"He's terrifying! Bit teeth! At least 10 feet tall!"
I nod absently at the villager, "And he's eating your chickens, sure its not just a wolf? They are common in this area" I sigh
"A wolf doesn't fly away!" He yelled
"Fine fine. I'll check out this 'Demon'. If it is a demon I'll take care of it for...ill make you a deal and say 3 pounds of cured meat. I know you can't PAY my usually rate"
"Thank you!" He cried
"Yeah yeah, now take me to this coop" I roll my eyes.
It was a basic farmers coop. Nothing too interesting. I search for any clues until I see a bright red feather contrasting those of the rest of the flock.
"Any chance you had a red chicken in this coop?" I examine it. By size alone it would need to be a big bird
"No" the man breathed staring at the feather also noting its size.
"Good, that's all I needed" I start towards the woods
"Wait! What are you-"
"I'll be back by tomorrow if not sundown" I wave him off boredly looking for the right tree.
Pine, sap, connected with the feather and finally tied by a strand of my hair that I run my fingers across to lengthen.
"Spirits guide me to whom has lost this feather" the mass rose into the air and I wrapped the other end of my hair around my finger to follow it as it lead me away.
I've only gone a mile when the clump finally stopped and fell back into my hands.
"Where are you?" I mumble to myself looking around
A clawed hand wrapped around my neck threateningly, "The old man got a demon hunter? I knew I should have killed him" the voice mused
"Don't lump me in with that uneducated bunch" I scoff leaning my head back to face the demon head on, "Now are you going to give me your name or shall I just call you chicken breathe?" I jab at his pride
"I am Keigo, demon of the skys. Better known as Hawks" he chuckled darkly
"And you can call me Master" I smirk seeing his face fall in confusion, "Who whos name i am given be mine" I bite my tongue before I bite his hand hard enough to draw blood. I quickly lick the wound with my own creating a blood seal.
The demon yelped pulling away from me all too late. He snarled gripping his hand, "ill fucking kill you for that!"
"You were planning on killing me anyway" I roll my eyes wiping away any access blood from my face, "And if you do now you'll die as well"
"Then I'll meet you in hell" he hissed
"Slow on the uptake huh buddy? I die you are gone" I fix my cloak and grimace at the blood that dripped onto my nice white blouse
"Who are you!"
I finally turn my full attention to the demon who hunched over his hand holding it to his chest. With the other hand holding on the new collar around his neck. He was a lower level demon but still powerful. His crimson wings were half splayed out in an attempt to intimidate. His black horns had the more classical S shape making he wasn't born a demon.
That's not to mention his physic or general beauty. He has black avian markings around his eyes and a pair of light markings on his cheek bones.
This is an angel turned demon, how interesting.
"You can refer to me as (Y/N) the sorceress"
"Well (Y/N) you can fuck o-"
"I think I like master better" I yawn feeling tired from walking
"Fuck you!" He took flight.
I smile and watch as the chain slowly materializes as he gains distance until it fully appears and grows taught. The chain connecting through my chest to wrap around my heart. It didn't take long for him to try to tug but my soul acts as an anchor causing no harm to me.
The chain disappeared as he came back looking annoyed. Instead of it looking intimidating though it reminded me of a child whom I denied the ability to play ball with his friends.
"Its not fair! You are a human! You can't use fae magic" he whined
"No one said I couldn't" i hum heading back towards the village
"Uh yeah! The ancient texts have rules. If you are a sorceress whom do you dirive your power from huh? I know people! People high up the ladder!" He ranted following me
"Myself" I hum stepping over a root suppressing a laugh hearing him stumble over it
"You can't be your own power source" He clicked his tongue
I sigh while he continued to complain and rant. Once we got close to the village I finally snapped.
"Stitch that which does not stop" I smile hearing a new muffled sound feeling a sudden bliss of near silence.
Quickly followed by a shrill scream from the farmer.
"Shut it" I summon the chain showing more control over the demon, "See? Harmless. Get me my meat"
The farmer thanked me running to his home.
A talon tapped my shoulder and I glared at the bird like idiot beside me, "You done with the squawkin?"
He nodded a hand poking at the stitches that sewed his mouth shut.
"Undo the binding thread" I sigh letting the string disappear.
"Meat?"
"For your capture I am getting cured meat" I shrug
He scoffed grumbling.
I spent my day back on the road. Traveling from town to town. Usually it was peacful...until now.
"How much farther?? Its almost dusk!" Keigo groaned
"We can nap here" I sigh just wanting him to shut up.
"Nap? You mean sleep?" He confirmed
"Only for 4 hours. Then we have to get moving" I start climbing up a nearby tree.
He had no issues flying up to a different branch, "so this whole binding thing, what did it mean"
"You protect me and source my power. Now sleep. We can't stay here for long"
Hawks POV
I wake up to something wet landing on my cheek. I Crack open an eye to see a black creature. It's skin was pitch black and had teeth fully exposed with a stark white contrast. It drooled over me eyes locked on (Y/N).
"Hey uh, excuse me" I wipe at the drool on my cheek, "Can you go salivate somewhere else?"
It hissed at me, its long blackened hair like tendrils of mist.
I put a wing between its line of sight to (Y/N), "Uh-huh yeah see, when I ask a question its less of a question and more of a command. That being said" I claw at the being making it shriek as it ran off into the trees, "Fuck off"
I hear a thud and notice (Y/N) already back on the ground, "Come on bird boy"
"1 I'm not a bird and 2 I just saved your ass" I glide down
"You have avian like eyes and I own you so I can call you whatever the fuck i want. Also you saving me is just you saving yourself" she rolled her eyes already starting back on the trail.
My body feels exhausted...but im a demon. I technically don't need to sleep. Its odd. This must be from the binding. Does it mean she is tired? Damn my feet hurt. I check my feet but I'm fine.
Shit I feel her pain. You have got to be fucking kidding me. I get ahead of her and crouch, "Hop on my back"
"What?" She raised a brow
"Hop on my back, ill carry you"
She finally hopped on letting me pack her. God now I'm a glorified pack mule. Fml.
"So why did you turn demon?"
"Trusted the wrong people" more like person, that burnt nugget
"An angel fell that easily?"
"Its complicated" I sigh thinking back. I can't believe I took the fall still. It's a miracle my wings remained even though they are now crimson.
I felt something placed infront of my lips, "Jerky?" She offered
"Im a demon, I don't need to eat"
"Its yummy though" she ran it across my bottom lip.
I roll my eyes and eat it not wanting to drop her if I used my hands. The jerky was delicious, it's been forever since I've had food.
Once we made it to a city the chain appeared again as she lead me around. Cityfolk glared as we walked. Its amazing how just my existence can piss so many people off.
I was revoling in it until we stopped infront of a church.
"Uh... can I even go in there?"
"Have you spilled blood on holy ground?" She asked randomly
"No?"
"Then you can enter" she marched forward.
Wait shit I can't remember! "What if I have?" I panic
"Then you'll burst into flames" she smirked
That's not something to fucking smirk about!!! She tugged me in while I tried to resist. With one big tug I was dragged forward with a yelp hitting the floor past the threshold, "Oh god! The Humanity! I-..." im ok. I'm perfectly fine, "Im cool I guess" I shrug getting up to my feet.
"Done with your theatrics?"
I shrug knowing I'm honestly probably not. Pressing onward she talked to the priest while I chilled on a pew and picked my teeth. I'm so damn tired. Why is she bothering to talk to this guy when she's obviously exhausted?
Fuck, nope I can't deal with this. I get off my ass and come up behind her enjoying the fearful look on the priests face as I got closer.
"Keigo, what the hell do you want" she rubbed her brows
"Before we do... whatever this is. let's crash" I rest my head on her shoulder
"Father Bayfield, i will take care of this matter tonight. I agree that i was unable to rest on my journey"
"Whatever you need, as long a you take care of that well" the priest nodded
I mockingly stick out my tongue while she turned to leave before following after her.
She lead me to an inn, "1 room please"
"1?" I question
"Only I need to sleep so I'm not going to pay for another room for you"
I scoff rolling my eyes. Once we get in the room she layed down in bed. I could feel my body relax with hers.
"What were you and the priest talking about?"
"I'll get 6 hours" she warned
I huff lightly shutting up. A few minutes later I hear a sigh.
"Quit pacing" she complained, "You're making me nervous"
"What am I supposed to do?"
"Come lay down"
I sigh and crawl onto the bed but remember just how small it is, "I can't. You take up the whole thing"
She grabbed me by the back of the neck pulling me in until I layed on top of her. I slowly try to relax until she wrapped her arms around my head on her chest when I completely melted.
I feel so warm, is that a shiver running down my spine? I wrap my arms around her and my stomach feels...fluttery? Am I going to puke? I can't tell what this all means. I snuggle closer getting comfortable as her legs tangled with mine before she fell asleep.
