Spell check won't work :/ Author's note at the bottom, yo. :)

Max is officially crazy. He has some crazy idea that I am his human Barbie doll. Right now, I am standing in the middle of his room changing into a billion different outfits. It was time to make me "irresistable" to Nick. I'm not sure why Max is doing all this if Nick is our teacher anyway.

"Put this on," Max instructed me.

"Max, I don't want to do this any more. It's after midnight, and we have to get up early and look for jobs tomorrow," I whined.

Luke went home about an hour ago. Max threw all sorts of clothes at me. I don't know where they came from. They looked a little vintage. Maybe they were his mom's old ones.

"One more, Rufus. I swear, this is the one!" he exclaimed.

I sighed and grabbed the clothes he held out to me. I threw them on the bed while I pulled off the clothes I was wearing. I was happy to get them off because there were ugly and itchy. Something a grandma would wear.

I picked up the dress that was on the bed and tried to figure out which way it went. Max sighed and took it from me. He was kind of cranky so I knew he must be tired. He held it out to me and I slipped in. He zipped the back and I walked over to the mirror.

My jaw dropped when I looked at myself. The top was a tight, gray tanktop. Right below the chest, a small, black ribbon tied into a small bow. The bottom half of the dress poofed out a little. It was a cream color with tiny blue and black flowers spread all over the fabric.

"You look beautiful," Max said, walking up behind me and slipping his arms around my waist.

I looked at him through the mirror. My smile fell a little when I thought about the scares.

"I have it covered," Max said, knowing my thoughts.

"Okay," I said, stiffling a yawn.

Max kissed my hair and unzipped my dress. I slid out of it and put it on a hanger and placed it in his closet. I picked up one of Max's shirts and put it on.

"This is stupid," I told him as I climbed into bed.

"Nu uh." Max turned off the light. Moonlight illuminated everything. I smiled when he slid in bed and pulled me into his chest. "This is smart," he told me smiling.

"Do you like Luke a lot?" I asked, changing the subject.

Max brows came together a little. I smoothed out the skin between them with my index finger while he thought. "I do, maybe. I wan to know him more. I like what I know though."

Max ran his finger tips up and down my side. I snuggled into his chest and closed my eyes. I almost fell asleep listening to his steady breathing when his voice invaded my silence.

"He likes you..." Max told me softly. I'm guessing Nick was supposed to be the he.

I made some kind of noise. I don't really know what it sounded like because I fell asleep.

"Kiddo, wake up," a deep voice whispered in my ear. A hand was stroking the hair out of my face. I knew who it was by the shock that ran through my blood.

My eyes snapped open and I shot up into a sitting position. A deep, inticing chuckle spread through the room.

"What are you doing here?" I asked. My voice was a loud whisper.

"Well, I was sleeping, but now..." Nick shrugged.

I looked around the room. It was my room. The walls were lit up by a beautiful golden sun. My eyes flew to the purple makeup bag on my vanity. It was zipped. I let out a sigh of relief. I felt a shift on the mattress beside me. Nick pulled me into him.

Chills shot through me. I struggled to push away from his chest.

I froze when my hands met his chest. Fabric did not separate my hands and his bare body. My eyes drifted to the floor. A white t-shirt and a pair of jeans lay there. My eyes shot open and Nick laughed.

"Don't worry, Jail Bait. I just sleep in boxers," Nick informed me. He brushed my leg with his and chills formed all over me.

"Cold?" Nick asked. He ran his hand over my legs and pulled the covers up on me more with the other.

"You have to leave," I said. "How did you even get in here? How did I get in here?" I ran a hand through my hair.

"Kiddo, we had a study session last night, remember?" he asked with a sly grin on his face.

My jaw dropped. Had I somehow been transported into the future? "WHAT?"

"I was kidding. Well, sort of. I did tutor you, but nothing else. You said you wanted to wait until you turned 18. Well, guess what today is?" He pulled me into his chest.

I tried to push away, but he just laughed. "Jail Bait, no one will know. We're alone."

"Don't call me that, and leave me alone. You are my teacher. You don't even know me."

His features turned soft. He gently turned my face to his and the look in his deep brown eyes was indescribable.

"Let me get to know you," Nick said, cupping my cheek.

I shook my head. "Kiddo, I like you so far. I just want to, no, need to know more. Let me." He placed his other hand at the nape of my neck. It sent shivers down my spine.

My mind was yelling at me, but everything else in my body was telling me to get closer.

He pulled my head closer. When his breath was on my face, I closed my eyes.

Our noses touched and he stopped moving closer. "Are you sure?" he asked.

My head nodded without permission. My voice was unable to protest.

"Okay." His voice came out strained, in a whisper. Hi moved his head closer, closer. Finally, our lips brushed and electric shocked me. We both pulled back a centimeter. We were already breathing hard. He moved back in, slowly. Our lips brushed and it was intense. I tried to pull back and steay my breathing a little more, but the hand on the back off my neck stopped me.

Nick pulled me into him. His lips were on mine and moving slowly, gently. At first, I was too stunned by how soft his lips were to kiss back. He smiled on my lips, then playfully bit my bottom one. My eyes flew open and he pulled back to laugh.

"Jail Bait, you can kiss back if you want," he joked.

I didn't have a chance to reply before he closed the space between us again. This kiss was different. We both moved out lips together. It was like we melted into eachother. My fingers twisted in his hair.

I parted my lips a little, licking his bottom one. He smiled on my lips again. When did I become so confident?

He parted his lips. I let him take control from there. He moved his hands to my hips.

I moved mine to his cheeks. He bit my lip and pulled back a little.

He placed his forehead on mine. We were both breathing hard. Nick moved his head and kissed my forehead. He pulled me onto his lap and held me. He rested his cheek on my head and wrapped his arms around my waist. "Kiddo, I like you."

Well, I'd hope so.

"A lot. So, please, stop pushing me away. I want to be around you; I want to get to know you, just let me."

My voice was buried in my stomach. I didn't know what to say. Heck, I didn't even know what was going on.

He picked up one of my hands out of my lap and kissed it. He placed it back in my lap and tilted my head towards him. He kissed my nose and smiled at me.

"We can do this Jail Bait."

He leaned down and gently pressed his lips to mine. The shocks were still there, but they weren't as painful. These new ones filled me with happiness. I couldn't help but smile every time he touched me.

"I lov-" Nick was cut off by something, someone, yelling.

"Gosh, Kye, wake up!" that someone yelled. I tried to focus on the kiss, but Nick started pulling away.

"KYLER ALLEN CAST, WAKE UP!" they yelled again.

My eyes opened. I was in Max's bed. "What?" I asked, rubbing my eyes.

Max was smirking at me. "Dreaming?"

I rolled my eyes.

"You talk in your sleep you know," Max informed me. "Oh, Nick, I love you!" Max exclaimed in a mock girl voice.

My eyes widened. Did I really talk in me sleep?

Max burst out laughing. "I was joking, but it seems like you actually were!"

"Psh, no," I said, not looking him in the eye.

He laughed again. "Alright, fine, but we have to get ready. We have to be out of the house in about two hours."

I jumped out of bed and headed towards the bathroom.

I took a long shower. My bruises were lighter today. They were a lavender color with some green mixed in. My body didn't hurt a lot though.

I let the warm water run down me. It felt good.

I got out and wrapped a large towel around myself.

"And hey darling. I hope you're good tonight..." I sang to myself, walking back to Max's room.

"Here you go, Roof," Max said, throwing an outfit at me. I caught the clothes and looked over them.

The shirt had been a present from Max a couple of months ago. It was light blue and had baby Carlos from The Hangover in a papoose on it. I smiled and held it up. "I can't wear this to an interview."

He laughed. "Why not? I've already decided where we're going to apply and you can wear that."

"Where are we applying?" I asked.

"Secret," he said with a wink.

I rolled my eyes and smiled at him. I grabbed the clothes and undergarments and headed back to the bathroom. Along with a tight white Under Amour shirt and baby Carlos, I was wearing light blue cut offs. They came right above my knees. I decided that wearing my white slip on Vans would go perfectly. They were in Max's closet I think....

I walked out of the bathroom and back to Max's. I took my usual seat at his closet mirror and started working on my makeup.

"Don't put a lot on. I like natural on you," Max said, ruffling my hair.

"Hmph. With this on my face, I think not," I said, poiting to my eye. The bruise on my other eye was lighter. Barely noticable.

Max leaned down and kissed my shoulder. "I'm sorry, Kye."

I bumped my head with his and he looked at me. "Not your fault," I smiled. I rubbed his nose with mine and it made him laugh.

"Get ready," he said, tickling my side then standing and walking out of his room.

I tried to put on as little foundation as possible, but I still had to cake it on. I decided to go for a glowing look today. I applied bronzer on my cheeks, forehead, chin, and the bridge of my nose. I blended it together and then started on my eyes.

I put a shiny light blue color on my lids. I put a white color below my brow and in the wet part closest to my nose.

"MAX!" I yelled. I heard a muffled 'Yeah.' come from the bathroom. "Shirt color?"

"Purple!" he replied.

I nodded. Purple could work. I had a light lavender color that would go perfectly with the glowy thing I had going. I place it under my eyes. It was on my bottom lid. I lined them with blue eyeliner.

I smiled at myself in the mirror. I applied a coat of clear lip gloss and skipped to the bathroom for Max's approval.

I knocked on the door and told him it was me. I heard the water running, so I knew he was still in the shower.

"Come in," he said.

I went into the bathroom. He was in the shower, like I thought. "Do I look okay?"

He peeked his head out of the shower curtain. He smiled when he saw me. "You look beautiful."

I smiled at Max. He had been through so much with me, and he didn't care. I could kill a person and he would stick up for me, help me. I walked further into the bathroom and kissed his cheek. He smiled at me.

A few seconds passed and I realized Max was showering. "Oh, my gosh, sorry, Max. This is so awkward. Crap, you're in the shower." I hid my eyes even though I knew he wasn't showing anything.

Max laughed. "Rufus, it wasn't awkward until you said it was. Oh, and thanks for informing me I was in the shower. I though it was raining in the house."

I frowned at him even though he had closed the curtain and couldn't see me.

I turned and walked out of the bathroom, grabbing a pop tart as I walked through the kitchen. I headed into Max's parents' bathroom, nibbling on the pop tart.

I finished eating and then brushed out my hair. I curled it in little curls and added a white headband.

I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. I looked nice. Maybe Max and I could do something after the interview thingy.

I skipped to Max's room, humming A Day to Remember. That song gets stuck in your head.

I walked into the room to find Max with a towel wrapped around his waist. He was looking through his drawers. I was in an eerily good mood. I tried to be as quiet as I could walking into his room. His back was to me and I wanted to sneak up on him.

I was two steps away from him when he chuckled. I sighed and wrapped my arms around his waist. I rested my cheek on his bare back. He rubbed my hands.

I hummed to the song and we stood there for a few moments.

Max turned to me, but my arms were still wrapped around him. "What am I going to do with you?" he asked, poking my nose.

"Love me," I smiled up at him.

"I already do that," he said, gently flicking my forehead.

I crinkled my nose. I felt lips on my cheek and I pulled Max closer to me. I know that I spend everyday with him, but I missed him.

"I miss you, Max," I told him.

He chuckled and scooped me up. He was carrying me wedding style. He walked to the bed and threw me on it. "I miss you, too, Kye," he said.

I laughed and sat up on the bed. I motioned for Max to come to me and he did.

He sat right beside me and ran his finger over my jaw line over and over again.

I smiled at him. "What am I supposed to do with you?" I asked him.

His eyes lit up. They became bright blue and I could have looked at them forever. "Figure it out," he said, a giant smirk on his face.

I faked a gag and he laughed. "You are gross," I said.

He rubbed his nose on my cheek and laughed. "You love it."

"I do," I laughed. I kissed the side of his lip.

"Risky..." Max laughed. He pulled me by my waist to him more. I laughed. He knew how ticklish I was there.

He pulled me into his chest.. "Creep," I said.

"At least I'm your age," he said. I rolled my eyes and he laughed. "Kidding, sorry." He grinned sheepishly.

I smiled. Nick jokes didn't bother me, I mean, why would they? We weren't together and Max didn't mean it.

His lips were at my neck. I laughed and turned my head to the side. His teeth nibbled on my ear and I giggled, pushing his head away. "Stop," I said, running my fingers through his hair.

"Stop what? This?" He bit my ear again.

I laughed. "When do we have to go?"

That made Max pause. He looked at the clock and his eyes got wide. "We have to be there in an hour!" he exclaimed.

"And?" I asked. What was his deal?

"The place is an hour away!"

I got what his deal was now. We both got up. I ran to the bathroom while he changed in his room. I plastered toothpaste on our toothbushes and shoved mine in my mouth. I brushed quickly and then rinsed. I shoved Max's toothbrush in his mouth while he brushed his hair. He ran a hand through it to make it messy.

I ran to his closet and pulled out my white cardigan.

I put it on as Max and I ran to the car.

We drove in silence. Max sped a little and I felt like silence made us move faster. We made it to the next town over in record time. Finally, I decided to break the silence.

"Where are we going?" I asked, turning the volume to the radio up a little.

"I told you, it's a secret. All you need to know is that your dad will definately not find you there," he said, keeping his eyes on the road.

I sighed and let the music fill the silence.

Finally, after about half an hour, we pulled into the parking lot of a cute little bakery.

"Max, if we were late, why would we stop at a bakery?" I asked, looking at him like he was dumb.

"This is the place, smart one." He flicked my forehead and my face turned a little red.

I nodded and we both exited the car. The bakey was made out of brick. It was a nice tan color. There were windows on either side of the green door. The shutters were green on the windows and even the little sign above the door was the same sage color. It looked more like a comfy little cottage in the woods than a bakery.

"It's cute!" I giggled. I ran my fingers along the smoot brick until we came to the door. "How'd you find this place?" I asked Max, who was a few steps behind me.

He twirled me around and pushed my back against the side of the bakery. His face was inches from mine and he was smirking. "I have connections."

I rolled my eyes and gave him a look that said "stop being dumb".

"My grandma owns it. Not many people work here and our job is in the back. Your dad won't even see us if he does decide to check this place out," Max said, poking the end of my nose.

"Hm, good thinking, Max," I said, patting his cheek.

Max stepped away from me and opened the door to the bakery. He held it open for me.

I grabbed his hand and offered him a huge smile when we entered. The little shop smelled incredible. Cookies, brownies, bread, rolls, and all sorts of things were in cute little baskets on the counter. The wooden floors were a golden color. The fire in the corner gave everything an orange tint. The whole roomed seemed to glow. It reminded me of Christmas.

"Look!" I whispered to Max. I pointed to the side door that you couldn't see from the front. There was a little pond and some chairs spread around it. The ground around the pond was bright green grass, but the chairs were on sand.

Max chuckled. "I'm glad you like it." He squeezed my hand.

"Have a seat! I'll be right with you!" a voice said. It came from the sage doors behind the counter. Gold, tan, and sage were the color schemes I'm guessing.

Max led me to tall table. He scooted my chair out for me and climbed on. My feet didn't reach the ground. Max sat across from me and I looked around again. Three tall, black tables were spread around the small room. Two black chairs at each table.

"This may just be the cutest little place I have ever seen," I told Max, sweeping my eyes across everything again, but coming to a stop at his brilliant blue orbs.

"You are weird, Kye," he laughed, shaking his head.

"I am no-"

"MAX! I haven't seen you in, how long has it been, three months?" a kind voice said from behind me. I turned to see Max's grandma. I had only seen her once, in eighth grade, for about as long as it takes to walk from his driveway to his front door. She had never seen me.

Max walked over to her and gave her a hug. She was tiny. I had about an inch on her and I was the shortesrt person I knew. Her white hair was tied up into a ballerina bun on the top of her head. She was wearing a long, baby blue dress with white flowers on it. The sleeves were puffed out and she had a white apron with blue flowers on to match. She was a little plump, but fit the description of a grandma/bakery owner perfectly.

"Ah, Max," she said, letting go of him and walking over to me. I had gotten out of my chair, but was just standing awkwardly behind them. "She is beautiful." She placed my hands in her own and squeezed them. Her hands were warm.

"Thank you," I said in a tiny voice with a shy smile.

"I'm Ellie, but you can call me Nana Elle."

"I'm Ky-"

"Darling, I know who you are. Max talks about you all the time." I looked over to find Max's cheeks a little red. I giggled.

"Well, you two should head into the kitchen. I'm baking for a wedding and bridezilla will be here in two hours for her cake samples. I have marked the pages in the cook book and set out all your stuff. I'm going to sit out by the pond. My old bones can't handle all these witches that are getting ready for a wedding in the summer. Back in my day...." Nana Elle grumbled as she walked out of the bakery.

"She is... awesome," I told Max. His cheeks were still a little pink, but he had recovered from the embarrassment.

"Yeah, yeah. She's not your grandma," he said, running a hand through his hair.

We walked behind the counter together and pushed through the sage door. This is where the color scheme stopped. Now, everything was white. From applienses to floor, it was all white.

"Who else works here?" I asked, noting no one was in the kitchen.

"I have no idea. I don't get to see Nana Elle that much. Last time I saw her, she was just opening this shop. We talk on the phone, but 'Business is left out of family matter.'" he said, talking like an old lady.

I laughed at him. What a weirdo. "Let's get started."

I opened the cook book. There were seven pages marked. Max decided we would be able to put two cakes in the over at the same time and there were two ovens, so we could get this done in time.

I started on one cake while Max mixed another. We had a nice little system going on. We placed them in the oven and then mixed another two. We had four done and cooling while the other three were baking in forty-five minutes. We high fived and decided to take a quick break before we iced the four cakes.

We chatted a bit, but I couldn't stop thinking. This was the best my life has been in a while. I had an amazing friend, my dad wasn't around, I found people who treated me like family, and I had an awesome job. I still felt empty though. I wanted to see my dad. I missed him. Getting hit by him was kind of like a hug in my life. I don't know how to explain it, but even though he isn't caring or completely sane, I want to be around him.

Then there was Nick. I seriously could not get him out of my mind. His brown eyes burned a permanent picture in my brain. That dream felt all too real last night. I wonder if we would ever do that...

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Max POV~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Her eyes were squinted and she hadn't answered my question so I knew she was thinking. I think Kye's thoughts are the most dangerous thing in her life. She analyzes far too much. I wish I could help her. I feel bad, but I do have a little surprise for her. I know it's wrong for me to try and get Kyler and Nick together, not only because he's a cocky little... Anyway, she likes him. I can tell. I think he likes her too. I mean, I heard what he said in the park last night and there was something, something in his eyes. I don't know.

Anyway, I did ask my Nana Elle who worked here last night when I called to tell her my girlfriend needed a job and we would like to work together. I also said that we would like to be alone. That's beside the point, Nick worked here on the weekends. I guess a teacher's salary isn't enough. Some other lady worked here too, but she was in her forties. I guess she called in today.

I didn't want Kyler to know because I knew she wouldn't want to work here. If they could just spend a while together where he wasn't pushing himself on her and they weren't arguing, then maybe something could be there. Plus, I am here to stop him from being such a....

However, Kye and I can't work for the rest of the weekend. I don't want Nick seeing her until I get Operation Irresistable going. I honestly don't know why I am doing this. I guess because I want Kyler to be happy. If she's happy with him, then, I suppose, I will help get them together.

I wonder what Luke is doing right now?

Yes, I wonder what Luke is doing right now?  Hmm, I guess you guys will find out later.  Max is a secretive little turd, isn't he?

Spell check won't work and niether will word... what a mess I have written.  Forgive my mistakes and unorganization.  This chapter is all over the place and it took me a good 12 hours to write. Inspiration please??

Softball games start in less than a month, so updates will be VERY scarce.  I have a game everyday for over two months (minus sundays). I am excited for summer though. I can upload a lot more.  I am extremely bored right now, so I am going to post 10 random facts about me on my story thingy that I use for anything and everything.

COMMENT AND VOTE PLEASE! Tell me what YOU think will happen between Nick and Kye.... or Kye and her dad. Whichever you prefer... Maybe both. I dont care.
