Hitting his shoulder, I felt a bit relived that he didn't get hurt that much. I could see the students glaring at us as they walked to their lockers in the locker room. I packed up all the cotton and antibiotics back into the box and got up.

"You won't need this then. I'll send it back." With a sharp nod from him, I saw Catherine marching towards us. After dropping by the nursing room, I moved back to them. Catherine smiled when she saw me approaching.

"Since you're both here, can you explain that?" I chuckled and hit his shoulder again. He shoved his body aside to dodge my hit. Catherine started laughing seeing him lively with me. "Do we need to explain though?" I asked blinking my eyes while folding my lips. It was a long story and I don't like telling stories too.

Tapping his shoulder, Catherine sat beside him. "It looks like you're not up to it. I'll tell you instead."

Adrian turned to me with a curious look before turning back to her. "I was the first daughter of our mother. Due to the prophecy of someone from our family line destroying him, he kidnapped me when I was at the amusement park with our parents. That's how I ended up with you guys." Looking around in circles, he rolled his tongue.

"So you're trying to say you're the one who can end his life?" I cleared my throat and sat by them too. "That's when I come in the picture! It's me instead. He kept her alive only after finding out she wasn't the one. He came back for me, and that's how our dad died. That's the reason why mom never settled in one city."

Nodding after putting the puzzle together, he looked at both of us with a short laughter. "Who would have thought I was entangled with two sisters. So what are you going to do? Will you go back to Ian?"

She nodded and turned to me with a sad look. "He changed our place multiple times after you left for fear of ratting his activities to the police. I can't tell you out exact location because we're blindfolded on the way. But I'll try to find out."

Stretching my neck to glare at her, she pushed my head away and laughed. "Don't worry. He won't do anything to me. He still needs me to read the spell books. Speaking of which, make sure you protect it well."

Lowering my eyes, I now understand why he didn't kill her after finding out and didn't turn her into a vampire like his other puppets. "Alright. I'll leave you two. We'll talk more tomorrow."

As we watched her get up, I traced her movements as she walked out on us. I still felt uneasy about letting her go back to him. "Don't worry about her. She's a tough girl. I've known her for nine years."

Curving my eyebrows, I got up and began walking to the locker room for my books. "What's with you? Wait for me!" I opened the locker door and threw all my books in smiling at the empty content.

"Don't worry, I'll finish the project by tomorrow," Adrian promised holding my hand. Turning to him after he held my hand, I forced a smile and nodded. "I can't believe I'm the only one who remembers!" As his eyes blinked, I proceeded marching out of the school.  "Remembers what?"

Gritting my teeth, I banged the exit door in his face. He quickly opened the door and run after me. "Meeting you in the hospital. You were cute, unlike now." Laughing at my comment, he tried to keep pace with me while I walked to the bus station.

"What hospital? Was it yesterday?" I shook my head and sat on the lovers bench waiting for the next bus. "Fifteen years ago. When your parents admitted you to their workplace." His eyes fell in thoughts trying to remember anything like that. His head moved when he remembered something.

"You're right. I almost forgot about that. Were you that little girl who was bullied by her classmates?" Turning to him irritated, I returned a nod. He sat back against the relaxed part of the bench and glared down deep in thoughts. "Didn't expect that. So we knew each other from then."

Moving my head back, I took a short glimpse of him remembering another detail. "What about that issue with your hand? Is it alright now?" He didn't respond to my question. As he threw his eyes over his arm, he suddenly turned to me.

"It's weird. I don't remember why I had that. But I don't feel the uneasiness like before." When the bus stopped in front of me, I got up and picked my bag.

But when I saw him following me to the bus, I returned a curious gaze. "I'm going with you. I'm still hurt and you're the reason I left the hospital abruptly." Smiling at one side if his mouth, I shook my head and stepped into the bus. He followed after and sat beside me.

"So this is how sitting in a bus is like?" he commented. I rolled the window slot and looked out breathing the air with my eyes closed. "Are you ignoring me now?" Although I didn't reply his question, he laughed nevertheless.

I plucked my earpiece and fixed it in my ears. Sighing, he relaxed his head on the seat all along the ride. When my legs shook from the honk, I took the earpiece off and stepped out. He quickly followed after me.

As I walked towards my house, my phone beeped. Seeing a message from the police officer, I lowered my eyes. "New update. Meet me during the weekend." I locked the door after stepping into my house. Throwing myself on the sofa, Max looked around my house.

"Anything edible available?" Moving back, I curved my lips. "I thought you didn't like eating as a vampire." Rubbing my hair playfully, he sighed. "Not for me, you!" He walked into the kitchen to get something while I turned on the television.

Every station seemed to be broadcasting the same news about staying indoors due to an upcoming earthquake and snow storm in a few minutes.

I closed my eyes falling on the sofa. Tricia called my name out crying. I jumped up, sighing realizing it was a short dream. "Are you alright?" I nodded and changed the station again, but it was all the same.

We looked at each other curiously turning back to the television. After placing a cup of tea with a hamburger on my table, I looked up. "Please stay in your homes. Do not come out under any circumstances.

Wherever you are now, lodge there for the meantime till further notice." Frustrated by this news, I turned the television off before checking outside. They were completely right. It was snowing so heavily outside. My phone beeped as I kept looking around. "You have a notification." Closing the windows, I picked my phone from the table and read the message.

It was from an unknown number again. But seeing the picture of Tricia, I panicked for a moment. "Get to the location below with the items if you want her alive."

Stepping back, the phone fell out of my hands. He cannot hurt her. She's safe home, right?

"Are you okay?" Adrian asked. I nodded and got down to pick up my phone. But his threat kept on bugging me.

Due to the fall, my phone got drained of its battery. I placed it on charge and turned to Adrian. "Adrian, can I borrow your phone for a call?"  He took it for me and nodded. I dialed Tricia's number with it but it went straight to voicemail.

I decided to try Jess' contact too. She picked immediately and retorted,  "Clara. I've been trying to contact you!" I moved away towards the window for a stronger connection. "What happened?"

She answered a few seconds after me, unsure, "I've been trying to contact Tricia but it's not pulling through. Her parents said she's not home after going on an errand."

The call got disconnected a few seconds after she said this. I tried to call her but the network was too poor due to the situation at hand. "Tricia's missing. Maybe Ian truly has her. He just told me to come with the spell books. I have to look for her." I cried dropping my phone. I grabbed the keys walking to the exit. But Adrian grasped my hand and shook his head.

"Wait! It's snowing heavily outside. You'll be risking your life. Maybe due to the network she hasn't called. It might be a trap.

"No...Ian threatened me a few minutes ago. I had a nightmare about this too. It can't be a coincidence. She's in danger!" Opening the door, the cold air that welcomed me outside was enough to freeze up a whole sea.

I closed it immediately, shivering as the thunder stroke. My phone beeped suddenly. I rushed for it and froze at the message.

"Your friend is with me. If you want her alive, come alone. Don't bring Max along otherwise I'll kill her."  Forwarding a picture of him standing behind her, I dropped my phone on the floor rushing outside.

Max chased after me, but I hid behind a tree, leading him somewhere else. "I'm sorry. I have to do this alone," I cried running towards the address he sent me.

I opened my umbrella and ran through the rain shouting her name. My feet were all heavy plucking out of the pile of snow, but I kept on running ahead. Shivers went down my spine as the snow fell on the streets.

When I got to Liverpool streets, everywhere was in a bad condition. Buildings were totally destroyed by the storm wind and scattered. The street lights were turning off and on, scaring the wits out of me.

I closed my eyes eyes when I felt I had stepped in a corpse. I yelled and  screamed with fear as my body shivered. Those that survived the storm were killed by Ian as I could see the bite marks on their necks.

The injured ones were trying to wake their loved ones up, crying uncontrollably. I cried looking at the numerous dead bodies on the floor as I moved ahead.

All of a sudden, the dead bodies woke up, moving disgustingly, and approaching me to feed on me. I moved back, looking around in despair. But they had surrounded me, while the rest were attacking the survivors.

Ian tricked me, now what was I going to do? Tears escaped from my eyes as I watched them getting closer. Was I going to die becoming a feast for my vampires?

Their horrid faces covered with blood reckoned over and over on my eyes, reminding me of mom's death. I screamed, moving backwards, when someone stood in front of me, throwing arrow at them directly at their heart with insence.

"Clara. Run!" Max yelled fighting the vampires which surrounded me. I shook my head head, closing my eyes in hesitation before running to hide somewhere.

I can't take this anymore. What does he want from me? Where's Tricia? I cried shivering under a tree. When a shadow stood in front of me, I raised my head only to see Tricia standing in front of me alive.

But before I thought of hugging her out of joy, I realized she looked different. Her face looked wrinkled, blood splattered on her face and looked at me with her clenched teeth.

Her eyes shone dangerously red as she twisted her head to and fro. "Tricia," I cried. She smiled evilly, approaching me with a sudden swiftness only vampires possess.

She lowered her head about to dig her teeth into my flesh when she stopped staring at me with a tear running down her cheeks.

"Sorry. R-run," she muttered as blood oozed from her mouth, before she collapsed on the floor.

"Tricia!" I screamed holding her when she fell on the door. She cried coughing before dying right in my hands. I cried profusely tapping her cheeks to wake her up, but she didn't.

She was dead. I raised my head to see Max holding a knife imbrued with her blood. Unsettled, I let her go and pounced in him, crying.

"Why did you kill her!"
