You hummed softly as you strolled through the halls of castle Dimitrescu, your nose burrowed in the book you were holding. Bela had thrown it at you once she finished reading it and had grumbled something about a stupid ending which had piqued your interest. As you read, the sound of buzzing reached you before the screams of help did, causing a smile to tug at your lips.
'Ah, I see one of the sisters grew bored. Probably Daniela.'
Their mother had given them a challenge — one you and the lady found very humorous — figure out which one would crack last. You and your girlfriend's mother had even placed bets on who it would be. You knew it was going to be Bela but, lady Dimitrescu gave Cassandra the benefit of the doubt.
The sound of buzzing multiplied and your smile grew wider. That was until it stopped behind you and a pair of cold arms wrapped around your waist. A different smile took over your features as your girlfriend forced you to a halt by planting her feet and tightening her grip on you, forcing you to stumble back into her and giving her full access to bury her face in your neck.
"I can't do this anymore, I'm going insane." Cassandra whined into your neck, nuzzling into you more.
"Going, dear?" You mused, ignoring the hiss from your girlfriend.
"I'll bite you."
"Kinky."
"Gross." The voices of the other two sounded out in unison, making you jump slightly in your girlfriend's embrace.
Your face began to heat up when Cassandra giggled and nipped at your skin, her cold hands slipping under your shirt and making you shriek. The giggles of the other two caused you to jump away from Cassandra, pointing an accusatory finger at the three of them.
"Feral children! You three planned this!"
"Duh." Daniela grumbled, her arms crossing over her chest. "We know you and mother placed bets on who would win."
"It's just a little fun." You laughed, not being phased by your girlfriend pulling you into her arms yet again.
'So fucking needy. It's cute.'
"It's mean, you know we get bored easily." Bela huffed, only slightly surprising you that she said it instead of one of the others.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry. Now continue on with the challenge! The winner gets a prize." You beamed, ignoring the low growl from Cassandra.
The other two immediately brightened and took off, leaving you alone in the hallway with your girlfriend. Your [E/C] eyes shifted to gaze into her gold ones and before you could say anything, her lips were on yours. You melted into the kiss immediately, your arms wrapping around her neck as she backed you against the wall, one arm wrapped around your waist and the other planting her hand on the wall next to your head.
The kiss grew needy once your back hit the wall, her sharp nails digging into the skin on your waist as she pulled you closer, breaking the kiss when you let out a soft whine. Your face was burning up, causing you to immediately bury it against Cassandra, ignoring the giggle coming from her as you did so.
"We've done a lot more than that but me kissing you is what makes you this flustered?"
"Don't tease me," You huffed, lightly hitting her shoulder before looking at her. "What should we do for our anniversary?"
You smiled up at her dreamily, planting soft kisses on her jaw before you noticed her tense, the smile on your face immediately disappearing. Your face contorted into a look of worry as you leaned against the wall, hands cupping either side of Cassandra's face as her eyes refused to meet yours.
"I'm actually... busy... tomorrow." She muttered, looking down to avoid seeing your broken face.
You stared at her, stunned for a moment. Then a smile broke out on your face as you lifted her head so she could see you, connecting your lips again for a brief moment.
"It's okay, dear." 'No it's not.' "I understand. How about the day after then, hm?"
The look in her eyes told you she was hesitant to accept your offer and that broke your heart, making you wonder why she was suddenly so secretive towards you. You didn't have long to think about it before she nodded and pulled you close again, grinning like the Cheshire cat.
"How about I make it up to you today too?" Cassandra purred, her hands roaming up your sides as her eyes stared at you in lustful hunger.
"That kiss got you very excited." You muttered, glancing down the hall before nodding.
"It wasn't just the kiss," She hummed, picking you up with ease and carrying you to your shared room. "I also just want to admire every inch of you again."
Her words made your heart swell and the butterflies in your stomach take flight, especially when she locked the door and pinned you to the bed. Gold eyes stared down at you like you were her prey and, honestly, you were. Her lips connected with yours the moment a quiet and needy whine left you, your fingers tugging her down in the process.
When you woke, the bed beside you was cold. Not the normal cold you'd feel when Cassandra snuggled up to you, but just a coldness that signaled she wasn't there. You sat up, holding the comforter to your chest as your tired eyes scanned the room.
'Not here. And not in the bathroom either. Where are you?'
You slowly got out of bed, ignoring the slight ache in your body as you headed to take a shower. Once you were in the bathroom, your eyes glanced at the mirror and you smiled at the marks littering your body, your [S/T] fingers lightly brushing over them. After your shower, you got dressed and headed to lady Dimitrescu's study, a bright smile on your face as you knocked on her door. Her voice called out for you to enter and you did, bounding over to her side immediately.
"Lady Dimitrescu—."
"Mother." She corrected immediately, not taking her eyes off of what was on her desk.
"R-right," You whispered, your face heating up. "Mother... I was hoping I'd be allowed to leave the castle today?"
That caught her attention. Gold eyes lifted from her desk and landed on you, piercing through your soul. If you were anyone else, you'd probably be shaking in your boots.
"Isn't it your anniversary with Cassandra today?" She asked, leaning back in her chair as if to scrutinize your request further.
"I won't be long! I wanted to get her something! Please?"
Most people would've been dead immediately at the request but, lady Dimitrescu had a soft spot for the person that made her daughter happy. And kept her out of trouble as often as possible. So, with a hum, the lady approved of your endeavor and you set out, making sure to wrap yourself up properly and wear the necklace that let the lycans know not to harm you.
As you stepped towards the front door, two pairs of gold eyes burned into your back, making you freeze in place and glance over your shoulder at them. Bela and Daniela stood at the back of the room, near the painting of the three sisters, with concerned looks in their eyes. You simply sent them a warm smile, moving your hand away from the door.
"I'm coming back, don't worry. I just wanted to go out and get your sister something."
The two nodded and took off immediately, leaving you to laugh and shake your head as you left the castle. Once you reached the gates, you grew serious and slipped passed them after opening them slightly. You stuck to the tree-line as you trekked, keeping your footsteps as quiet as possible as you stalked towards the village.
It was silent, meaning Heisenberg and his lycans weren't in the village. The timing couldn't be better. You stayed towards the edge of the village, noticing a farmer working quietly in the fields alone. He was maybe mid-twenties with pin straight, black hair that nearly covered his eyes. He wasn't too muscular so you could easily take him down.
And that's what you did. You snuck around the field, careful not to make a sound before you reached him. You pulled a knife from the holster on your thigh and hit him in the back of the head with the hilt, making sure to not hit too hard but just hard enough to render him unconscious.
You grabbed him before he could fall, dragging him away from the village. Once you were a good distance between the castle and the village, you let his body drop in order to catch your breath, looking up once you heard a growl.
"Hold on!" The voice made relief wash through you.
'Lord Heisenberg.'
"That's the little sprite that's dating my niece. Don't ever harm them." His voice grew louder and far more threatening than you'd ever heard as he finally came into view.
His eyes scanned the scene before a beaming smile crossed his face. You were going to respond but, in a flash, he was at your side with his arm draped over your shoulders.
"I see you have prey for my niece! She'll certainly love this gift." He laughed before ordering a few lycans to pick up the body and carry it to the castle.
Heisenberg didn't let you protest to his lycans carrying the body, instead he just turned you two towards the castle and started heading in that direction. By the time you all reached the castle, lady Dimitrescu was waiting with the door open, her gold eyes glaring at her brother and his mutts.
"We've safely returned my niece's prey and significant other! We'll be taking our leave now." Karl bowed with that, the lycans setting the man down before following Heisenberg away from the castle.
"That idiot." Lady Dimitrescu sighed before ushering you out of the cold, her other hand carelessly picking up the unconscious man.
Once the door shut, Cassandra appeared in the room, her arms wrapping around you in a tight hug. That was until she caught sight of the man, her attention immediately on her mother.
"Who's the man-thing for, mother?" She asked giddily, a hunger in her eyes.
"For you." You interjected, gaze falling to the floor once you realized her first thought got shifted to the man-thing instead of you. "I figured I should get you something."
Her mother set the man down and Cassandra immediately gripped his shirt, a wide grin on her face as she pressed a kiss to your cheek. There was no verbal thank you or anything as she dragged the body away, giggling to herself. You immediately took your coat off and hung it up before taking your leave, locking yourself in your shared room.
Hours had passed and you had refused to come down for dinner, claiming you were too tired and going to go to bed when Bela questioned you further. You had ignored your best friend's concerned look and left the door unlocked, laying on your stomach to continue reading. You weren't sure when you had fallen asleep but the sunlight peaking through the curtains woke you.
A smile was on your face as you remembered Cassandra's promise. You immediately turned, expecting to see her. When you were met with empty sheets — that seemingly were not even slept in — your heart broke a little bit. Shaking it off, you hopped out of bed and took a shower, getting dressed once you were out to start the day. You weren't a maid, but the Dimitrescu's definitely didn't like it when other people made food for them. Last night being one of the only times they suffered through it because you had refused to leave your room.
As you were making breakfast, you heard screams from the basement mixed with the maniacal laughter of your girlfriend. It hurt you to know that she'd rather spend time torturing a man-thing than waking up next to you but, you pushed those feelings down. And that's what you did. For two weeks. Every day you'd fall asleep to a cold bed and wake up to one as well. Every day your movements became more and more sluggish with less interactions than normal.
Finally, one night, you had enough and moved to a different room, taking all of your things with you. Once your new room had everything in it, you locked the door and fell to your knees, trying to stop the tears from falling down your cheeks. You stayed locked in that room for a week, only opening it to get the food and water Bela would leave in the hall for you. One day you did this and your eyes landed on Cassandra. Your heart broke at the sight of her.
She looked paler than usual, her cloak covering more of her face but even from this distance you could see a tear slide down her cheek. You immediately pulled the tray into your room and closed the door, locking it instantly. The sound of flies buzzing reached you and you froze, holding your breath as it stopped outside of your door.
"[Y/N] ...?" Her voice was raw and you tried to ignore the uncertainty in her calling your name.
You stayed silent, praying she'd leave. And leave she did, but not after punching the wall next to your door and letting out an aggravated scream.
"I'm sorry..." You whispered once the buzzing of flies was far away, your gaze landing on the food next to you.
Your eyes landed on a note with your name on it. You immediately recognized it as Cassandra's handwriting and sighed, lifting it to read it.
'[N/N],
I'm sorry. I know I broke my promise but please, come speak to me. I miss falling asleep with you in my arms. Let me make it up to you, please. I love you.'
You stared at the last sentence before letting out a bitter laugh, tossing the note to the side as you started eating. As you ate, you caught yourself stealing glances at the note and once you had finished eating what was brought to you, a low groan left your lips. Exiting your new room with the tray and quickly finishing your water, you were immediately engulfed in a swarm of flies.
The tray and glass were ripped from your hands and you were whisked away from your room. Once everything had slowed down, you found yourself in a very familiar room and sitting on a very familiar bed. You were about to stand up when the door shut and locked from the other side, leaving you alone in the room.
With a sigh, you decided to lay down on the bed and close your eyes. Memories came rushing back to you and you couldn't help the sob the left you. You tried to stop once you heard water draining from a tub and the soft padding of feet drawing close to the bathroom door. The bathroom door creaked open slowly after a moment and the next thing you felt was a body on top of you. Your hands clenched the sheets beneath you to try and stop you from wrapping your arms around the vampire straddling you and desperately trying to bury herself in your scent.
"Cassandra..." You whispered and that was enough to send you both over the edge, tears now running down your cheeks as hers soaked into your shirt.
It was a while of you two holding each other and crying before you both settled down. She had stopped crying first and now had your head pressed against her chest, pale fingers tracing circles on your back until you calmed down. Once you looked up at her, her lips were on yours. You wanted to resist. To push her off and demand an explanation for her actions but her grip on you wouldn't allow that to happen. So, you returned the kiss, letting her pull you closer. The kiss didn't go further than that, but it was hard to separate from her.
"I'm so sorry," She whispered against your lips, her nails digging in to the flesh on your shoulders. "I'm so fucking sorry. I forgot my promise."
Her lips were on yours again for a brief moment before she spoke again, tears falling from her eyes once more. "I broke your heart and I'm sorry."
Another kiss. More words. "I understand why you're mad at me, but please don't make me go to sleep without you anymore."
Her voice cracked but she covered it up by kissing you again, a quiet sob being mixed into the kiss from her. "I was so excited and happy you went out of your way to hunt a new man-thing for me to torture that I forgot. I forgot my promise. I forgot to take care of you..."
Another desperate kiss. This time, you didn't let her pull away, holding her in the kiss before letting her go when your lungs screamed at you for air. Tears welled in your eyes as she kept mumbling how she promises to be a better girlfriend, to make sure you know she's there when you fall asleep and wake up, to make sure you never feel abandoned again. Her rambling would've continued if you hadn't cut her off by connecting your lips with hers again.
This one was more heated. A month of not kissing or touching your girlfriend had left you more touch starved than you'd like to ever admit. The two of you didn't need to speak after that, all of your emotions and love for each other being poured into the kiss. You felt her fangs brush against your lower lip and you pulled back, pinning her to the bed shortly after — leaving her shocked for a brief moment.
"I like this side of you." She hummed, gold eyes taking in your form towering over hers for once.
You stared down at her hungrily, immediately attaching your lips to her neck, a low growl leaving you as you nipped and sucked your way down her neck. It would've continued. It should've continued. But it stopped immediately when her bedroom door unlocked. You separated from her immediately, ignoring her whines of protest as she crawled into your lap, peppering kisses on your neck as her sisters entered her room. Their eyes locked with yours and they froze, grins spreading across their faces at your glare.
"Are we interrupting something?" The two asked in unison.
"Out." You growled, ignoring the shiver from your girlfriend as the two left in a swarm of giggles and flies, letting the door slam and lock.
"That was hot."
"Cassandra, dear... get on your hands and knees."
