"We're gonna get through this," Jade mumbled hugging me tightly but I just stayed quiet
"I'm sorry," I whispered
"You ain't got nothing to be sorry about baby."
"Yes, I do I couldn't even carry our baby."
"Nah life happened but baby we're gonna have another kid somebody maybe it just wasn't our time." He said trying to make me feel better
"Yeah maybe," I whispered going to lie down
"I love you Shaniyah and I'm always gonna be here."
"I know."
I lost our baby and I felt sad I imagined us having a small little family but now that was just gone. Laya and I haven't spoken since she accused me of lying about carrying a child And yes she was right but I don't know who she thought she was accusing me of that bullshit I know it was wrong but I could feel Jade pulling a way and I needed him to be close again plus that stupid bitch Eliana was always around it's like I couldn't catch a break
"We're gonna get through this." He whispered and I didn't respond I just snuggled closer into his body
"What is that?" I asked pushing myself away from him when I heard loud bangs from the front door
"What the fuck." He cursed when we heard Ashton start to cry because of the banging so I went to go grab him
"Shh poppa." I said trying to calm him down but the loud bangs continued making his cries increase
𝐎𝐦𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭
"Police open the door"
"Jade what the fuck?" Shaniyah asked rocking Ashton trying to calm him down
"It's gonna be okay." He mumbled trying to block out Ashton's loud cries while grabbing the boxes and bags filled of drugs running to the bathroom pouring them into the toilet but they kept clogging, he couldn't think straight between Ashton's loud cries, Shaniyahs questions and the banging of the door his head was spinning
"Jade what's going on?" Shaniyah asked once more but he just kept on mumbling in Audible words and shaking his head
"Jade!" She cried
"What?" He asked looking up at her
"Why is there police outside?" And just as he was about to answer the door busted opening followed by swards of police men with guns as the restrained Jade, pressing one knee in his neck while two of them grabbed Ashton from his mothers hand making Shaniyah go crazy leading to them to pepper spraying her in the eyes
"Let go of her!" Jade shouted his voice getting horse but they ignored him pressing their knee deeper into his neck
"I-I can't breath!" He cried but his pleas were ignored
"I-I can't breath." He begged but once again they ignored him tightening his hand cuffs
"Da da!" Ashton cried but the guard holding him tightened their grip making him cry out
"Shut up you filthy nigger." One of the police officers mumbled but everyone in the room heard him
Jades eyes began to close and through her blurry eyes Shaniyah saw making her cry out begging for them to check on him but they ignored her. Jades eyes closed and she feared they'd never open again
Maybe this was the end.. there was no redemption for them after all.

"Well have you spoken to your dad or someone?" Shaniyah ask through the glass
"Nah, how's my sons?" He asked looking at her little bump
"Ashton's been acting up and Jake is being fussy." She complained rubbing her sore stomach
"He's growing." He said with a smile looking at her with a sad smile
"I-I can't do this by myself." She whispered and he knew this was bound to happen
"I know it's hard but Niyah I need you." He was facing 25 to life he needed her
"Well I need you I can't raise two kids let alone two boys by myself I'm sorry but I can't and i won't." She snapped annoyed even though Her mother, father, jades dad and his grandmother were helping her out it wasn't enough Mainly because she couldn't dump Ashton on them randomly
"What am I supposed to do?" He asked annoyed
"I don't know but I can't do this Jade." She mumbled grabbing Ashton's hand
"Wait Shaniyah man please." He called but she kissed her teeth grabbing Ashton roughy walking away making him shout calling for her but she refused to acknowledge him
"Shaniyah!" He barked but the guards grabbed him
"Calm down 76." The caucasian guard growled
"Man shut the fuck u"- he didn't get to finish before he was being slammed into the table
𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐲𝐚𝐡 𝐖𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬
"You ain't tell him." Keon asked lifting Ashton up and down but he kept crying and trying to hit him
"There's nothing to tell." I mumbled popping Ashton when he tried to hit him again
"Stop!" I shouted grabbing him but he kept twisting his body crying so I just threw him on the floor out of frustration
"Go to your fucking room or something man." Keon barked making him run upstairs
"Finally." I said still annoyed sitting down
"I'm sleepy." I complained.
"My son got you wearied out." He said pulling me into him and I couldn't help but blush
"Stop." I said pushing him away.
I am four months pregnant and well Keon believes it's his baby but I'm honestly not sure I hope it's Jades and if not I hope it looks like me
"Why you bugging that nigga locked up for life."
"His family is not going to accept this."
"Fuck them" he said grabbing me by my throat
"It's not that easy Keon."
"Yes it is you just tryna be a peace maker." He mumbled pushing me away from him
"You just don't get it." I said ignoring Jades dads calls. I don't have time for their bullshit

"Have you spoken to her?" Jade asked his dad
"No she hasn't been answering my calls and Rashuard hasn't seen her in weeks now." Jade sighed knowing any minute he would snap
Shaniyah had been ignoring all his letters, calls and anyone related to him, it's been almost a month since he's heard his sons voice and god knows it was getting to him
"How's mama?" He asked changing the subject
"She's sad but she's hanging in here and she wants to see you soon." Cheryle was upset that he took the route his father and grandfather took but she couldn't find it In her heart abandon him not when he needed her most
"That's good." He said breathing in trying not to let his emotions get to him
"Ion wanna hear that shit Jade, you got this we gonna get you out of there soon." He said firmly and it was true the police violated multiple laws when they arrested him they weren't looking for him to get out free of all charges but 25 to life wasn't it
"Yeah." He mumbled lowly
"You hearing me Jade?"
"Yes pops." He repeated but louder
"I've got to go but I love you son."
"Love you too old man." He joked before hanging up and walking back to his cell
The inmates didn't give him much trouble a few tried him when he first arrived but he showed them that he was not to be played with, it was just the guards they treated them like they were animals and yes a few well a lot of the inmates acted like that but it was just a cycle they came in human but when being treated like a piece shit for so long you only accepted the roll and become a piece of shit and god knows he was doing everything in his power not to fall into that cycle because he had two sons outside and he couldn't let the system take him too... but what If it already did because this was the same tale of every young African American man in America.
