn't on the screen but on you.

He watched the way your expression changed as the movie scenes played out, ranging from interest to shock and betrayal, to laughter and understanding. The way you scrunched your nose, the way your eyelashes softly touched your cheeks, the way you bit your lip as you got into the movie.

It was all so damn intriguing.

He tapped your arm softly, making you look up from the tv. "What's up? Never have I wanted to hug Baymax so badly."

"After the Sports Festival," he began to say. "Let me take you out on a date."

"Really?" You couldn't even conceal the excitement in your voice. The Sports Festival was just two weeks away, and as the biggest event for U.A, there was no way Aizawa would allow you both to leave campus. But after the event, there would be no reason to say no.

He nodded, "All you need to worry about is being there."

"In that case," you leaned in closer to him, to the point where he can feel your warm breath against his skin. "I would love to go on a date with you Katsuki." The way his name rolled off your lips in that sweet tone drove him insane.

Pinching your side for being cheeky, he nodded, "It's a date then Y/n."

Your breath hitched hearing him say your name in a low tone. It was rare for him to use your given name, marking this the second time ever, but what made it different was the dangerous tone to it, like he was a predator ready to eat his prey.

And you were the prey.

It felt like liquid fire was poured into your veins, an intoxicating dose of something. Sitting in the dark, away from everybody's eyes, you became aware of the way you were cuddled against him, the way your body melted against his, the touch of his skin against yours.

Oh god, you thought as you tried to focus on the movie again.

The smirk that glistened from the t.v light showed that Bakugo knew exactly how you were feeling.

What a tease.

Two can play at that game.
