You didn't get sick often and your girlfriend knew that. She'd never seen you sick before — no one in the castle had. So, when you suddenly stopped eating as much, they all grew worried. At first you brushed it off, saying that you simply weren't hungry — they let it slide since there had been days where you just genuinely weren't hungry and would snack throughout the day so they weren't overbearing.
This time was different — it lasted longer. And when you woke up early one morning, rushing to the bathroom and accidentally waking Bela, you knew you couldn't hide it anymore. You were sick, and now your girlfriend knew. After you were finished in the bathroom, a cold hand was pressed against your forehead while the other held you in place. A soft whine left you as she pulled you back to bed with a frown.
"I fucking knew something was wrong." She muttered, making you lay down.
"Babe—."
"No, you stay here. I'm going to tell mother so she can tell me how to take care of you." Bela sighed, placing a kiss on your forehead. "I'll be right back."
You quietly sat up, letting out a yawn. The moment you were about to get out of bed, Cassandra and Daniela appeared the room, crossing their arms over their chests. Lazily, your gaze traveled up to lock onto their faces, a quiet sigh passing your lips.
"I just want to take a shower," You whined, trying to stand up only to have them gently push you back down on the bed. "Cass! Dani!"
"Not until Bela comes back." They replied in unison, earning a frustrated groan from you.
You flopped onto the bed, glaring up at the ceiling and muttering stupid overbearing vampires. The girls giggled before sitting next to you, Cassandra placing her hand on your burning forehead. Immediately, you moved closer towards her, craving the coldness of her touch to bring your fever down.
Bela returned shortly after, her sisters leaving to go help their mother order the maids around. Your [E/C] eyes landed on her gold ones and you immediately lifted your arms, making grabby hands at her. She helped you to your feet and held you close, glancing at the bathroom.
"Take a bath with me." You whined, nuzzling into her neck.
"You're so adorable when you're sick." She mumbled, leading you to the bathroom.
Once you two were in there, she started running the water and grabbed towels for you both, closing the door shortly after. You were at her side immediately, huddling into her like she would normally do to you for warmth. She let out a quiet laugh before prying you off of her so she can undress you.
"Geez, buy me dinner first." You complained, allowing her to undress you.
She rolled her eyes at you before kissing your cheek once your clothes were on the floor. Her eyes scanned over your body before she began undressing, not letting you help her.
"This isn't fair," You whined, pouting at her. "I wanna help you."
"No, you need to save your energy." She sighed, letting her clothes pool at her feet.
Once she stopped the water, she stepped into the tub and sat down, holding a hand out to you. You gladly took her hand and stepped in, sitting between her legs before leaning against her, letting out a relieved sigh. One arm wrapped around your waist as she placed gentle kisses along your shoulder, her other hand moving to hold yours.
"Why didn't you tell me?" She asked quietly, her thumb brushing over your skin.
"I was hoping it wouldn't last more than a day." You whispered, glancing at her as she hummed at your response.
"Well, now I get to take care of you."
You giggled quietly, leaning into her touch more as she trailed her kisses up your neck and along your jaw, planting one final kiss on your cheek. A bright smile resided on your face as you both leaned back, you immediately nuzzling into her neck. She began to hum softly, moving the arm around your waist to rub your side gently as a content sigh left your lips.
'I could get used to this.'
A soft yawn left you, catching the vampire's attention and causing her to start washing you up. Your head turned lazily to plant a kiss on her neck as she did so, offering her a sleepy smile.
"Have I ever told you how much I love you?" You asked quietly, as if it was a secret only she was allowed to know.
"Only every day, my love. But I do enjoy hearing it." She mused, sitting you up so she could wash your back.
"You're so good to me," You mumbled, letting her rinse you off. "You read to me, feed me, bathe me when I'm sick... Your kisses are nice and I really like when you ea—."
"Don't." She warned, pressing a kiss to your jaw. "You're sick and if you get me excited, you're going to be bedridden once you're no longer sick."
You squirmed slightly, letting out a soft whine before complying. Once she had deemed you calm enough, she let you wash her up, warning you a couple of times if your hands would linger someplace. After you were both out of the bath and wrapped in towels, she led you out of the bathroom and helped you get dressed, ignoring your cries for cuddles until you were both properly dressed.
"I'm going to get you some soup, after you eat that, then we can cuddle." She ordered, sitting you on the bed.
"But I want them now." You pouted, holding her hands. "Can't the soup wait?"
"Do you want to be sick for even longer? I can't do anything you enjoy if you're sick."
That made you shut up, your pout intensifying as she kissed your cheek and left the room. With a soft groan, you leaned against the headboard, closing your eyes slowly the heavier they got. Once the sound of footsteps reached your ears, you slowly opened your eyes, watching Bela sit next to you.
"Babe, just cuddle me."
"Eat first, you've barely ate at all lately."
"Feed me then." You complained, smiling when she simply rolled her eyes.
Shortly after she fed you, Cassandra appeared and took the bowl, letting Bela get into bed with you. You quickly curled into her, burying your face in her neck and wrapping your arms around her securely, legs quickly entangling with hers. Your girlfriend laughed quietly, rubbing circles on your back as she rested her chin on your head.
"Rest well, my love." She whispered as your eyes shut, your body pressing against hers more. "I love you."
"I love you too, Bela." You whispered before falling asleep in her arms, happily taking in her coldness.
