They were sunk back in to a bit more of an enjoyable reality as they sung and danced to the songs that blasted on the radio as they approached UCLA. Not that they wanted to be there, just having each other around was more enjoyable. "We are back," alex beamed with optimism as he looked at the crowded grounds as reagan just shook her head and got out
of the car.
"One day you might be excited to come back here and i'm gonna ignore you as well," alex grabbed his stuff from the seat and hastily unbuckled his seatbelt while also trying to scold reagan who only laughed at him and opened his door for him. "I'll never be excited to come back here," she sighed, watching as alex got up from the car still standing inches taller then reagan as she grabbed his hand.
The two of them were cheesy, not the type where you're too busy being stuck on each other that you ignore the world, but the kind of love that you don't wanna admit you want because you think you'd get made fun of. But they were content with each other, i mean obviously they were so alike in certain aspects.
"I like holding your hand," alex mumbled, his thumb caressing the outskirts of her hand as they approached the main halls ignoring the obnoxious students and groggy teachers. Reagan squeezed his hand in a response causing the boy to smile.
The approached the lecture hall they were both supposed to be in. The lecture seemed to have already started, the two of them walked in and rushed to there seat. "Welcome Alex and Reagan," he looked up at the two of them, noticing the clutched hands his eyes widened.
"Good morning," reagan smiled, and pulled her hand away to focus on the board. Alex frowned but then started to aimlessly doodle on his notebook.
The class went by faster then either of them had realized when they both tuned back in to heading the professor bid his farewells for the morning.
"Have a good day every one!" the professor cheered, "Reagan and Alex come here," the professor wavered over for them to come, they abided and headed towards him. "So when I suggested Miss.Ramirez be your tutor," he shuffled through his things and packing them into his small backpack, "didn't realize you liked her, no wonder you were mad," the professor teased looking up at the
two of them.
"Holy shit, that's like the whole reason we became friends," alex reminisced as if it were years ago. "And now you two are?" the professor asked, throwing his back on. "We are together sir," reagan responded the professor laughing.
"Cant say i'm shocked, you two are very similar from what I've seen, congratulations," he began to walk out the lecture hall bidding them both of a small goodbye. "My life has changed so much since that one day," reagan said in a small state of shock as she realized it all.
Alex grabbed her hand, "and i'm happy i get to be apart of it," he smiled as they walked out of the hall. The whole day feeling like a sort of day dream.

"Are we listening to clarity?" alex asked looking down at reagans phone as she was on aux, she looked over at him with a serious closed lip look and shook her head, "of course we are, it's fucking good," she began rocking her head to the song as alex tapped the wheel. The two of them pulling into reagans parking garage where they quickly left the car and headed up to the apartment.
Rreagan mumbled a curse as she fell to the couch, spreading her arms across the couch as her legs rested on alex's. "Wanna go out tonight?" reagan asked looking at alex, the small freckles on his cheeks taking her focus. He was quite a view she couldn't point out a single flaw as she looked at him.
Alex always looked at her that way, what flaw could she have. He played with the chain that hung low around his neck, "yeah i'll go," he looked down as she smiled widely. "Good," she replied as she turned on her side to watch the tv letting the noise send her into a quick nap.
After a few hours she felt a slight movement and her eyes shot opem, the natural light that once filled the room was now gone and the only light was from the TV. Reagans eyes fluttered up to see alex standing up, beside her as she sat up. Resting her head head on his lower stomach he began to run his fingers through her hair, "good morning," he chuckled lookinh down at the tired girl.
She looked up at him, a small smile forming on there faces as they made eye contact. "What time is?" she asked moving her head off of him and looking for her phone. The small tap you hear when you hit your phone to check the time filled her ears and she quickly turned around, "it's 2am reg," he shined the phone over at her, causing her to lift her arm and block her eyes.
"Chill," she laughed sitting up from the couch and stretching her arms. Alex wrapped his arms around her and picked her up onto her feet as she stretched. "Do you still wanna do the plan?" he asked watching as reagans face lit up. "It would've been better earlier, but we can go," she replied, grabbing the keys off the coffee table and throwing on her nearest pair of shoes.
"Don't you wanna change?" he looked at her as he threw a light jacket on. She nodded realizing she was still in jeans and a random tshirt she found. Running to her room quickly she threw on what she believed was alex's random hoodie he had left there and a pear of sweatpants. "Okay i'm ready," she said, grabbing her wallet and the keys as they headed outside.
Alex having mot a single clue where she wanted to go but still following behind her with an amused smile as excitement bloomed off of her as they finally tumbled down to the parking garage and some whag raced to the car. Reagan was keen on taking the drivers seat, thus leading to her surprisingly out running him as he panted leaning on the passager door.
Reagan fell into the drivers seat, holding her chest to catch her breath as alex fell to the passenger seat and grabbed the aux from her. Looking up he saw her scolding him, he stuck his tongue out as he plugged the phone in, "you drive i get aux, fair deal," he rolled his eyes as she flipped him off and continued to pull out and hit the california high ways.
About forty five minutes into the ride reagan looked over at him as american boy played again for what felt like the 8th time. Alex was sound asleep with his spotify open. She laughed, turning off the aux and opting for actual radio.

"Get up," she huffed with a gentle shove. Alex's eyes opened slowly but quickly widened when he realized he fell asleep in the car. He looked around, like a lost puppy as they were in the middle of nowhere. "Huh?" he hummed looking over at reagan, "just get out the car," she said with a small chuckle as she turned the car off, opening her door she almost immediately heard the waves crash.
Alex listened and got out the car. Almost immediately waking up as the wind brushed a
cool air along his neck causing goosebumps to
file onto his arm. "The beach?" he asked, letting the waves crashing fill his ears. "We gotta get closer," reagan said as she walked forward onto yhe path, alex turning his flashlight on so he can see better, he let her lead the way to an old raggedy stair case that they both stumbled down.
The waves crashing instantly gof louder as they met the ground, reagan quickly slipping off her shoes and letting the sand meet her skin. "Come on," she exclaimed gesturing with her hand to follow him. She ran for the water, letting it reach to right above her ankle, the cool water immediately putting her at ease.
The small branches cracking gave away where alex was as she turned around to see him approaching right behind her, flinching at the coldness of the water. "You wanted to go to the beach?" alex asked with a confused yet pleased tone. "I wanted to watch the sunset but we slept through that, but the moon on the horizon will make up for it," she responded turning her head to the water. They both looked out into the water letting it completely take there gazes as alex took a step closer, leaving no space between them as he slipped his hand into hers.
"Is this like our 'thing'?" reagan asked, looking down at the newly found warmth in her grasp as he squeezed her hand. "I'd like this to be our thing," he responded with a shrug and pulling her closer to him.
His arm snaking down to her waist as he turned her to face him. "Reagan.." he said with a hesitation there eyes looked into one another's. "Yeah alex?" she asked looking at his warm brown eyes. "I..lov..." she raised her finger to his lip gesturing him to be quiet. "You're not about to take this moment from me," she laughed as his eyes widened. He tilted his head to show confusion as she removed her finger.
"i love you," she said with a smile, watching as his face bloomed into confusion and happiness. "I love you too," he replied with a blushed smile, placing his hand on her cheek.
They removed the inches of space between them and sealed it with a kiss, one that made the whole world seem insignificant, just the two of them, the beach and the waves crashing.
