Ten minutes.

Right on time, you were standing outside his room, ready to knock on the door.

Almost like he could sense your presence, the door was yanked open, and his gruff voice reached your ears, "Come in already."

Stepping inside, your eyes rapidly took in everything. The room was dark, with the curtains open letting in the moonshine, becoming the only source of light in the room. Still, in the dark you could detect the bed that was made, the comforter disrupted as if someone was laying on it. The shelf on his desk had small figurines of a bright hero. There were books laid open on his desk, with a book bag on the floor by the chair.

Various posters coated the wall by his desk, whether they were bands or movies or heroes, they added a nice touch to the room, making it seem more lively.

Bakugo was sitting on the edge of his bed, his crimson eyes watching you look around curiously and take a seat on the rug by his bed. He didn't know how to start, or what to say. It was an impulsive thing for him to invite you to his room, but there was so much to discuss.

The words died in his mouth.

Instead, he held an arm out. "Let me see."

His eyes pointed towards your arms which were covered by the sweater you had on. The only thing visible were the scars that littered your hands.

Wordlessly, you raised your arms up in his direction, curious to see why he was asking to see your hands. He moved forward, taking a seat on the floor with you so that you'd both be on the same level.

Eye to eye.

There was some hesitation in his movement, like he wasn't sure if it was okay for him to touch you. But one hard nod from you, and his fingers softly traced the scars.

Sparks.

Have you ever felt a breeze tickle the back of your neck causing you to shiver? It felt like that, an unexpected breeze that made your entire body shiver, but in a good way. Everything felt tingling, like you were high on a rush of adrenaline. But it was more than just that.

It felt overwhelming.

You felt at ease with the contact, like your body recognized that this was home.

But at the same time, you felt comfort. You felt happy. You felt alive.

He must be feeling the same way, based on how wide his eyes got and how his own body seemed to be responding to you.

"So it's true. You really are my soulmate."

Your gaze snapped up to his, a small frown on your face. "Did you think I was faking it or something?"

"No, I just thought it was too good to be true."

Gaping, your mouth opened and closed as you tried to think of something to say.

The same insecurity that plagued you at nights, wondering if you were good enough for them or if they would want you for you, even after being broken.

Bakugo seemed to be haunted by the same thoughts.

He took your silence as an opportunity to explain. "I am a terrible person." Self hatred dripped from his words. "I've done things that I'm not proud of, my own fucking pride caused me to be an annoying shit. I hurt people who cared for me, even now I push away people. You're too good for me."

The hand that was tracing the scars on your skin latched onto your wrist, like he was afraid you were going to bolt.

And honestly, he wouldn't be surprised.

Maturing was realizing that he was a bully, a narcissistic person that didn't deserve the kindness you were offering. There were people out there-good people- who deserved to have a soulmate. But not him, no he gave that all up when he targeted people and became an ass.

And yet, he still latched on to you, trying to find a reason as to why you should want to stay with him.

Incredulous, you leaned slightly back to take a good look at him. "So what? You think I'm going to judge you based on things you've done? You're not the only one who isn't proud of their past." Chuckling drily, you tilted your head up, looking up at the ceiling of his room. "Ever since I first heard your voice in my head, I was afraid of meeting you, afraid of the disgust and horror I would see in your eyes once you realized who I was."

Under the moonlight, your eyes met his. "I'm just as afraid as you are. But I want this. I'm tired of running away because I don't think I deserve something."

You've been told your entire life that you were a monster and treated as such. For crying out loud, you were dubbed the 'Demon' because of the horror you brought. People feared you. You smiled when inflicting pain upon the villains. What about that screamed 'I'm a good person'?

Still, Bakugo was stubborn and wouldn't accept your explanation. "How can you accept it so easily? Don't you see, I don't deserve any of this, not after what I've done. I'm still a horrible person. People try to sugar coat it. But I know. My aggressive tendencies tend to intimidate others, in fact villains kidnapped me because they wanted to recruit me after seeing how villainous I was."

There was so much to unpack there.

He was kidnapped? By villains?

Who? When? A wave of protectiveness hit you.

Bastards.

Was it bad that you wanted to go hunt down whoever dared lay a finger on him? Nah.

"You know what I see? I see someone who is working on becoming better, who is apologizing for what they've done and redeeming themselves. That says a lot. You may not believe me now, but I think you're an amazing person. Not some villainous asshole you make yourself out to be." Reaching up, you lace your fingers with his. Leaning in, you whisper to him, a serious tone coating your words. "Now, what villains kidnapped you? I'm just trying to have a word with them."

Bakugo won't admit it, but the anger you had on his behalf was surprisingly charming.

Everybody judged him off the bat. They took one look at his explosions, one look at the frown he wore, and mistook his dedication for something evil. Instead of seeing him for him- not some flashy quirk- they jumped to the most obvious conclusion, that he was villainous and didn't deserve to be in the hero course. That there was no future for someone like him.

But fuck them. He didn't let it get to him. Instead, he pushed through it all, working harder and harder than anybody in that goddamn school to prove them all wrong. To stand at the top and look down at them, seeing if they could talk shit now that he did everything he promised he would do.

And yet, in the little time that you've known him, you saw him for him. You didn't even know his quirk or any details, just that he was a hero. And that was it. You were seeing his actions and his feelings, and judging from that.

That's what he wanted. To be looked at.

"The fucktards from the League kidnapped me, fucking laughed in their face for believing I would join their little boyband."

The League... they just became your number one enemy.

The look on your face caught his attention, your eyes seemed to shine with something new.

It would be a lie if he didn't say that he found it hot. The look in your eyes was fiery, so intense it even matched his. It was a look that screamed 'you'll pay for that and now I'm going to break your face.'

It was a good look on you.

"The League, oh they're going to pay for ever touching you. I'd gladly kick their ass again."

This caught him off guard, "You know them?"

"Sadly. I was in one of their meetings and restrained them, they weren't too happy about it."

"Why were you in one of their meetings?"

You sighed, "Overhaul and Shigaraki were planning on becoming allies, it worked to some extent."

Bakugo leaned back, resting against the edge of his bed as he looked up to his ceiling, deep in thought. "An alliance..." He mumbled. His thoughts were running wild, he'd witnessed first hand just how off the ledge the League was, an alliance with someone like Overhaul meant that they're stepping up their game.

"I warned the heroes already. They're looking into it in case the League tries to break Overhaul free."

Good. They were at least taking some action, Bakugo thought as he looked back down at you.

He nodded to your words and silence seemed to fill the room. It felt peaceful. Just the two of you sitting in the dark, high off the feeling of being soulmates.

Bakugo broke the silence, "Are you sure you want this?"

"This?"

"Yes this." He gestured to himself.

You weren't an idiot. His question may seem nonchalant but it held a deeper meaning, and you detected the way he spoke about himself, as if you were better off having a different soulmate-

A better soulmate.

Well screw that, you weren't backing down. There was a reason why the two of you were soulmates. And you would prove that he was good enough, more than enough actually.

Slowly, you inched forward, balancing on your knees as you wrapped your arms around his neck. "I want you. The good, the bad, and the everything in between," you begin saying.

His arms slither around your waist, holding you close. His breath tickled the side of your neck as he nuzzled into the juncture between your neck and shoulder. Eyes closed, he breathed in your scent, savoring it.

You lean back a little, lifting his chin up so that he looked at you, "I want to know everything there is to know about you. How you like your eggs in the morning, what you're passionate about, the things that make you tick, your dreams and goals. I want to be there every step of the way. I want to make new memories with you. I want it all. And if you want me as well, then we can tackle this soulmate thing together."

"Yeah?" His voice was low and rugged, captivated by the words the were spiraling from you. His eyes seemed to shine bright in the dark room, a certain emotion brewing in them.

"Together Katsuki. No more being alone."

"Looks like you're stuck with me for life Y/n."

"I wouldn't have it any other way." You said softly by his ear, making his body shiver.

It was a promise.

...

Walking into the common room, a small body crashed into you, latching on as you stumbled to a halt. Laughing, you bend down slightly and picked her up, "Angel, how was your day with Mirio?"

"So much fun! We saw the penguins, lions, giraffes and we saw elephants too! Those were my favorite, they were so big and Mirio took a picture of me. I even fed some zebras."

Looking down as you carried her to the couches in the room, you fondly shook your head at her, happy to see her so excited. "I'm glad you had some fun. Did you thank Mirio already?"

She eagerly shook her head yes, shaking an elephant figure she got from the gift shop in your face.

The common room was quickly filling up as everybody showed up, excited for today. They were all eager to meet Eri, the sweet girl Midoriya kept on talking about. They were excited to know about you as well, quite a mystery, especially after today and the rumor of being Bakugo's soulmate.

Sitting on the couch, Eri slid off your lap to go sit on your father's lap, launching into stories about the animals she saw as she pointed at the pictures Aizawa was scrolling through- curtesy of Mirio.

Noticing the amount of curious eyes looking at her, Eri's voice got lower and lower, shy at the amount of unknown people looking at her. Sinking into her father's arms, she hid her face in his chest, hoping they would stop staring.

"Hi Eri!"

Midoriya's voice however, was enough to get her to take a peek outside of Aizawa's chest. "Hi Deku." She answered softly, giving him a small wave.

Clearing his throat, Aizawa addressed the room now that everybody was present. "As promised, you will all get to meet my kids- Y/n and Eri. Remember to behave problem children." The last part directed at his class.

Before anybody could ask questions, you looked around and smiled at everybody, "I want to thank you all. My father told me about how hard you each worked when preparing for the mission. My sister and I will forever be thankful that you risked your lives for us. So from the bottom of my heart, I want to formally thank you heroes."

Eri added a shy 'thank you' as well as she curiously looked around, feeling more at ease now.

"Ah stop it, you're going to make me cry!"

"That was so sweet."

"We were doing our duty as rising heroes."

"Can't believe Aizawa has kids now."

"Oh man, Midoriya wasn't joking about how adorable Eri is."

"I'm going to be in the kitchen grabbing some coffee." Was all Aizawa said as he stood up, placing Eri in his seat and walking away. Clutching her elephant, Eri stood up and walked towards Deku, the only other familiar face in the room.

Those near Midoriya began to coo over her, gushing about her dress and complimenting her, making Eri feel safe.

The ones remaining, turned towards you, eager to get some answers from you.

"So Y/n, looks like you're one of us now." Ashido stated, referring to how you were now enrolled in the hero course.

"It's an honor to be here."

Sero leaned forward from his spot on the floor, "I have to admit, you were kicking ass earlier! How did you learn to move like that?"

"Yeah! You were like swoosh and bam, it was so cool. You fought those villains all by yourself."

Biting the inside of your cheek, you look away in embarrassment. "When my quirk manifested, the boss had me begin training and it looks like it paid off."

The statement might seem normal to others, but a particular boy frowned as he voiced a question. "How old were you?" Everybody turned to look at him, surprised that he engaged. It was rare for Todoroki Shoto to be curious about something.

"I was five."

Something tugged at Todoroki's chest. He saw the look in your eye, it was the same look he saw whenever he looked in the mirror. He knew that you understood, what it felt like to be trained to become a soldier from an early age and having your childhood ripped away from you. And so he gave you a nod in respect, no more questions asked.

The others picked up on it. They were vaguely aware of Todoroki's rough childhood, and so it was obvious that he related to what you went through.

"Okay, I can't help it. Is it true that you're Bakugo's soulmate?" Jirou had just asked the question everybody was so curious about.

The soulmate in question was sitting in one of the lone recliners, a scowl on his face as everybody began to look at you and then at him, waiting for some type of confirmation.

"Yes. We're soulmates."

Nothing prepared you for the shouting that began.

"No way dude!"

"Bakugo, you never mentioned having a soulmate?"

"That's because it was none of your goddamn business!"

"Wait, is that why your voice sounds so familiar?"

"Right? I thought I was tripping but we heard her sing before."

"Omg Bakubro I'm so jealous of you."

"I wonder how Aizawa took the news."

"Congrats guys!"

A conversation stuck to you as your turned towards Kaminari and Sero, "You recognized my voice?"

The boys nodded as Kirishima explained. "Bakubro told us about your soulmate bond and we went to the music room where there's a machine that lets us hear what Bakugo hears. And yeah, we heard you sing."

You weren't sure whether to die in embarrassment at the fact that they heard you sing, or smile at the fact that Bakugo had friends that he was close to.

"You found your soulmate Y/n?" It was Eri who spoke, her tiny body stepping into your line of vision.

Nodding, you gave her a bright smile. She understood just how much you had been dying to meet them. "Who is it?" The girl asked, her red eyes glittering with happiness.

Before answering, a gruff voice interjected. "It's me."

Eri turned around, looking at Bakugo who was leaning back in the recliner, no scowl on his face but instead a neutral look. The room was silent as they watched the young girl walk towards Bakugo. It seemed like a big deal- Eri was your sister, her approval obviously meant a lot to you. If Bakugo couldn't get along with your sister, then what did that say about your soulmate bond?

However, all worries melted away as Class 2-A stared at Bakugo in shock.

The usually angry boy who scowled every minute of every day, was instead smiling softly at the little girl.

"Are you going to marry my sister?"

Snickers surfaced as they noticed the red hue on your cheeks, matching the blush that Bakugo was also sporting. Everybody leaned forward, eager to hear his response but Bakugo spoke quietly, enough for only Eri to hear.

"One day I will. I'll take care of your sister Eri."

Whatever Bakugo had said to the girl was a good enough answer as she nodded, her silver locks swaying as she climbed onto his lap, giving him a small hug. "I like you Cherry."

"Cherry?"

Eri nodded, like it made total sense. "Family have nicknames for each other. Your eyes are red like cherries."

Having a nickname from Eri was her stamp of approval, causing you to turn away slightly to hide the grin on your face. It made you happy that your sister approved of him.

Rolling his eyes, Bakugo raised a hand up to softly flick her forehead, causing her to erupt in giggles. Honestly, he was fucking shocked that it was going so well. It was no secret that he didn't have the best track record with kids- take the provisional exam support classes as an example. And yet, even though she was a complete brat who called his fucking eyes shitty cherries, Eri wasn't half bad.

Looking up, his eyes searched for you. The smile you were doing a terrible job of hiding made his cold heart do some weird things- like beating a million times per minute. The sudden rush of pride that bloomed in his chest at making you smile like that was both terrifyingly unnatural and natural at the same time.

Having a soulmate was making him soft.

And he couldn't let these extras think they could suddenly be bffs with him just because he was tolerating Eri.

Grumbling, he slightly shoved the young girl off his lap which she didn't mind as she walked over to her next victim, which happened to be birdbrain.

As the atmosphere settled down, the class dispersed into groups, talking about the villain attack, hearing Aizawa's shockingly good singing voice, and debating what ice cream flavor was superior.

"Winter is the best season. The holidays, the cold weather, hot chocolate, and you have an excuse to stay inside because of the snow! Easily better than summer." Shinso argued but his boyfriend simply shook his head, as if disappointed by the exclamation.

"It's about summer! The warm weather, ice cream, the beach! It's just so... happy!"

"I'm not trying to sweat. What are you going to do about the hot weather? If you don't have an AC you're fucked. But in winter, if you get cold, you get to wear layers of clothing and nobody would judge you for only wearing hoodies."

"But... the beach!"

"What about it? Sand everywhere? Hot sun? No thanks."

"Guys," Kaminari whined as he turned away from Shinso, trying to find some backup in the argument. "What's better. Summer or winter?"

This sparked a huge debate as the class split into sides. Some sided with Shinso, others with Kaminari and then there was the third group who could give no shits about the seasons. Their attention turned towards you since you were just sitting there, head snapping back and forth like you were watching a tennis match.

"What do you say? It's obviously summer right? Cool breeze, ice cream and the beach. Sounds like good vibes no?"

An awkward smile settled on your lips, "I don't really know. Never been to the beach. Only recently did I try ice cream. And I've never really experienced the different seasons while inside, so I'm the last person you should be asking."

"You've never been to the beach?" Uraraka screeched as she waved her hands around.

Shrugging, you make it seem like it wasn't a big deal. "Couldn't be outside."

Now, Uraraka was currently beating herself up for forgetting what Midoriya had told them yesterday. Trying to backpedal, she tried to not make a big deal about it anymore, lowering her yelling to a normal tone. "Well, we should plan a beach day soon. It would be pretty relaxing."

That was enough for the huge debacle to be forgotten as plans were being made.

Looking around, it was easy to detect the bond they all carried with each other. Just how easily they slipped into conversation with each other and made jokes that only they knew. The class was in their own bubble, a bubble formed by experiencing too many close deaths. They way Ashido leaned into Tsu's side like second nature, or the way Ojiro and Sero teased Tokoyami until the boy was sputtering.

A twinge of sadness hit you.

Was it awful of you to feel jealous? To feel like an outsider?

That's what you were after all. A stranger who got shoved into their class, their home, and is expected to be their friend. But how could you sit there and feel at ease when you felt more alone than ever?

Sure, they had been kind enough to include you by asking you questions, but as the night went on, they slipped back into their own thing, with you drifting to the back of their head.

Sighing, you leaned back into your seat, placing a hand on the arm panel and closing your eyes, trying to not look so pathetic and out of place. Even Eri was striving, caught up in playing Candy Land with a few of your classmates.

Now that your eyes were closed, you felt relief.

All day long you've felt tired. From being woken up by Aizawa after a nightmare, to fighting some villains off the bat, and moving into the dorms and meeting everybody- you haven't had a chance to just sit back and get some rest.

The little bit of sleep you have been experiencing was taking a toll on you. You felt it in the way your eyes relished the small moment of rest. They felt sore and your body wanted nothing more than to go to bed and hopefully get some dreamless sleep.

Trying to hold back a yawn, your jaw cracked at how big the yawn was, a clear indication that it was getting late for you.

A soft touch on your knee caused you to jerk awake, turning to the left to see who it was.

It was Bakugo, who had a small frown on his face. When he had taken the spot next to you was a mystery to you.

"If you're tired, just fucking go to bed idiot. These extras will understand."

Shaking your head, it rolls to the right as you flash him a tired smile, the droopiness in your movements clear as day. You were just being stubborn. "It's okay, I just needed to rest my eyes for a bit. I don't want to miss anything."

Still, he scoffed as he wrapped a hand around your arm, pulling you up to your feet. Honestly, if you were so tired, you should just go. No need to entertain everybody else. They were all caught up in their own things to notice either way. Plus, you were now a part of Class 2-A, you had the rest of the year to get to know them.

Which is why Bakugo pulled you up and began dragging you towards the elevator. Your departure was silent in which you didn't fight against him, instead letting him drag you away.

As the elevator dinged, indicating that you had arrived at your floor, you seemed to perk up more, realizing that you were no longer in the common room.

If Bakugo had to guess, he would assume your social battery had ran out, hence why you were feeling so tired. Now away from any social interaction and no pressure around to communicate with someone, your body rose with energy.

Ha, so maybe you were both more similar than he realized.

Stopping in front of the correct dorm room, he watched as you took a step forward to swipe your keycard, opening the door wide enough for you both to enter.

He wasn't expecting to come into your room, but since you were offering, fuck it, why not.

Taking a step in, he took in his surroundings.

At first glance, he noticed how relaxing it was. Everything inside screamed 'homey.' Through the open curtains, there were pots of various flowers outside in the balcony, shining bright under the moonlight. The side of your room where your desk was had a cork board up, several images pinned, varying from your father to Eri, and even Deku was up there (definitely going to burn that picture after, he thought). There was a t.v hooked up as well, next to the bookcase filled colorful spines.

A navy blue rug matched your comforter, contrasting well against the grey bean bag you had in the corner of your room. The wall by your bed had several vines and lights hung up, wrapping around the posters plastered up. They were hero posters, a rare Eraserhead poster, along with a Present Mic and even a Sir Nighteye poster.

He may have only known you for a small amount of time, but he can admit that your room reflected you well. It wasn't overbearing with colors like Raccoon Eyes, nor was it clustered with stuff like Deku's. It was a nice balance, just enough things to make it not seem empty.

You were now sprawled across your bed, sinking into the soft feeling of your blanket and the cool sensation from the pillow.

Cracking an eye open, you looked at him, seeing the way he stood in your room, his thumbs stuffed into the pocket of his jeans, trying to not seem out of place.

"You want to stay?"

Tensing slightly, Bakugo turned away from the pictures above your desk to look at you, his lips tilting downward in distaste?

It would be very easy, to just slip into his mind and read it, figure out what he was thinking and feeling. But it would be a huge invasion of privacy, plus, this was Bakugo. Not some classmate or peer- but your soulmate.

"Why would I want to fucking stay?"

Another thing you noticed about him. He swore a lot.

To some, it would be unpleasant, frowning at the crude language. Instead, a smile threatened to slip on your face. You liked how honest he was. He didn't seem to hesitate in speaking his mind, even if it was expressing it through such colorful words.

"Just. I don't see what's so wrong with you staying. We're soulmates."

A blush began to spread across his cheeks as he scowled to gain some control here. He sputtered, trying to form a response. When you put it like that, you made it seem like him staying the night was something normal and totally not against the rules.

The hesitation was clear.

A line was drawn between his two eyebrows as he tried to think of what to do- should he stay the night? Should he go?

Fuck.

Deep down, he knew the answer.

"Better not hog the fucking blanket. It's cold as fuck in here."

Grinning, you lifted the corner of your blanket up, allowing him room to slide in and lay with you. Moving closer to the wall, the rustle of jeans being taken off reached your ear. It wasn't until you felt his body heat next to you that you realized that there was a freaking boy in your bed.

Your dad was going to kill you.

And yet, you didn't regret it at all.

People seem to underestimate what it means to have a soulmate. Nothing ever resembles the moment when you find your soulmate. The encounter brings a wave of emotions. A perception of being alive that goes beyond the heart, a feeling that sinks into your bones and touches your soul.

Nothing nor anyone can ever draw that emotions from you or replace those feelings.

Bakugo captured your soul in just one gaze.

This is who the stars matched you with. They strung a rope of fate between you and Bakugo, something that cannot be erased.

There was a book you once read back in the warehouse about the science behind soulmates and their bonds. The author, Clairel Estevev, described a soulmate bond as a perfect storm.

Your soulmate is a storm- a complete storm. One with thunders and rain, with lightning and gloom, with purpose and mystery; And all the things that amaze your mind and heart.

This storm- beautiful and strange- you don't want it to slip out of your hands.

Your hearts ignite with the same intensity; burning brighter than the sun as one flame.

And so, as you lay by his side, the beating of his heart lulls you to sleep as you sink into the feeling. Two different corners of the universe, reunited after being split apart and forming intertwined souls.

"Goodnight Katsuki."

You were asleep by the time the boy built up the courage to say something. Shifting to his side, he turned to look at you, the way your hair fell across the pillow and framed your face. Your mouth was slightly parted and he wondered if you drooled in your sleep. And yet, the slight raise of your chest and the feeling of warmth coming from you melted his rough exterior.

Giving into the feeling, he wrapped an arm around you, brining you even closer to him. Nuzzling into you, his eyes began to close, "Night Y/n."
