(Y/N)'s PoV
My head still hurts and pounds like crazy, the dizziness keeping every part of my body weak and useless. The thought of opening my eyes or moving feels incredibly impossible, but through all of that I felt myself moving, someone was carrying me. I felt a gentle cold breeze against my right cheek, and against the left it felt warm and soft, it felt safe but then I remembered what happened the last time I was awake, that I was fighting against the Horde and passed out, most likely captured by them again
"Let me go! I'm not going back to that horrible place" I struggle against my captor, trying to get my hands against their chest so I could push myself away but their grip just tightened on my leg and waist. My voice a hard rough tone, barely above a whisper as I keep yelping weakly
'stupid voice'
"Hey it's ok (AC/N)...it's just me...you are safe" a gentle soft voice brushes against my ear, immediately smoothing me into calmness and for some reason safety, and I would recognize that voice anywhere
"Adora?" My voice broke weakly as I open my eyes slowly looking at her, just to find her only inches away from my face. Her breath softly caressing my face
"Are you ok? How are you feeling? Bow said you used to much magic and that you passed out" she stops walking and whispers with enough concerned in her voice to melt something in me, and heat rose to my cheeks, thankfully she wouldn't be able to see it in the night, but for my damnation, she looks gorgeous in the light of the night, her hair glowing and waving with the wind with a soft golden color. Her eyes.... God her eyes are even brighter than before
'maybe it's the light of the moons'
She is stunning!
"(AC/N)?" Adora breaks my trance again, still looking at me. My lips curving into a hint of an amused smirk
'FUCK! why do I keep doing this? What is this girl doing to me?'
"Yeah... Sorry.. I...I'm... Fine Adora thank you..." I giggle nervously and embarrassed. The red of my cheek growing worst
"...That happens when I use to much magic... I'm still learning to control it" I smile awkwardly and look away embarrassed that she caught me starring... AGAIN
"I'm happy you are ok... I was really worry, you've been unconscious for hours" she says with sadness and worry in her voice and I can feel her embrace getting a little tighter, pulling me closer to her and I look at her again
"It’s ok Adora, really I'm fine, I promise...." I smile sweetly again to reassure her I'm fine and she just keeps her eyes lock on mine. We were close, really close to each other and with her face so close and those impossibly beautiful ocean eyes of hers looking right into my heart I knew it was just matter of time before I would do something incredibly stupid
'Why am I so flushed when I'm around her?'
".....Uhh...Adora yo..you can put me down now" I say lowly and she blinks twice before realizing what I was saying
"Right..Sorry" she laughs embarrassed, lowering my legs to the ground but immediately grabs my arm with one hand and wraps the other around my waist when I swayed a little, my legs still weak
'Right no magic!'
"(Y/N)?" Bow's voice came from behind us, as he walks away from the horse where Glimmer was sleeping, probably also burned out of magic like I was, and towards us with a concerned face
"Hey Bow, how is it going?" I ask smoothly, not to worry him because I knew how worry he was, I could see it in his eyes. He's always been the best of us, the one how always makes sure Glimmer and I were ok and safe whenever we were on a mission and I know how worry he gets when we are hurt, especially Glimmer
"Haha! nice try, you are not getting away from my worry that easy... How are you feeling?" he points an accuser finger at me with a playfully tone but there was nothing but worry underneath it
"I'm fine really... Just exhausted. I just need to take it easy for a couple of days, not use my powers" I smile at him, reaching a hand to hold and gentle squeeze his forearm and he nods happily, satisfied with my honesty
"You shouldn't have used all your magic like that" he says worry
"Well it was either that... or let the Horde turn us into confetti...." I laugh and they giggle
"And Glimmer?" I ask, turning around in Adora's grip to look at those and my unconscious friend on top of it
"She'll be fine, just tired and drained. Nothing that a recharge of her power won't fix" he says with a normal happy tone but even Adora, who just met him, could see the immense worry burning in his eyes as then he yawns. He looked as exhausted as I felt, this trip really took a tool on him
"Bow why don't you ride the horse with Glimmer? You look like you could used some rest" Adora offers
"I'm good, I'm not tired" he lies
"Funny, because I thought in this world yawns meant tiredness" I smirk at him and he laughs
"Fine you got me with that one, but are you sure none of you want to get some rest first?" he laughs
"No, I'm good, I literally just woke up" I smile
"Me neither, besides I have a lot on my mind anyway" Adora says, still holding me tight against her, he sighs defeated and nods, walking back to the horse. After literal 3 minutes he was fast asleep, just like Glimmer. Adora and I started to walk again and I was able to walk with just a needing put support my hand on her shoulder, but I noticed how her hands where always ready to reach out and grab me whenever I stumbled a little
As we kept walking, the night became colder than usual and i couldn't fight my shivers, Adora obviously noticing this and returning my jacket back to me and searching for hers in one of the back on the horse
"Sooo... What exactly happened after I passed out? I'm guessing we won because I'm not on my way to that witch" I ask Adora as she puts on her red jacket
"Well... Glimmer gave me the sword and I transformed into She-ra and fought the soldiers, which means I turned against the Horde" she says calmly but I can tell there is worry in the last phrase, it troubled her
"Don't worry, you're with us now! We have your back Adora, always! We will be here for you" I say sweetly, gently pushing her with my shoulder, letting her know that she was not alone in this and the smile she gave me told me she genuinely thanks this
"Thank you (AC/N)... But you had my back long before today" she says referring at the day we meet at the Horde
"I was not going to let you fall... and you trusted me there too so you had my back too...." I say back with a smile
".....Also thank you" I giggle
"For what?" She asks confused
"You told me ~thank me when you manage to escaped~ and I here I am so thank you" I smile as she does the same
"Well it goes both way... Because you told me ~when you are healed~ and I am so thanks" she waves her now healed hand and elbows me playfully
"Anytime" I giggle happily
"Can I ask you a question?" She asks with a small smirk on her lips
"Of course" I look at her, a little suspicious at the amused smirk
"What was that about ~you knew who you were going to pray to tonight~" She teases, making me blush hard and look away and this clearly amused her, by the happy laugh she made and I knew whatever I said was probably going to be something dumb like because you are a goddess and I want to worship you all night, so I kept my mouth shut and just elbow her playfully, damning that my skin got so flushed by the small teasing
*time skip*
After hours of walking through the night, dawn was breaking in the horizon and just now the castle and town of Bright Moon was beginning to appear in the distance
"Hey, we made it" Bow says happily walking next to us
"Whoa" Adora gasps amazed at the sight of the castle
"Welcome to Bright Moon" Glimmer proudly says, still riding the horse but thankfully better than she was yesterday
"This place never cease to amaze me" I whisper to no one in particular
"It’s so beautiful" Adora whispers with so much happiness taking a step closer
"Okay, I just need to go in there and recharge" Glimmer explains, taking the reins of the horse
"Sounds easy enough...where is the catch?" I ask playfully, looking up at her with my arms crossed
"And deal with my mom" Glimmer finished with worry in her voice
"Annnd there it is" I laugh, looking forward towards our surely encounter with the Queen
"This’ll be fun.. (Y/N) are you coming with me?" Glim says and looks at me with pleading eyes as I imagine the numbers of weeks the Queen will ground us for what we did and sighs defeated
"Fine...... but you're explaining everything to you mom" I point at her and guide the horse forward. Glimmer smiling victoriously as she looks back at Bow and Adora
"Uh, Bow? Maybe we should take Adora in the back way?" She proposes
"Oh, yeah. Good call" he answers
"Yeah I'm definitely coming with you Glim" I say and she elbows me playfully
"What’s the back way?" asks Adora little nervous, looking from my friend and then me
"Don't worry Adora, It will be fun... trust me you'll hate it" I laugh and she gives me a worry smile but I give her a little you'll be fine wink before walking away with the horse and Glimmer
"Glim? Why were you so protective over me with Adora? I mean I get that you didn't trust her at first but there's something else" I asks her when we were far away from the others. She looks down at her hands with guilt in her eyes before looking away away before looking back at me, concerned and genuine love now in her eyes
"I...I just didn't want you to get hurt... I really care about you (Y/N). I know you only got here six months ago but you are like a sister to me. And when we found Adora all I could think of was that they hurt you and that pissed me off" she says looking down and I grab her hand
"Glim, I care about you too. Why do you think I'm always trying to keep you safe. You are one of my best friends and I.... Have never have that, have this before. I love you like a sister to me Glim and Bow it's like my brother... I would give anything to keep to guys safe..." I say to her with loving words
"...Thank you for looking after me sis" I finished with a wink and she smiles brightly at the name
"Glimmer! (Y/N)!!" Angela says loudly, fear and worry in her tone
"Oh Oh.. I love Glimmer but you're one your own in this one" I start to walk away but Glimmer stops me and gets down the horse
"Where have you two been?" the Queen asks with concerned
"Heeey Your Majesty, you are looking royalty as ever" I smile awkwardly
"Hey, mom" Glimmer says weakly
"All of Bright Moon has been worried sick. What were you two thinking? And (Y/N) why do you look so pale? Are you ok?" Angela asks concerned as she hold our cheeks
"Mom!" Glimmer screams annoyed, getting away from her mother's grip but she fall backwards, fainting lightly and I catch her before she could fall
"Glim? Glimmer?!" I ask worry
"Glimmer?!...." Angela asks terrified, kneeling next to Glimmer and looks at the moonstone. Raising up and taking Glimmer from my arms she looks from her daughter and then at me before saying
"....She needs to recharge, please (Y/N) go to the infirmary and ask her to check for any wounds" she says before flying to the moonstone with Glimmer
'I'm going to find Bow and Adora '
*time skip*
After going to the infimary and receiving a scolding her the healer for not taking better care of myself and know my limits, I walk to Glimmer's room and open the door which scare the life out of Bow
"Sorry Bow. It's just me" I giggle, stepping inside and closing the door behind me
"Where is Glimmer?" he asks
"She passed out in my arms and Queen Angela took her to the Runestone but she'll be fine" I reassure him before walking towards Adora, her smile bright on her face as she looks at me, and just like always, I blush at the sight of her melting smile
'Is this how being completely and utterly lovesick for someone feels like?'
"How did you like the back way?" I ask her with a smirk, stepping in front of the window cushion where she was sitting
"It was...... different" she giggles and I smile. Bow is at the door and he looks nervous, he opens and closes it repetitively. Adora looks at me confused and I just shrug my shoulder as I sit next to her
"Okay, I get it. I’m guessing the people of Bright Moon are gonna be a little less welcoming of a Horde soldier than you led me to believe" she says to both of us
"That's one way to put it" I say at the same time as Bow says
"Maybe a little"
"How little?" She asks with a frown
"Well?.." I start
"Think pitchforks and torches" he says and I nod. Adora groans
"It’s just that the people of Bright Moon have been really hurt by the Horde. Everyone here has lost someone in the war. You can’t blame them for being a little suspicious" I say sweetly, grabbing her hand and squeeze it gently
"Sorry" she says squeezing back
"Hey, it’s not your fault. Once they get to know you, the people of Bright Moon are going to trust you just like Glimmer, (Y/N) and I already..." he says but Glimmer appears next to him, scaring the soul out of his body, which makes me giggle
"I’m here! Okay, my mom’s on her way, but no one panic" she says obviously panicking
"What?" Adora screams
"I SAID NO ONE PANIC!" Glimmer screams back clearly not keeping herself together
"Glad to see you have your panic under control Glim" I joke and Adora elbows me playfully
"Don’t worry, she’ll love you. All you have to do is use the sword to transform into She-ra before she gets here" she says with a confidence she's not completely feeling
"Wait, we’re jumping straight to She-ra with your mom? Are you sure?" Bow asks
"Yeah, I don’t think my mom is going to buy, Hey mom, we found a Horde soldier. Can we keep her?" Glimmer explains
"Glimmer, Adora is not a dog... We can't keep her" I laugh but she ignores me
"My mom is gonna love She-ra. We can ease her into the Horde stuff later" she says confidently
"We'll that sound like a good plan" I whisper sarcastically
"Uh, Glimmer, look. I don’t know if I can just ‘turn on’ She-ra. I’ve only done it when someone was in danger before, and it felt a little out-of-control last time. I’m still figuring out how all of this stuff works" Adora confesses, looking down with embarrassment
"How hard can it be? Sword, magic words, poof! She-ra!...." she says teleporting around her room but sees the expression on Adora's face
"....Hey. You’re gonna do great, okay? Bow and I will go buy you some time. Just hang out here with (Y/N) and the sword and think She-ra thoughts. I believe in you!" she teleports away and I sigh
"Don't push yourself too hard Adora... magic is a mystery... Just believe in yourself... Just like we believe in you" I say looking at her and she squeezes my hand again
'wait we are still holding hands!!'
I smile with a light blush on my cheeks and stand up for her to try her magic
"Right. Okay, sword, it’s just you and me now. So, uh…let’s do this" she says and looks at me. I give her thumbs up
"For the honor of Gray.." she shouts but the sword gets caught on something making her fall and almost taking everything with her. I hide a laugh with a cough and kneel next to her
"Are you ok?" I ask between giggles as I help her to stand up again
"Yeah I am" she says and looks out of the window and sees the horse and back at me smiling. I know exactly what she wants
"Fine! we can go out but we stay away from the town... We don't want people confusing you with a Horde soldier" I say giving her some sort of a cape
"Deal" she says smiling brightly walking out of the room and making our way to the garden. We get to the horse and I can see the happiness in her face
"Oh! This is much better. There’s actually room to move around here..." she sighs happily
"....Ready to see something cool?..." She asks the horse, who only made a noise and moved an ear
"...For the honor of Grayskull!...." she yells proudly but nothing happened
'that's weird'
".....Ok let's try it again...." she says and nothing
She tries in different ways.. deep voice... normal voice... whispering... swinging the sword wildly
"....Ok maybe I can only do it when I'm being attacked... Fast (AC/N) attack me" she turns to me
"I...I don't think that is a good idea... The last time I got near that sword it blow me away and also I'm out of magic" I laugh
"Ow.... Right" she says and sits down on the grass, her eyes frowning in sadness. I walk and sit next to her, and the horse lays down next to us too, rolling around
"I need to do this... I can't fail you guys" she says looking down at the sword at her feet
"Adora you won't fail us, don't worry....." I gently squeeze her forearm, dragging her attention to me but I could see she wasn't so convinced
"....I know all of this is new and strange and overwhelming, trust me I know! Leaving everything you know behind is scary but you need to know that you're not alone, you're never not going to be alone... I won't let it. Whatever you'd face, I'll face it with you, I promise" I smile and elbow her, making her giggle
"What am I supposed to tell the Queen?" She asks and I think for some seconds, looking ahead at the trees
"The truth... Don't just tell her about She-ra but also about Adora... it's better to lay the whole truth than to tell them a half a story... just talk from your heart" I look back at her and she nods gratefully
"Thank you (AC/N)... but I also should really try to turn into She-ra too" she laughs and I giggle and nod. She stands, takes the sword and walks back to the center of the garden, trying once more to transforms but unfortunately this time a light comes out of the sword and hits the horse
"Horsy " she screams worry. The Horse turns into a.....
'unicorn? Pegasus? '
"What the?" I stand up and walking towards the animal, but the horse freaks out and flies away and Adora run after the horse
"Adora wait... that way is the town" I say running after her. We get to the town and the horse is making a mess, destroying tents and knocking tables
'shit if they see her they are going to hurt her'
"Adora we need to go NOW" I take hold of her elbow but she is not listening to me, too worry about the flying horse to see the danger she was in. And just then the horse uses his winds and the wind blows away the cape Adora was using, revealing her to the town, only because her uniform, as a Horde soldier
'NO...no shit'
"HORDE SOLDIER" Everyone starts to scream and the guards start to attack Adora
"Wait, please stop she is not with the Horde anymore" I stand between Adora and the town, trying o stop then from hurting her
"(Y/N) stay away from the soldier, she will hurt you" General Wynonna commands, readying her squadron around us to arrest Adora
"No she won't...she is..." but I couldn't finish because Wynonna grabs my forearm and pulls me away from Adora and behind the barrier of Bright Moon's soldiers
"(AC/N)!!" Adora screams, stepping closer to me, to safe me, if the expression i was reading on her face was the one I thought but if she did that.... These people are going to hurt her. She needs to leave now before someone does something that we can't come back from
"Run Adora... Get away from here" I shout terrified, way too much fear in my voice and I could tell Adora thought the same and maybe because of that, was the only reason she gave me a nod that said I'll come back and then ran away as fast as she could
'I need to talk to the Queen '
