Y/N POV: I woke up in a cold sweat, and my first reaction was to freak out, I kicked at the door that was keeping me inside of whatever I was in and with one good kick the door flew of it's hinges and I was immediately blinded by a bright light, I let my eyes adjust to the newfound light as I stepped out of the locker I was in.

I took a good look around the room just to see if there was anything note worthy of the room I was in but no, nothing about the room screamed 'appealing' or 'suited for a school environment'. I subconsciously glared at the room and every little detail I could take in, I stopped for a moment however to analyse who I was and what situation this could lead to. "My name is Y/N L/N, the Ultimate Librarian." I whispered to no one in particular, I guess that was my way of comforting myself... at least that's what she told me to do.

It seemed to work however as I felt my nerves wash away a little, but not even a moment to spare as I felt one, no. Five different voices behind me. "Rise and shine ursine!" I quickly whipped my head around getting ready to defend myself but quickly gasped with confusion as I saw five different color robots. I felt myself awkwardly chuckle as my nerves completely washed away, why was there a reason to be scared of little teddy bears? My eyes betrayed me however as they showed worry and fear.

"Your looking at us like you know who we are, have you...?" The pink one spoke up to which I shook my head and proceeding to look the other way. "You don't talk much do you?" The red one asked, I shook my head again refusing to look at them, they all looked at each other and let out a cry. "Yayyyy it worked!" I flinched at the sudden noise now making full eye contact with them. "Phew, had me worried there for a second!" "A-Ah, worried about what? You have to be more specific, no good book becomes successful without describing what's happening." I mumbled. "alright now, let's tackle one issue at a time!"

"You're so damn reliable, Monotaro!" Yelled Monokid "He's like a sixth grader helpin' out a fifth grader!" Praised Monophanie "which means we should keep our expectations reasonable." warned Monosuke. "Well? What's your question?" asked Monotaro. "A-Ah! Um well, I have a few, but I guess I could start with, well um, where am I? From just simple observation this looks like a school." I said. "Okay, so this place is called the ultimate academy for gifted juveniles." I took a long while, processing this as quick as my brain could manage. "I-I've never actually heard of something like that before." I admitted, my lips quivered as I spoke, my legs were shaking was my eyes were darting to random sides of the room.

"Of coarse you haven't. This school was made for seventeen of you cretins." Monophanie said, I made to make a mental note of that number. "So therefor there is seventeen Ultimate's in this school." Monosuke stated. "U-Ultimate's!?" I was baffled, yes I've heard of the word 'Ultimate' after all I am one but I was awed at the fact that seventeen talented people are in this school together.

"You know what Ultimate's are right? The government scouts 'em through this program called the Ultimate initiative." Monosuke said to which led to Monophanie chiming in. "'Ultimate' basically means you're particularly prodigious in a particular talent." "Basically, the Ultimate initiative exists to cultivate talent throughout the country, promising students are eligible the receive all kinds of special handouts!" Monokid explained.

"Like free school tuition, voting privilege's, eligibility to run for elected office... They even get grant money too, right?" Monotaro went on having Monosuke take over for him. "Students chosen by the ultimate initiative are known as Ultimate's." They explained.  "I-I knew that" I mumbled under my breath, a little irritated that I was being talked under like this.

"Hell yeah! Students would do anything for the honor of bein' chosen Ultimate!" Monokid yelled. "Which means you gotta remember this time. So don't forget anymore." Monosuke said "Yeah! Forgetting your ultimate talent is such a waste!" Monotaro exclaimed. "W-What do mean specifically by forgetting?" I questioned "Shut up! Quit yappin' and get started already!" Monokid screeched at me, making me back up a little with widened eyes. "Y-You have to be more specific with me, what exactly do you want me to do?" I tried to yell but it only came out as an incoherent mumble making my cheeks flush with embarrassment, turning my head, I heard Monotaro speak. "Why, exploring this academy, of coarse." My heart sank at that sentence. "Also...you should introduce yourself to the other Ultimate's...cause you guys are all going to do an activity together later." Monosuke explained.  "Awesome! I've got a rager right now! Well then..." Monokid unfortunately added.

"So-long-bear-well!" They all yelled in unison, leaving me behind with my running thoughts and shaking body, I bit my lip as I felt my face begin to sweat as I could feel my breathing increasing, I wrapped my arms around my torso, just simply thinking about the amount of people I could meet, the amount of people that can hate me all to their delight gave me an emotion that I couldn't describe, in this moment I felt more at ease...if these people were Ultimate's then maybe they could relate to me a lot better, without waiting any longer I launched myself out the door ready as ever to meet my first friend... after all that's what she would've wanted.

After speed-walking down the hallway, I saw a green haired male in the distance, he looked very pretty to say the least, his eyelashes being his most defining features...well that and his pretty face, coming up behind him, I quickly put on a normal face as he turned around. "Oh, hey there. Did you get kidnapped too?" The guy asked, to which I nodded my head looking away.

"Is there something the matter? You look a bit red." The guy said. I paused and looked at his face it was full of purity as kindness. "You just have a pretty face is all." I bluntly replied. "A-Ah, thank you." The guy said, he looked a little thrown off at the random complement. Crap...was that too forward? After a long awkward pause the guy spoke again. "Hey let me ask you something..." The guy said. I looked up back at him urging him to go on. "Do you remember how you got here?" He asked. "I-I know that if your asking me of all people then you must not remember yourself. " I answered. "Ha, you're the same way too, huh? You don't remember anything, do you? I guess that means everyone here's the same." I felt myself panic a little, if I can't be helpful to a simple guy like him then how am I supposed to help fifteen others? "I asked the others too. They all said they don't remember." "S-So fortunately everyone here is the same...how unfortunate" I said, my tone was calm but my eyes looked disappointed.

"It's like... we all have amnesia or something." The guy said, letting me take over. "W-Well I don't think that's how amnesia works it would be very unlikely for us all to get amnesia at the same time." I pointed out only to get interrupted by the guy.

"Welp, I guess we're all in a pretty abnormal situation then." I shrunk back as I looked into his eyes, they were so menacing and scary looking. A whole 180 to his otherwise calm personality. "W-Wha? B-But amnesia is such a stretch though... W-We might just have been hit pretty hard... but e-either way I think we'll make it out." My voice quivered with fear as his eyes ripped into me. "Or it could be group hypnosis, maybe brainwashing..." His voice trailed off, it honestly wasn't helping out matters as it was so calm and mysterious, it was almost terrifying.

"In any case... I hope we remember soon" I looked up at him shocked as his persona just took another whole 180 from scary to friendly in just a matter in seconds. "Otherwise... I'll end up the outcast." He said. I perked up hearing that with a wave of curiosity rushing through me giving me. "What do you mean by outcast?" I asked. "To tell you the truth, how I got here isn't the only thing I don't remember." I urged him to go on. "I also forgot... my own talent."

My eyes slightly widened at the newfound information, tilting my head in slight confusion "Phew, I'm in trouble I know I must've been some kind of Ultimate, I just don't remember." He took my silence as my doubtfulness of his claim and spoke again. "It is true but then again I don't blame you for not believing in me." I waved my hands around frantically. "A-Ah that's not it, I just couldn't find the correct words to sympathize with you is all." I said, trying to prove my point till he cut me off. "Oh... I never told you my name, did I? It's not like...I already told you but then forgot I did, right?" "N-No you haven't told me your name yet." I responded.

"My name is Rantaro Amami I can't remember my Ultimate talent at the moment...but I promise. I'm not a bad guy. Nice to meet ya." My face flushed as he smiled at me... It's been a while since anyone has ever enjoyed my company like she did all that much. I wonder why.

I couldn't help but notice how that even though he has forgotten his ultimate talent he doesn't seem to be so shaken up by it, it was quite admirable, I began to feel my body heat up again, that weird feeling of vulnerability and trust, I turned to Rantaro and quickly said my farewells before I dashed away quickly, trusting people in his type of situation where everyone doesn't even remember how they got here can't be good.

I felt something vibrate in my pocket and as I pulled it out I saw a device looking thing with the words 'Monopad' at the back, the screen said that I obtained a friendship fragment, I was mildly confused but came to the conclusion that I would quickly learn how to work it, after all... I'm the Ultimate Librarian.

I was walking for a while so surely I would come across a few others, I opened the doors to the dining hall quickly coming face to face with two girls, I felt mildly uncomfortable being how I was the only male in the room, I shook this feeling off as I walked up to the slightly taller girl with a fierce look to her a look that could never compare to my timid one.

"HAIYAAAAAHHHH!!!!!" I felt my ears ring by that loud shout that came from the girl I almost slapped my hands over my ears as I felt my ear drums ache in pure agony, once I felt the pain die down I carefully took my hands off my ears and tried to look the girl in the eye.

"W-What o-on planet Earth are you doing?" I tried to shout but my quivering voice could only do so much. "I'm yelling so I can build up spirit energy! Don't you know you can unlock your brain's full potential by yelling to build up spirit energy!?" This girl is going to be the reason I go deaf I was sure of it, but as to not build up enemies I spoke a reply. "I-I mean I've read and researched that pro athletes do that. It's supposed to help you focus, so they say." I said.

"I must be prepared for combat at all times, just in case someone tries to attack me! I will protect myself with Neo-Aikido!" I quickly picked up on that information. "Neo-Aikido? Then that must mean you're-" I tried to conclude but the girl cut me off and exclaimed. "Oh, yes! I'm Tenko Chabashira! The Ultimate Aikido master!" Tenko yelled.

Someone who is incredibly confident and who is good at protecting others including themselves...what a good talent, I don't think I was thinking when I spoke next. "I-I always imagined Aikido masters being these buff burly guys, but you're so adorable Miss Tenko!" I had always used formalities when I met someone and that I really admired and looked up to...which was almost everyone I met but that's besides the point, this probably took Tenko by surprise cause her face flared up and she became all timid. "A-Adorable!?" I nodded with nothing but adoration in my eyes. "Aaaahhh... St-Stop iiit... I...I-I'm not...cute... My face crinkles when I suck down a shake... And when I wipe my face, my eyelids turn inside-out." Tenko stammered.

I paused trying to figure out what words I wanted to use. "D-Don't worry Miss Tenko I'm sure that you're true beauty is in the inside." I sweat dropped. "I'm sure that guys would be drooling over you everywhere you go." Crap, I didn't mean to say that, I knew I had chosen a poor choice of words once I saw her face crinkle up. "Wh-What's the matter? Your face looks really intense now Miss Tenko." "I don't like getting praised by degenerate males." Tenko said. I felt myself instantly shrink down that earlier confidence disappearing just as suddenly as it came. "D-Do you mean men? Are you perhaps uncomfortable around them?" I asked.

I don't think she knows that I'm truly a boy and honestly she seems like a great person to talk to so I would hate it if she hated me. "It's a way bigger problem than just being uncomfortable, if any degenerate tries to touch me, my reflex is to grab them and through them across the room." Tenko said. I was shocked at this information I was better to be careful around her, I tried to play it off as to not raise any suspicion. "Y-You're right... That's a way bigger problem than just being uncomfortable around men." I wanted to change the subject so in my best efforts I did so "Ah, by the way...what is this Neo-Aikido you mentioned?" I asked. "Neo-Aikido is an original form of Aikido that my master and I made up ourselves!" Tenko yelled. "A-Ah so your Aikido is self taught, that's admirable" I said. I trained in most forms of martial arts with my sister a lot so I guess I can relate. But with my passion for talking to Tenko pretty much gone, I bid her a farewell and moved on.

"Two down fourteen more to go." With my shrunken form I began to walk to a short red headed girl, once I was face to face with her she began to talk. "Nyeeeeh...so are we stuck here?" She asked, she kind of reminded me of a little kid with her childish voice and small form but I tried to give her respect by replying to her question. "I-It seems so, but please don't worry, I'm sure that we'll be okay, how are good books written when the likable main character is killed right of the bat?" I asked. The girl seemed uninterested in my rather bookworm remark and spoke again. "I'm...not worried. It's just a pain. Something like this won't make me panic cuz... I'm a mage." I tilted my head in response to that, this girl intrigued me, so desperate to know more, I kept quiet and listened intently, in response to my silence she spoke again. "Hm...that's right. I haven't told you yet. Prepare to be amazed. Fall to your knees. I am Himiko Yumeno, the Ultimate Mage." Himiko said. I made an exaggerated gasp as I asked Himiko millions of questions about her and her incredible talent, I'm gullible in some way but I'm most certainly not stupid, most of my questions were just to pressure her into telling me her real talent and some were to get to know her personality more. "So if your a mage doesn't that mean you have a companion that takes the form of a cat? But...if I'm wrong please...give me all the details." I said. "But, uh... I'm...officially called the Ultimate Magician." Himiko sweat dropped, well that was rather easy.

"Oh? S-So your a magician? You could've just said so, you got me all excited for nothing, unfortunately magic will always remain fiction, but It's nice to dream I guess." I mumbled, my statement was soon followed by Himiko's silence as she stared at me. "Nyeeeh...magic does exist." Himiko claimed, I kept silent as I listened to her point. "Because... I'm a mage." I was awe struck in some way but wanting to keep the conversation going I spoke. "But Miss Himiko, didn't you say that you were a magician?" I asked. Questions keep people from getting bored so I asked them when needed. "Only on paper, I'm known as a magician, but that's just a ruse, I am actually...a mage." Himiko said, her point was still blurry to me so I let her continue. "You may not know them, but... There's a group called the Magic Castle, also known as the hall of magicians, it's where the world magic lovers gather. I was the youngest person ever to win their magician of the year award." Himiko mumbled. "That's amazing Himiko." I said, simply just trying to be nice you must compliment the person speaking, that will urge them to continue and tell you more than they were meaning to, I repeated that over and over hoping that it will come true, the one thing I craved the most was information and I needed to obtain it. "It's all a ruse, their keeping my magic a secret by disguising it as tricks, because of this ruse I became famous all over the world for preforming tricks." Himiko confessed, it was honestly intriguing how her whole Ultimate was formed. "But..." She sniffled. "I'm not a magician... I'm a mage... Nobody believes me..." Himiko mumbled. I frowned slightly as she stopped telling her story. Whatever, needn't it matter, I pat her back telling her words of comfort, at least I think so, that's what she said to me so it must me good.

"Maybe if it brings you comfort you could perhaps show me your magic, I already believe you so don't worry, you could even bring us all back to when-" Himiko cut me off, "Magic isn't all-powerful... I can only do so much." I tilted my head to which she took as an invitation to keep going. "I can choose the card you picked, pull out coins, and release doves." I looked probably dumfounded in that moment, I mentally facepalmed as her magic tricks weren't something you could really call 'unique.'

I felt my pocket vibrate meaning that I had gained another friendship fragment, I bid Himiko a fair well and I moved out of the dining hall and to the hallway and into the warehouse, upon first entering I saw a girl with strawberry pink hair, she looked cute so with a faint blush I walked up to her hearing her mumble empty gibberish, she seemed to be rummaging through a box full of chemicals and vitamins, to be specific but despite this I tapped her shoulder trying to be as polite as possible. "Hey, what are you looking for miss?" I asked.

She gave a loud gasp of fear as she whipped her head around to look at me, the fear in her eyes just a second ago turned into a look of hostility. "Don't sneak up on me, bitch!" She yelled. I flinched when I heard the harshness of her voice, my self esteem dropping down rapidly as I had the same hunch to my back as I had earlier. "I-I'm sorry for scaring you, but please don't talk to me like tha-" My opinion lay deaf to her ears as she spoke. "Were you starin' at my tits?" She girl asked. "H-H-Huh?" My face flared up as my eyes darted away from the girl and onto the floor.

"Help yourself! A pervert like you can only dream of landin' a big-boobed hottie like me! Go on, get yourself a good eyeful!" She yelled. My words were becoming all choppy and my palms were becoming sweaty. "I-I w-wasn't staring, my eyes just happened to look there cuz I can't look people in the ey-" I tried to say. "Ohh, my eyes just happened to look there... Ohh, my eyes just happened to grope her...Ha-haha! I can identify pervs on sight, and you are definitely a fuckin' perv! That's why you wear what you wear right? To hide your nasty crotch?" She asked.

I can't keep up with her, she's asking me so many questions at once it's honestly terrifying, is this how I am towards others? No wonder why I find it difficult to find friends, but not even a second later another question was thrown at me. "Haha! Only pervs wear-" Tired of being made fun of by her I cut her of this time. "P-Please, stop it with your relentless b-bullying! I can wear what I want to...!" I didn't yell per say I just had to raise my voice an octave to get her attention off my clothes and to face the bigger picture.

However to my surprise the girl shrunk back, I must've gotten her attention, she whimpered out a meekly. "...Sorry." I would be lying if I said that I was expecting her to apologize but maybe that's just because in general I'm just not used to people actually caring enough to apologize and when they did it was only to please her not because they actually cared. To pass the awkward time I started up some form of conversation. "Um...what's your name?" I asked. I cringed at that basic line, there was no creativity in it to the point were it was sickening. "Huh? S-Seriously? You don't...know who I am?" She stammered out. I shrunk back slightly shaking my head no. "I'm the gorgeous girl genius whose good looks and golden brain will go down in history! I'm the one the only the legendary Ultimate Inventor herself-Miu Iruma!" Miu yelled. "I think I've read about you before, but the way you described yourself in interviews was very inappropriate...so I didn't bother to learn more." I said. I could tell that Miu did her best to ignore my remark and continue on. "I make all kinds of gadgets-ones that let you type while you sleep, read while you sleep, even ones that let you eat while you sleep." Miu explained.

I could already tell that I was going to love that, reading while you slept was always one of my fantasy's, getting knowledge even while you slept sounded surreal, I felt my eyes light up a little as I thought-up a good question I could ask. "M-Miss Miu, why does everything involve sleeping?" I asked. To which she responded. "I was inspired after I realized how much time people waste on sleep, though this one time I invented these really stupid eyedrop contact lenses as a gag." Miu said. "I-I guess that sounds like something someone would wear I suppose." I said. Miu's eyes widened at that remark. "Well then those people sound like total plebs! That invention was nothing! It doesn't make you more productive while you sleep so it was a total failure! Just like you!" Miu yelled, pointing at me. "I signed the patent rights over to some company and never looked back." Miu said. I smiled sadly, the remark still lingered in the back of my head. Whatever, this is how people are I suppose. "Hey...what were you looking for earlier? You seemed pretty desperate to find it." I asked, maybe not the most original question but I can roll with it.

"Eh? Are you a dumbass? In a situation like this, I gotta find some meds!" Miu yelled. My eyes widened at that sentence no no no no no no, anything but that, I could slightly feel the color in my face drain, perhaps some other naive person would think she just needed medicine but I know exactly what she was talking about. She had quickly turned around before long and started to look through the boxes again, I quickly grabbed her hand, slightly squeezing it. "Y-You can't just get high in a situation like this! It wont end well...please?" I said. Miu's face flared up a bit probably by the sudden touch. "W-W-What are you doing, you pervert!? All I wanna do is set my mind run free and forget all about this shitty situation!" Miu said. I flinched slightly hearing those words. "C-Come on Miu. Please, that isn't a good habit you have more potential than that." I reasoned.

I crookedly smiled, grabbing her hands again running my thumb along her knuckles. "P-Pervert...this place probably doesn't have what I need anyway." I heard Miu mumble, she was looking away now with a flushed face, I chuckled slightly. "You were looking at vitamins, just thought I'd let you know." After that I bid Miu a farewell quickly moving into the hallway.

It took me a little while to find the next person but I got there eventually, they were a girl, a very pretty one in fact with a small smile, I walked up to her only to be greeted with a dazed expression on her face. "Umm..." The girl mumbled under her breath. I was slightly puzzled, was she ignoring me? No, we just met she couldn't just have decided that she should just ignore me upon first meeting. "H-Hey, you're an Ultimate student, right? Can we talk-" The girl instantly interrupted me. "Ummmm..." I turned my head away from her, maybe she doesn't feel like talking? Oh, and here I am forcing her to, how rude of you Y/N. I paused my thinking and I looked at her again, she didn't seem angry, just very dazed, almost confused. "A-Ah...um, do you need some time to collect your thoughts miss? Do you want me to go away?" I asked. I've always had a habit to be polite to people, at least every time I could, so why should she be any different?

"How unexpected, I never thought anyone would ask." The girl said. I gasped and jumped back slightly. "Oh, I didn't mean any harm... I was just deep in thought, so I thought if I ignored you, you'd go somewhere else." The girl said, my heart sunk slightly, maybe I walked funny or maybe it was my face, either way this girl had already decided she didn't wanna deal with me the second I entered the room. "D-Did I make you talk when you didn't want to? If I did I apologize greatly-" "Don't worry about it! You asked me if I was uncomfortable and that's all anyone can ask for, I feel like talking now!" I felt myself blush a bit, 'so kind' I thought to myself. "Now, let's talk. What do you want to start with?" She could probably tell that I was slightly confused based on my facial expression so she kept the conversation going for me. "My favorite Doraemon episode is #53. The one with security cameras and target practice." The girl explained. I was well educated in most forms of manga and anime being how some of the people that visited the library were big fans of those types of things so I guess in my scarce free time I would read and watch the ones they would recommend so I could relate to them more and try to build friendships, it's a shame that it never worked. I might as well learn her name, at least. "Before we talk about that...could you tell me your name?" I asked. The girls posture returned and she replied. "Oh, my name is Tsumugi Shirogane. I'm the Ultimate Cosplayer." Tsumugi said.

"Ah...that... sounds grand Miss Tsumugi." I said. I was intrigued by her Ultimate already, it sounded a lot more unique than mine. "Are you... surprised? I get that a lot, since I'm so plain." Tsumugi said. I tilted my head a little, why did she think she was plain? If I didn't know any better I would think she was the ultimate model or something.

"Y-You're not plain Tsumugi, if you don't mind me saying, you're really pretty." I sweat dropped. Tsumugi took a pause looking of to her right slightly. "I just make cosplay. I'm fine with others wearing them... but lately people have been putting themselves before their characters. I'd rather wear my outfits myself, than give them to people like that." Tsumugi said.

My eyes lit up, but probably not for the last time "Y-You sound so passionate Miss Tsumugi, It's so very admirable, you're amazing." I said. Tsumugi looked right at me with a light blush. "It just makes me happy when I get to show people the outfits I've made." Tsumugi said. I nodded vigorously urging her to continue. "And thanks to my sponsors, I can use materials that are just plain expensive." Tsumugi explained, making me smile. "Of course the Ultimate Cosplayer would get sponsors." I said, Tsumugi tilted her head. "It's not a big deal. People just crowd around me like I'm a panda at a zoo." Tsumugi explained. "Y-You're so amazing, you're kind of like a celebrity to people in the cosplaying industry maybe even amazing enough to become a myth." I expressed, even if my words felt like they were a little over the top.

I was getting so caught up on that fact, that I almost forgot to ask her about the bigger picture. "Miss Tsumugi is it okay if I ask you a question?" I asked. Tsumugi hummed in response to that. "E-Earlier... you looked as if your were focusing on something. What was it?" I asked. Tsumugi now looked to her left pointing to a statue. "Ah... that bronze dragon statue over there. I'm just plain curious about it." Tsumugi said. I looked to my left where the statue was. "It almost seems like it's floating, right? Doesn't it look pretty out of place?" Tsumugi asked. Yes It did look out of place in some way, it just didn't look like it belonged I suppose. "This is a school, right? But everything here is so weird, isn't it? There's trees and grass growing inside, I can't find any exists, and it seems like were the only people here..." Tsumugi pointed out. I nodded my head, unsure on how to appropriately respond. "Are we... gonna be okay? Are we going to be able to get out?" Tsumugi sweat dropped.

The conversation was now led by my silence. "Are you okay? What's wrong?" Tsumugi asked. "A-Ah! I'm sorry, your beautiful face just distracted me from the bigger picture." I played off. Tsumugi's face flushed up slightly as she looked the other way trying to hide the smile on her face. "I'm sure that we will be okay, please don't worry about it Tsumugi." I said. Tsumugi sweat dropped. "You're...such a charmer, Y/N" Tsumugi said. I only couldn't say anything in response to that. "Th-The main character to any book didn't get anywhere by being worried all the time but instead they were brave and carefree." I said, I'm probably the worst person to be saying that. Tsumugi smiled a little. "Yeah... I guess so. Being all depressed won't help anything." Tsumugi said. "Mhm. So let's try to find a way out." I said. Even though, my true thoughts and opinions still lingered in the back of my head.
