You used to be her favorite - she'd even keep her sisters from harming you. Bela would always find you and tell you about her day or just hold you against her. All of that stopped when a new maid arrived and caught her eye. It broke your heart, but you kept quiet. The sound of buzzing filled the room and you froze, setting the plate you had been cleaning down as it stopped behind you. Your heart began to race as you were turned around and came face to face with Daniela. Swallowing the lump in your throat, you hung your head and waited for her to attack you.
"Lady Daniela..." You whispered a greeting, flinching when she moved her sickle.
"Daniela!" Cassandra's voice rang out before she too entered the kitchen. "There you are. Bela's being annoying with her new maid."
You flinched slightly when she said that, earning their attention - much to your dismay. Their giggles soon filled the air and your heart sunk, figuring they'd make fun of you for falling for their sister like the other maids did. Daniela's sickle pressed under your chin, forcing you to look up or risk getting injured.
"Weren't you her plaything for the longest time?" She cooed, smiling at you.
"I was, lady Daniela." You whispered, feeling your throat become tight as you tried to fight your emotions. "She has a new plaything now so, I guess I'm fair game."
"I guess so." Cassandra purred; a lot closer than you thought she'd be.
In the blink of an eye, you were in the cellar. That was the last thing you remembered. You didn't pass out or anything, you just blocked out what was happening to you. After what felt like hours, you were released to tend to your wounds. As you made your way to your room, you noticed Bela's new maiden — Kate — give you a knowing smirk as she walked past you.
Deciding to ignore her, you slipped into your room and started treating your wounds, letting silent tears fall down your cheeks. Buzzing soon approached your room and a soft groan left you, causing you to shut your bathroom door silently to hopefully let the girls know you were doing as they instructed. As you finished bandaging your last wound, the door to your bathroom opened and you locked eyes with Bela.
Your gaze immediately dropped to the ground, a forced smile on your face as you greeted her. "Lady Bela... Is there something you need?"
She was silent as she stared at you. Deciding that if she truly needed something she would've said it by now, you left your bathroom and changed into a new outfit. You felt her eyes on you the entire time and you desperately wanted to turn and hug her, but that wouldn't change anything.
"Congratulations on your new maid, lady Bela. She seems great." You stated with another forced smile. "I should go finish my chores."
With that, you left the vampire in your room. A few hours of agonizing cleaning later and you had successfully finished your chores. On your way back to your room, you noticed Bela waiting outside of it and your gaze fell. Upon reaching your room, you were pinned to the wall by Bela, her eyes glaring down at you.
"What did you do?" She hissed, her nails digging into your already injured arms.
You let out a pained scream but she didn't stop, not until tears started to fall down your cheeks. "I-I don't know what you're talking about, lady Bela! I-I didn't d-do anything except finish my ch-chores I swear!"
When she let you go, you quickly entered your room and shut the door, leaning against it as you began to sob. Pain shot through your body, making you realize that your stitches had ripped due to her grip. You bit your lower lip to hold in a scream of pain, ignoring the blood from how hard you bit down. Making your way to the bathroom, you removed the bandages on your arms and carefully removed the stitches.
Once your arms were stitched and bandaged again, you crawled into bed and curled up, quietly sobbing into your pillow. Your fingers curled and clutched at the sheets tightly as a way to distract from the pain all over your body, distracting you enough that you didn't hear your door quietly opening. Quiet footsteps made their way to you and you sat up immediately, your heart stopping when you noticed Bela.
"I didn't mean to hurt you..." She whispered, frowning at your tearstained face.
"It's fine, lady Bela... I'm fair game now. The other maids will be glad to know I won't get any special treatment anymore."
With that, you laid down again and closed your eyes, trying to fall asleep. That was hard to accomplish with her staring at you. You shifted slightly to look at her, noticing her blank expression.
"It's okay, really, lady Bela. Don't worry, I'll fade into the background of the other maids. You have someone else now." Her face hardened when you said that, confusing you slightly but when she left, you felt a wave of relief wash over you.
The moment your door shut, you laid down and shut your eyes. As you were falling asleep, screams came from the cellar and you shivered, curling up more before finally falling asleep.
