Under the dim moonlight, a figure stands atop the Favonius Cathedral. Their dark hair tinted with the color of blood was blown by the wind, his crimson and obsidian eyes covered by his bangs. The hood that was previously over his head was blown off, yet it only unveiled his pensive expression.

"Tsk... Making ey deal with the contract. Can't he understand that it had already been fulfilled 3 years ago?" He questioned, jumping of the cathedral, landing on the ground with a soft thud. He easily evaded the two vision holders of cryo and pyro patrolling around the city.

"I'm just checking."

He heard an identical voice, making him scoff quietly.

Alastor was an immortal being, once trapped within a timeless realm of black and white. Before the birth of the contract demon, was a child deprived of a mother's love and the warmth of family. That child manifested a darker personality, soon growing into his own alter ego. That ego became the personification of his dark side once the child became the demon of contracts.

Within Alastor were Jekyll and Hyde. The names were denominated onto them by the abyss order, which gradually learned to fear those names. They became accustomed to it, but we're still known as the immortal demon of Contracts, Alastor.

Both prided in being 'Alastor'. Hoping one day they could become one and never split apart.

Entering the knights of Favonius headquarters, he easily slipped into the corridor that contained the knight's dorms. Alastor, controlled by the ego Hyde, halted at the last door.

Hyde sighed, narrowing his eyes at the door. His hand glowed faintly, before hearing a satisfying click of the door. Humming in thought, he carelessly entered the room and gently closed the door. Glancing towards the sleeping occupant he chuckled, opening the window and sitting on the comfy chair.

He watched as the room's occupant shivered, slowly getting up from their slumber and rubbing their eye tiredly. Soon, blue-lilac eyes found their way to him, widening in surprise.

"Long time no see, Kaeya."

The cavalry captain of the knights of Favonius. No one would have expected that he had summoned the contract Demon's and made a deal with them. An Arcanum contract that he wished would not be revealed, especially to his brother.

"Ah! Mr. Contract demon, what brings you here in this fine night?" Kaeya asked, resuming his usual charming exterior but he was visibly embarrassed to be seen in his pajamas and with such disheveled hair. He grabbed for his eye patch, and quickly placed it over his eye, smiling tiredly at the unexpected visitor.

"Just wanted to check-in. A friend of mine urged me to check up on you, well regarding our contract."

Kaeya flinched, though began to look closely at Alastors appearance. When they had first met, he had looked exactly the same, excluding the clothing, as his current appearance. Yet when he encountered him with the traveler, his hair was more tinted blue and his eyes were the color of the sky. The one he was looking at now was incredibly different from the one before.

Alastor caught on to Kaeya's pensive suspicions, smiling lazily at the navy-haired man. Resting his elbow on the armchair, his cheek was pressed against his palm. He reminisced how he first met the current Cavalry captain, remembering how the boy was more quiet and meek compared to how he was in the present.

Long ago, Kaeya Alberich was a person who did not speak much, along with his choice of clothing that was usually sophisticated clothing the covered his body. Occasionally he was shy but became quite eccentric and cheery as he grew.

After the incident, Kaeya Alberich became who he was today. Almost contradicting his previous self. Charming, sly, and quite flirty. With his cunning mind, he was the brain of Ordo Favonius. But what Alastor would comment on the change was his clothing. Honestly, he once never wore any revealing clothing yet now he bears his chest to the world!

"Don't worry. I only wanted to confirm it for them. They were quite doubtful with me." Alastor chuckled, smiling indulgently. He felt nostalgic, yet quite upset. Alastor had an only slightly taller than average height, and seeing the 'child' that used to stand equal in height with him tower over his figure, he couldn't help but sigh in defeat.

With his immortality, he lost the ability to let his body grow.

"Y-Yes..." Kaeya coughed, his face gradually becoming red. Alastor's blank stare unnerved him, but he was more embarrassed due to his current state.

"You have fulfilled your part by helping me take a bit of revenge, and I continue my promise of informing you about the dangers of Monstadt."

Revenge.

Yes, that was what the contract was made for. In order to soothe his rage for the Fatui that had forced his adoptive father's demise, he had summoned Alastor to help him do so. The contract demon agreed after some explanation and negotiation, though he would have helped without the contract.

The Fatui had intruded on Monstadt and staged an action to place them in debt towards their harbinger, 'Ill Dottore'. The moment he had felt Ursa Drake being summoned to some mortals, Alastor, the ego Jekyll was ready to pounce on the dragon.

It wasn't until the chaos of leylines did he enter a comatose was able to exact the revenge Kaeya desired. It was selfish and greedy, but the Cavalry captain had the misfortune of encountering not the 'lesser evil' of Alastor, he first met the 'greater evil' instead.

"Well, that's good! Inform me more regarding the Fatui then, alright? I'll be staying in the mortal's realm because of my journey with Aether now." Alastor hummed, smiling fondly at the memory of the blonde boy. Though Hyde was the greater evil, he still was a part of Alastor.

Kaeya clenched his fist, balling some of his blankets as he pursed his lips. He would be lying that he didn't envy the outlander for being the contract Demon's companion, gradually becoming upset at the mere sight of the demon with Aether. He wanted to be in his place. He wanted to be by Alastor's side.

Yet he could not will himself to do so.

He was surprised to feel a hand rest on his shoulder, and a warm pair of lips pressing against his forehead. Kaeya began to madly blush, listening to the amused chuckle Alastor released.

"You've grown up so much better than I expected. To think the little boy that once clung to me became such a bold and sly man. How fitting." Alastor whispered, and Kaeya couldn't help but reminisce.

"Sweet dreams Kaeya."

With those words, Kaeya could only watch as Alastor became soft flames that escaped through his window. He was still stunned and held his forehead where he could still feel the kiss Alastor hand planted.

His lips curved into a soft and loving smile,

"Good night, Alastor."

.

Black and white surrounded them, the only colors seen were the elements from visions. The two sat atop a branch on the remnants of Vanessa, the symbol of Monstadt's hero. The soft breeze flew around them, carrying a soft comfort for them.

Time stood still, as a butterfly and bird stayed mid-air without flapping their wings. The breeze around them was almost artificial, only they could feel it as the leaves and branches did not sway to the breeze.

"You're quite fond of him."

The lesser evil, Jekyll commented. He glanced at the greater evil, Hyde with an expectant look. He expected some sort of explanation to the affection of a contractor. It was uncommon for them to have such care for their contractors, usually discarding them as vessels to enter the human realm.

"He's... He just seems quite loveable for me."

"Kaeya Alberich and loveable are not supposed to go together. The man's a flirt and alcoholic, how is that loveable!" Jekyll scoffed, remembering the times he had seen the man enter a tavern at early in the noon.

However, Jeckyll knew he was deluding himself. Kaeya was, indeed, lovable when he last saw him.

"Hey! You've seen what that boy looked like when he was a child. Don't tell me you didn't find him cute." Hyde chuckled, enjoying the rare moment of them getting along. Both evils would usually argue and bicker among one another like twins, but these moments were when they could peacefully resonate.

Alastor was separated into two egos. Those egos soon became to know one another and act like twins rather than the same person. They were called 'evils' since neither considered themselves 'good'. However one was less than the other when it came to being malevolent and diabolical.

"Anyways. We'll have to go to Liyue soon." Hyde sighed, scratching his head. Even with the alter egos, both were still the same person. Neither wanted to come near Liyue, thus they stopped themselves from passing through the stone gate every single time.

"For Aether." The greater evil joked, pretending to raise a glass of wine. His counterpart chuckled wryly, leaning back on the tree.

"For Aether." Jekyll jokingly followed, quietly clapping at Hyde's comment.

"Ah~ If any of those three women were still here they'd scold us." Jekyll chuckled, tilting his head to the side. His smile filled with nostalgia, his heart filled with warmth at the thought of two companions now gone.

"Yeah... They were like our moms and older sisters..." Hyde thought out loud, pulling his legs up to the branch and hugging his knees. Unlike his counterpart who smiled at the memory, he frowned quietly.

"That bastard was too weak... He couldn't protect her." Hyde grumbled, his arms trembling in fury.

Jekyll grabbed his wrist, narrowing his eyes at his counterpart. He yanked the gloves off his hands, to reveal his skin turning black with red markings over them. He shivered at them, not because of the meaning of this effect, but because they resembled Rex Lapis's arms.

"Calm down already. Look. Your infernal form is showing."

The infernal form of the contract demon. Their arms would turn black with crimson and blaze-colored markings over them. The infernal forms would appear if the contract demon would feel extreme rage or negative emotions. It was never a good sign, to them and to the others around them.

Hyde took in a deep breath, quietly whimpering at the tight grip on his wrist. He pulled away from his arm, frowning at himself as Jekyll sighed exasperatedly.

"Calm down before we burn Windrise."

author's note;

It may begin to be confusing for your reader's now with the POV between 'Jeckyll' and 'Hyde'. I'm not going to into their backstories just yet, but just to clear up confusion in the future, I will explain how you can understand...

When I refer to them as 'Alastor' that ego is the one in control. But if their counterpart interjects, and I call them by the name Abyss order gave them, then whichever 'evil' is the one not in control will have italics for their dialogue.

Subtle hints with which is their hair and eyes.

Jekyll, (the Alastor mostly present), has bluish hair and yellow and blue eyes. He's the lesser evil.

Hyde, on the other hand, has reddish hair, and black and red eyes. He's the greater evil between the two.

So, I hope you can get used to it!! (≧▽≦)
